I am enjoying the program and losing weight following their behavior adjustments, tricks, and hints. I sometimes feel I have gotten a bit too much information to quickly and feel overwhelmed which is a reason for the missing fifth star. The other issue is their lack of adjustments or incorporation of modified exercise suggestions for those of us who have physical challenges.
Total scam. If you do not opt out of the two week trial they charge your card $149 and then tell you it's fine to cancel, but no refund.
This is literally theft.
I used Noom for a very short time and then stopped. I did not realize it was a “no notice” auto renewal program. 7 months after I quit using this program they took $159 out of my account with no notice of a subscription renewal. When I immediately asked them to refund my money they refused, keeping half. They said it was my fault because their “no refund” policy was emailed to me when I signed up. Not allowing the customer to choose to continue with the service and stealing the money, refusing to give it back is theft. I now have months of a service I do not want and $79 simply taken from my bank account. This is a greedy dishonest company, do not get stuck!!!
I followed their procedures for canceling the subscription which was to message them through the app. I have confirmation my acct was cancelled. However now I have come to realize they continued to charge me for 14 months. When I have tried to contact them via the app, via customer support, etc I am repeatedly met with a form email. I have tried to call them Ana’s again they simply refer to the website and the app.
Hi ***,Thank you for taking the time to submit your complaint to the Revdex.com. It looks like a member of our Support Team has reached out to you and has helped clarify. In the event you did not receive their message, I've gone ahead and provided it below:"We offer a few different ways to sign up for a subscription, in-app through the Google Play or Apple App stores, and through the web. You signed up for your first subscription (August 2017) through the web, but were never charged as you canceled within your 2 week trial period. Your second subscription on the other hand, was purchased through iTunes on 12//2017 - you were able to sign up for a subscription this way by logging into your Noom account that's in a free state (which is what state your account would have been in December 2017, as your program was canceled in August of that year), and choosing the "Upgrade now!" or "Choose a course!" (in 2017, the prompts were a little different) in the upper right hand corner, choosing a plan, and signing up with your iTunes account. You would have been required to put in your apple ID password or use your touch ID to verify that it was you confirming the purchase. This is very close to the process you go through when downloading an app or purchasing a song or video through iTunes. When our subscriptions are purchased through the web, we have control over the billing process and have the ability to issue refunds ourselves. Unfortunately though, when subscriptions are purchased in-app through Apple, we lose that ability. Apple has policies in place that do not allow us to issue refunds, edit or even view your subscription information (the only details we can see are your purchase dates and after your subscription has been canceled). Recently, Apple has been rejecting refund requests and even though we've contacted them to open a conversation about the way refunds are managed, Apple's privacy policies are very strict and they wouldn't even share details of their refund policy or what qualifies a request for a refund. Ultimately, when our users choose to purchase through Apple, we are unable to make any changes to subscriptions. The good news is that most of our users have had success with receiving the refunds after putting in a second request. You can use this link and if you choose the following options, you will have the ability to talk to an Apple representative directly: Billing & Subscriptions > Subscriptions & Purchases > The topic is not listed > then you can put "Noom approved my refund but you rejected it" or something along those lines. You should then be given the option to reach out by phone, chat or email. I'm sure if you explain the situation, they should be able to process your refunds. Again, I wish there was more we could do here! Thanks again for your patience and I apologize again for all of the stress here! Please let me know how this works out and if you're able to get the refund."Best,The Noom Team
I love Noom! It is hands down the best program I've used that presents an all-around picture of the tough job of losing weight. They use science, psychology, and strategies to help you change bad eating habits into good eating habits. The program includes movement (exercise), coaches, support groups, and healthy habits. No foods are off limits; however, the program helps you learn to control what you eat and how much you eat. I have used so many different ways of losing weight over the years, but I always put the weight back on. Noom is so different from all the others. I have confidence this is the last program I'll ever need.
I really like Noom. I have been on the program for 6 weeks and have lost 11 lbs so far. For me, that is great progress. Logging what I eat and having Noom classify the foods into categories has helped me a lot. I have learned that portion size has not been a problem as much as what food choices I have made in the past. It is helping me be more mindful of my choices. The articles are also quite helpful to help me understand myself better. I’m learning to cut myself some slack too, and not be so rigid and obsessed over trying to lose weight. It has also helped me to be reminded that no food is off limits, and that I just need to be mindful how much of it I have. I like having the coaches, but to be honest I haven’t used them that much yet. I’m not a huge fan of participating in group activities but some people may find that type of sharing helpful. I signed up for Noom when they offered an 80% discount and I have not regretted it. Hopefully by the time my one year contract expires I will have lost my weight and have the tools necessary to not need Noom anymore.
