They stripped the hole in my oil pain, which is causing it to leak out of the plug. They are denying any responsibility and refuse to fix it free.I went for an oil change and they said that my oil pan plug was stripped, which only could have happened by them over torquing it since I never touched it. I bought a new plug from them and it was "fixed". A few months later I went in for another oil change and they said my valve cover gasket was leaking. I fixed it myself and while I did that, I noticed there was nothing wrong with the gasket, so I looked under the car. I saw that it was leaking from the bolt. Thinking there was something wrong with the bolt, I bought a new one and tried to install it myself but it just spun in the hole, which indicated that the hole was stripped and that this was the cause of my problem. When I called them about it, they said they had no record of me complaining about a leak so they couldn't do anything, and said I could have stripped it myself, even though I had never touched it until I saw it was leaking. They offered to install a new oil pan but of course they would have to charge me, even though they stripped it. Because I will be travelling in my car this weekend, I have had to buy a new pan myself and replace it. Desired SettlementI would like a refund for the cost of the oil pan that I allege they stripped, causing the leak. I purchased one from [redacted] for a total cost of $88.34 (including tax). I would like a refund of the cost to purchase this part which they damaged. Meineke missed the deteriorating rear brakes in Sept, costing me extra money for rotors, calipers, & labors when I had to return it for service in DecOn 9/18/14 I brought my [redacted] into this shop to check the breaks (invoice #[redacted]). As the bill states, they completed a "vehicle inspection report" and deemed that the front brakes needed repairing, a job that totaled $944. Under three months later (and less than 3,000 miles later), my brakes started squeaking again. I returned my car to the same Meineke (invoice #[redacted]) and was told that the rear brakes were so worn down that not only did they need new pads, but also new rotors and calipers. The manager admitted that had they inspected the car properly the first time, they would have noticed that the rear brakes needed work too, and that would have saved me the cost of the rotors, calipers, and extra labor. He shaved off a little on the price (this time the job totaled $825.60) but the cost would have been much less had they noticed the worn breaks the first time. I was informed that there was nothing they could do about it, since the guy that made the original mistake had since been fired, so they can't dock anyone pay to compensate the difference. I feel that I should only be responsible for what the job would have cost me in September (brake pads and labor). I understand that these things happen, and was pleased with how apologetic the staff at Meineke was, but would like to be issued a partial refund for the second bill. Thank you for your time. Desired SettlementThe bill states that brake pads cost $50 and the labor to install them cost $97. I feel that should be all that I am responsible for paying, since the car would not have needed the rotors or calipers had they noticed the slightly worn brakes in September. Therefore, I am seeking a refund for the remaining $646.

This location failed my car for a state inspection for problems that weren't really occurring. I went into this Meineke location last Thursday for my annual state inspection and upon completion the technician let me know that my car failed the inspection because my tag and third brake lights were out and because my power steering pump needed replacing because it was leaking. He also let me know that they could fix it immediately for me for over $350. I left and immediately went to an auto parts store to purchase the lights and when I went to replace them I realized that in fact all of my lights were working. So, I decided to take my car to another shop and have it inspected. They passed my car for the state inspection. I asked them about the power steering pump after they finished and the gentleman at the other shop said that my fluid was low, but that there wasn't a leak and that he filled up the fluid for me. I am very unhappy with Meineke because the store wanted to charge me over $300 to fix the lights and pump, which were not needed!!! How many of your customers are experiencing the same bad customer service?? It is definitely not a good practice to try and charge people for work that is not needed!! I would really appreciate a refund for the amount of $23.75 that I paid and I will never be returning to a Meineke location again.Desired SettlementI would like a refund of the $23.75 that I had to pay last week, because I had to pay it again somewhere else where they actually did the job correctly.Business Response Response to Case #XXXXXXXX,The customer did fail her State Inspection, but not for any light problem. Those were recommended repairs along with the bad motor / transmission mounts. The vehicle failed inspection for a leak in the power steering pump, and the customer was given an estimate for the repair and informed she had 60 days to make the corrections and return for a reinspection. The inspection done by another shop was at her choice, and I believe we preformed a valid inspection according to the laws governing a North Carolina Inspection.Final Consumer Response This information is incorrect. I have my inspection sheet that clearly says that the tag light failed, which I can provide if necessary. So, along with trying to charge customers for unnecessary work they must also keep poor customer records.

