Review: The company opened an account for someone using only an initial and my former maiden name in 2009 ( [redacted]) I was married in 2000 and have not used my previous name since then. My current name is [redacted]. No social security number was given to the company to open this account, nor had I given anyone permission to open any accounts in my name. I have requested removal of this item from my credit report in March of 2013 when I discovered it. The amount was for a $210. In March I had to provide mortgage statements from 2009 through 2012 to prove I did not reside at the address service was provided to. After providing this I again discovered the item was not removed from my credit report, they now wanted me to provided a copy of my driver's license and W2'S from 2009 and 2012 which I provided. They then contacted me and said they would send a letter to the 3 credit bureaus and myself stating it should be removed. The following day I received a phone call stating they now want a police report and a copy of the letter that comes with my social security card. This is ridiculous, I have already proven I did not live at the location they provided services to. Also why do I need to provide my social security information to a company that I have never received services from. The company should have required more than an initial and last name that doesn't exist in order to open an account. The run around to correct their error and amount of hours I have had to spend correcting it ridiculous.Desired Settlement: Removal of the fraudulent information from my credit report and a letter of documentation of this.

RE: File #[redacted] Dear **. [redacted]: This is in response to a complaint you filed with the Revdex.com regarding a dispute with MCI. You indicate an account was set up in your maiden name in 2009. You were married in the year 2000 and have not used your previous name since then. In March 2013, you realized this and requested removal of the account from your credit report. MCI records indicate MCI account [redacted] was installed in the name of [redacted] for local and long distance services. On October 16, 2008 the account was canceled. On November 12, 2009, an audit of active local services with no billing established MCI account [redacted] for telephone number ###-###-#### with the most recent name ([redacted]) and address ([redacted]). The account was canceled on May 19, 2010, and the telephone number was disconnected. However, as the charges remained unpaid they were forwarded to an outside collection agency on September 17, 2010. Because the address on the MCI account isn’t the same as [redacted], I’ve issued a credit of $210.75 to zero out the account balance. I’ve requested this account to be pulled from the collection agency and any negative credit data be removed. This can take up to thirty days to process.Thank you for allowing MCI the opportunity to address this matter. If you have any further questions please contact me at ###-###-####. Sincerely, [redacted]MCI Agency Relations cc. Revdex.com

Review: This company changed my long distance provider without my consent. When I called to ask how and why they did this they had no answer or no record of this. My company century link provided me with name of the company ,which is still on record. MCI will not acknowledge they illegally changed my long distance, nor will they pay any fees they incurred on my bill.Apparently it is there practice to take over lines they think have no long distance provider. However that was not the case with me. I've had my long distance provider with century link for 17 years.Desired Settlement: I would like them stopped, but since they are global I'm sure it will be difficult to do,so many people like me will suffer by paying that extra money. It's a shame that this company has so much power.

December 2,2013

Dear [redacted],

This letter is in response to the complaint filed with the Revdex.com. According to your complaint, you made a payment of $50.00 but your phone service is not working. You request MCI ensure the phone is working and a letter.

MCI records show a similar complaint was filed with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission in April 2013. At that time I responded to you by letter and copied the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. I included MCI account numbers and balances outstanding. These balances total $3027.45. As of today, the outside collection agencies shows the balances have not changed and no payments being made. Unfortunately, MCI is unable to provide service to you as a result of nonpayment of that balance. I’ve included a copy of the letter I mailed to you on April 17,2013.

If I may be of further assistance, please contact me at ###-###-####, extension [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: MCI has wrongfully been charging [redacted] (grandaddy) for long distance charges for years. Once I looked at his [redacted] bill a couple of weeks ago I called [redacted] said they shouldn't have been charging [redacted] because he has had the [redacted] Freedom package which includes long distance. They are expecting them to pay a Final Bill of $36.83. I called and they took $4.84 off the bill but said since we had the service til 2/21/13 they couldn't refund or cancel out the bill. I feel they have wrongfully been charging when [redacted] had [redacted] Freedom with long distance. [redacted] was never aware of this and thought he had to pay the long distance when he already had it included in the [redacted] bill itself. [redacted] has never authorized MCI to bill him for long distance. I was never worried about years worth of refunds, I just wanted them to cancel this bill.Desired Settlement: For the final bill to be canceled out. It is the principle of the company of MCI taking advantage of people who already have long distance with [redacted] has been great in its understanding and help, but not MCI.

Since [redacted] is not listed as an authorized account contact, the attached response letter was mailed to [redacted].

Review: There is a 2006 MCI charge-off/collection reporting to all three major credit bureaus ([redacted]). The charged-off amount is reported as $540. I have tried over several months to dispute these charges with MCI through the dispute process of the credit bureaus, as well as calling the MCI customer service line. On the several occasions I have called customer service, neither agent can locate a record of my name, address, or even an associated account number, but yet MCI is reporting monthly to the credit bureaus that I am delinquent. Finally , last month I mailed a USPS certified/return receipt letter to the MCI address listed on my credit reports asking for a copy of the last billing statement so I can (1)validate this debt belongs to me, and (2) ensure the amount owed is the being reported correctly. I confirmed the delivery status on the USPS website and the letter was delivered. I have yet to received any correspondence. Henceforward, it is my contention that MCI/Verizon is acting willfully in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.Desired Settlement: I am requesting records (last billing statement that displays my name and final balance) that validate the aforementioned collection, OR, if unable to provide this documentation, I am requesting this collection be DELETED from all three credit reporting agencies.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Mci evidently uses India for its customer service representatives. This resulted in extreme difficulty reporting a buried telephone cable which had been cut. No one seemed to understand --"the buried telephone cable has been cut. It happened in front of my neighbors. There are orange cones marking the site." four days after initial report (when I called using neighbors phone to check status of repair request) I went through this all again. I certainly hope someone comes to repair the exposed cable. (Note: My neighbor told me the contractors, working for the town, who cut the cable had reported the cut but I've no idea if this is true)
I looked online and on my bill but found no number for reporting down or cut lines.
