Morris Election Promotion Advertising
Complaint concerns Morris and the advertisement and misleading sales pitch of 69% voter turn out in Ohio for the electionBoth in commercials and on the sales floor they mentioned 69% voter turn outThe 6,000,voter turn out and 69% did not add upTo achieve the 6,000,the true percentage would of needed to be 76%In the store during their sales pitch they continued to reference the 69% and even referenced the Secretary of State website ( *** ) to show that it was possibleThere sales pitch was extremely mis leading and advertising
Morris is now saying it was 'eligible' votersThe promotion started (Oct19) after the deadline to register was over (Oct11)This would mean that the only people eligible to vote ARE the register votersThat number is 7,861, The official numbe

New furniture damaged during delivery, Morris refuses to fix it
I purchased my new furniture on 7/8/The Furniture was delivered on 7/31/My customer code through Morris is COLLMXXXXXI paid $1,on my Discover card then financed $4,through Morris to receive years no interest financing
The issue occurred when I called Morris on 8/13/to speak with someone because I noticed that my furniture had been grazed with a utility knife when the delivery workers were taking the plastic off all of the furnitureIt left an 8" mark on my furnitureI sent the woman pictures of the damageShe contacted me on 8/18/to tell me that since I reported the damage days after delivery they would not fix itI explained to the woman that because of its location is why it took longer to notice but still they would not fix it I look on all of my paperwork from Morris, no where does it say I have an X amount of days to report damage that occurred during deliveryThe
On 10/09/we perchased two Lazy Boy recliners from Morris Furnture on Morse rdin Columbus OhioEach chair was to have a Tall Base installedWe charged $to our Visa and put $on a Synchrony Banke charge for one year same as cash dealThe chairs were delivered December 20, The tall bases were not installed and the delivery people did not know how to install themThey made some calls and returned the chairs to have them installedWhen I called Morris to see when the chairs would be redelivered I was told not until JanuaryWe had already disposed of our old chairs and had family coming from Georgia for ChristmasThe salesman, *** *** called back and said they would have them back out on Friday, December When the chairs came the delivery people scraped the arm of one of them on doorway damaging the leatherThe base of the other one was installed wrong and made a loud noise when the chair was taken out of the lounging positionThe installers said I w
Poor customer service, failure to deliver on the date that was given
I purchased a large sectional on 2/26/2017, costing over $On this date the sales rep said that the earliest we could PICK UP our purchase at the Florence, KY location would be on 3/15/And we could deal with that so we went ahead and made arrangements for this to happen and counted down the days until we will have a couch! Today 3/14/17, I called my sales reps number, which happens to just be anyone in guest services number, to make sure everything will be there tomorrow and to let them know an approximate time that we will be thereI was then informed from a guest service representative that our sectional is actually at the warehouse in Fairborn, Ohio, and not going to be delivered to the Florence location because my account has a balance for delivery and that needed to be paid firstI never said that we wanted the couch to be delivered to our home, and never agreed to thatI got out the paperwork and
Received replacement furniture from Morris Furniture and they delivered new furniture in Nov that had a broken frame and no repairs to date
I filed a complaint with Revdex.com previously concerning furniture we purchased from Morris Furniture (complaint ID# XXXXXXXX) With your input I thought the issue was resolved Morris allowed us to select another leather two piece set and it was delivered and the defective set taken away When the delivery of the replacement set was placed in our living room (in November 2015) I noticed it cushions did not look right and a portion was leaning The delivery gentleman took pictures with his pad and stating something is wrong and I will call it in and someone will be here in approxdays for repairs When the repair person looked at the couch, the first thing he asked us if the delivery crew dropped the coach We have no way of knowing this and he stated the frame was bent He suggested we not use it until they order the part and repair it
As part of their advertising/philosophy, Morris Furniture states "We are totally committed to your satisfaction and making sure that you always get more at Morris." This past Holiday Season, my daughter surprised me by getting me a new recliner from MorrisWith back problems and circulatory problems, this was a very much appreciated and thoughtful giftHowever, after about months, one of the arms started to feel lose and became increasingly looser and wobblyI called Morris and explained the situationIn less than a week, they sent out a "furniture tech" to check the chair (either repair or replace since it was still under Warranty.) I had to pay a fee because I didn't have the chair delivered by Morris when I bought it but picked it up and brought it home in my carThis is a usual practice and understandable
I received an e-mail telling me what time my repairman would be at my home as well as a picture of himI just had to click on "Confirm Appointment" and that was itThe repairman arrivedVery professional and obviously a craftsmanHe carefully removed the fabric from the arm of the chair and discovered that the loose arm was caused by a manufacturing flawHe was here for an hour, carefully and painstakingly working on the chair and re-securing the arm to the frameIt was repaired and just like new again and the charge to come out was cheerfully refunded and I have my like-new recliner again
Long story short? Morris Furniture really does believe in Customer Satisfaction and proved that to me with my recent experienceAnd the people I interacted with were all very friendly and professionalAll in all, it turned out to be an easy, pleasant experience which furthered my belief in Morris Furniture and their philosophy of Customer Satisfaction...and another reason why Morris always has been and will continue to be my choice in home furnishing storesThanks to all at MorrisYou are awesome John