Took my truck for repair ended up Costing 2200$. 150 miles later. Lug nuts loose and motors knocking due to wrong oil. They refuse to fix itTook my car for power steering repair. They tell me I needed tons of front end repair. So I got it all done costed 2200$. Got truck back still no power steering. Took it back they said I needed new pump. I paid for pump. 150 miles later my tire about comes off loose lug nuts all the way around from them taking tires off for brake job. Then tighten those next day motor starts knocking they put wrong oil in my truck. Have text from the manager saying there sorry and will make it rigjt. They've had truck for going on a week and have yet to touch it. I Call this morning now they refuse to fix it. They ignore calls and texts and are impossible to deal with. I just want my truck fixed. THANKS MANAGEMENTFinal Consumer Response There was no engine issues before repair was started. Never had any problems with my engine at all. Have talked to several other people who's vehicles were ruined by this company. Company gave me a ridiculous estimate to repair the damage. So having it fixed now by a well respected and known company that knows what they are doing. Saving all bills and invoices to pursue legal action since the company is so dead set on not helping fix this matter.

Meineke tried to sell me parts that were not needed. Meineke also put myself and my children at risk and our lives in danger due to negligence. On 4/01/2016 I took my vehicle to Meineke for an oil change. The gentleman stated that I had no brake lights and needed a new brake light switch. He also stated that they checked the bulbs. I have been taking my vehicle to this particular Meineke since summer of 2015 so I trusted them. My husband is out of town and sends me there when the car needs to be serviced. On this particular visit I had brake lights when I got there and none when I left. I spoke with my husband gave him the report and the estimate which totaled $187.00 his response was I need you to check the fuse so I did, not blown then he had me check the bulbs in which I found that the right side bulb was busted, the coil in the left bulb was popped and the 3rd bulb in the back window was blown. If all the bulbs were checked as said then this should have been resolved. I changed out all the bulbs that same day as I reached my home and the heavy rain turned into a slight drizzle and now they are all working. It rained really heavy and meineke sends me home with no brake lights which jeopardized the life of myself and my child the car of course is replaceable but the life of either of us cannot. I was targeted to be taken advantage of because I am a woman who comes in constantly without her husband. I have lost all faith in this particular location I pray all Meineke establishments are not like this the estimate # is XXXXXX. I feel as though Meineke needs a class in Ethic's. Mechanics need to be retrained and consumers are not taken advantage of. Please find a way to rebuild my trust in your company.Desired SettlementI am seeking reimbursement for all services performed on my vehicle for the following dates2/16 oil change9/15 coolant flush9/1/15 spark plugs rotator button 10/15 tune up timing belt water pumpBusiness Response I the Manager have called the customer and listened to her complaint. The tail lights on the vehicle were not working and the lube technician that we had check it thought it was in the brake light switch. The car should have been better diagnosed by our electrical technician. The car needed all new tail light bulbs due to a short which is a lot cheaper than a brake light switch. I called the customer and explained to her she still had running lights but no brake lights which was a safety issue to her .It was close to the end of the business day and she picked up and drove home. We offered to reimburse her for the bulbs and apologized for the inconvenience that the issue caused her.She said that she completely under stood and that we have been great to her and thanked us for the courtesy call and quick response and that she would be coming back. Consumer Response I receive a courtesy call From the manager and I expressed to him that my Husband was very upset and angry yes they did offer to refund the money for the bulbs. However it was not the end of the day my appointment was @8:00 a.m. and I left there around 10 a.m. its never ok to assume something is wrong with a vehicle when it contains the lives of others. He previously said to me the bulbs were checked yet when I pulled the panel down one was clearly busted and the others blown. They never made mention of a short anywhere. My husband and I are disgusted with Meineke we has lost all trust in the company period. Someone's assumption could have cost my son and I our lives . Final Business Response I am the service manager that has always dealt with this customer's vehicles and I helped her on the day in question April 1, 2016. I spoke with the customer dealing with this I would like for her husband to contact me so I can explain what happened on the day in question. We have done previous work on their Volvo and every bit has been quality work with professional treatment with no complaints from the customer. This field of work as in any other sometimes a simple problem is overlooked just by assuming because none of the brake lights were working but the tail lights were working my technician assumed it was an electrical issue not something as simple as a bulb. I informed the customer that her tail lights were working but that the brake light bulbs were not. I did apologize to customer for my technician not checking the bulbs and just assuming off of his experience in dealing with that many bulbs out at once. Usually this is caused by a short which probably occurred when the bulb broke. I did not charge customer for the oil change that she received upon visit, explained the misdiagnosis to her and offered to explain to her husband as well. I also informed customer that I would take care of her next service on us and that next time she has a issue I will personally insure that every aspect of the situation is examined. Again I do apologize for the inconvenience and hope to speak with customer again soon whether her or her husband. I personally thought I have also provided her with exceptional service and have always been upfront with her and tried to save her the most money possible on repairs but mistakes do happen occasionally but as we have serviced her car multiple times she knows that do not happen often with us. Thank you for helping us improve and like I said please call me with any other questions and I would be glad to speak with your husband at his earliest convenience

