owed $19,000 paid $100.00 in an offer of compensation am very happy now

SUMMARY -
Optima...

Tax's management has made multiple attempts to contact  the client to discuss his concerns as
outlined in the complaint, but he has been unresponsive.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has attempted to make contact with the
client to discuss his concerns as outlined in the complaint. Unfortunately, the
client has not responded to any of our attempts to discuss his frustrations and
come to an amicable resolution. We will continue our efforts until contact is
made.

As we
review the client’s claim, his primary complaint has to do with the Installment
Agreement our Tax Pro established while negotiating with the IRS. When the
client contacted Optima Tax in November 2014 he was thoroughly educated on our
two Phase approach. Phase one being the Investigation Phase and phase two being
our Resolution Phase. During our Investigation, we discovered that the client
did not have a current resolution in place and the IRS has initiated active
collections against him. Collection activity can consist of wage garnishments,
bank levies and property liens.

After conclusion
of our investigation, Optima informed the client of our findings and the
services Optima Tax could offer to assist the client with his tax liability. As
a result the client signed up for our Resolution Phase. Our Resolution services
included Collection Representation, IRS Compliance and preparing all necessary
paperwork to submit for an Installment Agreement. The assigned team of Tax Pros
successfully negotiated an installment agreement which got the client out of
collections and will protect his assets from being liquidated. It’s unfortunate
that the client doesn’t see the value in the services we provided on his behalf.
However, we will be sure to inform the client of these benefits once communication
is established. More importantly, we are confident that we will be able to come
to a mutual agreement.

At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that
"clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that
philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn
them around when possible. Optima Tax
will continue their efforts in making contact with the client until there is a
mutually satisfying agreement. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have yet to discuss the issue in depth with them, I did speak to a representative and explain to him that while I am traveling on business I would not be able to dedicate the proper amount of time required due to the nature of this issue. Their representative was trying to get me to sign an agreement for a large sum of money even after I explained that I would not be able to make the large payment, his response was " Just sign it and send it back, when the due date comes, tell them you cant make the payment and we will try to change the due date" is this for real? Stressing the need to resolve a matter with the IRS in a timely manner is a good thing, but using the scare tactics and pressure to get me to sign an agreement that I told him I could probably not comply with is a very shady business practice and they should be held accountable, I can only imagine how many people out there wind up in similar situations.

So happy I called Optima Tax Relief. I had an accountant that did some questionable things with my taxes several years ago and the IRS audited me and I ended up owing over $100,000 with interest and penalties. I'd been putting off dealing with the issue, then I heard an ad for Optima and decided to call them. It was the best decision I've ever made. They got my debt settled for pennies on the dollar and made the process painless. I would recommend Optima to anyone in need of help with tax issues. Everyone was very helpful and nice and made the whole process easy.

When I first contacted Optima about my tax problem, I didn't know what to expect. After speaking with them I felt very much at ease and was certain they knew how to handle my situation. After paying the fees and sending them the paperwork they needed, they went right to work. It took about 5 months and they kept me informed throughout the process. In the end it was worth it to me. They got me a deal where I can make affordable payments to the IRS. Thank you Optima for having my back.

Just simply outstanding support from beginning to even after your settlement is made. For years I paid monthly payments to THE(IRS) only barely keeping up on interest and penalties with no end in sight. If you are on the fence about Optima, drop any skepticism. A first class outfit.

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has been in...

