I was very happy with my experience. [redacted] was very helpful during this frustrating time. I would recommend Optima Tax Relief to any one having tax problems.

to address their concerns while working towards a mutual resolve   RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has been in contact with the client regarding their concerns prior to receiving the complaint. During the initial conversation the client presented the same claim that he would have not moved forward if he didn’t receive a significant reduction. Although Optima Tax is very successful in reducing a tax payer’s liability we do not insinuate, promise or guarantee that any type of reduction would be achieved. We make it very clear to our clients the fact that ultimately the IRS makes the decision to reduce balances and although we will ensure we strive to achieve the best possible outcome for the client, there is no promise or guarantee of a specific outcome.   Furthermore, after thorough review of the client's file and all surrounding facts, there is no evidence that such promises or guarantees were ever made to the client.  We did advise the client to provide us with any documentation that would show in fact such promises were made; however, we have yet to receive any such correspondence from the client.   During the initial conversations prior to and leading up to the client's enrollment with Optima Tax the client was thoroughly informed of the services that Optima Tax will provide. The Client Services Addendum the Client was provided clearly outlines the services Optima Tax would perform. Those services include but not limited to, IRS Representation, IRS Compliance and establish an Installment Agreement. The client had been presented this information before services commenced. After receiving the agreement which clearly and conspicuously contained language explaining that no specific outcome was promised or guaranteed, including a reduction, the client signed the agreement and moved forward with Optima Tax.   As such, it is our position that Optima Tax performed the services as outlined in the agreement. Optima Tax represented the client on behalf of the IRS and ultimately set him up on an affordable Installment Agreement. We also prepared certain documentation in an effort to reduce the client’s liability. The client has yet to contact Optima Tax to confirm if the IRS accepted our proposal. We will continue our efforts with the client in hopes of coming to an amicable resolution.

Optima Tax’s management has made multiple attempts to reach the
client both by phone and by email without a response. As the client stated, she
contacted Optima Tax regarding her outstanding tax liability. Her assigned Tax
Associate educated the client as to our process and why we must conduct a
thorough investigation into her case and the client ultimately agreed to move
forward.
 
During
our recorded compliance calls, which every client goes through, the client is
asked a serious of questions covering all disclosures and all details of the
program they are enrolling into. During the call, we inform the client that
some of the information we obtain from the tax authority during our
investigation of the client’s tax situation may be information the client
already knows of. After all disclosures are made and the client clearly
expresses they fully understand the terms of their program enrollment we then continue
moving forward. In this particular instance, the client agreed to move forward
after full disclosures were made and they had a clear understanding of their
program details.  Subsequently, Optima
Tax conducted and completed their investigation services. The information we
obtained from the IRS is used to formulate our strategy to help resolve the
client’s outstanding liability.
 
The
information we gathered and relayed to the client came directly from the IRS. This
also includes the possibility of the year she mentioned in the complaint having
a different balance than she originally anticipated. After going over the
details of our summary and proposed services to help resolve her liability the
client explained to us that she felt she had to do some research on the year
she thought had a lower balance. At that point the client ceased all communication
with Optima Tax. Her assigned agent followed up with her on multiple occasions,
but the client stopped responding. Until her balance reaches zero, the IRS will
continue to add on penalties and interest.

It is
deeply regrettable that there was a misunderstanding about the scope of our
services. As we stated in our previous response however, our records - both
voice recorded calls as well as a Resolution Addendum (contract) - clearly
state that the client had hired Optima for IRS representation only. Furthermore,
when the client voiced her concerns in June of 2014, we had repeatedly
explained the scope of our services, however, out of courtesy, we had informed the
client that we will only provide limited guidance on her state tax issues. An
email was also sent confirming what was discussed during that conversation.
 
