Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

I was nervous about buying tickets as an instant download at first but then it actually turned out to be super easy and quick!

My transaction went smooth, quick and I received my tickets in a timely manner. I would definitely use this site again.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
A dispute is filed through the payment institution as I did not use a card I have authority to authorize purchases on. That dispute will have to be taken up with the card holder.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Thank you for reaching out to us. At Online City Tickets, we value our customers and would like to take the time to address our customer’s concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely...

facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Directly on our website it states, “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by [redacted].”Once our customer selected the event they were interested in, Foo Fighters, they navigated to the ticket listing page. The top of this page clearly notifies customers, “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.” This message is also displayed on the top of every page throughout the checkout process. After customers select the ticket listing they desire, they are directed to the checkout page. Here, customers are provided with an order summary that displays the event details, ticket location, and price per ticket. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method. After a delivery method is selected, since methods vary in price, a new order total is calculated. A complete itemized breakdown of our customer’s order including the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price of $296.83 was displayed in bold text on the left-hand side of the page. This information was fully disclosed before our customers are asked to enter any payment information. Below this order summary, our customers are notified in the Ticket Information portion of our site that, “We are a resale marketplace. We are not a box office or venue. This site is not owned by any venue. Price: Ticket prices may exceed face value.” Customers are then presented with our terms and conditions, including a bold message which clarifies, “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Our customer was required to select a check box signifying their agreement to these terms. Customers are then prompted to select the "Review Order" button below these terms. Once selected, customers are taken to a review page which displayed their payment information, order summary and provided an additional itemized cost breakdown of their order. Our customer then proceeded to select "Confirm & Place Order" at which time their order was processed.Online City Tickets is not affiliated with any artist or venue and does not own inventory; instead, we act as an intermediary between customers and sellers. All prices listed on our site are done so by the individual seller, not Online City Tickets, based on their personal assessments regarding a range of factors including customer demand. Since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. Our checkout process allows each customer several opportunities to view all details of an order, including the Estimated Ship Date, prior to purchase. In our customer’s case, the Estimated Ship Date of 12/1/2017 was stated. Online City Tickets does not own or generate any tickets, and therefore does not set or control delivery dates. Rather, the Estimated Ship Date is set by the individual seller of the tickets and is dependent upon the primary issuer of the tickets, with which Online City Tickets has no affiliation. This information was clearly presented to our customer before they submitted their order, and was additionally discussed with the customer via our Live Chat application. Though the Estimated Ship Date of 12/1/2017 was relayed to our customer, their tickets were sent via [redacted] on 6/27/2017. On 7/5/2017, the receiver of the package refused delivery and the package was returned to sender.Prior to receiving this claim we thoroughly discussed this matter with our customer to address all of their concerns. We maintain that all order details were sufficiently displayed prior to placing their order; as such, we consider this matter closed. If our customer has any additional concerns regarding their order, we encourage them to reach out to our customer service department so that they may be addressed.Regards,Online City Tickets

Thank you for your response. As we previously clarified, Online City Tickets thoroughly discloses that the listed prices may be above face value; a common occurrence on the secondary marketplace. Hundreds of sellers process thousands of orders each day and are not always cognizant of the price tickets are currently selling for on the primary market. Furthermore, the price listed on our site is not based of the face value of the tickets; rather, the price is selected by the seller based on their assessments of a range of market factors. As we have fully addressed Mr. [redacted] concerns we consider this matter closed.Regards,Online City Tickets

The service charges almost cost 40% of the ticket price. It prevented some family members from buying a ticket.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! These folks are scammers. I bought 4 tickets to Jersey Boys, assuming it was $313 total, nope that was per ticket. Total was $1750 , with a $400 fee. No mention of this and they trick you so you don't see the total price nor the fees. I called and no returns at all.. I thought I was on [redacted] site and somehow got redirected.
BEWARE !.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. After reviewing this claim, it appears with the information provided Mr. [redacted] has not placed his order with Online City Tickets. We ask him to review all correspondence as well as his financial account. At this time we consider this matter closed...

and encourage Mr. [redacted] to contact the entity with which his order was placed.Regards,Online City Tickets

My tickets worked. And we saw the show.
With today's online theives I wanted to call and speak to someone only to illievieate some concern. I was met by a guy who was bored and not interested.
Giving me legally guarded questions just to hang upon me in the end.

