Powertrain Direct Reviews (%countItem)

My husband purchased a motor in January 2019 and sent core back on February 8th 2019. It's been almost 2 months and still haven't recieved our $300 core deposit. So out of a 5 star rating I will give the a 0 cause now their not answering the phone or emails. I think that is a pretty messed up way to do business.

Powertrain Direct will not refund my core deposite.
On August 29 20018 I purchased a engine from Powertrain Direct and they charged me a 450 dollar core fee. I received the engine and later sent the core engine back in January 2019. I never heard back from Powertrain Direct so I called and talked to their core department and was told that my core was received and it passed their usable core standards and they were running behind on core refund payments and it would be another month before I seen any refund. I have made multiple calls to them checking on my core and I get every excess the book. Anything from the new owners are jerks, call back in a few hours we'll have a check number for you, your check is in the mail, and now I get put on hold and no one will pick up.

Desired Outcome

I want my 450 dollars with interest and a written letter of apology. But that's a stretch I know. I'll settle for my 450 dollars.

We have been attempting to arrange core engine pickup but no one picks up and they owe $450.00 + $100.00 for previous service issues, late deliveries
We originally contacted FordTruckEngines.com in regards to purchasing a brand new 5.4L engine for our 2005 Ford F-250. The FordTruckEngines.com said on their website to be out of *** Street, Suite *** Southlake Texas XXXXX but when we contacted to company regarding our engine not arriving the day it was supposed to, we were informed that they also go by Powertrain***.com, FordTruck***.com, ChevyTruck***.com, Diesel***.com and Jeep***.com and that our engine was coming from Powertrain***.com out of *** Rd.
Argyle, Tx XXXXX. We ordered the engine on 11/20 for $3,500.00 which we were told would show up at the mechanics 11/23/18. They never withdrew any money from my banking account until 11/23/18 and the engine never showed up. When contacted, they said it was supposed to be Friday 11/30 not 11/23 when in reality the engine never showed up until a month later on 12/29/18. We were able to arrange for a $100.00 refund due to the extremely late delivery which they said they were going to include with the core refund of $450.00 for a total of $550.00. We attempted to contact someone the second week of January to arrange pickup of the core and have never heard from a single person again despite calling multiple numbers and sending emails on a weekly basis for the last 3 months. One of the only names we got was Matt which we believe was a supervisor that said he would give us the $100.00 on top of the core charge and his number is (XXX)XXX-XXXX. We were told to contact the core department (XXX)XXX-XXXX to arrange the pickup. Every time we called, we were able to leave messages at first which were never returned, same as all the emails but now if we call, it rings twice and goes to a busy signal. We have also tried numbers for customer service, X-XXX-XXX-XXXX, X-XXX-XXX-XXXX, and X-XXX-XXX-XXXX as well as the two headquarter numbers, X-XXX-XXX-XXXX and XXX-XXX-XXXX. The original engine has been crated and waiting to be picked up since the second week of January from *** Auto *** Lane Northern Cambria, PA XXXXX. We tried contacting them again today, 3/28/19, and only got two rings and a busy signal. The last time we contacted and actually talked to someone was approximately the first week of January 2019.

Desired Outcome

Both my husband and I and the mechanic wish to have the core engine, which has been sitting and taking up space at his business since January 8th, to be picked up by the company as they stated they would and our refund of $100.00 for extremely poor service and late delivery of the original item which we negotiated and the $450.00 that we were supposed to receive for our core, total of $550.00, to be paid to us as they stated on their website and the few times we were able to actually speak to a person.

they took my $1599 on February 18 , told me that I should receive the transmission in 5-7 business days, today is March 27 I STILL haven't received it yet, no one is taken my calls or answering my emails

Still waiting for my core deposit return from Sept of 2018. Called several times with promises of check being mailed out. Now the phone lines arent working

I ordered and paid for a transmission and it was never delivered nor have they returned any of my phone calls or emails.
on march 14th, 2019, I ordered and paid for a new transmission from Sam P. with powertrain direct. I was told it would be delivered in 3-5 business days. I was never given a tracking number and I have called and emailed countless times with no response with the status of my order.

Desired Outcome

I want a full and immediate refund.