After
relaying this information to the client, she believes that there may have been
a misunderstanding on her part regarding the actions Optima would take on her
behalf. In light of such mutual understanding, we are asking the client to sign
the necessary paperwork, and send in the required documents to submit for a resolution.
In an effort to ensure clear understanding of the terms just explained, we are
waiting for the client to execute an agreement with us as well.  Once we receive all the documents, including
the agreement with Optima, we will package and mail the documents to the state
on her behalf. Once the documents are mailed out, any and all service that has
been provided on client’s behalf will effectively end. The client has confirmed
she is satisfied with this proposal and considers the matter closed.

Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the
client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. Upon the client’s enrollment
into our Resolution Phase, the first order of business that Optima Tax
conducted was to bring the client into full filing compliance with both the
State Franchise Tax Board and the IRS. Neither the Franchise Tax Board nor the
IRS will engage in resolution discussions 
until the tax payer is in full filing compliance. Therefore, preparation
and submission of the client’s Tax Returns was imperative to our ability to
successfully represent the client’s interest.
 
Once the
client made his initial down payment towards our resolution fees, Optima Tax immediately
began to work his case. Our Tax Preparation Team immediately obtained from the client
the necessary tax documents and then successfully prepared his returns for three
tax years. After the client reviewed and signed the returns they were
immediately sent to both the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board. Now that we have
placed the client in filing compliance, once we receive confirmation that the
returns have been processed, we can works towards resolving both balances as a
whole.
 
After further
informing the client on this process, he appreciated the information and
clarity but continued to express concern with the lack of communication. After thoroughly
reviewing the file notes we believe that there may have been a misunderstanding
regarding the enforcement document the client is referring to. Anytime a client
receives any intent notice, our staff immediately responds in an effort to
negotiate a stay of enforcement. We are ecstatic that the client’s current
representative was able to negotiate a stay of enforcement. However, it is truly
disappointing that there was a misunderstanding regarding the document because
we would have been able to successfully negotiate a stay of enforcement on the
client’s behalf.
 
Although
we have the utmost confidence that we can complete our contractual obligations,
the client has decided to go in a different direction. In an effort to resolve
this matter mutually, we provided the client with some options to help resolve
this unfortunate matter and we are currently waiting on his response. We
believe that the options will help us part ways amicably.

discuss his claims, as stated in the complaint. It is truly unfortunate that
the client was not initially satisfied with the result of our investigation. For
clarification, Optima Tax’s services are divided into a two phase approach,
Investigation and Resolution. During our Investigation phase, Optima gathers
extensive information on the case, which is then presented to the client with
our proposed Resolution services.
Each
client that Optima Tax represents
will receive our agreement and go through a detailed, recorded, Verification
Call to assure that the client fully understands the services he has purchased.
Based off our conversation with the client, there was a misunderstanding as to
the services Optima Tax would
provide during the Investigation Phase. Although we do file tax returns on
behalf of our clients, we only offer those services during the Resolution
Phase. Misunderstanding aside, we are pleased to say that we provided the
client with various options that have been accepted and satisfy the client’s
concerns.

Just over 1 year ago the IRS advised me that if I couldn't start making a $350.00 monthly payment to pay the back taxes I owed, they would insist I pay the entire amount I owed at once which was over $26,000.00! Having gone through a divorce just a few years prior, my financial situation was very grim and I felt the most stress about my future I had ever felt in my entire life! I had absolutely no resources left to come up with the money the IRS insisted I pay.
That's when I notified Optima Tax Relief. With one simple phone call, the tax associate I spoke to was able to take on my case and even allowed me to retain Optima Tax Relief by making installments since I didn't have the money to pay in full for their services to help resolve my tax burden. Once Optima Tax Relief took on my case, I was fully protected and was able to sleep soundly every night while their tax professionals worked to resolve my huge tax problem.
Now just over 1 year later, Optima Tax Relief has me set up on a monthly payment plan with the IRS of only $100.00 per month. Compared to the $350.00 per month the IRS wanted, this is now something that I can manage. Not only that, because of Optima Tax Relief's resolution, I am protected from any liens or wage garnishments. As long as I make my small monthly payment on time I am fully protected!
I cannot say enough about the help I received from Optima Tax Relief in helping to resolve the huge tax burden I had! Now I am able to comfortably manage my finances without worrying about having to file bankruptcy or falling deeper into debt! Now I can sleep peacefully every night and you just cannot put a price tag on that!

