Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the concerns of our valued customer, Mr. [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to address his concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate...

transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers.Mr. [redacted] has indicated that he believed he was purchasing directly from the official venue. However, directly on the homepage Mr. [redacted] visited we state, “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by [redacted] Event Center.” When Mr. [redacted] selected the event he was interested in, [redacted] on 3/8/2017, he navigated to the ticket listing page. The top of every ticket listing page clearly notifies customers that, “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.” This fact is also reiterated on the checkout page.In regards to the delivery of Mr. [redacted]’s tickets, we would like to provide clarification. When Mr. [redacted] selected the ticket listing he was interested in, it clearly noted “Email delivery by: 3/7/2017.” Due to the nature of our business as a secondary marketplace, Online City Tickets does not own or generate any tickets and therefore does not set or control delivery date. Rather, the estimated In-Hand Date is set by the individual seller of the tickets and is often dependent upon the primary issuer of the tickets, with which Online City Tickets has no affiliation. This information was clearly presented to Mr. [redacted] on the ticket listing and highlighted in red text on the checkout page before he submitted his order.  Additionally, these details were clarified in an email Mr. [redacted] received minutes after placing his order.Though Mr. [redacted] has indicated that he has attempted to contact us, the only communication we have received from him is an email on 3/2/2017. Nevertheless, we have routed Mr. [redacted]’s order to be directed to a customer care manager should he have any additional concerns. At this time, Mr. [redacted] can anticipate the delivery of his tickets on or before 3/7/2017 to the Hotmail email address he entered at the time of purchase. If Mr. [redacted] wishes to discuss his order further, we encourage him to contact us.Regards,Online City Tickets

I find it outrageous that a 123. ticket has a 37. service fee – almost 30% of the ticket price. I bought 6 tickets for my family totaling $738 which is quite a large sum. However, that comes with a $220. fee! I would prefer a higher ticket price and a lower fee. It's shocking when you go to buy what you think are 123. tickets, only then to discover the price is actually $160. per ticket.

Very easy to use and received them quickly!!!!

The transaction went through easily. I have printed my tickets. I will see how this works on December 27th when we arrive at the [redacted] Concert Hall. I have no reason to think things will go bad - but I will let you know.

Quick and timely service. Thank you!

the surcharge is horrendous, unjustifiable ...

Thank you for reaching out to us. Online City Tickets has been in contact with Ms. [redacted] via email, and we believe we have reached an amicable resolution. Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: we were on the [redacted] Center site and was redirected to Online City Tickets.  Online City Tickets is wrong.  This business should be reprimanded for their business practices in misleading the public.  We purchased tickets for a certain amount of money at face value of $50.00 and that is what we should have received.  Online City Tickets made a profit of $114.00 on 3 tickets at face value of $29.95.  There should be a law against what they can charge.  We will be pursuing this action with our financial institution and bringing this to the Government's attention in Washington, DC's attention.  We are not asking for a full refund we are requesting the $20.00 per ticket equaling $60.00.  We received tickets for 3 seats at $29.95 each, not tickets for 3 seats at $50.00 each.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers.Once our customer selected the event they were interested in, The Eagles , they navigated to the ticket listing page. On this ticket listing page, our customer selected the listing they were interested in which stated, "[redacted]. Zone [redacted]ing." After our customer selected the ticket listing they desired, they were directed to the checkout page. Here, customers are provided with an order summary that displays the event details, ticket location, and price per ticket. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method, [redacted]. After the delivery method was selected, a complete itemized order breakdown was calculated. The breakdown of our customer’s order included the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price of $2,048.52 displayed in bold text on the left-hand side of the page. This information was fully disclosed before our customer was asked to enter any payment information. Customers are then presented with our terms and conditions, including a bold message which clarifies, “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Our customer was required to select a check box signifying their agreement to these terms and the statement, “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above. I understand that I am not purchasing directly from the venue box office and that tickets may be above face value.” For every order placed on our site the customer’s order total is reiterated below this in large, bold text. Customers are then prompted to select the "Review Order" button below these terms. Once selected, customers are taken to a review page which displayed their payment information, order summary and provided an additional itemized cost breakdown of their order. Our customer then proceeded to select "Confirm & Place Order", at which time their order was processed. No order can be placed on our site without a customer having proceeded through these steps.Due to the nature of our business on the secondary marketplace, Online City Tickets is not affiliated with any artist or venue and does not own inventory; instead, we act as an intermediary between customers and sellers. Using [redacted], customers are able to register their Credit Card to their [redacted] account and therefore will be granted access into their event by presenting this form of digital ID. The majority of the inventory for this event is classified as [redacted]; this is dependent upon the official venue and the primary market. As we have no affiliation with them, such matters are outside of our purview. Additionally, since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry.  In addition to this current claim, our customer has filed a dispute with their credit card company regarding this order. We are unable to provide a resolution to this matter while this dispute remains open due to the nature of the dispute process. We encourage our customer to contact the institution with which the dispute was filed in relation to any questions they may have regarding its process or outcome. As it currently stands, we consider this matter closed.Regards,Online City Tickets