I bought an engine from powertrain Direct in December. I received my engine for my car and was promised a $450 core fee. They said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to process but we are going on the fourth month. I have called and they were nice at first saying it would be mailed out February 18th and it is now March 25th and I haven't received anything from them. I have called and emailed them with no response and no sign of my money. This is crazy.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I want them to send me the $450 they promo when they received my motor and core. It has been a month with no response I have emailed and called them. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

company is not honoring their warranty on the transmissions the sell.
I purchased a rebuilt transmission from Powertrain Direct in October of 2017 for a ford econoline e350 van when I purchased it I was told it would have a 3 year 75000 mile parts and labor warranty. This transmission failed after 10 months in service and they did send me a new unit in July of 2018 but this unit has now failed in January of this year. We have been in business for 31 year as a certified auto repair shop and when we replaced this unit we replaced both oil cooler and radiator to make sure there was no contaminate left in the system to damage the new transmission. I can provide proof of the purchases to prove such if needed. I am not able to get anyone at their office to return my calls and honor the warranty.

Desired Outcome

send me a new transmission as they have picked up the old unit and I have no transmission of any kind so I can't even have the failed unit rebuilt or replaced as they have it.

Through this company I had a 3 year warranty. I also purchased the "no questions asked" warranty. Upon needing a replacement product. I found it difficult to come into contact with the company. I then went through my invoice and bill of lading forms to retrieve a contact number. I came into contact with another company, Accurate Engines, who informed me, Engines and Transmissions Inc., is no longer in business. They went ahead to tell me they will not honor the warranty as they did not directly sell me the engine.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I am currently without a car, as the warranty was not covered or handled. I would like a refund for the engine and warranty.

My engine core refund was not delivered as promised by management.
I received a bad core for my 2000 Ford Ranger, it was returned and I received another one. I contacted the manager and he promised me that my core deposit would be in the mail by the second week of February. I have yet to receive it. I am a disabled veteran, and I was counting on the money.

Desired Outcome

All I want is my money.

Am owed $1500 for an engine core refund that was promised for 5 months.
On Oct 24, 2018, I purchased a Dodge Diesel rebuilt engine from Powertrain Direct. I returned my engine core within 2 weeks and was told it will be soon for my refund. Middle of December I checked and got nowhere with customer service. Middle of January, the core guy Josh assures me that the check is going out Jan 29. Did it, NO! Early March, waited for 30 minutes and talked to the same old Josh that was really SORRY for the delay but he would try to get something done soon. I said I would be happy to drive to their office to get my money as it was apparent that they would be going out of business soon with this customer service! Looks like I was right!

Desired Outcome

Refund of the $1500 that I am owed for engine core

Ordered a transmission from website after contacting the company. Payment was required to order the transmission. We paid from personal account $1485 and financed the remainder of amount through Snap credit. Order and money was received at company March 6, 2019 order was promised to deliver in 5 to 7 business days. As of today we have not received order. I have contacted company many times and have been given numerous reasons as why it has not shipped. First was financing not received but upon calling finance company the money was there on 3-6. 3/18 I was told would ship 3/19. Today I was told it would ship Friday 3/22 because now it was in quality control. Another problem is that this company will not answer phone. I have called days at a time several times a day with no answer and no call back when leaving message. I have documentation for all correspondence. I have decided to cancel order but was told I couldn't

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Money returned and Snap financial agreement cancelled

Did not receive my order yet, its been almost a month since I ordered/paid for it.
I want a refund for my order since they did not deliver the transmission that they promised within 5-6 days. I purchased and paid the tranny ( talked to Sam *** ( confirmation #: XXXXX-mov)on 2-27-19, it's 3-21-19 now and no delivery. They are good at taking my credit card number and charging it but everytime I call to get an update on my order, no body answers. I want my money back.

Desired Outcome

Please make Powertrain Direct refund my hard earned money. I can't believe at this day and age there are still people that would take advantage of people, specially in Texas.

They have not repaid my refundable $450 deposit, nor responded to my numerous attempts to contact them via email or voicemail for almost 3 months.
I purchased a remanufactured engine for my 2007 Suburban on 12-18-2018 and paid a $450 core deposit which was to be refunded to me upon return of my old engine core to them. Order # XXXXX. They shipped the engine to my mechanic, he returned the old core to them. I have not heard from them in nearly 3 months. I have contacted them via email and voice mail (because they never answer the phone) several times, and they have failed to return my calls or emails and have not refunded by $450 core deposit according to the purchase terms they gave me. There are problems with the remanufactured engine they sold me, but those are separate from their failure to refund my core deposit of $450.00.

Desired Outcome

Four hundred and fifty dollars, American money, immediately. Pretty simple, actually.