Having a serious problem with the IRS, is not something to be ignored. To hide from the reality that an issue with far reaching and potentially devastating impact on your personal and family future, can and will adversely affect your ability to conduct a 'normal' life.
Optima Tax Relief was instrumental in addressing the necessary actions to facilitate a favorable outcome to the tax issues facing me. The process was defined and all my questions answered in a timely manner. The only issue was the IRS's lack of urgency. Optima Tax Relief responded to any and all inquires from the IRS in a day, but then had to wait for the Bureaucratic Leviathan to react. Optima Tax Relief requested information from me and acted on it to build and support a case defending my current financial position. Though this process was methodical and meticulous, I understood the importance of the need to be patient. Optima tax Relief represented everything that they stated initially to me with confidence, credibility and competence. I would not hesitate to recommend them as a company that follows through and understands the needs that individuals are seeking to resolve their tax issues. Though my issue has been resolved, would I use them again if needed?..... This is a no-brainer.... YES.

Optima Tax Relief helped me resolve a serious tax issue, caused by having to cash out my retirement funding due to having a terminal illness. [redacted], my assigned Relationship Manager, was very proactive with communications and setting proper expectations.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Reason I rejected and here is a scan from what I got from the IRS. Optima never did any tax preps but yet on my behalf agreed to a pay off of 14k which after my taxes are done will pay less than what Optima wanted. This is what bothers me. I contacted my new Tax attorney and what they did by ordering this payoff is hurt me. Aug the IRS expects a check from me for 14k will never happen I couldn't even pay a quarter. All I wanted was my taxes done and once done the IRS would be off my back. All I want is a refund from Optima.  Since contacting Revdex.com person named [redacted] was working with me from Optima have called him several times and no returns. Called to tell me a resolution was reached and gave me his number and for past 2 days has not returned my calls and this is calling him several times a day and only able to leave messages with answering service, So I figured resolution was not in my favor. As I said they hurt me more than helped and I should be refunded. They failed to stop the garnishment. And by lying to the IRS does not help me saying I agree to pay 14k. I read what they said and not much is true.
Optima contacted the IRS for a pay off without doing my taxes. They agreed I would pay 14k by Aug 19. Did all this before doing any tax returns. I do not even owe that much and they would of known this if they started my tax returns. They also did this without contacting me with amount agreed with. 
They have not contacted me with a resolution was contacted by a [redacted] from Optima but has since refused my calls. Have tried for 2 days straight several times a day only to be able to leave a message with operator who each time said message will be given and will be called back. 
I contacted Optima on May 212016 and spoke to [redacted].  We discussed my wife and myself tax issue’s with him concerning taxes not processed from  2011- 2015. Our main concern in this issue was being garnished 15% of both my wife’s and myself’s  gross pay. Mr. [redacted] insured myself that he would put a immediate stop to the garnishments with a immediate payment of $995.00 which was paid on Monday June 6, 2016. On June 17, 2016  both paychecks  were garnished. I tried to contact [redacted] as soon as I got off work the same day (June 17th)and he was not available. A message was left concerning the garnishments ($411). [redacted] did not contact till June 20th in the evening. At this point he requested all documents that were Pertaining to the garnishment issue and also informed me that the cost of the tax work he was providing jumped from the initial quote of $995. to $$4580.00. I asked him several times what did I get for the $995? and did not get a response. After discussing the fee with my wife we decided we needed to go a different route.  On Tuesday May 21st I released  Optima  from going forward price was to high . On Wednesday May 22nd I got a response from [redacted] which was unprofessional . Told him I contacted [redacted] which by the way is the company that recommended me to Optima.
But contacted [redacted] Tax Relief on the 22nd discussed my issue and at the time was recommended to another Tax company that does not have the overhead as Optima. Three different emails [redacted] took upon himself to be very unprofessional about cheaper Tax companies which I took insult to. But did say in no way was he saying [redacted] was bad.
(wonder why?) At this time I feel we should get a full refund. Optima has on their front page if unhappy will get a full refund 15 working calendar days. I understand I contacted Optima on May 31st but would not think it would start until payment was made which was June 6th 2016.
To me what was promised was not kept which was stopping the garnishments. When [redacted] contacted me on the 20th he seemed upset when I told him I sent in the documents to the Optima upload page said I should of sent to him which by the way I did same night I came home.

