I like it because if focuses more on psychology than specific diet or exercise but both diet and exercise are certainly part of it. I will not, however renew mainly because it is mobile only and I really don't like reading much on my phone. If they had an actual web interface, I would likely renew. This is something to consider for any who suffer from the ailment O.L.D. and you eyesight isn't quite what it was.
I was a little upset that I could not cancel my subscription, after the trial. I found that unfair.
I find the group coaching not very helpful
I like the short info threads each day, they are very friendly and readable.
Signed up for a $1 trial account and got charged 149 on the last day of the trial. It was advertised that it is only $24 and some change per month and that you can cancel anytime.
Customer Service is refusing to refund any money. Opened case with payment processor as well to get my money back.
Ripoff and should be illegal.
The program is ok but what I don't like about it is when I type the dish I made and give all the ingredients the program never expect my dish. When my two months are up I don't want to continue with the program. I don't think it is worth the money. so will you let me know when my two months are up????
Definitely a bit disappointing. I think they are on to something with their approach but they definitely do not give the support that they claim to before you sign up. I lost a little weight initially but it very quickly stopped and, no matter how much I reach out for suggestions, the answer is "just keep following the plan". The articles that they share, as well as the "advice" they give, just seems very canned and not really tailored to an individual. The app works fairly well but it could be better, for instance, there is no way to create a meal and then use it repeatedly if it is something you eat often (for instance my breakfast is pretty typical each day but I have to enter each item every day). All in all, I have paid for the first two months so I will continue (about 4 1/2 weeks in now) but if things do not improve I will not continue.
The Pros:
1) My coaches are helpful, friendly, and non-judgmental. I feel like I can say anything about my diet/weight/journey and they will understand and guide gently.
2) I also enjoy the articles which are nice reminders of things I already knew/know, but also there is information in there I didn't know, had never thought of, and now do, and it does help me make better choices.
3) I like the reminders to log meals, and the ease of logging weight.
4) The plan, as far as payment, was very clear to me. I would receive 2 weeks free, and on the 14th day, had I not notified them to cancel, they would charge me 4 months at that time, and that is exactly what happened. I had no trouble understanding any of that. Now, I have not tried to cancel. Hopefully *ifI get to that point, it will go smoothly as well.
The Cons:
1) Mostly, the technology/app. First, you can't log and save recipes unless you have an iPhone. That leaves a ton of Android users scrounging to do the best they can and normally not doing so well finding alternatives or similarities, so basically, our calorie counts and food colors are not as accurate, just because of the platform we have.
2) Second, the database of foods needs serious work. I log a food that already has a color, suggesting that it's been cleared through the database by someone ostensibly, and the nutrition facts/serving size etc. aren't remotely close to what the package says and while I know things change over time, when it's something I've been eating for ages... I think I'd know if they suddenly decided to start including 4 spring rolls instead of three, or doubling the portion size of a frozen TV dinner. When I DO log a new food and provide them with stats, I get a message saying, "we'll let you know when your food has been added to the database". Well, I've been doing that for 5 weeks now and have never heard, nor are my foods coming up the next time I try and log them. So it does make logging food difficult and inaccurate and that is something that SHOULD be one of the most accurate things about the program. I'm not sure who is working on checking out data but they should hire people to do more of it and every restaurant in the US that has a nutritional menu should be uploaded into the system. With today's technology and data entry, it should be a fast thing. There has to be some formula used to calculate calorie density, so it shouldn't take so long to give a food a color.
3) The group thing will only work if the people in your group are dedicated and take the time to share and talk, and mine don't really. They post their workouts, but not much more, even when the app tells them to share something specific.
4) I wish there were a version for computers. I have carpal tunnel and while I can type on a computer just fine normally, using my phone for EVERYTHING related to the program is difficult, especially when typing out long messages to your coach or on the group, or logging a meal that has lots of little components in it (hence the need for a recipe builder for us Android users).
Overall, I like the program and I'm glad I chose to pay for the first four months. We'll see if anything has improved with the technology in that time span and make another decision for the next four after that. The technology does seem to get in the way of the ease of tracking calories and increasing "green" foods, when you are eating many things that aren't in the database to tell you what color food category its in. However, I think overall, they have a good thing going. It definitely needs improvements though.
My review is mixed. I find some of the daily “lessons” to be off putting especially when subjective “test” answers are not in agreement with NOOM so the user is marked with a big red “wrong” screen.
Also eating motivations vary with the meal. Some of us eat breakfast everyday because of habit, not stress, not other people, not happiness, etc. Lunch might be because of time and people. Dinner might be because convenience or food presence. Snacks might be stress related. Real life doesn’t fit into the module.
I think it has some good points or ideas. I don't like the constant having to go to a group (people I don't know) and trying to give thoughts or comments. The coach is a good tool and she has given me some ideas but mostly it is things I knew. I am also not very good with my phone and would prefer to use my computer. If you do everything on your phone might be good for you. It is also very hard to get accurate steps. I don't carry my phone with me and I know it doesn't register my steps correctly. I like the ability to keep track of what I eat but the calories are not accurate. If I am cooking from home I am not going to figure out the calorie count of every ingredient that I use and if I eat out or buy foods they aren't listed. (We eat a lot of turkey or chicken in place of beef and this is not an option) Very hard to get a good idea of what I have actually eaten. I liked the $1 trial and it did get me started but after I got into the regular program things dropped off big time. I want to change how I eat but I don't want to give up all the foods that I love. If that is what will get me to loose weight it will be ok but it will not stay off. I want to be able to eat foods that I love. I don't eat it if I don't like it. I don't eat a lot of veggies and don't like a like so telling me that is what I need to do is not having the desired effect. I lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks and in the last 3 weeks I have repeatedly put 5 lbs back on and taken off. So I am not seeing this as a long term product. The only way the weight comes off is to not eat. I am always hungry so there isn't enough to satisfy me. So far I haven't learned much that I didn't already know. This is just a way to keep you accountable if that is what you need. Very disappointed. Will continue since I have prepaid for a period of time but will not renew.