I purchased an engine that came with a full 3 year warranty. Engine does not work and they will not return calls for replacement or return.
On May 9, 2018 I purchased an engine for a 1986 Ford Ranger on my Capital One credit card. Purchase comes with a full 3 year unlimited miles warranty . Receipt and warranty was to be emailed to me (this is their standard method of communication for remote sales) after credit card sale. No receipt or warranty ever arrived even after repeated phone calls & requests. The engine core, weighing 500 pounds, on BOL number: XXXXXXXXXXXX, with return credit value of $1,625 was shipped back to PowerTrain Direct Return Center at *** Dr., Addsion, TX, on August 8, 2018 through R&L Carriers. (Signed bill of lading on our premises). No credit for core return ever appeared on our credit card. Repeated phone calls to PowerTrain resulted in being bounced around. Calls and conversations were had with Don at XXX-XXX-XXXX on 5/9/18, Steve at XXX-XXX-XXXX, Hannoa on 9/29/18, Josh, Sam, Josh and others. After months of pushing, Josh told me the core refund was to appear on our card on Friday, 9/21/18. No credit ever appeared. The warranty confirmation number is XXXXX. While waiting for core value to be credited back to me, I installed the engine only to find that the head is cracked and defective. Calls to PowerTrain Direct went unreturned after Spetember 2018. They will not return any phone calls. PowerTrain Direct refuses to communicate. Now we have no working engine, and no core value credit. Thus, a full refund of $2330 is due back. PowerTrain Direct is welcome to pay to have the engine shipped back to them.

Desired Outcome

A resolution of: a copy of the original purchase receipt, a copy of the warranty, and a full refund of $2,330.

I paid for a remanufactured transmission on 26Feb 2019 $2328. Transmission has not been delivered!
On 2/26/19, I paid for a remanufactured transmission from PowerTrain Direct in the amount of $2328. At that time, my brother *** spoke with Matt about when to expect the transmission. He said it would be there in a week. I had my Truck towed to Monument Motors on 2/28/19. A week had passed and Justin at Monument Motors started that no transmission has been delivered. My brother tried multiple times to contact Matt about this and after a couple of days finally spoke to him. He told my brother that he forgot that the transmission was on backorder. But that it should be there by 3/14, 3/15, no later than 3/18. Monument Motors is now charging me storage fees for keeping my truck for almost a month. I tried calling multiple time today 3/19/19 and left two messages and my brother has tried also today multiple times and no one will answer their phone. Powertrain Direct took the money from my account and is refusing to return my calls or answer their phone. I either want my transmission delivered and my storage fees paid, or I want my full $2328 refunded to me.

Desired Outcome

I want my remanufactured transmission delivered and my storage fees paid to Monument Motors that I incurred while waiting for my transmission.

ordered a transmission on 18 Feb, canceled on 19 Feb and have not received my refund.
I ordered a transmission on 18 Feb and was told it would be shipped right out since mine was dead. On 19 Feb I was told I needed to take the transmission into dealer for programming, and needed to buy a new transmission cooler. I asked if the transmission was shipped yet and was told it wasn't built and would be shipped out in march. I couldn't wait so I canceled the order with confirmation at 2:16PM on the 19th of feb. I was told by Josh *** that since it was just paid for they would send a check out. I was very upset they couldn't credit the card I paid for it on. It's been a month and I haven't received my refund.

Desired Outcome

Immediate refund

CAUTION, DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME!!! ***You will never see your refund***

Worst Company I have ever dealt with! Don't let their fancy website fool you!

. CAUTION don't get ripped off by these folks like I have been. They are all to eager to get your money and poof you will never hear from them again. I spent $12000.00 yes 12k getting a new motor, transmission and transfer case . Motor showed up in days, impressive! Transmission the following week. After a month no transfer case. Called and talked to Derek who conned me into this purchase and was assured he would get to the bottom of it. A week later, no call , no email, no response. Another week goes by, call and talk to Josh who also told me he would get it straightened out, also told him I need the cores picked up, that no one in customer service ever returns my calls or emails.
He did send me a invoice for what I had already purchased and told me that's how the refunds get sent out, To date , 3 months later, no cores picked up, no refund of $1900 transfer case that I never received. ALL in ALL DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, I am talking to my attorney about legal action at this time as I have felt I have given them plenty of time to correct this situation.
It would not let me leave 0 stars

Power Train direct is a JOKE!!!!! We purchased our engine in Dec 2018. And have sat on hold for 2 hours a week waiting for your rebate check of $500. It is now 3/19/19 and we get the excuse of we cant tell what is going on. But we can not give you a refund this week or next week. So then I asked when can you? Their response....we are unsure. I run a small business and this is not ok! I can not get answers , nor can I talk to anyone above Josh. "Josh" won't tell me who their CEO or president is. Not to mention that I have been very patient up to this point of today. Why can they not tell me where my core charge is? How much longer I have to wait? That is my money and no reason for them to keep it!!!!

Warranty isn't specified, details are few and far in between. Timeline wasn't on sched. Extremely difficult to get ahold of
