Nextdoor is a member based social network that offers it’s members several ways of inviting friends and neighbors to joinThose ways include sending postcards and email invitationsMembers decide what homes they would like to send postcards to, and they have the option of syncing their personal
email contacts with our email invitation systemNextdoor does not actively search our or download our member contact lists or send postcards on behalf of members
The complaining member has only sent email invitations and one postcard according to our systemThough we can not recall the postcard, I have cancelled the email invitations that were generated through our systemThe member has since deactivated his account on Nextdoor

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, Cristin ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***
These Guidelines include rules about Self Promotion
On Nextdoor, we support local businesses and encourage neighbors to share helpful information about their favorite businesses and servicesWe also encourage neighbors to buy, sell, and give things awayNextdoor is actively working on solutions for local businesses to participate in their Nextdoor neighborhood
Nextdoor members frequently want to know about businesses and services offered by their neighbors, but do not want to be overwhelmed by unsolicited marketing offersTherefore, the following rules apply for members wanting to participate as a business on Nextdoor:
Allowed:
We encourage you to list your business or services on NextdoorBusiness and service listings are a great way to get the word out to your neighbors
To list your business, you should create or claim your business page* on NextdoorThis allows neighbors to easily find your business when they’re looking for help or recommendations
A business listing can be set up either by businesses or by individual neighbors offering services like babysitting, snow-blowing, or dog-walking
You may add your business affiliation to the Biography section of your profile
You may respond to requests for recommendations by offering your services like baby sitting, dog-walking, etc., as long as you are up front that it is you providing the service or that you are affiliated with the business you are recommendingSee our policy on conflicts of interest
You may let your neighbors know about job opportunities if the position is of particular relevance to folks in your community
Not allowed:
You may not make unsolicited posts about your business or service in the main newsfeed or via private message
You may not announce commercial events to the main newsfeed
To add commercial events such as real estate open houses or class schedules to the Events Calendar only, you must un-select "Announce to neighbors" AND select "Visibility: Allow anyone on Nextdoor to view or share this event." Learn more
This entire guideline also applies to individuals who occasionally sell homemade or hobby goods, or who provide casual services for extra income
A Lead’s job is to uphold the community Guidelines and to make sure their neighbors do as wellThis becomes increasingly difficult when the Lead does not follow the Guidelines to begin with

Members that are among the first members in their neighborhood to join Nextdoor are designated as a “Founding Member.” These members are also granted forum moderator privileges and given the status of “Neighborhood Lead.” Once moderator privileges are granted, Nextdoor does not typically remove
those privileges unless the member has a consistent pattern of violating our Community Guidelines or abuses their privilegesOn May 31, 2017, Member reached out to Nextdoor Support to ask why she did not have Founding Member and Lead statusMember also requested that Nextdoor Support remove the forum moderator privileges of another memberUpon investigation, we found that Member’s Founding Member and Lead status were accidentally removed, and prompted restored bothOn June 1, 2017, we notified Member of her restored statusWe also informed Member of our guidelines on forum moderator privilege removal. We have closed the case as resolved because we restored Member’s Founding Member and Lead statusIf Member believes that another member is unfit to serve as a forum moderator, Member is welcome to follow up with information demonstrating a consistent pattern of violating our Community Guidelines or abuse of forum moderator privileges and we’ll investigate

On 3/09/2017, we received a report that member was violating our Community Guidelines on disagreement and conflictWe contacted the member on the same day, highlighting the member’s inappropriate messages and suspending her account until April 8, On March 27, 2017, member reached out to
Nextdoor with her forum moderation issuesOn March 29, we responded to member and asked for examples of inappropriate moderation.Once member provides examples of inappropriate forum moderation, we will investigate and take action as appropriate on forum moderators’ accounts.Tell us why here