contact with the client prior to receiving the complaint and had a resolution in place.    RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. As the client stated in his complaint, he hired Optima Tax for representation to address an outstanding tax liability. As part of our approach, Optima Tax will conduct a thorough investigation of the client’s case based on the information that we obtain from the IRS. Thereafter, Optima Tax analyzed the available options that we could present to the client to solve his liability. Optima Tax then presented the client with our formulated strategy for resolving his case during our Resolution phase.     The client decided to move forward with our Resolution phase and paid the initial down payment but ceased making any payments thereafter. Optima Tax made repeated attempts to reschedule the agreed upon drafts, but the client proved to be nonresponsive to any of our attempts at contact. At that point, because the client failed to make any response to our attempts at contacting him, Optima Tax ceased performing any services until communication could be reestablished.   In addition, since making the initial down payment the client’s assigned tax preparation team made repeated attempts to establish communication with the client in order to progress with preparing his tax returns, but the client remained nonresponsive. During that time, at no point did the client inform Optima Tax that he will have a 3rd party agency prepare his tax returns. Shortly after communication was finally established, the client requested to cancel our services and inquired about a refund on or about July 29, 2016. From that point on, multiple representatives attempted to establish communication to address his requests. During this time period, communication with the client proved to be difficult to coordinate but we were able to come to a mutually acceptable resolve. Unfortunately, thereafter the client filed this complaint and has failed to comply with our original agreement.   At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possible. Optima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will continue to reach out to the client until we come to a final resolve. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions. Thank you.

Optima Tax's management contacted the client to address his
concerns and the client is...

satisfied with the outcome.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to
address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. As the client indicated in his
complaint, he came to Optima Tax
with a wage garnishment already instituted by the IRS. As part of the
Investigation services, Optima Tax
was to engage the IRS and thoroughly investigate his case while attempting to
negotiate the release of the clients wage garnishment. Optima Tax diligently
performed this duty and typically we are highly successful in releasing wage
garnishments. Unfortunately however, the IRS would not approve the release of
the garnishment, despite our best efforts, due to exigent circumstances in the
client’s case. Furthermore, the IRS agent assigned to the client’s case proved
to be non-responsive despite our many calls and leaving multiple messages. This
directly affected our ability to provide the client with any type of update
related to his liability. After we were able to make contact with the IRS
agent, they provided us with the conditions to release the garnishment, to
which Optima Tax fully informed the client. After informing the client of our
efforts, he understands that a great amount of time and energy went into his
case. More so, he understands that Optima does not trap its clients into our
services, and that we could not provide a thorough update prior to the 15 day
refund policy due to the non-responsive IRS agent. More importantly, we were
able to come to a mutual agreement that is satisfactory to all parties.

At Optima

that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to

client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closed. Please do

Optima Tax was amazing! Basically, the IRS said I owed them a bunch of money and I didn't agree. So I called Optima Tax after hearing about it on the radio and they took care of everything. They communicated with the IRS and submitted all the paperwork so I could get on with my life. I don't want to get specific but the IRS claimed I owed them a 5 figure dollar amount and Optima Tax settled it for a 3 figure dollar amount. I'm sure the IRS was on the verge of sending armed federal agents to my home, seizing everything I owned along with my wife and 4 young children. Optima Tax saved me, my family, and probably everything I own.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to
address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. Our services are broken down
into two phases, an Investigation Phase and the Resolution Phase. Although the
client did provide us with information about his unfortunate liability, one of
the main reasons we perform an Investigation is to discover all the stipulations
the IRS has made. In addition, we investigate whether the IRS has accurately
determined the client’s tax liability, so that Optima Tax can formulate the
best options to resolve the client’s overall liability. Ultimately, performing
our Investigation allows us to obtain an overall understanding of the
complexity of a case, which is the foundation for the actions we take in the
Resolution Phase. We thoroughly educated the client on our two Phase approach
prior to commencing our services. After we completed our Investigation we
presented the client with our findings. Although the information we presented
was virtually the same, we none the less successfully obtained a stay of
collections, as the client was deep into collection activity. Based off the
complexity of the client’s case, he would require a team of Tax Professionals
and Tax Attorneys to be assigned to his case in order to resolve his liability,
and this required a high retainer fee for the Resolution Phase.  Although it’s unfortunate the client decided
to move in a different direction we are pleased to say that we came to a mutual
resolve that satisfied both the client and Optima Tax
Relief.

Optima...

