Noom Reviews (%countItem)

I’m in my 5th week, and am finding the program quite helpful, so far. I sometimes have trouble absorbing the large amounts of information provided, but the pop quizzes and reviews are good tools to help the information sink in. That number on the scale remains my most important motivator, so I need to concentrate on all of the other rewards that weight loss provides. I feel lucky to have lost 7 pounds on the program, since I have yet to stay within my allotted calorie range. (some days I’m waaay over, so need to work harder on that). Love the green, yellow, & red food categories!

I really like this program as it not only tracks what you eat and the steps you take, but through team and group leaders it supplies the support you need to succeed.

I'm enjoying noom, and it has helped me to keep on track. I am currently down 10lbs and going. I would like to see them to expand on the food logging. Quite a few times I try to put something in and it's not there, which makes it a pain to try and log. Having a coach to check in with is great and I believe that is the reason I have stuck with it as long as I have.

There are things I like about Noom and things I don’t like about Noom. It needs a way to edit what you say when you write to your group and then post it before you catch your mistake. I misspelled a word and wanted to go back and change it. I think you need to work on editing abilities.
I also hate your pop quizzes. LOL I feel like I’m back in school. It would be nice to keep records of my past menus. I don’t see a place for that.
Now for the positive! I like the step counter and that you encourage us to walk further each day. It has helped. The accountability and food recording is good. I haven’t lost much weight on this diet or new life change as you call it, but I have learned some valuable lessons. Over-all Noom is good but lack of the ability to edit is disappointing. It makes me not want to write.

Its a good place to log food Helpful tips on healthy eating Coach reminders are ok

I think the app itself is very good and easy to use. It’s really made me aware of what I’m eating and what I put in my mouth. It has totally changed how I think about food and the choices I make. The psychology tips and tricks are pretty cool, and the steady flow of information about food is great. It works well for me as no food is off limits but It encourages me to limit the red foods now.
I’ve lost 8lb in 5 weeks.
I give 4 stars as I just don’t get the coaching angle. It’s irregular and impersonal. I’d also like to see some daily exercise challenge in there on top and of steps.

I’ve been on Noom for 5 weeks now and have lost 6 pounds. I didn’t put my 20 extra pounds on in 5 weeks and I don’t expect to lose it all in 5 weeks. I was rather skeptical initially because it’s been very hard for me to lose weight as I’ve aged and I didn’t want to give up going out socially or eating certain foods. I don’t have to on Noom, although I have learned to limit them. Logging my food everyday can be a pain but it keeps me accountable and focused on making better choices. The color codes that they give food are so helpful and the articles that pop up everyday are really useful tools that break down why we eat the way we do and how to change that. My only criticism is that sometimes there is just too much to read. They are short, but I’ve got a lot going on in my life right now. Thankfully I can always go back read them when I get a free minute and they can be saved to my personal library to go back and review. There are personal and group counselors which can be very helpful for some but I haven’t really felt the need to interact. Overall, I have been steadily losing weight at a pace that I control, and am very happy with Noom and recommend it.

Love the app and the focus on changing behaviors. My only issue is that sometimes the “cutesy” gets to be overly annoying. On those days I’m reading but too irritated to absorb. I power through and get past it so that I can again embrace it fully the next day.

If I could give Noom 4 1/2 Stars, I would. It truly is a great app. Most of the information has been very revealing and quite educational. The Noom App also makes great use of multiple approaches to rational motivation. I also feel that the price is very reasonable. The only thing stopping me from giving Noom 5 Stars is scan function for the nutritional information for products. More often than not, I have to go in and manually alter the nutritional info, as the details that the Noom App comes up with are inaccurate. That is my only negative critique. On the whole, Noom has been a Godsend.

It is good - I like the calorie count process and tracking everything - you need a meal builder. I don't see the value in the coach to be honest.

I’d give NOOM a Five Star rating except the build a recipe doesn’t work easily to find after creating one. For meals you repeat frequently you have to enter each item every time. WW had a great tool for that. Love the NOOM lessons. Always wanted to know the psychology connected to obesity and how to control it.

If you need an extra push and some accountability in your quest for health then try this program! It was nice to have a professional to talk to every day, plus a group to interact with. I liked seeing my foods broken down into the color coding of green, yellow, and red. It’s nice to not feel guilty about having a dessert here and there when logging. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was I couldn’t have used more feedback on my daily log. Like a review on the foods I had eaten and suggested alternatives.

