Review: On 3/**/15 I discovered that someone has created and was using an online dating profile on [redacted] that utilized my photos. All photos on the profile are of me. Here is a link to the profile: [redacted]. I assumed the name on the profile "[redacted]" was the person who created it. After much Internet research I discovered that [redacted] was really [redacted] of [redacted] and that she too had no idea this profile had been created. Part of her identity had been stolen just as mine had. OKCupid has no phone number. The number listed on your site is for [redacted]. When I called that number I was told that OKCupid only handles customer service through their website or email. I sent a contact form on 3/**/15 and received an automated response that it had been received. As of this moment, the profile is stilla ctive and the person is continuing to use it. You can tell the last day and time they used it because it posts that information right on the page. [redacted] and I both want this site taken down immediately and OKCupid has not done it. Perhaps you can help us speak to or email and actual human. I think it is very shady when a business doesn't allow any human contact.Desired Settlement: I want the web profile to be removed immeditaly and all of my photos deleted from OK Cupid's database. I walso want the person who created the fake profile to be banned from the site and be accountable for their actions.

Review: I have been unable to log onto OkCupid for 2 days now. There is no customer service number or live person to speak with. I have sent several emails to the support center that have been unanswered. I did a [redacted] search "is OkCupid down" and you wouldn't believe the people who are stating the same thing has or is happening to them. I was only trying to get on the site to delete the account, however, I can't even do this. I have tried several computers, my IPAD and my cell phone which all worked just fine up until Monday afternoon, August [redacted] 2014. Then I went to log back on to delete my profile and I got several different messages such as, "We are currently having technical difficulties", "I had the wrong username and password" to "Sorry, there appears to be something wrong with your account. Let us know if you continue to get this message." I have sent over 10 emails and gotten one response and it was for a old account that had already been closed years ago. I am tired of this company running me around and strongly suggest they get their act together and service the people who use the site or they won't have anyone.Desired Settlement: I want a phone call from a live person from OkCupid to explain to me what is going on and to delete my account permanently.

Review: Approximately 2 months ago my account at OKCupid, which I had for about 10 years, was deleted with no warning. My bio, photos, contacts, answers to questions, tests, etc. GONE with no way to recover them. No warning, no reason. Tried to sign in one day and account was deleted. They hide behind "site is having technical issues" when OKC deletes accounts. I had a friend sign in on her account to check mine. Said "user has deleted their account". Second time she tried, "this user does not exist."

I had hundreds, maybe thousands of hours invested. Repeated emails to their customer service were ignored.

About a week ago I gave up and opened a new account. It worked for 5 days then was AGAIN deleted by OKCupid staff. Again, no reason given. I read the TOS and did not violate ANY provisions. Again, emails to customer service were ignored. They have no phone number, no email address. The only way to contact them is via their website.

I appear to be blocked by IP address, user name and email. Using a proxy/VPN to sign in worked for a couple days, then it too was blocked.

Mine is not an isolated incident. It's plastered all over the web, 95% of the deletions coming AFTER [redacted] bought the company. Consensus seems to be that [redacted] (a pay dating site) is trying to force OKCupid users (which is a free site) to switch to Match. I think this practice is illegal, maybe falling under bait and switch, et al.Desired Settlement: Reinstatement of both my accounts, so I can delete/recover photos and contacts from the first account, then continue to use my 2nd one.

Explanation (by email is fine) as to why they were deleted. Further clarification as to why OKC is deleting thousands of accounts. What is their intention/reason?

Initiate a policy of informing or warning users their account is in danger of being deleted. A 3 strikes you are out policy would work. Include alleged violations of their TOS. Allow users to dispute the allegations before deletion.

Open a live chat with staff members and customer service phone number on the site so users can actually contact the staff.

An apology would be nice too!!!

Review: I reported another user on the site who was trying scam me for money (which was true). As a result, OkCupid deleted my account as if I were the one who did something wrong. And even worse is that the site makes it look as if they're having technical difficulties preventing you from logging on. When in fact, they make it so that you will always get that message anytime in the future. Users I know on the site have confirmed to me they cannot see my profile anymore and my page has been taken down.