I took my car into Meineke in Carson City to have my A/C charged. They suggested I replace the o-rings as well so I did. The A/C worked on the way home but did not work the next day. Now there is a hole in the condenser which we also need to pay to have repaired. We believe they actually put the hole there in order to cause additional repairs. We have gone to them several times over the past year due to [redacted] coupons bought for this location. We know of one time they changed our oil and reused our old oil filter (or they didn't actually change the oil at all). There was another time when they aligned our car and we ended up needing to replace parts in our front end only a few days later (we no longer believe that was a coincidence). Now to make it worse, I am being told that they are not actually a Meineke and the Meineke headquarters are not calling me back. The coupon, my receipt, the store-front and the van in front all say Meineke. I don't know what to do!Product_Or_Service: [redacted] Coupons and A/C repairOrder_Number: INVOICE [redacted] FOR ADesired SettlementI would like Meineke to pay to have my A/C repaired and charged and my oil changed at a Reno location or a [redacted] dealership. I would also like them to reimburse me the $60 I paid for the [redacted] coupons and the $120 I paid to have my A/C repaired to begin with.

I took my truck in to the Meineke business to have my muffler welded on. I paid the $189 bill and left after the service was done. Two days later I was driving the truck and when I got home I noticed the muffler had fallen off at an unknown location. I called Meineke to inform them and spoke the manager, who told me there was nothing he could do. The manager also said that since I could not find the muffler he could not tell if it falling off was a result of their work. The manager would not allow me to even bring it in to look at it. Very unhelpful and unwilling to offer any solution to the problem.Product_Or_Service: welding and small piece of muffler pipingDesired SettlementI would like Meineke to stand by their work and make it right.

This store charged me $325 for a bad muffler. At first the service center claimed they could not hear anything after installing the first muffler, but the car vibrated and completely silenced the radio at 25 miles an hour. They replaced it three more times with improving noise reduction, but it was still load. The [redacted] Meineke stated that the last muffler installed was not a real muffler and the downsizing they did to make the muffler fit was not to Meineke standard or quality job. The manager at that store strongly contested the work. After five trips to the [redacted] center to have them fix the job they did the first time, they indicated there was nothing they could do despite their failure to correct the noise. I asked if anything else was wrong with the exhaust, which they said no. The [redacted] center was going to charge me to correct the poor work done by this Meineke shop. Showing the same muffler to [redacted], resulted in the same comments regarding poor quality of parts and service as the [redacted] Meineke stated. The work was a hack job and the muffler was not a new one or was fake. I contacted the Meineke national customer service center and they claimed the [redacted] site is not a Meineke service center. They refused to assist me. To fix the junk job done by Meineke, I had to replace the tailpipe, the prior exhaust pipe and the muffler for $475. This service center advertised on [redacted] as Meineke. The site claimed to use new parts, and is unwilling to troubleshoot my exhaust or return my up front payment. I have all the receipts, the last muffler they installed, and the bill from [redacted] to fix the exhaust correctly.Product_Or_Service: Exhaust workOrder_Number: [redacted]Account_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI physically met with the manager and mechanics five times in Carson City to resolve the issue, including asking if there were additional issues with the exhaust that could be causing the loud noise. Despite being lied to several times, I gave them repeated opportunities to fix the issue without escalation. At minimum, I would like a refund of my initial payment ($325) to them, and at best, the costs of repairing all their damage by [redacted] ($475).