Optima Tax Relief provided me with great service. They were able to get my tax liability down to almost nothing and in a short period of time. multiple attempts to contact the client in order to discuss his claims as outlined
in the complaint. Unfortunately the client has yet to respond to any of our
attempts and we have not been able to come to a mutually satisfactory
resolution. Prior to the client making his complaint with the Revdex.com, we had
mutually agreed to a resolution that addressed the client’s dissatisfaction. Thereafter,
the client stopped responding to our attempts to finalize this resolution which
ultimately led to the client’s complaint with the Revdex.com. The client claims that
he was never given any supporting documents related to our Investigation. In
contrast, Optima Tax Relief provides all clients with a complete summary of our
findings upon completion of our Investigation. After reviewing our records, it
is clear that the client was provided with a thorough breakdown of our findings.
In
contrast to the client’s belief, Optima Tax is capable of preparing payroll tax
returns for our clients. However, upon completion of our investigation the
client inquired into whether we could provide bookkeeping for him. At this
point, Optima Tax Relief thoroughly explained to the client that we do not
perform bookkeeping services. Moreover, our contract clearly specifies the
services that we were to perform for the client. Unfortunately, we believe that
the client may have misunderstood this information when it was conveyed to him.
As
the client mentions in his complaint, Optima Tax has a limited money back
guarantee which is clearly stated in our contract. However, the client was
beyond this guarantee. As a commitment to our philosophy that “clients come
first,” we offered the client a rebate even though we performed all of our
contractual obligations. Unfortunately the client refused our offer and has not
responded to our attempts to come to an amicable resolution.

Optima Tax’s management has made numerous attempts to contact the client to address...

his concerns as outlined in the complaint. Prior to receiving the complaint, one of Optima Tax’s Quality Assurance representatives made multiple attempts to address the client’s frustrations but the client proved to be unresponsive to Optima Tax’s efforts. After we received the complaint, we continued our endeavor to discuss the client’s frustrations to no avail. When the client did respond, the responses were vague and further allegations were made claiming that our Quality Assurance team never made any attempt to reach him. After a thorough review, our records show otherwise.
 
As the client indicated in his complaint, prior to contacting Optima Tax Relief, the IRS had already begun collection activity against the client. Shortly after enrolling into our Resolution Phase, the IRS took legal action to obtain the remainder of the client’s outstanding balance. The client claims that his assigned Case Manager failed to submit documents in a timely manner. However, it was the client who had failed to provide us with substantiation regarding a certain business transaction that the IRS was made aware of from their conversations with the client. Without substantiation and with the client unwilling to provide Optima Tax with the supporting documents, the IRS’ legal action could not have been prevented.
 
Although the client did provide an income and expense worksheet as well as bank statements, it was not the supporting documents the Revenue Officer was requesting. The Revenue Officer wanted substantiation regarding a business transaction but the client refused to provide us with a thorough explanation as to what occurred during this specific business transaction. After repeated attempts to obtain this information, the client became verbally abusive and demanded we cancel his file. At no point did we argue with the client or use profanity when communicating with the client. Furthermore, after thoroughly interviewing the team that was assigned to the client, it was determined that they did not call the client from their personal cellphone. It’s extremely unfortunate that the client is going through immense hardships but, we feel that his allegations are unwarranted. Furthermore, since the client is unwilling to discuss the nature of his complaint we have no choice but to close the case on our end.
