Our Operations Supervisor has a message in to the customer to see how we can get this resolved.  We have repaired this area in the past and spoken with all of our drivers and they are very familiar with this court.  The Operations Supervisor has had previous discussions with the customer...

and explained the we are not the only trucks that pull on this court.  He will discuss with the customer, but at this time we are not sure that Republic Services drivers are responsible for this damage.  The OPS Supervisor will continue to investigate and communicate with customer.

We stand with our initial response. As an open market/subscription residential customer in Dorchester County the service includes both trash and yard waste service.  So you have both services or no service. There will be no refund given on this account, there is no contract.  We have given a rate reduction to the customer as a goodwill gesture.

The $24.43 charge is a removal fee that the customer spoke to a customer service representative about on 10/13/14.  The payment for $38.50 was for October service, which our driver did provide service through the end of October, but the trash cart was not set out to be...

serviced on 10/23/14 and 10/30/14 as the driver noted on the account.  In good faith, Republic Services will be removing the $24.43 from the account and issuing a credit of $19.25 for the 2 weeks that the customer did not use our services.  The $19.25 will be refunded to the customer in a check mailed to his residence.

He leases the property he is in, it was recently sold to [redacted],, part of [redacted]  Motors a big local auto dealer who we service in sterling, the new owner only wants one container on the property , and they are building a corral for the container,( problem new landlord has werzema in...

place ready to go . new landlord is having both leasies split the container as part of their rent. Customer not totally happy but he has no option to put us anywhere on the property, he is upset because no one ever took a moment to understand why he was asking to cancel and when we would pick up the container. He was very loyal to us for three  years I did a pi roll back for him  this year. To resolve the issue we have waived the fee and remove the container asap.Customer was happy with the resolution.

We have closed Mr. M[redacted]'s account per his request and a prorated refund of $37.91 for the remainder of his term has been issued via check to him.  A complete quarterly refund isn't warranted as Mr. M[redacted] used our service up to the middle of February with no complaints.

I’ve attached pictures of [redacted]. There is a spot on the yard where a pile of branches were, but they have been gone for a while (grass is re-growing). I called Ms. N[redacted]before and after the site visit but got no answer. I left voice-messages eachtime, and I followed up with an e-mail...

after each call to her. No-one was homeat the time of the visit. We will keep an eye on this address to ensure prompt service.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I need a formal letter from Republic Services stating that no action has been taken by their 3rd party collections, and a copy of any correspondence between the two.  Republic Services has said they "will" do a lot of things since this all started, including after one formal complaint with Revdex.com already.  Yet, what they say they will do never happens.  So b telling me they "will" contact their 3rd party collector, isn't enough for me, because I have no confidence it will actually get done.  I need to see evidence that is "WAS" done.  At this point, in dealing with this for 3 months and at least 6 notices we should have never received in the first place, 4 telephone calls to Republic, and now 2 Revdex.com complaints, I have zero confidence they will actually do what they say they will do.  If any type of collections hits my credit report because of this situation, we will seek civil action.

I am conditionally accepting this response, pending further information.  I am awaiting further details from Jeff B[redacted] next week after he investigates the reasons my billing was so outrageous.  Jeff agreed to review my billing charges next week as far back as possible in order to figure out the reason this happened.  Assuming Jeff finds no major discrepancies (I was being incorrectly billed for the wrong service, or human error on the companies side caused erroneous billing) then I will be accepting this offer.  I do however expect an explanation as to how this happened. I was also going to call Jeff back, but since I have this line of communication I will simply wait for a response here.  Jeff mentioned his business is highly regulated.  I would like to know which regulatory agencies has authority over Republic Services and what laws and/or statutes they are bound by?Upon speaking to Jeff next week and being given the information  discussed above, and on the phone, I will re-submit this form as accepted.Thank you,[redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

The insurance agent, besides the fact that he was completely disrespectful to me over the phone, has been contacted by me with the witness information and police report request, he would not accept it because it was my mother in law to be the direct visual witness, in addition the president of the association also confirmed the damage was not there prior to the garbage removal company arriving and shortly after they left the damage was there. When I asked Republic services if they needed the footage or a police report they said NO! If this is not resolved through Revdex.com, the board's real estate lawyer will file a complaint about this and resolve the matter outside of the Revdex.com panel, this is if  the company doesn't agree to fix the gate.

It is such a shame it had to come to this over such a small amount of money. Customer service is so important and I was very upset with the way my situation was originally handled. The supervisor who resolved my problem was very professional and did an excellent job of making things right. I am happy to continue using their service.

Spoke with Mr. [redacted] and provided credit for failing to follow through on our service commitment to the customer.  Customer did not receive the service requested which we take responsibility for the error.  Customer Service agent did not follow the correct steps to resolve the...

customer concerns which lead to this complaint.

This response by Republic is not factual....

I did not close the account until the end of February after getting no response from Republic to fulfill their service agreement and pick up my trash.  I requested a credit check and to have their overflowing bins picked up as by that time, I had secured another service and had two more bins in the parking lot of my rental property.  Republic's bins were finally picked up in the middle of March.  I did talk to [redacted] with Republic today (April 17th) about this entire problem and again reiterated that I need a refund check-not credit-because my account is closed.  I paid $176 for service from 1-1-18 to 3-31-18.  I received no service at all from at least 1-31-18 onward.  (It may have been earlier-My tenant texted me on Feb, 17, 2018 "Not sure if anyone else has told you but its been weeks since the garbage or recycling has been picked up."  I was told by Republic on 2-19-18 that someone would pick up that evening. Then again on 2-22-18.  I made numerous calls and complaints until their bins were finally picked up.I will be happy to resolve this issue when I receive a refund check in the mail.  I am requesting $176 for no service for 2+ months and at least 10 hours of my time in managing this problem.  Thank you.[redacted]

Customer will be credited for a full two months of service. Supervisor will contact customer to resolve issue in spite of customer cancellation.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. While Republic attempts to explain away the $69+ fees as a required fee from the state, county, and state, they only explain the $24.99 mandatory fee.  None of the other competitive garbage collectors in our neighborhood charge these fees on top of their service for regular residential weekly garbage pick up  Republic's competitors charge a total between $70-90 quarterly.  What this company is doing is fraudulent, to say the least, by inflating their quarterly billing with fees which are, by other companies of their caliber, included in the price of service. Now here is the most interesting part: I called Republic today and asked how much it would cost, providing my neighbor's address, to have residential service, and I was quoted $77.44 quarterly "with all the taxes and fees included".  I asked if this was a new customer special price and was told "No".  When I asked why then, was my bill over $160, I was told that "your fee will increase $3 to $4 a year".  Then, when I pointed out we have had Republic for 8 years, and this would only be $32 over an 8 year period, I was told, "I mean it goes up $3 to $4 a month each year".  Bottom line, Republic has been charging me over $160 a quarter, but when I call to see how much service costs, I am told it is a mere $77.44 including all the fees and taxes. How then, can they justify adding these fees totally $69.16 to my bill?  This is fraud!