The frustrating thing is that not a lot of menu items when trying to log in your meals for the day. It seems that you have to add A LOT of your meals yourself
I think there's a lot of good things about the program. It's a lot of stuff I've read/heard before, but putting it all together is helpful. And the psychological approach is definitely a little different, and I've been having a lot of success in rewiring my thinking! I find that I use the app for inspiration and accountability, but I'm not really following the program. I'm sort of doing my own thing. I like the food logging portion (not something new but I like that it's very accessible and it's helpful to be keeping track) and the group (accountability is so important for me). It's really disturbing to me that there are so many reviews that people have trouble cancelling the free trial, end up getting charged, and don't seem to be able to get refunded. That's not really the behavior of a company I want to support, so that's reflected in my rating.
I joined this through my place of work, as I was in the fat girl club requiring me to take a program in order to receive funds to put towards medical expenses. I had looked at this program prior to having to enroll in a program. I thought at first that it seemed very supportive. Let's face it though, at this age we all know what we need to do to lose weight. I found the program entirely to be too time consuming. Too much information, that you already know, regurgitated in multiple ways over and over and over. Enough! I work hard and don't want extra quizzes to do, or log every flipping morsel I shove in my gob all day long. I had a lot of success with keto and ***, which I will go back to. I have not lost any weight with Noom, but I feel more guilty and frustrated now.
About a month in I am not that impressed. I like tracking my meals, it makes me more accountable and aware. Some of the articles are decent, but there are way too many for me to read them all even if I save them. I could never get my fitbit to sync with the app even though I did everything the way they told me to. My coach was not really that helpful and pretty slow to respond. Will not continue after my three months is done. Good concept but it falls short of my expectations especially for the cost.
All the acronyms, hashtags and corny stuff like that is super annoying. My "coach" is pretty useless and I am not happy with her. I've heard countless noom users say the same thing. I just don't really even respond because it's so frustrating as she doesn't really do anything helpful. I love the recipe aspect and how it shows you what fits into your budget for the day, the app is easy to use. My group coach posted statistics that have been proven false multiple times which was also annoying, but I like the group in general.
I realize now that there is a LOT to this program, and that education is a very large part of it, but it seems to be designed for females, professionals, younger people. As a rural, 65 year old man, wanting to find a way to lose some weight, it doesn't really work for me some of the times. Its a little too cutesy, too written for the younger kids.
What it has done is get me moving, getting the steps in, and tracking what I'm eating, and how much.
I'm a little put off when it cues me at 10 am to eat lunch, and with a lot of the other little cues it uses as well. Seems like too much. But I've paid for the full six months, and will follow it for the full six months, but I will not renew.
I am disappointed in the meal tracking options. There is not an opportunity to track macros so my goal of 30-45 grams of carbohydrates per meal as part of my pre-diabetes plan must be evaluated in another way.
The food tracking is not as good as free apps out there. Groups and coaches are hot or miss. Love the platform (app)
I think the program is very good, but I also think that it's easy to skim through the intro materials and not be fully aware of what you are getting into in terms of cost.
Signed up for a Noom 2-week trial. Before the 14 days were over, I wrote and said I hadn’t used the program, could I extend the trial period? If not, I’d like to cancel.
I was told that the only way I could cancel was to download the app (which I hadn’t done). I downloaded the app but couldn’t sign in. Through support, I asked them to reset the password, took 24 hours to get that. Wrote another complaint about not being able to sign in and was again, was told that I should be able to sign in. Complained again, that I wanted cancel the subscription that I hadn’t used.
Was ignored. Signed into the app but couldn’t find where to cancel. Sent another email to support detailed my wish to cancel, detailing the numerous charges to my credit card. Did not receive a response. Called my credit card company and lodged complaint. Put stop on future payments. *** called them but were unable to reach anyone.
After researching on another website, I was able to cancel the subscription but there is no way to contact them directly about refunding the additional charges. Found a website where others were complaining about the billing practices and was advised to contact you.
Please let me know what additional information you require from me.
Kind regards

The app kept freezing up my phone. I uninstalled it during the two week trial period. I assumed that was it. I got my credit card bill to discover I had been charged $129.00, and it's non-refundable, according to their website. You must cancel your trial subscription, or you will be charged. It's impossible to cancel it if you don't have the app installed, and since I live in a very rural area with limited access to internet or cell service, the app doesn't work, so I can't cancel it. I've tried to cancel through the website listed on the Revdex.com website, and have called two different numbers to try to cancel, but so far, nothing has worked. I don't feel like I was ever told how much it was going to cost, and I feel like I was tricked into losing money, not weight!
In addition, the "coaches" are clearly bots who never responded to questions I asked during my trial. This service may work for some, but for folks in rural areas with limited cell covereage, its too much much money for too impersonal a service.
Overall satisfied. It would be nice to have a little more control over saved data. Good layout but accessibility could improve. Gets a little overly wordy at times. Not a fan of the group sharing, but it makes sense for a lot of other people. Glad it’s an option. Would recommend.