Anytime in the past that I had an issue or problem with the website, I would contact the help/support team and they NEVER EVER respond back. They have deleted people's profiles in the past without giving any reason why nor do they let the user know they have deleted it. It is a very shady system. I already had to create a new account once before because I was not receiving messages that users were sending me. Once again, I tried letting the support team know but nobody EVER responded back.Desired Settlement: I want someone from the site to finally contact me and explain why the support team never responds back or even attempts to solve customers' problems, and an explanation of why they deleted my account. I want the company to make changes to their customer support and start helping users out instead of ignoring them. This is why they have an F rating on the Revdex.com's website.

Review: I was charged $32.33 to my account without any notification or renewal of subscription on my part. when I searched the website to contact a representative there was not number information in which could contact someone in real time. After locating the number on the Revdex.com, I was able to get into contact information with someone named [redacted] as part of the company [redacted]. [redacted] informed me that the company [redacted] acquired OK Cupid approximately eight months ago yet there is currently no representative or telephone customer service center in which a customer can contact. When I asked to speak a [redacted] or a [redacted] informed that there is not anyone that she could redirect me to, her response was rather evasive. [redacted] did mention a [redacted], a person to whom she eluded to not being management and essentially of no help to my concerns.

It is wholly unprofessional and peculiar for an organization to not have any way for their customer to speak to a representative in real time should they have (like myself) any concerns or complaints. I have no conclusion to come to except to believe that there is a degree of fraudulence that is being committed by this organization.Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like my account to be shut down and the charge that was made to my account to be refunded. I would also like an investigation into [redacted] ( the new owners of OK Cupid.com) to see if the organization can make strides in serving their customers. This can be set up so that future customers would not have to go through the rather time consuming and upsetting process of contacting representatives in real time regarding complaints and concerns. Eight months after acquisition is an outrageous amount of time to not have proper systems in place for customers to contact, while continuing to run that company. That is suspicious in itself.

Signed up with OkCupid a few weeks ago in hopes of meeting someone special. I hit it off with a few matches this past week but, to my surprise, I became unable to log in to my account. According to the error message, OkCupid is "having technical difficulties". I could not create a new account either.

A search online returned numerous explicit complaints from previous customers who experienced the same issue. The reason for the "technical difficulties"? OkCupid flagged the users and decided to close their accounts. No explanation given, no investigation on their part into whether that customer was truly a problem, no chance for the customer to state his or her case. Nothing.

As for me, I have no clue why my account was suddenly shuttered. My profile was clean, I had polished it to a pretty impressive state---both in terms of pictures and text content---and I was thoughtful in every message that I wrote. Not that I should have to worry about whether OkCupid likes me as a person or not. Dating websites should not be in the business of judging their customers and deciding who gets to meet a match and who doesn't.

I have no intention of using OkCupid again. Ever. But I want more. I want them sued. I, as a customer, have rights. I have the right to service like every one else. I have the right to know if my account has been closed! Geez, how is this a matter of debate?!? In what world is it acceptable to close someone's account and say not a word about it?

And, lastly, I have the right to know why my account was shuttered. I want to see OkCupid exposed for its overreaching and unethical tactics. None of this has a place in today's world.

Review: I tried to pay for a subscription to their service. They came back with a response that the transaction had been declined by my bank. I tried again. Again they said the same. So, I contacted my bank and my bank assured me that the charges had in fact been approved and processed.

I went back to their site and it was suggested that I use a different card, so I did. It again told me that my credit card had been declined. So, I checked with that institution, and was told the same as before. That the charge had been approved. But, they will not remove the charge and dispute it for a few more days. So, now I'm here. Just trying to get my money back or my subscription. I don't really care which one.Desired Settlement: I want either my money back or the product that I paid for. I don't really care which, but I want one of them

Review: OK cupid is filled with online dating scammer. I stupidly fell for a scam from an member of OK cupid's online dating community and lost a significant amount of money (19000.00). I've reported it to the FBI, DOJ, and the FTC. I reported the scammer to OK cupid as well. After being scam, I continued to get contacted on OK by other online scammers. I've reported approximately 7 to 8 additional people that I've identified as scammers. I was able to identify these scammer by doing reverse [redacted] image searches and finding pictures and information on the real people whose pictures were stolen by these scammers. I reported each and everyone to OK Cupid and ask that someone from OK cupid contact me to discuss. I have yet to hear from OK cupid. This is a serious issue and OK cupid is not doing enough to protect it's members from these scammers.Desired Settlement: I would like to speak with someone at OK cupid to express my concerns about this and discuss ways that they can make their online dating community safer. I would also like a refund for the amount that I paid to join the site since the majority of people who contacted me were fraudulent profiles.

