I was an A list member and was terminated without notification until I inquired about never receiving emails for weeks. I was told my messages were flagged and I was banned. I asked and did not get clarification as I was harassed by men many times on the site and started to 'fight back.' Why should I be deleted for defending myself from aggressors? Moreover I was told I was issued a refund which I never received.
I want to know where my refund is, why I cant defend myself from harassment and why I wasn't notified my account was closed.

I was banned from OkCupid for no reason. I tried emailing them and calling them. I have been researching OKCupid ever since. It turns out I am not alone at all. In fact, I found out OKC has been involved in some fraudulent activities on their site. For example, the moderators have access to your private messages which do they do read and will also make public at times. What I found odd is when you find a fake profile or a profile in violation of the rules, it is not always addressed. I flagged a profile containing nude pics multiple times, but it wasn't taken down. I guess the male moderators liked the pics so they deemed it ok. To test my theory I reported a profile containing nude pics of a not so attractive person. It was taken down immediately.
The company which runs OKC also runs [redacted].
I chose OKC because it is free. However, this is far from a professional site. There is a reason it grades out as an F.

This company employs dishonest business practices. Specifically, company staff members pose as attractive female users in order to get users to subscribe. The company bans subscribed users who have done nothing wrong in an effort to make it difficult for them to cancel their subscription upon realizing they've been had. The method of banning involves placing cookies on the user's computer and blocking the IP address associated with the user's login attempt. Upon attempting login, the website will render a message asserting technical difficulties, however, general consensus of users acknowledges that this is the message indicating an IP ban from the website. Some users have changed their IP address, removed the cookies, and created a new account to successfully access the website again. However, the business practices employed by the company make it no friend of the consumer. Avoid at all costs.

I subscribe for 6 months to OKpid and after 2 months I have blocked whit no explanation. People be aware is the very unprofessional side which controls all your mail. Tray to contact customer service whit no results.Bad experience and frustrations I will contact better business buro.

Review: The website OKCupid has somehow denied me access to my account and will not provide any assistance in reinstating or unlocking it. I created my account talked to people and went on dates nothing weird. After using the service for about a month I find that I was not able to log into my account and that when I type my correct login info that the site is "having technical difficulties". I find this hard to believe when a friend right next to me can log in on their cellphone. I filed complaint and did not receive any assistance whatsoever from the company. I am trying to access my count and can see from another computer that my profile is still listed on the website. I am simply trying to access my account that I was using the business refuses to answers the emails. How can they expect me to pay for a service that has no customer service.Desired Settlement: I want my profile reinstated and an email from a OKCupid representative to explain why my profile was deactivated without my permission and knowledge and why is it so difficult to reach customer service.

Review: I have been unable to access my OkCupid account for several days. I have sent numerous emails via the companies website but to no avail. There is no customer service phone number available. The company has been unresponsive and neglectful. There is no reason why the site should have "technical difficulties" for a week and not respond promptly to consumer complaints.Desired Settlement: I want to be able to access my account ASAP. No excuses.

Review: I have been a member of Ok Cupid for almost a year and as of last night, my account was deleted and I was banned from the website with absolutely no warning or notice, or even a reason as to why. I have not violated any of the terms of agreement and I have never stepped out of line. I am a transgender woman and it was my understanding that transgender people were allowed on Ok Cupid as per their policy, so I am lead to believe that I was banned because someone reported me simply for being a transgender woman, despite the fact that I am completely up front about it on my profile. I have tried contacting Ok Cupid and requesting to get a reason why I was banned abruptly despite having done nothing wrong.

I don't want to cause any problems, I simply want my account reactivated and a reason given for why it was banned in the first place. The least I deserve is an explanation as to why my account was banned over night as a result of absolutely nothing, and why I was not even given a warning or notice of something regarding this? I have spoken to multiple people on there who have told me that when they get reported, they are notified about being reported.... my account was deleted, banned and locked out without so much as an explanation or warning or even an email telling me why I was banned.

This feels like a personal attack and an act of discrimination, especially considering that I had done absolutely nothing wrong and hadn't broken any of the terms of agreement.Desired Settlement: I have put way too much time and effort into my Ok Cupid profile to be inexplicably banned and I simply want to have my account back or at the very least be able to discuss with someone as to why this has happened... because when a person is reported, they can be reported for anything and it can even be fabricated; and that is the only logical reason I can imagine that I would be banned, because I have never harassed anyone, i've never bothered anyone, i've never broken any rules, and i've reported users who have attacked me with cyber bullying and sexual/transphobic harassment.

I simply want an explanation and a conversation between adults so that I can be explained why I was inexplicably banned, and because I am certain that i've done nothing wrong, I expect my account to be reactivated.

Review: OKCupid has a misleading practice of allowing customers to "disable" their account without informing them that this does not actually halt any paid subscription (called "A-list") they may have purchased via their iPhone app. They do have a screen set up to give people information before they confirm disabling their account but this screen says nothing about "disabling" an account having no impact whatsoever on subscriptions. I discovered that this was the case when my six-month subscription renewed automatically despite my having disabled my account three months earlier.

They said via email they were unable to refund my money as only [redacted] could do so. In another email, someone who said she was the customer service manager would only confirm that only [redacted] can give refunds. She did not address my question regarding their misleading language.

An apology would be great but that won't help anyone else. I feel they are intentionally misleading customers so as to earn more from automatic renewals.Desired Settlement: Be explicit with customers that disabling an account does not impact subscriptions or billing through [redacted] in at least two places -

1. On the "disable my account' confirmation screen

2. On the A-list information page on their Web site

Review: I was one of the few members of this free site that decided to subscribe to their service because I felt it was important to support the developers for their hard work. My account got locked out and I have not received any responses to why or any remediation, I have asked for a full refund of my subscription and cancellation, but they keep billing me and I have not received a response.

I wonder how a site like this can actually make money if they treat their few paying customer so poorly.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my subscription and a cancellation, I do not want to use a site/service that treats its few paying customers so poorly.

Review: I made a profile on the dating site OkCupid.com. Spent hours on there filling out questions to find someone for long term. Not even 2 weeks have gone by and my account is no longer accesible! I've messaged them multiple times with no reply back as to why I can't access my account or why its been deleted......nothing! Site just needs to be shut down and thirr IP address no longer to make a dating site. Review: I need a refund of 47$ for subscribing to their AList feature. 2 days later they kicked me out of the site with no warning, on explanation, with my money in their pocket. There is no customer service number that is answered by a human or states their company name on the recording. It's just a plain answering machine, no way to identity who you've actually called. They have not responded back to me. If I'm locked out of the site, I want to know why because I didn't do anything wrong. I also require a refund for only using 2 days of the 6 month subscription I just paid for.Desired Settlement: I would like the business to let me back into my account and refund the 47$ for the A List subscription.

Review: I was charged for a membership fee on my credit card and was not provided the ability to use the service as no one will respond to my emails to change an account password to log in. Currently my pictures are posted and cannot get access to my account to delete them and I'm being charged as well. I have tried calling the number on my credit card statement and left messages without response along with emails.Desired Settlement: I would like my old email account replaced with a new one so I can access my account online and enjoy the service. I also want 3 months free on A list service as I have not been able to enjoy the service paid for to this point.
