I had to give a star to review, if I had an option, it would be no starsPer phone conversation with an ADT representation, the installer will go over a risk assessment, agree on a program, and then install the systemThe installed did none of those and disassembled our current non-functioning system and installed the systemAfter installing proceeds to tell us that the monthly fee is not $a month but $a monthWe did not agree to that month price and told them we didn't want the system installedThe installer took the system out and left our current monitor device in pieces on our counter and proceeds to tell my wife that he its not his place to re-install that deviceHe should of never took it down to begin withJust a plan to get in your house by stating one fee and turn around and charge moreVery upset with ADT and the installed they sent out, unprofessional and discourteous

PSA: highly recommend against using ADT or their “third party company” DefendersWe had services installed on February 3rdWe called February 5th after our card was charged (without our consent) to find out whyWe were told it was due to prorated billing and that we agreed to be enrolled in auto paymentWrongWe never consented to auto payments nor were we told about pro rated billingWe requested services be canceled and our pro rated amount that they took out without our knowledge and consent be refunded back to original form of the paymentThey restated this, saying they were confirming that’s what we wantedWe agreedWe also made it very clear we still wanted services to be canceled effective immediately (you only have days from start of services to cancel) They decided to not inform us we needed to turn in a letter telling them we wanted to cancel and continued our servicesWe called againThey stated we accepted their offer of being refunded the pro rated amount and

When I called to set up service the package I got installed was NOT what I agreed toI have not even once activated the alarmI called ADT the next morning and they told me I had to call defender'sWich I didI have left messages and have not been able to get a single human bein to call me backI finally talk to someone today, 2/01/and they said oh I am sorry you are now past your daysI have left messages telling theM NOT to take any more money off my cardAnd they did anyway
this company is horrible I just want my 160$ refunded and be done with them

I purchased a new security system with ADT (after high pressure sales) I had been with *** for over a decade and paid $per month ADT (Defenders) agreed to give me a much bigger system for only $more ($27.99) I agreed (and there is proof of this because they use a 3rd party phone verification which recorded what I agreed to pay) They came and tried to upsell me after telling me that they didn't have what I had agreed to I declined the service so they called their home office and got me the equipment I originally agreed to They installed my new system and had me sign an electronic form (which I thought only showed that they had installed the system) I received my first bill and it was DOUBLE In addition, they promised me an electronic thermostat as part of the package and they never installed it I called ADT (corporate) who told me that the fault lied with Defenders I called American Express and supplied proof of material misrepresentations, and they r

Extremely misleadingThey are not the same company as ADT, they charge outrageous installation fees and use outdated and overpriced equipment

I had a system installed in early September and I have not recieved my $gift card I have called numerous times and have waited on hold as long as minutesBefore hangin up I sent an e-mail about two months ago to provide the promo code and I have never received a response
The technician asked at the time of the install whether I had the $promo I did not, but it was in my mailbox the next time I checked my mail *** If that was the promo that was being offered, it would have been easier to just honor it at the time instead of making me call and e-mail to try to get the promotion
ADT is not off to a good start I have had to remove my credit card form the profile because they have changed me twice without permission The second charge, they charged me for two months even though I had paid through September Also the technician left the ADT panel apart with batteries or other parts left in the storage area ADT has wasted a lot of tim

This company's trustworthiness is an absolute While in the middle of inquiring about service and asking questions, the rep put his manager on the line (escalates the call for a better deal) the manager does a credit check w/o my permission, then lies and says it was a soft inquiryWell, my credit score drops ptsI called to complain, Shannon A*** fails to acknowledge the portion of the conversation whereas the rep lies about the inquiry that would not affect my creditThis was a costly lesson, that would not have happened with a reputable company Stay Away!!!

I was given an initial amount of a $for ADT to come out and assess security in my home I explicitly told him exactly what I wanted upon arrival It was explain to me About the security I tell them I just wanted the basic with my door lock and the doorbell camera The technician proceeded to install everything except what I asked for and then said it would be in additional $that the credit that was given to me for that did not count I was pressured into keeping what was installed In what was Not hostile but in voluntarily told At which point the following morning I called to cancel and found out that I had been charged an additional $which I did not authorize a total of $ $was taken from my account and there is one charge to ADT and then other charges defenders they never identified themselves as authorized distributors for ADT in fact they were wearing ADT gear and claim to be ADT themselves I then had a second person call me and try to convince me to not remove

I had the worst experience dealing with this companyI signed up with an authorized dealer for ADT home security systemAfter approximately month, I received a letter from Defenders that they were taking over the billing from ADT because tAD didn't want our small contractI had no idea that was even possibleI did my do diligence and went on *** to see what their reviews wereNeedless to say I was horrified by what their customers wrote I called to let them I did not want them doing my billingThey directed me to ADT and ADT sent me back to DefendersNowhere in my contract does it state that this could happenI spoke to ADT corporate and was given back to DefendersAs it turned out I was treated horriblyI was not billed againhey never charged me and took my alarm offline from ADT, Yet two months later I received a collection letter from Defenders through their attorney even though they cancelled my alarm two months priorPlease do your homework on this company before you make a decision going forward Read their abysmal customer reviews

I contacted adt for an alarm install - they sent out this subcontractor- they damaged my home, and installed equipment that would not work with my system after months ADT sent their own technician took out their subs equipment and replaced with old equipment and corrected the damage they did to my system - they owe me all monies paid and they have placed me in collection for equipment that I do not have - that in fact ADT took

