Plumbing Masters Reviews (408)

Review: I am writing in behalf of my father who is a retired pharmacist. My father discovered that he had a leak in his hot water pipe located in the concrete foundation of his home. He called his insurance company and they told him to get an estimate from a plumbing company. My father chose Plumbing Masters to come give an estimate. Upon arriving, the technician assured my father that the repair would be covered by the insurance company and that my father should just have him fix the problem immediately. My mother questioned the technician if he was certain the repair would be covered by the insurance company and suggested they wait to receive confirmation from the insurance company before they proceeded. The technician guaranteed that the cost would be covered by the insurance company and my father, who is a very honest and trusting man, allowed the technician to proceed to fix the problem. The technician wrote up an invoice which listed my father's portion of the bill was to be 315.00. Upon completion, Plumbing Masters charged a total of 5745.00. My father submitted the bill to his insurance company and they denied the claim. My father, being an honest man, went to his bank and had to take out a loan to pay the full amount to Plumbing Masters. After a long drawn out process and many phone calls by myself and my brother-in-law to Plumbing Masters and my father's insurance company we were able to get a portion of the total paid by the insurance company. In the process, to help justify payment, Plumbing Masters general manager wrote a letter to the insurance company claiming damage that did not exist to verify the claim. My complaint is three-fold: first, the technician took advantage of a trusting man and proceeded with a repair that was not guaranteed to be covered by the insurance company; second, Plumbing Masters charged an outrageous price for a repair that my brother-in-law had done at his own house for one fourth the cost; and third, Plumbing Masters falsified information to get payment from the insurance company. It is poor business policy to take advantage of a retired honest man on a fixed income. Misleading my father into believing his insurance company would pay for the repair and then taking his money without a conscious is deplorable. Misleading insurance companies to ensure payment is also a very unethical practice.Desired Settlement: A refund to my father for the amount of the bill not covered by the insurance company would be an acceptable settlement. Discontinuing unethical practices of taking advantage of elderly clients and misleading insurance companies would also be desired.

Revdex.com Complaint# [redacted]

On December 18, 2013 Plumbing Masters received a call from Mr. [redacted] that he had a leak in the kitchen under the tile and wanted us to detect the leak.

Our charge for this service is $315, we waive this fee if the work is done.

The technicians discovered a leak under the slab and recommended are-rout of pipe to fix the problem (see invoice# [redacted] attached).

The technicians explain to the customer that most insurance companies will pay for access and repair of the access and any damages, however they do not pay to fix the leak.

See attached fax dated 12/21/13 with breakdown to insurance company with total of $2687.00.

Plumbing Masters was forthcoming with Mr. [redacted] and promptly assisted him with his claim to the insurance company.

Plumbing masters as a courtesy deals with insurance companies. Plumbing masters uses language that the insurance adjuster understands to make the claim smooth and delivers prompt payment to the customer.

In conclusion plumbing masters repaired the problem and promptly assisted the customer in settling the claim with the insurance company.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Unfortunately, I am unable to accept the response of Mr. [redacted] from the Plumbing Masters company as there was no offer of remorse or wrongdoing on their part, only justification for their questionable business practices. Under good conscience, I cannot let the response go unaddressed for fear the said company would continue to mislead other unsuspecting clients. I will address the portions of Mr. [redacted]’s response:The assertion by Mr. [redacted] that “the technicians explained to the customer that most insurance companies will pay for access and repair of the access and any damages, however they do not pay to fix the leak” was not what my parents were actually told. They were assured by the technician, as I previously explained, that the repair would be covered by the insurance company and there was no need to wait to receive a confirmation or get a second opinion. Even after my mother questioned the technician again, she was assured the insurance would cover their portion. The assertion by Mr. [redacted] that “Plumbing Masters was forthcoming with Mr. [redacted] and promptly assisted him with his claim to the insurance company” is completely false. I have three witnesses, myself, my brother in law, and the insurance representative that can testify how difficult it was to reach Mr. [redacted] and how delayed his responses were. Basically, I would call the insurance company to check on the status of the claim and they would tell me they had placed a call to Mr. [redacted] and were waiting for his response. I would then call Plumbing Masters and leave a message for Mr. [redacted] and then call my brother in law who would do the same. Eventually, Mr. [redacted] would return my brother in laws call. I am certain Mr. [redacted] would have been content to “walk away” from this situation due to the fact that my honest, trusting father paid him the full balance of the repair. Only as a result of due diligence, on the part of myself and my brother in law, was there a portion of recompense returned from the insurance company. The assertion by Mr. [redacted] that “Plumbing Masters uses language that the insurance adjuster understands to make the claim smooth and delivers prompt payment to the customer”, is very interesting considering the “language” used by Mr. [redacted] in his email to the insurance company stated that “our plumbers found a manifold in the wall between the kitchen and the hall to be leaking, causing damage to the drywall, cabinets and damage to the concrete slab”. This statement was false. I don’t quite understand how falsifying damage helps the “insurance adjuster understand” except that that is the way Plumbing Masters ensures insurance payments. As I previously stated in my initial complaint with the Revdex.com, I would like to see the outcome, notwithstanding a reimbursement to my father, of “discontinuing unethical practices of taking advantage of elderly clients and misleading insurance companies.” Until some resemblance of remorse or recompense is made, I will stand behind my complaint in an effort to thwart future unethical practices of this company. Regards,[redacted]