I ordered tickets for [redacted] - the lead singer bailed on the last 8 shows including mine. It said on the radio that tickets would be refunded if desired. This website said they are not affiliated with the venue or the artist and would not be refunding and to have a nice day. Glorified ticket scalpers that buy lots of tickets online and resell them for profit and do not care what the customers think.

Thank you for getting back to us regarding this issue. We made multiple attempts to reach out to Ms. [redacted], prior to cancelling her order, regarding the pricing error on her orders but we were unable to reach her. As we have stated in our sales terms and conditions, which she agreed to prior to completing her purchase, pricing errors do occur on rare occasions and as a result we have provided Ms. [redacted] with a refund of both orders. As it currently stands, these orders have been cancelled and we have exhausted all possible resolutions. If Ms. [redacted]  wishes to discuss this with our management team she may reach out to us at any time.

generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Mr. [redacted] stated that Online City Tickets displayed two seats in the center of the stage; this should be noted as inaccurate. The interactive map Mr. [redacted] mentioned simply displayed all the available tickets in Section: Parquet, not Section: Center Parquet as Mr. [redacted] has suggested. Mr. [redacted] selected his tickets for the Pennsylvania Ballet – The Nutcracker Section: Parquet Row: BB, these tickets never indicated they would be located in the center. He then navigated to our checkout page; he was directed to review his itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed the location of his tickets, all fees, the price per ticket, and his total price in bold text. Mr. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box—and presented with the message in bold “All sales are final.” At this point, Mr. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process and displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Mr. [redacted] mentioned our 100% Buyer Guarantee; to this we would like to provide clarification. Each order is fully protected by this guarantee which ensures customer’s tickets will arrive in time for their event and be valid for entry. This fact is clearly stated throughout the checkout process. Since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. As Mr. [redacted] placed his order on 11/25/2016 for Section Parquet Row: BB and received these exact tickets immediately after via email, we consider this matter closed. Online City Tickets has adequately addressed Mr. [redacted] concerns though if he has any additional inquiries, we encourage him to contact our customer service. Regards, Online City Tickets

Bought 2 Floor tickets for a Maroon 5 concert. The tickets cost $126.00 at face value, but I spent nearly $700.00 on them from this website. The service charge for them was over $150.00. We really wanted to see this show, so I bought them anyways, despite the outrageous cost. The doors opened at 6:30pm and that is when we arrived. We watched the opening acts and at about 7:45pm (minutes away from Maroon 5 starting their set), another couple came up with the EXACT SAME tickets. Literally identical. Venue staff wanted us to go to the box office to sort it out, but Maroon 5 was about to begin, so they moved my husband and I to some random section with 2 open seats. I contacted Online City Tickets and they just told me 'sorry, it's a venue problem, not ours.' However, I spent almost $700.00 on scammed tickets and did not get what I paid for - to sit on the floor. VERY UNHAPPY with the way they treat their customers - RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I would never recommend them to anyone. STAY AWAY!!!!!

This website advertised itself as the box office for my tickets. After I received the tickets, I was informed that this is a site that resells tickets. I feel like I was ripped off by the website.

Got the tickets. Great seats!