I've not only enjoyed the ease of keeping track of how many calories I've consumed, but also the Psych Tips on how to stay on my journey to loose weight.
Noom isn’t a diet. It’s not a quick weight loss program. Noom teaches lifelong strategies for healthy weight loss and an active lifestyle by making the user accountable and responsible for choices. There’s a group coach and a personal coach - both of mine are great. Every day the program offers helpful information on how to make changes, what foods to eat and why, how to overcome obstacles and how to change for the long haul. Every morning you log your weight. Then you log meals and snacks. Your steps are logged via your phone activity. This is lifestyle change and it’s good!
I am really loving this App. I tried the 2 week trial and committed I think that is the word. Commitment. this app works if you work the app. It has helped me to lose 7 lbs so far and I am making lasting changes in the way I think and respond to food. It is the only thing I have found, after years of trying, that has helped me stick to my goals and achieve!
Thank you Noom.
I have had good success with Noom. The articles are informative and brief! Easy to complete even with busy schedules. Noom keeps you accountable with no judgement and provides a group for support and sharing issues. So glad I joined Noom.
It took me a few weeks to start seeing results. However, I had two friends who had much success with the program so I decided to stick with it. My coach Hunter helped me identify areas where I could improve and almost immediately I began losing weight. It is helping me to make healthier choices every day!
I have used another type of program three times. Once I dropped 85 pounds, once 45 and the other about 20. In that order. While I did keep some of the weight off, I didn't truly change my lifestyle. For the first time, I feel like I have changed my habits, my relationship with food and am living a healthier lifestyle on Noom. I am held accountable, but also have a healthy mindset that allows me slips and failures in a positive way. The coach I was assigned is amazing. The group I am part of is inspirational and supportive. I feel proud now that I am setting a healthy example of healthy eating, thinking and exercise for my kids. The only thing I would change is I would like computer/desktop access to the program so I am not always appearing to be on my phone and can print out recipes.
Noom is an incredible program filled with practical, helpful and scientific tips for real life weight loss and sustainable lifestyle changes! I have tried lots of other weight loss programs, some more than once, and I have never had such success, such a feeling of change and empowerment as I have since starting Noom.
I love almost everything about Noom. I enjoy the quirkiness of it, the hashtags, the references, etc. I am learning a lot about myself, about nutrition and exercise, about how my body works. I am learning to be gentler with myself and that a slip is not the end of the world and doesn't have to lead to the all-or-nothing mentality that I've had in the past (I screwed up - may as well eat everything in the cupboard - lol). The only issue I have with it is that it could be proofread better. Sometimes there are repeated words or missing words. My brain kind of gets stuck at those places while I try to figure it out. I'm a part-time self-employed typist and proofreader (in the evenings after my day job) and those things really stick out to me and bother me. If you ever need anyone to proofread for you, let me know! ;)
Noom does exactly what it says it does. Slow, effective, sustainable weight loss. I'm five weeks in and I've lost about 12lbs. I'm learning about the psychology of eating and how to eat for effective weight loss and how to maintain, once I reach my goal. It's a process and a complete lifestyle change. You have to want it to work and believe it will work, stick to the steps and commit. I feel that it is well worth the $159 for 8 months.
Noom is a great tool to change the way you preceive a healthy life. The tips and support are terrific. It's not a diet tool, it's a lefestyle tool.
NOOM is very easy to understand. I appreciate the articles. I haven't really experienced the personal coaching I was expecting but am still waiting to see how it all unfolds. My one disappointment is the limited food database and the errors in calorie amounts I have discovered. I would recommend NOOM.
While the app does contain several pieces of nutritional advice that I've heard elsewhere, the way it is packaged in short snippets, and the explanation of the psychology behind it has helped me really focus on what matters. I knew when I purchased that I would be purchasing for a full year, so I haven't had any issues with payment.
I love this program! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I don't feel like I received enough guidance from my coach. She would only message me once a week, and sometimes not at all. I think the coaches need to be a little more attentive and involved. Other than that the learning material and tasks are great!
Overall, Noom seems useful to me. Having tried various diets over decades, Noom offers something different, which is a new way to think about food. I do not like my individual coach, whom I find trite and condescending. The group coach is ok. the coaching is not the major benefit to me, however. Thus readings and the logging took are the most helpful.
