I am in receipt of the complaint initiated by the above-mentioned consumer and appreciate the opportunity to respond.  We are sorry that the hotel was unable to accommodate the consumer’s reservation.  Priceline offered the consumer the option to receive a full refund or, re-accommodate the reservation at an alternate property -The [redacted] [redacted]. The following correspondence was sent to the consumer concerning this matter.

Our records indicate that your reservation for request number [redacted] was booked at the [redacted] NEAR [redacted]. The [redacted] NEAR [redacted] has informed us that they will be unable to accommodate your reservation. We have received the consumer’s additional comments.  As you requested, we have again reviewed this
matter to see if we overlooked anything that might support a more favorable
conclusion. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can add to what has already been
stated in our previous correspondence.
Priceline offers a variety travel service options, including
our Retail service where consumers have the option to select specific room type
accommodations. When selecting a reservation, and prior to purchase, the
consumer is provided with the terms and conditions associated with each
reservation.
In this case the consumer selected an Express Deals/Name Your Own
Price reservation that provided greater savings and less
flexibility.
On each
consumer’s contract page, we place the following disclosure regarding this
issue labeled under Important Information.
Important Information


All rooms will accommodate up to 2 people. Requests
for bed types (King, Queen, 2 Doubles, etc.) or other special
requests (including preferences for smoking or non-smoking rooms) should be requested through your confirmed hotel
and cannot be guaranteed by Priceline.






















Can I request a
specific room type?


Depending on the reservation you make, you
may have the option to request a specific room type.


When you make a reservation using our
Retail service, you can select a specific bed type.


When you make a reservation using our Name
Your Own Price (or Express Deals when available) you will not be able to select
a specific room type through Priceline.


All rooms will accommodate up to 2 people. Requests for
bed types (King, Queen, 2 Doubles, etc.) or other special needs (including preferences for smoking or
non-smoking rooms) should be requested through your confirmed hotel and
cannot be guaranteed.

I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Revdex.com,
This was the reply I got from Priceline:
"The card application has to go through a review process and is subject  to credit approval. If you were approved for the Priceline Rewards [redacted]  Card, you will receive your credit card in the mail within 10 business days from the date you were approved. If you were signed in to your priceline profile at the time you were approved, the credit card  information is stored in your profile under the payment info section.  You may use the credit card to make a purchase at any time on our  website. If you were not signed in to your profile at the time you were  approved, you will need to wait until you receive the credit card in the  mail to use it on any purchase. We apologize that we will be unable to provide your request for an immediate $50 cash back. The $50 bonus comes in the form of a statement credit."
While I was grateful for their apology, the crux of the matter is, the statement on the payment page said, "Get $50 of your current purchase," which is clearly impossible, due to the above requirements regarding obtaining a Priceline credit card, and whether or not you were signed in at the time, which also isn't mentioned on that payment page. I therefore still submit this is false advertising, designed to get people to apply for the [redacted] card, which, does impact people's credit history if they're denied. All I'm asking if that they admit this small piece of their advertising puzzle is misleading, grant me my $50, so we can all move on here.

Our record indicates that $943.05  was refunded on 3/8/16 to the credit card ending [redacted]. The consumer was also provided with an added a $100 on board credit as a gesture of goodwill.

The consumer
is unable to provide any details of the purchase and states:
 “The person who wrongfully was
allowed to purchase tickets with my credit card (without any other confirmation
of my information from that person) would be the person who has that
information, not myself the person who's credit card was used.”

Desired Settlement:




“I would like my money put
back in my bank account and priceline.com required to require more
information from credit card consumers, even just a billing address”
   


In
cases where unauthorized charges are placed on a credit card account, as
alleged by the consumer, the credit card holder must report the claim to the
credit card-issuing bank.              The
bank will investigate the credit card holder’s claim,
and priceline will always assist with any credit card investigation inquires.

reservations are duplicates and therefore requests a refund.

She also verified that they are still waiting for you at the front desk so that
they can assist and provide you a non-handicapped room.
Please note that the rate you purchased is non-refundable. You have selected

the reservation. The room type that was selected during the booking process,
Best Package Rate, will comfortably sleep up to 1 person. This means that the
room assignment is not guaranteed until arrival at the hotel and is subject to availability.
Requests for special needs (including preferences for smoking or non-smoking
rooms, bed/room type) should be requested through your confirmed hotel and
cannot be guaranteed. This information was presented to you prior to purchase
when you were asked to review your reservation, including the terms associated
with cancellations or changes, the name of the hotel selected, the star rating

When we called the eight hundred number associated with this
site we got price line customer service. It was price line that had the
information and called the hotel.  The
hotel said the price line seemed to be the parent company.