The company Okcupid is an online dating site that is free with some added charges. I joined the first time free and then "upgraded", which is perfectly fine. Then a day later when trying to log in and was denied. The message that appeared is "Sorry, Staff Robot had a meltdown-check back later", and if you research this message many other customers have had this issue. Any they were banned without explanation. And with further research found out this message means that one has been banned. I then emailed the company for explanation! I did not violate any terms & conditions nor did I do anything inappropriate. I yet to have received a message from the company. So then I went ahead and created another account with a different email. With in nine hours I received the same message meaning that I was unable to access my account and was banned. Again I emailed the company and received no explantation.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to be held accountable for their unethical actions. Also an explanation of why they terminate so many users when they are not in violation. Also for them to allow me to have my account back and freely use my account.

Review: I joined ok cupid 3 days ago and yesterday I received an email saying my profile was approved. Last night I completed questions including some about religious preferences and this morning I couldn't login from either iPhone app or desktop browser. Obviously the technical problems claim isn't legitimate. What I believe is that one of the questions triggered the deactivation of my account Seems really weird to me. It's been down for two days, can't log in, can't register a new account either, so I doubt I'm blocked or anything, (haven't been on long enough to get into any trouble). I tried messaging the staff yesterday but no reply yet. They sound really unprofessional from what everyone seems to be saying. I tried logging in via my app on my iPhone using 3G instead of Wi-Fi encase my IP was being blocked and still the same thing, seems to be down, but my room mate was able to connect yesterday supposedly, so I don't know what's going on. It's frustrating.Desired Settlement: after the desired outcome it been two more days I left messages on top messages and still no one has got back to me

Review: I logged in to start an account and within a day, had issues connecting. When I check whether the site is down at [redacted] I find that it is NOT down, but just down for me. And I cannot get any response from them about why my account is down, or whether my information is secure.Desired Settlement: I simply want to hear from them what is wrong with my account, and if their site is actually up, despite their 'claims' of technical difficulty, why it is just down for ME. I then want to be able to log in and close down the account myself, as I do not trust that they are managing my information well.

I was already a free member, but this offer purportedly held out additional upgrades.... the email offered for a limited time only a ONE MONTH subscription upgrade for 15.95... which I did... giving my [redacted] card info. to pay for it... in doing so, I authorized a ONE TIME payment of 15.95...

....now I am finding that they are charging my [redacted] credit card EVERY MONTH! ...I called [redacted], they advised I contact the company ([redacted])which I did... but was met with only a perpetuation of the trap they set for unsuspecting consumers... they said that (contrary to what they offered, and contrary to what I agreed to) I "agreed" to the reoccurring charges when I took advantage of the ONE MONTH trial.... disgusting business at best! ..FRAUD, I think is a better and more accurate description!

...I plan on formally disputing the 2 unauthorized charges, and will never do business with this company again!

Review: I have been unable to access my account for over a week and have been informed that when another user views my profile it says I have disabled my own account, which is not true. A few days before this happened a user that I exchanged messages with informed me that he used to hack others' profiles so that is a possibility as to what happened (though if I use incorrect log in information, it tells me that my information in incorrect instead of the typical 'We're having technical difficulties message' I get otherwise). If my account was hacked without my knowledge, I do not appreciate OkCupid's lack of cooperation and their prevention of me from changing my password or information as this could compromise my accounts on other websites. Now that I've been dealing with this for over a week I have also seen that they delete profiles without warning and refuse to answer emails. I am starting to get the impression that this is what happened with my account, though I am unsure why my account would be deleted as I did not break any guidelines nor was I a spam account. I had no reasons to be flagged in the first place. After three contact attempts I have seen no replies or any attempts being made to resolve the issue. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.Desired Settlement: I want my account to be reinstated and a detailed message as to what happened.
