The program is supported by evidence-based research. The app could use some work. It would be nice to have a food database that is easier to search and more inclusive. Also, many of the questions, goals, etc. should be searchable afterward. They require that you take a screenshot to save it to your phone. To be more reflective, it would be nice to look back at some of those goals and questionnaires.

Noom has been the (nearly) perfect solution to my weight loss needs: it's online, so it's private; but it has a support group of other Noomers. The daily requirement to log weight, and exercise, and food intake help keep me accountable and match up to my weight loss goal. I love having a coach checking in on how I'm doing and keeping me focused on goals. The best Noom feature are the daily posts that address the psychological components of losing weight. They come in short bites, are broken up into logical topics, combine lots of stats and research, and best of all, include a lot of humor. Whoever writes these deserves a lot of applause! Taken all together Noom is working for me: my tastes and my daily habits are changing, and I'm losing weight.
There are just a couple of areas where I think there could be improvements:
1) The daily logging of food could be improved by letting you toggle between meals without going back to the main screen. (Sometimes you forget something.) Also a feature that let you plan out a tentative menu for all the day's meals would let you adjust your planned choices and stay within calorie budgets.
2). The New York/big city centric can be limiting. This could easily be fixed by adding a few examples or suggestions that represent folks living out in the country (like me) or in small towns.
I am already singing Noom's praises to anyone who wants why I look so healthy and happy!
Thank you Noom for inviting my comments.

The premise of Noom is outstanding. The daily lessons are presented thoughtfully. Humor is good. On the downside, I was disappointed when the group was formed. It's much too large and feels very impersonal. The coach pipes in daily with wisdom and tasks but doesn't follow through. My goal specialist asks good questions, but I get the feeling I am one of way too many people on her list. This program is good, but if you need strong support it best be available from other sources.

NOOM has shown me that I, and no one else, is responsible for feeling better and loosing weight. I never thought that I would change my life so much.
The food is not given to me but life changing ideas are. I feel empowered to walk, to not endure the pressure of being overweight. I have medical issues and am in a hurricane recovery zone and have on going stress. I had given in to all of this and now I know I don’t have to continue with that mind set. I choose to use and benefit with all the ideas and possibilities that NOOM suggests and I will continue with this healthy decision!

This is a great tool for weight loss! I'll start with the positive. I look forward to the articles and lessons each morning. The way they color food into green, yellow and red is working for me and is a nice relief from a no-carb or no-fat type of diet...this is a way to include all foods within a daily calorie budget while still maintaining a focus on healthy calories (no processed diet foods really make the grade). The coach will check in with you and when I really was frustrated she took extra time with me. The group is fun to check in with and provides a nice social piece to the plan.
Now the downside. I signed up for the 4 month service and added an exercise and meal plan for an additional fee. I don't recommend that because there are recipes on the app and the extra $70 (on sale!) got me a vague meal plan for ONE WEEK (I thought they would be sending weekly, but found out I was incorrect) as well as a ONE MONTH workout plan. I do think the workouts have some good ideas, but nothing you couldn't find on *** for free.

+1

I think it is a good program, however it won't work very well for me. I found out right after my free trial ended, that I have some serious health issues that won't allow me to eat as the program recommends. The program I'm forced to follow really doesn't need coaching beyond what I'm getting from my physician. Financially I'm strapped, but the monetary commetment was already made one day before my diagnosis.

I'm currently on week 6 of the program and I have lost 11lbs. I enjoy the daily articles, and they have helped me make better decisions. Since starting Noom I have began to exercise daily and I feel better overall. I'm not really a fan of the group coaching, and my personal coach is somewhat absent. Overall I'm glad I tried this.

The idea behind the app is wonderful. The coaching and daily accountability really help keep me on track. I would give it 5 stars pending some upgrades to the app itself. Being able to see your food analysis by day like you can your weight log is high on my noom wish list. And a way to scan foods without being in your food log would be great. Lastly - Being able to "plan ahead" and put tomorrows meals in today would be a fantastic upgrade.

I have been using the app for 6 weeks and have lost 11.3 pounds! There is a coach that checks in with me once a week and also a support group of people going through the program as well.
If there is one thing I would change, it would be that there be articles and suggestions geared toward retirees as well as people who are still working. Many times they make suggestions that just don't apply. All in all, it is working for me so far and I am feeling highly motivated.