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: It is against Nextdoor's own stated policy to complain too much, something that was supposed to be investigated. There's an evident bias at Nextdoor, e.gevidenced by the overwhelmingly negative reviews here on the Revdex.com's site alone, and while the complaints against me were baseless, e.gcomplaining about posts in the Leads forum, my complaints about users such as *** *** *** *** *** *** *** complaining too much in clear violation of Nextdoor's stated were not. It is also evidenced in comments by fellow leads. Furthermore, though ***, the one who also revoked my lead status, stated she would review my complaint about it, she has not even responded since her attached message from January 31. Nextdoor definitely requires some improvement
Sincerely,
*** ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***
With over 150k neighborhoods in the US it is impossible for Nextdoor to actively monitor the newsfeeds of every neighborhood
We ask that when members post they adhere to these GuidelinesWe also ask our members and Volunteer Leads to report and remove content that violates the GuidelinesIf members have concerns over content that their Leads have voted on we ask that they contact Nextdoor Support directly so that we can review the reported content and take action where necessaryI have reached out to this member to ascertain what content was reported/removed by their Leads that they had questions about

On 11/11/2016, Member reported to us that some of our volunteer forum moderators were inappropriately discussing national politics on our websiteOur Community Guidelines prohibit discussion of national politics in the
newsfeed:
***
We investigated the messages of the two reported volunteer forum moderators and found several violations of our Community GuidelinesAccordingly, we reached out to each of these members to inform them of their violations and instructed them to refrain from discussing national politics in the newsfeed
On 11/12/2016, we closed the Member’s case as resolvedWe did not remove the reported members’ moderator status because we give members a chance to correct their behavior after they have been instructed on how their behavior violated our Community Guidelines

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meSincerely, *** ***

Response to Complaint ID: ***
On March 11, 2017, we reached out to member in regards to their Nextdoor name, which did not contain a real last nameWe requested a copy of a legal form of identification such as her driver's license, passport, or a current utility billMember followed
up with us and expressed safety concerns with disclosing her real last name on NextdoorWhile we understand member’s concerns, we reiterated that our real name requirement builds trust and accountability and leads to more useful information sharing
On March 14, member followed up with a copy of their driver’s licenseOn the same day, we reactivated member’s account and updated it to include her first and last nameCase was closed as resolved because we met member’s request to reactivate her account

Upon registering for a Nextdoor account, all members agree to our Community Guidelines, which are intended to help promote healthy and neighborly discussionIf a member is reported for inappropriate content, we investigate and only take disciplinary action if we find a clear violation of our
GuidelinesDisciplinary action may include removal of content, suspension of posting privileges, or even a permanent ban from NextdoorThese guidelines include not engaging in personal disputes in the public newsfeed. On May 10, 2017, Member reached out to Nextdoor Support to ask why her messages criticizing the quality of a local business were reported by another member as violating our GuidelinesWe followed up with Member and explained that it is ok to write about one’s experience with a business, be it positive or negativeThat said, we found that Member repeatedly posted her experience, which violates our Guidelines on over-posting and personal disputesWe asked Member to refrain from posting about this subject any further. On May 19, 2017, Member replied to another member’s negative business review message with a complaint that she should also be allowed to air her grievances with a specific handymanWe found Member’s message to be a continuation of her long standing disagreement with this local businessSince we previously asked Member on several occasions dating back to March to not violate our Guidelines on personal disputes, we suspended Member’s account until June 19thWe also found other members in the same discussion to be violating the Guidelines and took appropriate disciplinary action on their respective accountsOur review of the forum moderators’ actions revealed that they correctly interpreted our Guidelines and took appropriate action towards Member’s messagesOn May 23, we informed Member of our investigation and subsequent disciplinary action taken. If Member wishes to have their account restored, she can follow up with Nextdoor Support on June 19, to discuss the next stepsWe are also declining Member’s request to be promoted to a forum moderator, as such volunteers are tasked with resolving conflict in the communityGiven Member’s continuous history of conflict on Nextdoor, we don’t believe that Member would be a good fit for that role at this time