Advised repairs needed to be done that were confirmed not necessary. Told to come get my car when I let them know if concerns of tampering/taking advMy family came in from out of state to visit with family the weekend of June 24th. After noticing some brake problems we took our car to Meineke for a check. The first phone call we received was from [redacted] who stated we need $1000+ in repairs (pads, rotors, cv boots). When my husband told the sales man no, we would not be doing that work, [redacted] became pushy asking "What can we do to get your business today" several times. We asked for a quote for just pads and rotors and were given a quote of $600+. We later received another quote of $250+ to resurface all four rotors. I called to speak to the store manager to ask what needed to be done to my vehicle so that we could safely make it back to our home where I could have my brakes replaced for a fraction of the cost. The store manager was never put on the phone but rather some gentleman explained to me that car repairs are much like surgery, "doctors don't just operate on one thing," again attempting to get us to do more work than was necessary. I asked what the cost would be to have all 4 rotors re-surfaced and was placed on hold. [redacted] picked up the line and asked if he could help me. I advised that he could not and that I felt I was being taken advantage of and becoming worried that they would tamper with my brakes to ensure that they would have to do the repairs. [redacted] said, "You know what, no. Come get your car and get out of here."I picked up my car and took it a few blocks down the street where a mechanic looked at my brakes and cv boots. He advised that nothing needed to be done with the boots and that they looked fine. He replaced my front pads and rotors and resurfaced my rear rotors for $450.00.Upon our arrival home, my husband and I reviewed the Yelp reviews and made one of our own. There seems to be an ongoing pattern of this shop charging too much and stating repairs need to be done that, in fact, do not. There is also other events of [redacted] demonstrating horrible customer service. This location should be shut down so that no one else is taken advantage of in the future.Desired Settlementno resolution to be had - we took my vehicle to a mechanic down the street who did the repairs for $400,Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: 775-338-9292Contact Email: [redacted]Meineke Car Care Center # 2291930 Prater WaySparks, NV 89431July 12, 2016Revdex.com Serving Northern Nevada4834 Sparks Blvd Suite 102Sparks, NV 89436RE: Response to Case # [redacted] As the owner of this company I have reviewed the customer's complaint and was extremely shocked of the unprofessional customer service given that day.We take pride in our customer service and are very compassionate to people who, especially are from out of town, and need to make it safely home. Review: I took my 1995 [redacted] in on 06/13/2016 to have 1 rear shock replace and a front bushing kit...I purchase these parts online. My complaint is my rear shock was put on but not the front bushing kit..so when I went back to meineke to ask why was the bushing kit not put on..the manager on duty said it takes over 4hours to put new bushing on and we are really bagged up today...my response was, well I already paid for the labor to have the parts put on,so if you wont do it then can you please refund me half of the money back since you only did half the work..the manager look at me,smile and said no.Desired Settlement: I PAID 60 DOLLARS FOR THE WORK THEY DID ON MY CAR..ONLY HALF THE WORK WAS DONE SO I SHOULD BE INTITAL TO HALF MY MONEY BACK

Review: This spring I took my vehicle in because the fan was not working in my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport. The company looked at the fan and saw that a mouse was in there and had damaged the fan. They replaced the fan. A couple weeks later it was not working again and I took it in to see if another mouse got in there again. They said nothing was in it and it was working. As I would drive, sometimes the fan would work and sometimes it would not. I brought it in again and this time they replaced the resistor. The fan was working again but when I would go over bumps in the road, the fan would stop working and then start again. I took it in again and this time they replaced the motor. I contacted the couple about 2 weeks ago via email to tell them the fan was making noises and it smells like something is burning. My complaints have been made via telephone and email. The response I received on 9/9/13 was "Seems like no matter how hard we try we can not seem to please you." I think that if you take a vehicle in to be fixed, you should not have to return every other week to have another part of the problem fixed. They should have fixed the problem completely the first time so I don't have to keep running back there. I have asthma and not being able to have the fan running causes me to open the windows instead of run the air/defroster. Also breathing in the fumes from the motor burning causes my asthma to act up.Desired Settlement: I do not believe this company is capable of fixing the problem since it seems that all they want to do is keep trying to figure out the fix instead of knowing it. I want a refund of the money I paid to have this problem fixed so that I can have a company that works on this type of problem fix the problem correctly for good.

