Noom is a tremendous support in that there is a steady stream of information, encouragement, education and understanding available to you as you move through your weight-loss process. The psychology component is such a big one for so many of us, and Noom addresses it like it's never been addressed before.
I think this has been a very good program for me. I’ve been on diets over the years. I like the information given every day on why diets work and things to help along the way. The group coach and fellow dieters are also a nice support group. Similar to ww but no need to go anywhere. Would definitely recommend to others
Something that finally works!!! I've lost 20 lbs in 36 days and I feel better than I have in years! My kids are loving the fresh and delicious way we cook now and we're all healthier for it. Food doesn't rule my world anymore! Thanks Noom, you've helped me save my life.
The daily readings have made me think in ways that I never did before. There’s so much information about the psychology of eating that I save them to reread when I need to review.
The Noom approach to weight loss is working for me. It assumes I'm smart, that I want to understand what my mind and body are dealing with when I set the intention to be healthier and lose weight, and that I'll do better when I am aware of others on the journey with me. Logging food is easy in the app, so I find I do it more reliably.
Noom has been very helpful and insightful. I have learned new things as well as reinforced what I already knew. The daily check-ins are great for keeping me on track. It is a low-cost alternative to other more expensive behavioral change and weight loss programs.
The most motivating and convenient weight loss program I've ever been a part of. Really great for a busy full-time teacher and Mom. The app provides excellent information and a wonderful support system!
Love the psychology component of this app!
I like it. It's obvious a lot of work was put into the research for building the app. It's all stuff I have come across before, like any good dieter, but it's helpful to find it all in one place. I have learned to tolerate the fluctuations in weight without going nuts and throwing up my hands. I am in it for the long haul. I have learned why my urge to eat comes and goes and how to handle that. Logging the food in every meal really keeps me on track. And being able to whine to my group gives me a lot of support. I have a long way to go, and I lose weight very slowly so I need something to keep me going all the way to the end. I would recommend Noom to a friend.
I have heard a few complaints about the administrative end so I hope you are working on that.
I really love this program. I admit I was skeptical at first but after starting and talking with my coach and then my group I was totally at ease about the validity of NOOM. I have done very will with the progress and feel like my program is catered to me and that's what makes it work. I don't feel like I'm on a diet at all because the focus is changing habits while not depriving yourself to the point where you are unhappy and fall back into old bad habits. I look at NOOM as a life style change, one that I was in desperate need of but didn't realize till I took that first step and tried it. One of the best parts was that 2 week trial risk free to help me get over my reservations and see what the program was really about. I had no problem continuing at the end of the 2 weeks.
This app is really comprehensive. It educates on all aspects of weight loss and healthy lifestyle: physiology, psychology/behavioral science, nutrition. It does it in small bite size chunks, though, so you don't get overwhelmed. It turns your phone into a pedometer, has a huge database of food, including the menus from all major restaurant chains, so logging what you eat is simple, and then it does the calorie counting. I am successfully changing my behavior and, this time, it's for the long term.
I love Noom. This program looks at the whole person not just what's on the outside.
I have been extremely pleased with the program overall. I believe they made it quite clear at the beginning that they could not answer specific health related questions. I believe the plan is sensible and flexible. I LOVE the daily tasks and psychology tips that help me with my relationship with food. I love that there is no dividing foods into GOOD or BAD foods. Yet their Green Yellow Red food system guides you towards healthy eating. I “think” I paid for a customized menu plan (can’t quite remember) but I didn’t find it particularly useful, and continue to use my own recipes which I modify as desired. I appreciate that a goals coach checks in with me at least once per week and often more times. She is very supportive and has helped me get to the root of some of my negative thoughts or concerns. The support group is fun, but it is what you and the group make of it. (There are also Noomers who have made Facebook support groups etc.) I have been nudged out of my winter sedentary state to moving much more. I am pleased with my weightloss to date. I’ve been at it for 5 weeks. I think one of the most valuable things I am gaining is a healthy attitude about eating. I’ve long felt guilty for any treats and I’m learning that treats in moderation are part of the fun of life. I have had to learn and am still learning what “moderation” means and looks like. I’m working on changing my “all or nothing” attitude. I appreciate that I can spend my time with the tasks at my convenience. Support is at my fingertips and I don’t have to drive to a group meeting. Oh, and another important thing: I like the permission to hop on the scale everyday. I’m learning about the ups and downs of weightloss. I am happy to be deveoping a healthy relationship with food. I highly recommend Noom!
Good program/app. I just need someone to physically restrict me or nothing works.
I am finding Noom very helpful and motivating. Although I don’t use every opportunity to post or respond to the article prompts, I find something to use in my weight loss journey almost every day. If there was a way to receive a less comprehensive program at a reduced cost once I am at a maintenance level I would definitely subscribe. However, because that does not seem to be an option I will find a similar free app but I will miss Noom when I get to that point.
I’m loving Noom! The psychological approach is perfect for me! I have tried so many things to lose weight over the past few years, but nothing has worked till Noom.
My experience with the group has been great with my fellow Noomers. The group coach is mostly there to issue group challenges. I haven’t seen a lot of interaction except for pushing the like button on most every post. I would like the group coach to answer questions posted, rather than to just “like” them.
Most of the time the articles address urban Millennials who work full-time in a sedentary office job. As a middle-aged rural Noomer, some of the content is a bit childish, but I can easily get the point of what they’re trying to say. I like the honest approach that weight loss often isn’t fun and/or easy.
The psychology behind this program has changed my thinking, and the healing of disordered thinking about food has been life changing for me.
It is encouraging and the articles are very good. I’ve been more successful with this than another other program I’ve tried.
I LOVE Noom! It works :) I've tried *** several times, ***, ***, *** and have achieved more success with Noom than any of the others. I love the food tracking program best of all I've tried. My only suggestion for improvement would be adding a water tracker, otherwise I like everything about it. Especially my success.
I love this app! Motivational & user-friendly. Its like having a personal trainer/nutritionist/psychologist in my back pocket.
This app has been really easy to use. I can link up to my Fitbit! Very satisfied.