Husband and I purchased a mattress and box springs from Morris Backroom Furniture for my year old mother They changed the delivery time three times in the same day from 3-pm to pm to actually delivering it around 5:pm She signed off but when we went to help her dress the bed, we noticed the box springs was bent causing the mattress to stick up in the center and bow down in other places When we lifted the mattress, we saw long black hairs, worn places a hole and lots of frame damage The mattress has a huge yellow stain, about feet in diameter, with signs of wear and other spots and dark places I called the store Guest Services twice and left messages, with no response even though the recording says they will return the call in the next business day I then called and left a message for a sales representative She

We ordered our $3,sofa on 11/25/ Received it in late March We noticed a tear in the leather and a mechanical problem
When we noticed the defects with the sofa when it was delivered we left them know immediately
They came out on April 6,to look over the sofa and said they would order the parts As we waited patiently we got not response We continued to call and we were always told the parts have not come in yet After waiting even longer we made several trips to the store to talk to the manager He assured us the problem would be taken care of

Misleading advertisementsI feel like I was hustledEven when I asked about the 6million voters in the contract I was just told that it was 69%
We purchased our furniture on November 6, during the vote for free furniture promotionAdvertising for the promotion stated that if voter turnout for Ohio voters reached 69% in the general election then everyone who participated in the promotion would receive their furniture for freeBefore I completed the paper work and signed the contract I noticed it said million people have to voteWhen I mentioned it to our sales rep *** he said that equalled 69% of votersI took his word for it and signedThe problem arose on November 9th when 69.3% voter turnout was reported on the secretary of state website and the same day Morris furniture claimed no one would get free furniture since million people didn't voteIn all advertisement for this promotion it said 69% voter turnoutWe met that and exceeded itWe purchased ki

11/11/After receiving the cost, told the sales associate I would be in the following evening, 11/12/to complete the transaction; the morning of 11/12/I received a call from the sales associate stating she forgot to add the second mattress and gave me the final total; I went in as I promised to complete the transaction and set up delivery; the furniture came the following week; no mirror, one of the twin beds was missing pair of feet and the installers did not screw down the platform pieces holding the mattress allowing the pieces to slideThe excuse was the mirror was not

We purchased a sofa, chair and ottoman from Morris on 8-19-The SOFA was delivered 9/15/ Crooked cushion seams were noticed right awayA repair tech came out and replaced the coversAround the same time, a hole was noticed in the right arm where the tag was attached to the couchAnother repair tech came out and tried to repair the leatherI refused this option and instead asked for a new couchDelivery of a new couch was attempted, but I refused to accept it because it came with cracked wood across the bottom frontCouch#was delivered 1/14/It appeared ok at firstThe cushions started sinking in within a few months and we had another repair appt on 7/11/New foam core was ordered and replaced 9/19/Another repair appt was scheduled a few months later (2/6/16) for sinking cushionsMorris wants to repair the couch again by reinforcing it underneathThis
11/19/I wanted to file a complaint so I got on line to figure out who, where, etcto call or email or whatever to get heard I received some of the pieces to the $k I spent and some were not there so things couldn't be put together, the table was on back order, etc I first made contact with Shelby who did appear to be empathetic and try and help me Her supervisor was on the phone with the crew that was in my home and trying to work it out In the meantime, I contacted the store and asked for the mgrby name and was advised he no longer works there Tiffany, who had answered the phone offered to help me and I decided to let her All I can say is Wow Talk about turning lemons into Lemonade! Closer to Champagne! Tiffany spent a tremendous amount of time on the phone with me, clearly cared about how I felt and the inconveniences put on meI later called back, changed something, added something and it was a breeze That kind of customer service means a lot to me and it weighs heavily when I go back to make another purchaseIt maybe a little old school but doing right by the customer is paramount for me Since Kittles left, I thought I was going to have to drive very far to continue to get that kind of service I had high expectations for Morris Home so to go from unhappy to very pleased in one day is no easy step I will say that the two ladies I dealt with today are certainly the glue keeping Morris together Thank you ladies
The furniture I purchased had problems from the beginning and I kept calling customer service with issues Fabric stretching on seat and back and not holding it's shape, tears in fabric, ottoman's top cushion not staying on top, kept sliding over the side, back cushions didn't have enough polyfil so they didn't retain their shapeThey always had different responses about the problems I was having, my pieces were from overseas and it would take months to repair, my pieces weren't properly coded so that I could get a replacement, that's wearMy calls were never returned, and when I called it was always "I do apologize" every single timeI was the one calling relentlessly for an entire year only to have a technician come out times to try to fix the problem and him actually tell me that it wasn't going to help, it was how it was madeFinally, after a year, they agreed to take it back minus 15% restocking and delivery feesI agreed, to get it done and over with, only it wasn'tThey picked up the furniture on September On September 28, I called for an updateAshley C*** (Customer Care Manager) said I was given a refund on September 11, it could take billing cycles to postWhat?! I called my credit card, they said no, it only takes 48-hoursI waited and waited and contacted Ashley C*** again, she stopped respondingI had a very difficult time getting her to call me back when it was escalated to her many months priorI finally had to dispute the charge on my credit cardIn December, Rachel N*** (Accounting Department) said yes, I was due a refundBut she wouldn't credit my account til this dispute was resolvedSeriously? It took months for them to credit my account with constant vigilance on my partI will NEVER EVER make a purchase from Ashley Homestore again
Advertised promotion not honored
The promotion stated if 69% of eligible voters turned out to vote then your purchase of $or more would be freeThey are now saying they needed million votes to get the free furniture percent of Ohio voters did vote but not millionThey told us one thing and then told us another after the factI need a clear explanation of how they got to the number of million votersIf you check any of the official election sites they clearly state that over 69% of Ohio voters voted and now I need a refund!