Response:

When customer came in originally blower motor was not working at all. After an inspection we found out blower motor and some wires were eaten by a mice. There was a huge amount of nest. We cleaned the nest without charging extra money and installed the new blower motor. I am also attaching the copy of the picture from that day which shows how big was the mice nest was. It took more time to clean it than replace the motor. About a month later she wrote me a letter saying blower motor only works at high. I responded via email and explained her how resister might be bad and how it works. When she came back we found out the resistor was not working and as a result blower motor was only working at high speed. Also new resistor was chewed up because of that we would not warranty it. Once we replaced the resistor blower motor started working at all speeds. Blower motors are not designed to work at high speed all the time since the resistor did not work and she had to drive it on high speed it is possible blower motor got damage or there maybe short somewhere behind the dashboard that could damage the motor. She did not mention on her letter about the smell or blower motor not working at all. After that day we seen her for other services but she did not mentioned us about blower motor problem. We also installed driver side mirror for her. She brought the wrong mirror three times and we installed her mirror back and forth but only charged her once. Also we cleaned the letters of her mirror that were written by the junk yard. Even after all our effort to make her happy she came back and complained about having finger prints outside of her driver door. I recently got a letter from her accusing us for putting a mice in her vehicle. I also included the copy of the letter. She is basically claiming we put a mice in her car at earlier service which resulted her problem. I told her to bring the vehicle in so we can check for the burn smell. Please read all the letters written between customer and us. Also take a look at the picture.

Review: I received a direct mail advertiser promoting an oil change at meineke for 14.95. When I arrived at the location listed on the flyer I was told they were not honoring that price due to the fact that the owner had not opted out of the corporate advertising in time and will not honor this price. They then tried to sell me an oil change for 19.95.Desired Settlement: This business should be held accountable to the price as advertised. This is clearly bait and switch.

Review: Alternator was replaced by Meineke, but they failed to secure or place lug nuts back on wheel. When we arrived at [redacted] we discovered only two lug nuts were on tire and they were not secure either. [redacted] inspected car and found that the wheel hub and upper control arm bushings were damaged due to driving on unsecured tire.Desired Settlement: I think I should be refunded the repair by Meineke & [redacted]. And also compensated for all the pain & suffering I went though for three days being without a car and having to pay someone to drive me to appointments & run errands. Review: I asked for regular annual car inspection.Car was taken and placed into the box. Then , I was informed car's wipers are not good and I have to replace them.I didn't believe , because my car is 2 years old and there is no any damage on wipers, wiper's blades are sharp.Wipers worked properly , there was no any indication wipers don't work properly ,no any water drops were left on the front window.Customer service woman was rude , she told me 'either pay for wipers replacement or your car will not pass inspection'.My friends also told me that this shop often lies to customer pushing them to change wipers with no reason. For the last 14 years I never had such bad experience in any other shops. This shop workers lie to customers putting them into situation they must pay for good wipers or leave without inspection 'passed'.This shop workers don't do anything to warn customers about their tricks , even though they know about it in advance.Desired Settlement: $ 25 amount this shop charged me for wipers must be returned to me.My more expensive good wipers were removed and can be sold by [redacted] to another customer.

Review: On the morning of 11/*/2012 I went to the [redacted] Meineke for the NY State inspection. I was told at that time that it needed a driver’s side ball joint and so I gave the ok for them to do the work. After literally several hours of banging on the car to free the ball joint, the mechanic cracked the bracket/clamp holding the ball joint. At this point I was told they would have to keep the car overnight. I asked them at this point to replace the cracked part. The next day a different mechanic worked on the car and welded the clamp/bracket. I protested that the part should have been replaced. I was told that the weld was stronger than the original part. I again protested that how would I ever feel safe driving this car with the welded part. I was again assured that the car was fine and that the weld would not affect the car in any way. The car was inspected, I paid the bill and left. Recently I heard some front end noise from my car and brought it to a mechanic to have it checked out. It needs a driver’s side ball joint. It turns out that the ball joint was never replaced in the first place…the part was welded and I was sent on my way.Desired Settlement: Refund. [redacted], the proprietor of the establishment conceded that the ball joint was not replaced but said that the car was inspected and drove fine for over a year after the repair and implied that he had no liability in the case. I spent over $315.79 to replace the cracked part and the ball joint plus what I was charged initially for the repair from meineke...151.57, a total of 467.36.