Tax's management is in communication with the client and
we are currently working out a mutual agreement.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management was in communication with the client and
we are addressing her concerns as outlined in the complaint. As the client
stated, based on our professional analysis, Optima Tax recommended that we
amend her tax returns. Amending a tax return may not be such a simple
task.  It requires high level of
professionalism and expertise to carry out the task and we’d like to emphasize
that based on our expertise and diligent efforts, we were able to significantly
reduce her IRS liability by about 80%!  The
client unfortunately claims that we did not provide any resolution however; we
hope she understands that a quality work was done to achieve such an
outstanding outcome.

Furthermore,
it is our policy that any and all messages are returned within a reasonable
amount of time - typically our staff will reach out within 24-48 hours. We deal
with high level tax liabilities which will require in-depth research while we
build the case for an optimal result. Although it may be frustrating to leave a
message, we always return our client’s call. We apologize for such frustration,
however, we also ask for understanding by our clients.  In light of our continued effort to provide
great customer service, we are working with the client towards a mutual
resolution.

Optima Tax saved me when my problems with the IRS seemed insurmountable. They quickly took control of my situation and walked me through every step.

I wish I could do a TV spot for Optima Tax Relief. Not only was I several years behind, it took almost two years to get all my information to Optima. Over that period of time not only did they let me pay as I was able, they never put any deadline or pressure on me at any time. The most important thing of all was they keep the I.R.S. off my back!!! That to me is priceless! I have and do recommend Optima to anyone having any tax issues whatsoever! Thank You Optima for your patience, kindness, and all your help!

From start to finish they were outstanding. Really cared about my case, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Once again I disagree because the internal revenue agent had not heard from anyone to discuss my tax case and for that reason a levy/garnishment was ordered. The topic of estimated tax was brought up and was not ignored, I told Optimal Tax that I did not have the money because of previous levy/garnishment that ended in July. Also I told the person at Optima Tax how can I pay when they just deducted a total of $3,500 from my account and a payment of $1,300 was paid to IRS. I did receive a phone call December 31 eventhough I told them I no longer needed their services. This company falsely advertised their services and I don't know how they received a high rating with the Revdex.com.

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has attempted to reach out to the client to formally address their concerns but the client has refused to communicate with Optima Tax.     RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has made numerous attempts to address the client’s complaint but each attempt the...

client has been combative and refused to communicate. As the client stated, he initially spoke to Optima Tax in January in regards to assisting the client with the client’s outstanding tax liability. Subsequently, the clients engage Optima Tax’s services in April 2017 after have multiple conversations regarding our services. After reviewing the calls, the assigned Tax Associate presented our services in detail and those services did not include any representation for the State of New Jersey. Furthermore, the client never inquired about State representation and if so, they would had been advised that Optima Tax does not provide representation in the State of New Jersey.   After reviewing the case, the client was given clear expectations to the services Optima Tax would provide. During a conversation with one of the Servicing Reps on May 5, 2017, the client had been informed that we do not handle the State of New Jersey. The client understood and wanted to proceed with the Investigation Services.   Although we have been met with resistance we will continue our efforts to establish a strong line of communication while working towards a mutual resolve. We are hopeful that we can have a professional conversation with the client and more importantly, address any questions and or concerns they may have.   At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophy. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
In fact, this is exactly how Optima duped me as a consumer - very clear and repeated verbal promises were made, based on which I agreed to proceed with the services. Yet as soon as the company received my money, they promptly changed their position and since that time they have been hiding behind "if you do not have it in writing, then you are out of luck !".Furthermore, in an attempt to achieve a resolution, [redacted] (from Optima) and I agreed that the company would obtain a tax penalty abatement, the amount of which would then be deducted from the disputed amount of $10,000.00, and the balance would be refunded to me. Unfortunately the IRS refused to extend any penalty abatement, and although I repeatedly approached Optima after this resolution, all my emails have gone unanswered, as well as my last two messages that I have left.Based on Optima's response to this complaint, it is very clear that the company has no interest in resolving the issue, and at this point I see no other alternative than to pursue a public media campaign and legal action in an attempt to put a stop to Optima's fraudulent business practices.