Concern ID #: [redacted]

Hello All,

This is [redacted]

[redacted] owner of Plumbing Masters. I

saw this response by our customer and it concerned me. [redacted] and I set an appointment to meet with

the family and go over all their concerns.

After this meeting I realized that we had made some big mistakes and I

am sorry for them. I am going to refund

$1500 and address the way we handle our customer so this will not happen to

someone else. Also about the

communication with the insurance company, I called them and verified that they

approved the claim from the information they got from the plumber that did the

work. I regret to say that Plumbing

Masters had failed this customer and that is why they had to go to the Revdex.com. I will put systems, and procedures, and

proper people in place to prevent this in the future. Our goal is to make sure that every customer

is 100% satisfied and that they will be our customers for life. Before I left Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]’s home I

asked if doing this would make them happy, and they told me yes.

Thank You,

Owner

I am a senior citizen, and Plumbing Masters' tech assumed, correctly, that I did not know the price for replacing my water heater. He charged me $1449, which I can ill afford - I had to charge it, and it took me months to pay it off. I found out later, from talking with other people, that the job should have cost $650 - $950 at the most, which means I was overcharged by at least $500. That is 50% TOO MUCH! I called later to complain, and my son wrote a letter to Brian M[redacted], their General Manager, but he has never even replied.

I had Robin from Plumbing Masters today , he was polite , efficient and answered any questions I had . I would recommend Robin to anyone.

I called Plumbing Masters after many days of my water heater malfunctioning. A technician came over within hours. They also took the time to speak with my warranty company so all the correct parts were replaced. I would recommend Plumbing Masters over any plumbing company I have ever dealt with. Its hard to find not only promptness but reasonable prices now a days.

Plumbing Masters are great! I would recommend them highly! Especially Robin who was professional, fast and fair with his service. I am very happy with this company and the next time I need a plumber I will use them again and request Robin.

I had the best service and so very happy that I had a honest and pleasant person who came to my home. He found the problem and the service was done quickly and it was afforadable.

unreasonably expensive. They charged me $500 for repair of leaky faucet. They did not even grant the $50 discount coupon which they advertised on their web site. The parts they said cost more than $100 which I checked and it was $40. I don't do business with them anymore and wont recommend them either.

Hello I just want to let you no that Mr Joe m[redacted] did a great job on fixing my water outlet nozzle he's also a great guy thank you your truly odie dumas

I had a significant plumbing issue and Roger A[redacted] did a great job of explaining all aspects of the job and followed up until it was 100% right. Very good customer service which made a difficult situation less stressful. The Office provided excellent Customer Service and Communications as well. I would definitely recommend Plumbing Masters.

Allen the plumber u sent to fountain hills did a fantastic job I would recommend him for any job

Thanks for a job well done! Plumbing Masters have a great professional and caring plumber named Robin. When he came in the front door on 9-21-2015 he asked about our problem and after a very short discussion he told us that most likely we had a leak in the vent pipe inside the wall and he had not even gone upstairs to look over the situation yet...how is that for being knowledgeable about his profession! Yes, he was right on with his diagnoses and soon had a leak in the vent fixed and our house smelling great again! Decided we would show him our kitchen faucet which needed to be replaced and he went to work on getting us a new beautiful one and installing the same day! We had wanted a professional plumber and we certainly got one in Robin