Response:

Good morning, as you can see from the complaint the customer was aware that we didn't change the lower ball joint. the custmoer was with us

the two days that we had worked on his car. The customer drove the car from the day that we fix it on November [redacted] 2012. He drove it almost

for a year and half without any problem.

If the car would have any problem in the time since we fix it back in November 2012 it should have been sooner then a year and half later.

The custmoer knew we had to weld the part, he was with us when we weld it.

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

Well, [redacted]'s response has left me flabbergasted. He readily admits

that the ball joint was not replaced...the ball joint that had

initially caused the car to fail the state inspection, the ball joint

that was supposed to be replaced, that I authorized his shop to replace.

The ball joint that was banged on so much that the bracket/clamp that

holds it in place was cracked, leading to the cracked bracket/clamp

being welded. The ball joint that I paid his shop $151.57 to replace so

that my car would pass the state inspection. Really.

I totally refute

[redacted]'s charge that I knew his shop did not replace the ball joint.

I only found that out recently when I was hearing noise from the car

and had it looked at. Also I reject [redacted]'s charge that I was OK

with the weld. When I was told that the bracket/clamp was cracked I

asked that it be replaced. I then left the car overnight (at that point

with the cracked bracket, it was undriveable). When I returned the next

day, I was told that the bracket/clamp had been welded...without my

consent. At that point I protested that the part should have been

replaced. Having no other transportation, I needed my car. I paid the

bill and left.

[redacted], the proprietor of the establishment conceded that the ball joint

was not replaced but said that the car was inspected and drove fine for

over a year after the repair and implied that he had no liability in the

case. I spent over $315.79 to replace the cracked part and the ball

joint plus what I was charged initially for the repair from

meineke...151.57, a total of 467.36.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

As I said before the Ball Joint was loose and by welding the control are it become solid and tight, the customer was aware to all this. and drov

the car for a year and half without problems. we did a mistake and not change the invoice to reflect that we did not change the ball joint.

Thank you

Review: Repairs on my 1999 lincoln town car exhaust system were estimated at $314 inn a telecom and I said the repair should be done. the next morning I was informed by telepne that the oxygen sensors had to be replaced because they could not remove them from the old pipes for reuse. I assumed that there were 2 sensors, and again gave the go ahead . when I picked up the car I was presented with a bill for $1821. I thought they gave me the wrong bill. The [redacted], who gave me the phone estimate said that the estimate was $1314 not 314. since it is almost impossible to verbally mistake 314 for 1314, I told him he missed the 1 way over to the left on the handwritten initial estimate. He denied it. the remainder of the bill included 4 sensors at $90 each.I paid the bill under protest with my credit card. Bank of america contacted the shop and asked that he refund 40% of the parts cost $626 - he refused. If I had been given the correct estimate initially I would have taken the car back and donated it to a charity.Desired Settlement: The shop should not profit from the [redacted]'s error. he should accept offer to refund the $626 or be held accountable for the $314 estimate he made in error and refund $1000.

Review: We were expecting a quote from the repair shop to fix overheating issues with a 2000 VW PASSAT we instead got an unauthorized repair and to add insult to injury it did not fix the problem.Desired Settlement: We've spent over 3,000+ dollars on this issue and the last repair for 1229.99 Dollars was unauthorized and we would like a refund back for this transaction.