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
After reviewing other complaints and the responses from Nextdoor, I did not expect Nextdoor to take responsibility for any wrongdoing in their applicationTheir tactics is to deflect any complaints by attacking the user/whistleblower while harboring the harasserThey shamefully do not hold the same standards of their Leads as they do for other users who complain as they are quickly banned and shunnedShame on you Nextdoor for willfully fostering harassment on your applicationI have started a page on Twitter with the hashtag stop Nextdoor or #stopnextdoor to read other stories of harassment including one from your very own LeadsHopefully a large group will assemble to have our voices heard, get media coverage or file a lawsuit.
Now I will address the copy and paste response you have stated that will be negated by the words of your very own Nextdoor Support in emails to which, thankfully, can not be removed
In response to that I publicly shamed the Lead is a blatant lie as I have not written any comments since my last comment was removed on 2/11/asking why my comments were being removedFurthermore, in the time since that last comment, I have emailed Nextdoor Support for over a month and NOT ONCE was there ever a mention of public shamingThis response is the first I’ve heard of this accusation that is unfounded
As for the removal of my content, I did delete my petition thread as per your guidelines and your Nextdoor Support suggested be doneHere is the quote from your Nextdoor Support:
“The best thing to do with your post titled “Petition and more updates!” is to close the discussion and then create a group, if you feel there’s enough interest in the topic.”
Furthermore, I took the whole post down in response to the very same Lead who blamed the deaths of three people and one girl by their own negligenceSeeing as how family of the victims still reside in the community, I took it upon myself to take it all down since talks with the Lead were fruitless as he saw it as a valid point to continue developing along the state-labeled hazardous highwayHowever, when I addressed this comment to Nextdoor Support of its inappropriate content AND over-posting the same comment in another thread it took TWO WEEKS for it to be addressedBy then he had already removed the majority of the posts discussing the developmentHere is the quote from your Nextdoor Support:
On 2/14/
“In regards to the comment from S*** about an accident, it definitely isn’t something that should be postedI wasn’t able to locate it, so please let me know what the title of the original post is so I can look at the full context of his comment and take action as appropriate.”
On 2/16/
“Yes, the post is no longer availableHe must have removed it due to realizing that some of the comments were not appropriate (including his)Generally, we reach out to members to edit a portion of their post/comments to make it go within the GuidelinesSince it’s already been removed and on his own, I won’t be doing anything further in regards to it.”
And finally in response to attacking the Lead, I am assuming this is from the last messages I sent after the Lead continued to harass me by targeting and deleting my comments going back months and I reported it -yet nothing was doneHere is the response from your Nextdoor Support:
On 3/16/
“I’m sorry to hear that this is continuing
As far as reporting content that is in the past, I am taking action in regards to that.
Please let me know if this continues or any other violations in question.”
And he when I informed the Lead of this and he negated any wrongdoing, this was your Nextdoor Support response:
“I assure you that action has been taken with thisOf course, I can’t share any of the details, but if you see anything else being removed that doesn’t violate, please let me know.”
So after repeated complaints and Nextdoor’s inaction to remove him I sent him a private message saying I reserved the right to publicly write reviews of this injustice using his name as he is a public figure working for Nextdoor and I reviewing the serviceThat he has f*ed up multiple times on his moderation and that I just wanted to be left aloneThis was all in a private message so there was no public shaming on the Nextdoor App
I will also include other quotes from your Nextdoor support staff that supports my comments from the initial complaint.
This comment was made when your Lead publicly SHAMED ME for deleting the thread that contained his death-blame commentAnd yet he remains a Lead.
“As for S***’s comment, it errs on the side of moderation due to mentioning portions of removing contentWe’ve already taken action on this.”
Here is another quote from your Nextdoor Support staff about another co-Lead Lisa who was harassing me through private messageAnd yet she remains a Lead.
“I see that you have already told her to stop messaging youPlease know that she won’t be able to reach out anymore about the Guidelines or anything else.”
Now that I have addressed Nextdoor’s concern please address the fact of the continuing harassment that has been allowed on your applicationThe harassment that Nextdoor has confirmed culpability of the Lead’s misbehavior and yet inaction of removal as Lead was the result.
Stop harboring bullies NextdoorInaction makes you a bully too!
Sincerely,Yessenia ***