The initial phone representative was informative and politeThe technician that came to our home was on time, knowledgeable, and polite He cleaned up thoroughly and worked quicklyAfter installation he explained how to operate the system and helped us set up the appThe system definitely gives us peace of mind

I received a flier in the mail from ADT, Protect Your Home It was a "special" deal For $27.99/month and $for installation, you could receive pieces of security equipment plus the system itself I had a security system with *** ***, but this seemed like a deal too good to pass up
I called them, and the customer service woman told me that with their satellite system, it would be 48.99/month, I agreed for the technician to come and explain the system and potentially install it
He came, was polite, and I agreed to the install However, he explained that since some of my sensors were already in my house, at entry ways, I would only be allotted additional pieces of equipment, that after I allowed him to secure the windows on the first floor and the entry ways Already the price had gone up from the "99.00," I thought I would pay
He had me sign off on over $worth of equipment, they wanted me to buy, and we agreed to $over four payment perio

I got the ADT home security thinking I am dealing with ADT directly but I cancelled the account within days once I learned that my entire account is dealt by DefendersAs per the notice of cancellation, I am allowed to cancel within days and the company is not supposed to charge me anythingHowever, when I was going through my bank statements, I learnt that ADT / Defenders are charging me illegally for monthly expenses for the past several monthsI want my full refund immediately and a written confirmation that my account and all my details are removed from their systems permanentlyDefenders and ADT are the worst companies to deal with

I have been waiting for $refund for months (since Oct13, 2016) from Ryan (mobile phone: ***) at Protect Your Home, authorized dealer of ADTHe communicated with me seven times (between Oct- Dec9, 2016) that it's "processing and can take up to days." I have saved all text messages, as I soon suspected I was being strung alongThis has gone on way too long, and I am extremely frustrated and very dissatisfied with this customer service experience

Do not use this companyI have had to have them come out times since May There is no communication between the call center and the installersThey don't explain what they are doing to your houseI built a new house and they punched a hole in the dry wall and didn't even tell me they had to do that to put the new keypad upThey tell you that you get a dollar equipment upgrades but they charge you dollars for a dollar key fobThey also manage to up charge you on everythingWe were supposed to have ADT pulse and then when they got here that is an extra dollarsYou need the network for that and that is another dollarsNothing is clear over the phoneThey also put me down for a year contract! Well as soon as that contract is done I am DONEIf you want to cancel your contract it is going to be dollars by the wayThe other scam is they offer you a dollar gift card for signing up but you have to pay for shipping and buy a money order so my gift card is really $I also should take off the postage I had to pay to mail the certificate in to get my gift cardThey also owe me a refund on my credit cardThat could take up to a monthHopefully I make it through this years

I’m a couple of weeks away from closing on a home and inquired about the home security service online on 1-17-The sales rep covered information about the company and what was covered in the promotion that I responded toAfter that, he stated that to make sure I qualify for the promotion he would need to run my creditI asked him was it a hard inquiry or soft inquiry as I didn’t need my credit ran while under contract He proceeded to tell me how there wasn’t really a such thing as hard or soft inquiry and that it would have minimal effects on my credit and how it’s through one bureauI then specifically ask him was it going to impact and he said noHe said he didn’t even need the full ssn that I could provide just the last I gave him the last I found out later that day through an alert I have setup for my credit that it was indeed a hard inquiry and contacted the company requesting a supervisorI was told that this matter is something their loyalty dept handles and t

I have two issues to file in this complain form:
1st, I signed a contract with Protect Your Home, an ADT home security dealer on Sep, for the monthly rate of $36.99/month, But I been charged for $49/month for three month alreadyI called their service number for many many times but no body was able to correct the mistake yetI also tried to visit the local office at August Rd suite 300, There is no such company located in that address
2nd, There was once I noticed that when I open my window, the equipment did not make the "chirp" sound as it usually do, so I called Protect Your Home service number and asked them to fix it for me, but nobody call me back in daysIt seems that they do not care about their customer after they pick the money

I called in and signed up for ADT services The representative on the line provided timely information, account details, and specifics on installation dates and times, and I had a ADT Protect Your Home representative come out to my house about a week later
The representative showed up at approximately 8:15am that morning and begin the installation process About halfway through he informed me that I was required to receive to have additional sensors that would cost me approximately $that could be paid out over the course of months with the 1st payment being the day of installation
I gave my authorization, and the gentleman proceeded to spend the next minutes on his cell phone with his girlfriend Around 11:00am I told him to get out of my house, so I can go to work and he still had sensors a wireless device, an additional alarms to install

Rather than rehash what others have said about agressive sales tactics, poor equipment, service (noting that on or more trips technicians were honest about stating the particular equipment, e.gwindow sensor and smoke detector, they've had many problems with) and customer service....have a very important fact to add They never discussed contract terms, presented a contract for signature, any details, OR even mailed a copy for signature, or at least my files Instead that now I'm getting good help from ADP Corporate, after phone sessions totaling over hours! including a joint call with Defender, while attempting to cancel contract they want me to pay close to $for to terminate, I've learned they are fraudulent Reporting to local and state authorities ADP supplied me the Defender contract copy, again that was never presented to me or discussed in any detail While yes, certainly expected a term of committment for the deal which was still overpiced and monthly fee escalated without noticeBut that's on the assumption it would work, we could get adequated service A contract is not wayMIndblowing that they actually forged my initials and signature That's fraud from your local "security" company!