[redacted]. came out and did a great job finding the problem and getting it fixed. He basically fixed up work that other sub-standard plumbers left behind. I will call Plumbing Masters again because of the level of service that he provided.

we found that Plumbing Masters was very cordial and answering our emergency need over the holiday to fix the problem we had with our bathroom I'm working properly they tried real hard and found someone that was willing to come out and help us get the problem taken care of efficiently and explain different services that they offer also we are very pleased with them and we would recommend him highly Marilyn K[redacted] service man was Charles and he was very cordial and we were happy to see him and he did everything he could to help us so we would highly recommend Charles

BEWARE, apparently Plumbing Masters is spending more time teaching their service technicians how to sale other products than provide the repair service requested. We called for service for a leak under the kitchen sink. As soon as the technician walked in the front door, he was selling a monthly service agreement. He spent a few minutes looking at the reverse osmosis system and suggested we talk to another representative about a whole house water conditioner that would replace our current reverse osmosis and soft water systems. He offered a complimentary inspection of household plumbing, and now recommended that we replace all 10 shut off valves, toilet tank rebuilds or replace both toilets completely. Several thousands of dollars of quotes for items that currently work fine. We are now on to this up-sale tactic, called and cancelled the next appointment with the other sales rep and requested that he just return and fix our leak. This time he spent more time looking at the problem and left us with the same leak and another quote to rebuild the reverse osmosis system at $429 or purchase new at $597. So we paid both service calls ($109.00) or should I say paid them to try and sell us unnecessary items. Now we are disgusted with two calls and still have the leak, so we called a different plumber who came out and promptly fixed our leak at much less cost. Having seen a Plumbing Masters commercial recently that stated if you are not happy with our service, we will refund your money. I called and explained the above. Their reply was that they would refund if they provided any service, but we only paid for a service call, no work was done, so this does not fall under their refund policy.

Arrived to replace my hot water heater within 1-2 hours. Professional, good price, very thorough.

We were very impressed with our Rep and the company overall. THey provide a profile of the rep as well. Johnny was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a full explanation of what was going on with our plumbing issues.

Review: I had a plugged up sink in the kitchen. The technician first quoted a charge of under 200 dollars to use snake,

then he said that is not going to solve the problem, then he said there will be an additional charge of over 500

dollars. In the end, the technician quoted a total of over 700 dollars! This was to unplug the drain. After the technician

had left, I thought about the amount and the work that was done, the charge was a big rip off! And to boot, my tenant said,

oh by the way the technician said there is a leak under the sink, where there was not a leak before he arrived. I called Plumbing

Masters, they finally called me back after almost 2 weeks, I talked to [redacted] and then to [redacted], they refused to give me credit for

the snake job they completed. The technician should have told me the issue at hand, then I would have asked for the 2nd procedure which, in my mind was still way too expensive.Desired Settlement: All I want is that this company, Plumbing Masters give me credit for $200.00. I do not want them to come back to my property to fix

the leak they created. I am very unhappy with the outrages charges. I feel they have taken advantage of me and hope that going forward,

they do not rip off people in the future.

Response:

The Issue was resolved with the customer. the customer is happy

I am new to the area, the bathroom drain was slow and the garbage disposal was not working. I asked the plumber [redacted] to install a Badger and check the bathroom drain.

My bill was almost $1000.00 after he did a 'complimentary inspection' and had to fix two other shutoff valves. one of which he broke off while 'checking' it.

BEWARE. THESE PEOPLE WILL GOUDGE AN UNASSUMING CONSUMER.

When I called to see if they could adjust their invoice, after a few calls and my complaints, they offered to send out someone to fix the bathroom drain [redacted] never even looked at.

We are both retiree living in a retirement community. We had a plumbing problem with a kitchen sink drainage that was backing up when we ran the disposal (my wife inadvertently ran some stingy vegetables through the disposal). I was not at home so my wife asked the association a recommendation for a plumber. They recommended Plumbing Masters. Plumbing Masters sent a repairman who arrived later than the time interval promised. He proceeded by finding all sorts of wrong things like blockage in the pipes that according to him were probably from the construction. This is a house that is still new and we never notice any blockage. My wife does not know anything about pluming and did not challenge his findings. Consequently, he proceeded by billing us $317.95 for unclogging a sink!

[redacted] did a fantastic job solving my plumbing problems. I recommend him highly.