Noom is detailed and thoughtful. It's a terrific food and exercise logging app - the best I have come across, and does build accountability. I dislike the jokey, tongue in cheek way that information is conveyed - it is tiresome and (for me) and doesn't make me want to read or focus on it - which is a shame , because the information is interesting and worthwhile. I wish they would just turn it down a bit. Otherwise, I am impressed and it seems to be working for me, though early days.

Very easy to use calorie counter and cheerful, upbeat advice. Lots of science on weight loss but group chats are not personalized advice.

I signed up for Noom and started the diet on 3/1/19 and have lost 12 lbs. I love all the information provided. It's working for me so far!

I've been using Noom for about 6 or 7 weeks. I think it's worthwhile, and I am seeing results. I won't see the results they predicted when I first signed up, not without lopping of an appendage or two, but should see enough progress by that time to know I got my money's worth. There are several points in the app that could use improvement, and I'm not really certain what the role of the coach is supposed to be... the responses to my questions are often incomplete or it is apparent that my question or comment was not actually read thoroughly before they responded. They aren't always timely, either. The Group is cool, because you can talk to folks who are at the same spot in the program, although it's not as user friendly as it could be. I'd like to see a more complete menu of how to navigate options, but overall, I'd say it's largely as advertised.

My low rating is based on their customer service, not resolving/correcting my billing problem. You would think they would try to resolve my issue, so they would have a satisfied customer as I do like their product. After reading the reviews it seems like making it right with their customers is not part of their mission.

I like being held accountable. I find that it is very wordy and the hashtags get in the way. It is a lot of information. I'm old school, and would have preferred a hands on binder to highlight, circle and skim through. I find going back to the articles not helpful. Reading the reviews I am concerned about the cost after the initial one and the fact that customer service might not be available. I will speak to my coach.

I like the articles each day that combat weight loss superstition and use science in showing how to do it the right way. The coaches are a nice added touch but in my experience we're not very helpful. I've been using Noom alongside *** and have found that the databases are often very different calorie-wise.

This is a review of the company practices and the difficulty I have had with it, not of the program itself. I signed up for the trial, but there was very little instruction on what I was supposed to do. I think I entered my height and weight and one day entered some of my food. I got some auto-responder messages that didn't match the fact that I had not really started on the program and I didn't see any sort of plan. I forgot about it and subsequently went out of town on a business and saw I was charged for $129.00 for several months membership.
I tried to find out how to get a refund but all I could get was an auto-response message on how to cancel after the period I "paid" for. I asked the auto-responder how to contact a live person and was put into another auto-respond loop. Here on the review page I finally found a phone number. we will see if they will give me my money back since I didn't want and am not using their service.

I'd give it a zero if I could. I can not get anything on my phone for the app except logging in food. I have made several attempts to discuss this and try to get the program with no luck so I cancelled my subscription. Noon only cares about getting a $129.00 and has not fixed this. I'm out the money and no one cares. I would not recommend this program to anyone. I wish I'd never seen Noom. What a waste.

7 day free trial is misleading. It is misleading because you can't cancel on the weekend because you have to notify your person who doesn't work on weekends.

I'm quite pleased with the program and am beginning to have some success. The daily teachings based in psychology and physiology are very helpful as is the accountability and support from my coach specialist.
The support from the group couch is less helpful, and I find myself looking at it less. I think there could be ways to foster more sharing and group interaction there.
The app has multiple issues. Most frustrating for me:
1. Doesn't sync between tablet and phone. I like to use my tablet at home, but when I'm out want to use my phone but I either have to re-enter food logging, or take tablet with me or try and guess where im at with my calories for the day... none of which are convenient.
2. Food logging library not great... I frequently have to enter a recipe or food in fitness pal to get the calories and then come back to enter in noom. (and fitness pal is free!)
3. I wish there was a way to look at the weight graph from when I first started five weeks ago, to be able to visually see my progress over longer period of time instead of having to scroll back.
Overall I'm pleased and would recommend the program to others, but sure hope the app gets improved over time.