Review: On 081715 I went to Meineke to have a free Air Conditioning check per a coupon I had.The coupon advises "FREE AC Check" & includes "Visual Inspection of the AC Components;Check Belts;Check AC Temp & Operation;Monitor Air Flow from Vents". The coupon also indicates, in part, "Inspection does not include opening the refrigerant portion of the system". When I arrived for the appt I showed the Meineke employee the coupon & confirmed that the AC check was free per the coupon & he advised it was. He also advised it would only take a few minutes. After waiting a considerable length of time a repair tech asked me to come back to the shop area & explained they had done more than the "FREE AC Check" & evacuated (removed and captured) the refrigerant from the AC system. This was done without prior approval or knowledge although they later tried to tell me they were only doing what I had approved per the paper they had me sign. I never signed a paper of any kind. They then told me they would recharge the AC system & I was to drive the vehicle for a period of time to see if the AC system was working the way it should. Iwent back to the lobby to wait until the AC was recharged & after approx 10 minutes heard a small explosion & a loud hissing sound. Through the lobby window I could see a green mist around the front of the car & repair techs were gathering around my car laughing. They asked me again to come back into the shop area & advised me that the vehicle's AC condenser had blown & my AC system was now inoperable. They then gave me my coupon back & their copy of the form that I was supposed to have signed prior to the AC system check. I was also never advised why they did anything more than the free AC check. I called the shop several times to try to come to a resolution as far as my vehicle's AC sytem. I've rec'd nothing but bad attitude from them and they've advised they're no longer interested in working on my car. They've become too difficult to speak to.Desired Settlement: Complete AC system replacement with a NEW compressor (not rebuilt) which totals approx $1200 parts & labor & requesting it be installed by my grandfather who owns an auto repair shop. I do not trust Meineke to do the repairs since they're the ones who made it inoperable. They will also say that because I used a refrigerant w/stop leak it caused the problem but in reality if they had been watching the pressure readings when they recharged it the problem would not have occurred.

Review: I brought my 2010 PT crusier into Meineke for an oil change. The next day I noticed oil spots on the driveway - which is brand new - not eve 1 year old - I finally realized the oil was coming from the car. I brought it back to Meineke, they made me return several times telling me they were too busy. My husband brought the car in on Wednesday, 9/**/14 and they said they tightened the oil plug screw, and it should'nt leak anymore. When we got home, it was still leaking, we brought it to our private mechanic, who told us that Meineke had stripped the oil plug screw and I needed a new oil pan and screw. Not only was [redacted], the [redacted], rude to my husband and I, he lied and told us he offered to fix the problem (which he did not) - Luckily, my husband recorded the conversation with him (where no offer to fix the problem was acknowledged or made) so when we called him back, and he insisted that he would have fixed the car, but now that we brought it to our own mechanic - he refused to fix the problem, as he stated the other mechanic probably caused the problem.Desired Settlement: Not only do I want the money for the oil change refunded, I also want my brand new driveway cleaned of oil stains, and the money for the new oil drip pan and screw that I had to replace.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Meineke Car Care Center regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Review: First negative experience occurred when I called to schedule an appointment for an oil change. Upon advising them what make and model I had I asked if they had the oil filter in stock to which they assured me they did. After bringing my car in, they realized they did not have the oil filter in stock after all and I was forced to come in again just so they can complete the oil change!! At the second visit to this location, they rotated my tires. Apparently they weren’t aware that I had 2 different size tires (front and back) for my Rear Wheel Drive Car and so they put the BIGGER tires to the front! I drove like this for a few weeks not realizing why my car kept getting stuck in the snow and overall felt awkward while steering. Well suffice to say, this IMPROPER tire rotation has caused damage to my rear tires which are low profile and cost hundreds to replace! I went back to the Meineke location that made this mistake ([redacted]) and spoke to [redacted], the owner. Not only did he not take responsibility for my damaged tires but refused to offer an apology or an offer to rectify the situation other than simply rotating the tires back to how they were!! I then contacted Meineke's headquarters Customer Care team on February **, 2014 and reported this issue. Someone from the team reached out to me and said they will speak to the owner of the Meineke and see if he'd be willing to resolve this issue. They got back to me the next day saying that the owner was not and that he was still claiming that it wasn't his shop's fault that my tires are damaged. Customer Care Representative then informed that Meineke is a franchise business and there isn't anything else they can do to help! This is unacceptable. I'm now at a loss of over $600 for those 2 tires because of that particular shop's incompetence and mistake!Desired Settlement: I want my 2 damaged tires replaced.
