My complaint was in regards to paper mailings, not electronic emails, but the response references only emailsPlease make sure to remove my address from all paper mailingsSave the trees and my shredder too

We do not have a way to reserve an item via phone as our stores phones call into our corporate office call centerThe only way to reserve an item is to place an order via in-store pickup on our websiteWe cannot guarantee stock on any item unless you have a confirmed in-store pickup order

The return is being processed back to the customer and a gift card is being issued for his inconvenience

I apologize for the troubleWe have unsubscribed the customer from all emails

We are happy to return for the customer to the card used for purchaseIf it was a debit card, we would need the card in store because it would require the customer enter their pinWe can also do a refund to a gift card if the customer would chooseAnother option we have to refund the customer would be to issue him a check to the address provided at the point of sale

The Queens location determined the Asus laptop the customer checked in had a damaged screen along with damage on the top case and bottom case and keys were also missing from the keyboard. The technician did not open the laptop to inspect inside; however, tests via an external monitor were run and... the tests passed on the units RAM and motherboard but the HDD had completely failed. The tech called the customer and explained the plan purchased does not cover damages; however, did offer to discount the labor on the unit for the repairs needed. When the customer checked in the unit, he was informed the plan he purchased did not cover accidental damage. The customer did not question this information; however, did proceed with the diagnostic tests and a quote for the repair. [redacted] Customer checked in the unit at the Long Island Micro Center on 09/12/17. RP1709120631 A request was sent to the protection plan company about if the GPU failed was it covered? Due to physical damage to the unit, TWG replied the plan the customer purchased would not cover repairs. I am rejecting this response because: I have not been contacted by the Micro Center store manager with options for settlement of this complaintNo contact by phone, mail or email has been received by me

Ms [redacted] 's computer was diagnosed and she declined the service we let her know would remedy the computerWe are happy to service the customer's computer at the cost that was provided to her

10-30-I brought in my laptop computer for repair at Micro Center; I noted on the Micro Center Service Repair Check in Form problem description 'very slow - imminent drive failure' (see attached original document)I didn't note a keyboard issue because there wasn't any issue with the keyboard or the mother boardA week later per Micro Center phone call laptop is repaired; I picked up my laptopAt home when I tried to use it the keyboard wasn't working so I drove back to Micro CenterThat's when they said the keyboard was bad and needed to be replacedDuring the week that Micro Center "repaired" my laptop the keyboard must have worked otherwise how did they make any repairs to my laptop? At what point did the keyboard go bad, on the drive home? I reluctantly paid for the labor and keyboard because I was assured that would fix the problem (see original receipt dated 11-5-2016)Received phone call from Micro Center my laptop is repaired; I asked so the keyboard fixed the problem? Per Micro Center employee - yes, the problem has been repairedI drove there to pick up my laptop, confirmed again with employee that the new keyboard fixed the problem? Yes, laptop is working it has been fixedAt home when I tried to use it the laptop still wasn't workingAgain, it supposedly worked at Micro Center but during the drive home something else went wrong? Drove back to Micro Center because laptop was NOT repaired as I was told; Micro Center said they would look at it againEventually, received phone call from Micro Center stating the problem now was the mother boardI was refunded the keyboard & labor as a gift card, so my only option was to spend it at Micro Center

Micro Center's Response has not changed at this timeMicro Center did not do the install of Windows on to the customer's machineThe process of installing a new Operating System let's the user know at multiple points that drives may be erased and/or reformatted and the user must agree before proceedingData belongs to the customer and it is recommended that everyone keeps backups of their data as hard drives have the possibility of failing at any timeHad the customer checked their unit in for service for Micro Center to perform the the installation, they would have had to sign off that they acknowledge their data is their responsibility before we would perform any service

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find the resolution is satisfactory to... me. Micro Center acted in a swift, professional matter to rectify the situation and we are pleased with their actions. As such, we look forward to future business with them. The store manager contacted the customer and his check is on its way

I am rejecting this response because:The manager never said that he would exchangeThe item he said the only thing would do is look at itAnd he was nasty which made me hang up

They promised to change the deceptive wording on the website, by making clear that the television offered for sale was in fact refurbished, and that the warranty was offered through Micro Center
They additionally offered me a
different television, a new one, for the price I was promised previously, but I declined as I had already purchased another set elsewhere

A manager from the store is reaching out to resolve for this customer
