Around the beginning of November I received a ADT Former Customer OfferI had reply by November 13, 2015, which I didI spoke to a gentleman name Norlan Ref*We discussed installing a security system to my homeI told him the most important thing for me was to have outside cameraI already had because I had Xfinity (Comcast}He said no problem the cost was $a monthSo we set up appointment for December 2, I would like to say that no where on these advertisement was anything say anything about Defenders Protect Your HomeAs far as I knew I was dealing with ADTNow all I have been getting is the run around tell me that defender does not install out side camera only insideWhich when the tech, came out on December told me that they could not finish installing the system because they where down loading and they could not get the system up in running so they would make another appointment to finishThe techtried to make appointment for me before the left

When I signed up for the alarm system I was quoted a price When they came to install it, they did a bait and switch for a upgrade model in which they installed without telling me The price was three times what was quoted for the monthly service I didn't know that this was the case until a day later and I happen to print out an email This company that Provides ADT is horrible and not ethical They pray on people hoping they don't read or print out the contract until it is too late to cancel a month contract They also make you pay up front a $fee before anyone comes out, which was told would be taken off my bill I know now that was not the case I was told that I would not get this money back

Spoke with them by phoneWas told they would take over all my existing equipment, and cover all windows as well as adding two smoke detectors at no costThis included my door lock and thermostatThe quoted me a month for monitoring and told me I would receive an additional credit for equipment
Called two days later as I did not receive the email confirmation, that detailed our upcoming transaction, was told they don’t send things out in writing (red flag #1)Fast forward to install date

Professional! Knowledgeable and personable installer underestimated time necessary to complete installation

I called several security companies to discuss a new security System for my home The morning of 10/22/18, A company called Defenders Inc, who I thought was ADT returned my call At no time during the initial phone call, did I think they were anyone other than ADT The first gentleman I spoke with shared what they had to offer and said that he could set up a “consultation” that same day Then the gentleman (Terrance) asked for my Social security Number I shared that I did not want my credit pulled He said it would not be a hard pull and it would only stay on my credit days I told him I had excellent credit and I kept it that way by knowing the credit rules I told hiIt would be on my file for years He then said he would have me speak with his supervisor His supervisor, Crystal (***) came to the phone and began offering more discounts She offered a Columbus Day special and then asked for my SSN Again I told her I did not want my credit pulled and did not give

I thought I contracted with ADTNo one said anything about Defenders until the contract was signed and I had to callThe video door bell has never worked, They replaced it once with the promise to bring a new and improved one outI was also promised a 20% discount on the equipment after I ask them to come and remove their productI have called numerous times to be treated unfairly as if I were trying to get something for freeI have been promised call backs which never happenedI have been told so many different lies and the system has only been installed since 8/3/It seems to be a misrepresentationThey appear at your door without calling first with all these promises until they think the deadline has passed This is a terrible practiceThey also said the credit check would not be a hard check as they had a contract with EquaifaxThat was a lie!! It did count as a hard check which I do not appreciate

I was very impressed on the knowledge of security by the person that installed our home protection program Hats off to ADT

In response to an ad that appeared to be from ADT I had security equipment put in my home in January of The installer also represented himself as ADT He told me he could replace my existing equipment The existing equipment was not replaced and the company did not follow through with removing it Furthermore the ADT repairmen who have come to fix it twice informed me that it was subpar compared to the equipment that was already in place and in fact we should have additional fire alarms I have tried to work out this issue of advertising and misrepresentation since January with both The Defenders and ADT but neither company will take responsibility This use of a subcontractor without full disclosure should be prohibited

I contacted adt corporate to get a quote for a new systemthey said free system plus ring doorbell camera for $a monthtoo expensiveso I get a flyer in mail for defenders adt repfor free system $gift card and $a monthI call to confirm and the rep leads me to believe I can get that deal even without a lan linetech comes for installation and says no youre not eligible she should have never said thatmy wife was the only one home at the time of install and felt pressured to sign paperwork even at the higher rate since he was already therethe next business day I call to complain and they talk me out of cancellingI confirm my right to cancel was still available for one more business dayI decide I want to cancel with defenders and sign with adt corp for original deal the next day I call to cancel and now they tell me for the first time a form needs to be mailed out or faxed by the end of the business day or I would get a penalty to cancelI ask for a supervisor

The installation took several hours, but we did cover all entries plus motion, so we were satisfiedOur installer did a fine job of explaining things and setting the system up

I called this company to activate the security system that was already working previously with ADT in a house that we bought, their representative came and offered to install a total new system with a cost about &9K, we said not about that, we just wanted to activate the current alarm system with their security service, this guy disconnected all sensors and installed new few ones but wireless, he also disconnected all three panels that we had to install a new one in the middle of nowhere by open a hole in our wallIt was a total mess, they did everything that we didn't ask and nothing about we requestedAfter several calls with customer services, we realized that the monthly fee is more that we agree withWe decided to cancel the services and asked them to re-install everything that they disconnected and repair the wall that we never authorized to made for a panel that it was what we neededI had to call American Express to block any chargers from that company since they started to charge me for monthly fee for a service that we canceled and also that fee was not what we agreeTHANKS America Express for that!
I asked them to repaired the wall with the hole that the made, and after asking me for two quotations from different companies and sending all documentation requested, they said that they cannot do the repair because I am not longer their customerThis was something that they already knew, but they asked me to get quotes when they also knew that it is not going to be approved
I just wanted to share my very frustrate and bad experience with that company, I had to hire another company to repair the wall and also repair the damage that they made in my panels and sensors

My tech Valerie was great - very informative and thoroughShe explained all me services throughout the install and was very knowledgeableI was very comfortable with her in my home
