I am rejecting this response because:The point is not about the refund. The point is about their deceptive business practice of automatically charging consumer charge cards.This practice is common on the Internet and should be stopped.

At the time of purchase on 1/31/2015 instead of choosing the normal priced People Search Report at $1.95 you chose to receive a discounted price of $0.95 for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. This membership allowed you to receive an unlimited number of:•People...

Searches – Get the facts you need to find anyone, anywhere•Email Searches – Obtain email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address•Social Profile Searches – See updates on all of your friend’s social profiles in one spot•Marriage Searches – Find out if a man or woman has ever been married•Divorce Searches – Check the divorce status of any man or woman•Property Searches – Learn about any piece of property, including the current owner and  valueYou had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter. Our records show that per your request over the phone on 3/8/2015 your Membership was cancelled, your account was closed and there will be no further automatic billing.

The customer's initial purchase was a Background Report on [redacted] for $19.95. This product came with a 3 day trial period of our Background Report Membership. The customer then ran another report on [redacted] and was not billed for it, since they were using the trial membership. They...

did not cancel within the 3 days, therefore they were billed the membership fee as the website states. As a courtesy, we have refunded $29.95 today. There will be no further renewals.

After my initial call to peoplefinder's I asked to speak with a manger.  One did call back and offered me an additional month credit.  (That is a change from my original complaint).  I was charged for Jan., Feb., March and April.  They initially agreed to credit back April, March...

then later added in Feb.  My bank is looking into it as well under unauthorized charge.  So at this point, I am looking for January for $24.95 as well as having them remove my credit card info from their server.I feel there is a ton of people saying the same thing on the Internet.  I almost feel like they hope people won't notice.  Does not seem right.

A trial was purchased on 05/02/17. The trial needed to be canceled not to be billed the $24.95 for the month. We have issued a refund for $24.95 and canceled the membership.

I reject the response from Peoplefinders because:They never addressed their unethical and unauthorized debit to my account, or their misleading and hidden “membership” charges, or their “bait” (with a $.95”one time search” that is not available except being) “switched” (to a three day trail that becomes a monthly charge if NOT CANCELLED) ALL of which are not disclosed on the pricing page.In their response, peoplefinder.com indicated, that I had two choices:1.)    “to accept a special discount price available with a monthly membership for $.95 (No mention of a monthly charge of $24.95 again)2.)    ..OR the full price for a search without member ship for $3.95”They said in their response that I selected the $.95 option. I am faxing a copy of my order form/pricing page with a $.95 charge. There is NO membership information after the total, as the response indicated there was.My pricing page does NOT indicated any information about a “membership” Or about additional pending monthly charges after seven days or my obligation to cancel a membership within three days of mu one-time purchase(?) Hundreds of customers have complained of the same hidden charges senerio. Finally, I quote ”Miss Manners” ([redacted]) in an interview for Smithsonian Magazine July-August 2011. In response to the questions: What etiquette breach do you most dislike? She said “the major etiquette problem in America…is blatant greet. It’s people who are scheming to get money and possessions from other people, and who believe that they are entitled to do so. The ancient practices of …(civility) are being undermined by this rampant greed.”I add my complaint to hundreds of others regarding peoplefinders.com (especially the hundreds of similar complaints on”peoplefinders.pissedconsumers.com”).Again, to resolve this complaint, peoplefinder.com needs to reimburse me (and others) for damages incurred by their unauthorized use of credit cards. They need to FIX their business model. They need to address the deficiencies in their business practices to reduce the complaints against them. They need to have a customer service department that is responsive to correcting the complaints against them. They need to MORE clearly and conspicuously correct their pricing page; They need to stop deceptive on-line marketing and “baiting”And finally, stop being a apart of the major etiquette problem in America today!

I am rejecting this response because:  Upon contacting my credit card company, and providing them with the explanation offered by Peoplefinders.com, I was told that, in fact, my card had been charged.  Peoplefinders.com is in error in their assessment of this situation as evidenced by the fact that my credit card company, [redacted] corroborates my version of the facts.  I also see no acknowledgement of the fact that the way I was treated by Amy was not in line with Peoplefinders.com's customer service approach.  I would like a written apology from Peoplefinders.com regarding the abhorrent manner in which this woman treated me.  Since the phone conversation was recorded, it's simply a matter of listening to the interaction to discern how rude she acted.

Per this request, and as a onetime courtesy, we will grant one refund for the most current month of membership (October).  Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card. Please allow time for your financial institution to review the charges for validity. Usually this process will take a few billing cycles and they will notify you of the outcome via mail. You will now need to follow their policies and procedures regarding these charges.

I am rejecting this response because:Your policies are intentionally misleading. You know people will be confused and you plan that they will not fight back. I talked with my credit card company and they said they get complaints about your business all the time. Face it, you are scamming people.

I am rejecting this response because:the he email address associated with the account is [email protected].  Your product was Completly wirthless.  And innacurate.  I was finding the same phone numbers repeated for different searches- for different people.  Not only was the info innacurate- there was not one helpful search for cell phone numbers out of 50+ searches!  Not one.  A scam.  We want our money back.

Actually,Peoplefinder's response is anything but "satisfactory " to me, however, I am going to accept this response simply because I do not wish to pursue any further correspondence with this company.  Peoplefinder's is a typical scam artist company that takes advantage of people who fail to read the fine print.  They also make it nearly impossible to terminate the "subscription" once someone realizes that they are paying $24.95/month for the "subscription ". I hope enough people complain about their underhanded tactics and extremely rude customer sevice managers and someone puts a stop to this fraudulent and unprofessional business. The sooner this company is shut down , the better.Thank you Revdex.com for your help in this matter.