Here, customers are provided with an order summary that displays the event details, ticket location, and price per ticket. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method. After a delivery method was selected, since methods vary in price, a new order total was calculated. A complete itemized breakdown of our customer’s order including the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price of $498.18 was displayed in bold text on the left-hand side of the page. This information was fully disclosed before our customers are asked to enter any payment information. Below this order summary, our customers are notified in the Ticket Information portion of our site that, “We are a resale marketplace. We are not a box office or venue. Online City Tickets promptly displays the information that we are a resale marketplace and prices of tickets listed may exceed face value.Due to the nature of our business on the secondary marketplace, Online City Tickets is not affiliated with any artist or venue and does not own inventory; instead, we act as an intermediary between customers and sellers. All prices listed on our site are done so by the individual seller, not Online City Tickets, based on their personal assessments regarding a range of factors including customer demand. ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Directly on our website it states, “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue or box office.” When Ms[redacted] selected tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers event on 2/10/17 she navigated to our checkout page. From there she was directed to review her itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees, the price per ticket, and the total price of $2,125.75 in bold text prior to entering any payment information. Ms[redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box—and presented with the message in bold “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms[redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process and displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” With regard to Ms. [redacted] statement that her tickets differed in price from the primary-market, or "face," value, it should be noted that this is a common occurrence in our industry. Online City Tickets operates on the secondary market, meaning that all tickets available for purchase on our site are owned by individual ticket sellers, rather than by our company. The prices are set at the discretion of the individual ticket sellers—not by Online City Tickets—based on their assessments of various market factors such as customer demand. This information is presented at the top of every ticket listing page on our website, as well as during checkout. Ms. [redacted] valid tickets were delivered on 10/5/16 before her event taking place on 2/10/17. Prior to receiving this complaint we were in contact with Ms[redacted] and offered a resolution that would be amicable to both parties. However, Ms[redacted] declined this offer. As such, we consider this matter closed and encourage Ms[redacted] to contact our customer service department with any additional concerns. Regards, Online City Tickets

So Far So Good

NEVER USE THIS SITE. GO TO [redacted] EVERY TIME!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THIS SITE. THEY WAY OVER CHARGE FOR THE TICKETS AND CHARGE A CRAZY $50 FEE PER TICKET. THEIR SITE IN MY HUMBLE OPINION IS A SCAM THEY PORTRAYED THEMSELVES AS IF THEY WERE THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL. SO I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING THE TICKETS AT FACE VALUE AND PAYING THE $50 FEE AND THEY WERE SELLING FAST SO I BOUGHT
HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL. AND THE PRICE THEY PUT PER TICKET WAS $177 WHEN IN FACT AT [redacted] TICKETS IN THATS SAME SECTION ARE ONLY $80. SO I PAID $100 MORE FOR THE TICKET AND $50 FOR THE SERVICE CHARGE SO I PAID $225 FOR A $80 TICKET.

Thank you for reaching out to us and bringing this matter to our attention. We take the customer experience seriously here at Online City Tickets and would like to take the time to address Ms. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means...

we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. This fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.”When Ms. [redacted] selected tickets and was taken to our checkout page, they were directed to review their itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees, the price per ticket, and the total price in bolded text. Ms. [redacted] was then directed to review our terms and conditions—visible in a text box below this order total—and presented with the bolded message “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. After checking the box and clicking “Review Order” they are taken to the checkout page which features an even more in-depth order summary that displays the number and prices of their tickets, delivery and service fees, and the total charge.Online City Tickets backs customer purchases by our 100% Money Back guarantee that ensures that the tickets they purchase will be authentic and valid for entry, as well as a timely delivery of their tickets in time for the event. Typically customers do receive tickets within a few day of the purchase. However this is not always the case, as some sellers have not physically received them at that time. When a seller does not yet have the tickets in their possession they are required to provide an expected day they will receive them, an “in hand date”, and are required to disclose this to the customer at check out. In regards to Ms. [redacted] order, the tickets she selected had an in hand date of 05/03/16. Tickets are 100% transferable, and our Money Back Guarantee ensures there won't be any issues gaining entry into the event with tickets purchased from us or your money back. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process—from a notice on every ticket page to a sales terms statement displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Additionally, all sellers on our site are notified as soon as an order for their tickets is placed, which means we are unable to cancel orders or offer refunds. We have been in contact with Ms. [redacted] regarding this issue, but have been unable to reach an amicable resolution. While our management team is available to handle any additional concerns that Ms. [redacted] may have, we consider this matter closed.Regards,OnlineCityTickets