However, it should be noted that since our website is completely user-driven, all order details are either selected or input directly by our customers. Once our customer selected the event they were interested in, [redacted] with [redacted], they navigated to the ticket listing page. Our customer was then displayed a dropdown box for them to select the amount of tickets they wish to procure. After our customer selected a quantity of six (6) tickets, they continued to the checkout page. Here, customers are provided with an order summary that reiterated the ticket quantity of six (6), the event details, ticket location, and price per ticket. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method. After a delivery method is selected, since methods vary in price, a new order total is calculated. sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; border: 0px;">Thank you for reaching out to us regarding Mr. [redacted] concerns.  Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. As Mr. [redacted] stated, we have previously addressed a prior complaint regarding his order.

Mr. [redacted] has claimed that our customer service manager suggested he resell the remaining tickets at the door of the venue; this should be noted as inaccurate. We investigated this claim previously and as we have stated, the customer service agent suggested reaching out to family or friends who may also be interested in attending the event with him and suggested listing the tickets on another resale marketplace. Online City Tickets maintains that our agent never suggested Mr. [redacted] resale outside of the venue.

All tickets listed on our site are owned and priced by individual sellers, not Online City Tickets, based on those sellers' evaluations of changing factors such as customer demand. This means that the largest portion of any order placed in our marketplace goes directly to the seller; the service fee represents the charges that Online City Tickets uses to maintain the operating costs including our website, ensuring that customers receive their ticket in time for events, and maintaining a customer service department to assist customers.

Mr. [redacted] received the valid and authentic ticket he selected at checkout and the event has since passed. Although Mr. [redacted] continues to press forward with this matter, we have fully addressed his concerns in two previous responses and have attempted to resolve this matter to the best of our ability though our offer was declined by Mr. [redacted]. As such, we consider this matter closed.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this issue. Online City Tickets has been in contact with Ms....

[redacted] to reiterate that she received valid ticket and had no issue attending the event. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyer’s and ticket sellers. This fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.” As such, we consider this matter resolved, and hope that Ms. [redacted] will consider Online City Tickets for their future event ticket needs. If Ms. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns regarding this or any other order, we welcome them to contact a member of our customer service team.

Very easy to order tickets!

[redacted] is stating that his order total for two tickets was $650 when in fact that was the price per ticket. When [redacted] selected their tickets, they were taken to our checkout page. From there, they were directed to review the itemized order breakdown, which clearly...

displayed the price per ticket (5 tickets at $687.00 each), all fees ($1045.45), and the total price ($4480.45) in bolded text. Then, [redacted] was directed to review our terms and conditions—visible in a text box below this order total—and presented with the bolded message “All sales are final.” At this point, [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions. I have reviewed the Order Summary above," and a check box that he needed to click to continue with checkout. Below this check-box, another message was displayed that read: “By clicking ‘Place Order’, your credit card will be charged ($4480.45), which includes ticket, service, and delivery fees.” This notice was followed by a button labeled “Place Order.” By checking this box, [redacted] signified his acknowledgement of the total price, our sales terms and completed his order. As a secondary marketplace, Online City Tickets is not directly affiliated with any artist or venue and does not generate tickets as a primary box office; rather, we act as an intermediary between fans and ticket holders. Since customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must enforce an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. We have been in constant contact with [redacted] regarding this issue, but have been unable to reach an amicable resolution. While our management team is available to handle any additional concerns that [redacted] may have, we consider this matter closed.

Excellent seats and great prize

Quick and easy. Everything was smooth.

Everything went well.

Be very careful what you click on. I was searching for "Hershey Theater", on Google, and this company must have paid a fee to be first in the results, and I stupidly clicked on it, went only to their website, and purchased 2 tickets, before I realized I spent $199 instead of $115 for the same exact event, same row seats, which were still available from Ticketmaster - which is the ONLY authorized seller of tickets for Hershey Theater. Not to mention, OnlineCityTickets website looks earily familiar to Ticketmaster - I wonder why. Before you ever buy at this site, make sure you cannot get them MUCH cheaper elsewhere.