So far, it's been great, very challenging. I needed more than just someone telling me what to eat. They deal with the reasons why you eat what you eat. Makes so much sense. Sometimes kind of technical. Having my own coach, and a group of noomers who know what I'm going through is very helpful. They also give you challenges which I find very motivating. They give you an amount of steps to finish everyday, which has made me move more. Looking forward to the next couple of months.

I give it a 3-4. You definitely get out what you put in though. More success comes from how involved you are with your coach, group, and the daily logging and reading. The app could be designed better. I don't like how you get kicked out to the home page after you log a meal. I would like to stay in that part and log several meals at once without getting sent back to the home page each time. The recipes can also use some work. There are some input errors and they don't have serving sizes. I also think some of the recipes are missing ingredients. There was one where they took out salt but didn't add any other spices to increase flavor, which has to have been a mistake. I am glad I tried it though, and the categories of food is helpful.

It is working, I'm losing weight and find a lot of the information very applicable, it does feel not very personable at times and I think it is a bit expensive for what you get.

Positives: Interaction w live persons is great. The app, in general, mostly easy/user friendly in terms of the 'articles,' logging in info. The fact that one pays for it is a good thing. The accountability to oneself and the mix of easy to read info/articles with some element of humor and quick reading is very helpful. Over time, a lot of info does settle and can be positively used/integrated into ones life.
Downsides: Can't save/create meals inputted into 'log meals' on my android smart phone but apparently its possible via an IOS. VERY FRUSTRATING and one reason why I would prob not use this long-term. Paying same amount of money for more limited service. Its very time consuming to keep inputting repetitive info and esp when I want to create some permanent meals/recipes that I use. I can only go back and 'repeat a meal for the previous several days but have to look it up and they disappear after about 4 or 5 days which is not useful when I repeat some items only 1x week. There is a LOT to read and no way to fully integrate/go over and organize the articles beyond just saving them or screenshotting them. Not all the already in there nutritional info is exact per comparison w actual items. There is no clear info re: how to and when to use the 1:1 and scheduling a time that works best for a back and forth dialog. One can be assigned someone who lives in a different time zone which can be a bit challenging.

Most of the scenarios presented do not pertain to me and I refuse to post any group comments. I've spent my entire life listening to other people whine and now that I am retired, I don't have to have that stress anymore. Stress that led to my weight gain, by the way. The program will work for most people and give them something to focus on. I will continue the program until it's time to re-up and then I will cancel. Have not lost any weight whatsoever but have become more mindful of what I am eating. The personal coach angle is a joke, it's obviously an algorithm prompted by the answers I give. I only hear from my personal coach maybe once a week if I am lucky and that is only to have him ask another question that takes him a week to read my response.

Noom is great for beginner dieters who are looking for basic strategies for weight loss. It has a good accountability system built into its platform and the articles are fun, interactive, and easy to read. I wouldn’t say it’s a “new” weight loss strategy, although it is innovative in that it is app-based. It didn’t really work for me, but I don’t necessarily think that is a flaw in the program’s efficacy! That being said, the price just didn’t seem worth it in the end.

3 1/2 stars. I like the focus on psychology. The information is very good and presented in a way that makes it easier to digest over time. My main dislike is the food logging portion of the app. It is way behind other food logging apps such as *** Or ***. The food database is lacking although I understand that this will improve over time. But it should allow you to add new foods as well as nutrition info to your food log. Sometimes when I scan an item and it doesn’t show up I can add it sometimes I can’t. Sometimes I can find my addition sometimes I can’t. After taking the time to enter a food and all of its info, it is very frustrating to not be able to find it next time you need to log it. There should also be an option to just add the calories. That way if you can’t enter a certain food you can at least input the known calories. With Improvements to the food logging part I would have no problem giving 4.5 to 5 stars.

I think the app is designed for 30 somethings who live their lives in abbreviated texts and sentences. As with all weight loss programs “you” have to put in the work. Having someone text me that I didn’t read something is about zero help. The group thing is worthless, I’m 70 and I’m grouped with what seems to be younger women, we don’t have much in common. Plus, I need to lose serious weight and most in the group are satisfied to lose 10 to 15 lbs., we don’t have a lot in common. Just my opinion but I’m not impressed, the only thing that keeps me going is the $130 that I invested.