Nextdoor is a social network for neighbors to share locally relevant information and connect with their neighborsWith such a specific goal in mind we ask that all members abide by the Community Guidelines: ***
These Guidelines include rules about Self Promotion and Over Posting
This member made posts in one week advertising a local salonThese posts include a “Grand Opening, come to OUR salon” which tells us this member is personally invested in this businessShe also posted three posts for other services at this salon which also violates our Guidelines about overposting
We reached out to this member on the first occasion of self promotion on JUL 4TH, and instructed her on the Guidelines without interrupting her accountUnfortunately she continued to post self promotional posts and as a result we placed her account on hold until she agrees not to violate our Guidelines furtherShe has still not agreed to these guidelines

***
One of those guidelines is to to use your true identityNextdoor is a network so people who live in a local community to connectTo that end, using your true identity and honestly representing yourself are key parts of being a Nextdoor member
This member changed her name after joining to an acronym, Nextdoor Support reached out to this member and educated her about the Guidelines requiring a real name, with her permission we updated her account to reflect her real name and removed all restrictionsThis matter has been closed with the member

One of those guidelines is to use your true identityThis members account was reported by a member and placed on hold for changing the name on the account three times from son to mother to son and back to mother againWe reached out to her on 10/21/to discuss this issue and on 10/24/she replied with an acceptable explanation as to the name changes and we restored the members accountThere has been no additional action taken on this account
We have reached out to this member to help her report and remove any comments that she feels violate our Community Guidelines

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Nextdoor Administrator should have contacted me before they suspended my account and not solely took the leads wordI did respond and asked several questions and they did not respo d backIt only leads to a civil suitI will not be discriminated against let alone racially profiled by their leadNor will I be subject to favortism...Sincerely,*** ***

Upon registering for a Nextdoor account, all members agree to our Community Guidelines, which are intended to help promote healthy and neighborly discussionIf a member is reported for inappropriate content, we investigate and only take disciplinary action if we find a clear violation of our
GuidelinesDisciplinary action may include removal of content, suspension of posting privileges, or even a permanent ban from NextdoorThese guidelines include Not hijacking conversations and personally attacking other neighbors. On April 25, 2017, Member was reported by another member for violating our GuidelinesUpon investigating the case of this Member we see that he made several remarks about another member that were unhelpful and attackingOn the same day, we reached out to Member and discussed these violations and put his account on a temporary view only holdOnce the member agreed to abide by our guideline on 5/19/we restored full access to their account. We closed this case as resolved because we fulfilled Member’s request to restore his account

Nextdoor members have the ability to report posts and comments they feel violate the Nextdoor GuidelinesNextdoor Leads have the ability to review these reports and vote on wether or not they violate the guidelinesIf they do, the Lead can vote to removeIf they do not, the Lead will vote not to removeThis is the extent of a Lead's ability to take any action on other members accountsLead's and Founding Members do not have any control over other member's accounts
Only Nextdoor Support can take action directly on a members accountThat action can include removing posts and comments, placing members on Read-Only Limited Access or Suspension, depending on the severity of the offenseNextdoor Support can not edit posts or comments on Nextdoor. The only person that has the ability to edit a post or comment is the member who made that commentWe have reviewed the comments made by this member and found that they appeared as presented and they have not been edited or changed in any way
Due to the violations of our Community Guidelines contained in this member's comments, they were removed and the member was warned about his content

Nextdoor boundaries are primarily drawn by the members within the communityWhen a new neighborhood begins it has to get approval and a certain number of members before it will launchThe confusion with this neighborhood was caused by a much delayed neighborhood trial that finally launched
causing the boundaries of the existing neighborhood to adjust
Nextdoor Support has manually fixed the boundaries of these neighborhoods, reverting them back to how they were prior to the trial launch and we have moved the Lead in question into the proper neighborhood
