The company has been at my residence in San Clemente, CA, four times to first install an ADT security system, and subsequently unsuccessfully to fix problems with their installation of this security system They have made two additional appointments that were not kept, and I am currently awaiting another service representative to come This CA residence is my second home which I visit at least twice a month The fact that I am absent for most of the time makes this security system extremely important When I am in CA I have other things I need to do, and this company not showing up as scheduled has significantly impacted other matters that I need to attend to It has also led to much frustration, time on the phone dealing with this situation, and stress due to their seeming attitude of indifference

In June of I had ADT home alarm system installed in my home The installer was also a high pressure salesman He put things in my home I told him I did not need or want He told me to keep them and see how I liked them The installation process took days (total hours) I called the company (ADT) and the same person came out to remove the items I told him I did hot want He told me I would be getting a credit adjustment
Once he took away those items I agreed to pay a month ADT began sending me bills for a month I paid a few bills but in August ADT called me and said they did not have a signed contract from me They sent me a contract with per month and I told them I refused to sign this
There is not enough room here to give all the details of this now on-going month issue

bought adt system in january permit came may16,why so long fire marshal said shoud have been done before I payed for the system in january

Per the attached flyer, this is what Protect Your Home Defender mailed to consumers The flyer misleads us to believe that they are, in fact, ADTThe flyer also misleads us to think that the price will be what is advertised as $27.99/month I called the number and spoke to a very nice sales guy He scheduled my apt for the next available timeHe quoted me the same amount, $27.99/month I had to pay $on the same day as the phone call, for installation, which I did On the day of the apt, the installer arrives with the equipment and in addition, he works sales scam to say that you need additional equipment because there is not a landlineTypically, most homes do not have landlines and I explained that to the sales person with the initial callThe installer simply stated that if I did not take the extra equipment at the higher price of $52.99/month that he could not install anything! I would have been left with no securityInstead of an hour of time spent with installing, as

The technician was great very mannerly extremely knowledgeable with all questions about equipment and advice and or recommendations on equipment needed for our home, one suggestion going forward is technicians should be able to turn choices for all equipment on (outside siren) so customers can hear how loud it may or may not beWe definitely thought the siren would be much louderAll in all the experience was very very goodWould recommend for sure

First and foremost, when I called this company I asked specifically were they ADT CORPORATE because I did NOT want to deal with an authorized dealer of any kindI had just dealt with one (and going into that is irrelevant) However, I expressed my interest in the offer the authorized retailer was givingTheir number came up under Google as ADT Corporate which is why I thought I was in good handsNOPE! Went over the entire package that was previously offered and the gentleman over the phone said that would not be a problem, they could do that for me no problemTwo days later their installation tech came to my home wearing an ADT shirt (it did NOT specify "authorized agent/dealer/provider/retailer), I again asked was he with corporateThat man stood in my home and assured me that he wasHe did a walk through of our home, and handed us an estimate for $5,000; of which I rejected and I shared the flyer with the introductory offer that claimed we could not only get an indoor camera, ou

I purchased a security system for my elderly parents which was installed days ago I was advised last night that my parents cannot use the system (due to their age and lack of being able to cope with the security system itself) When I called this morning to cancel, I was advised that I would have to pay 65% of the contract price ($650) They failed in any way to take into account that the system was installed a mere days ago The first customer service representative was nice and sympathetic, but her supervisor, Kelly, was rude, demanding, and refused to allow me to speak with her supervisor (claiming that both of her immediate supervisors were in Cancun)

It’s been a long time since I have felt connedThis company banks on consumers that believe they are calling Adt for serviceThey pull the bait in switch with there estimate over the phone vs what they try to charge you after they start installing on-site

ADT was installed in my home in NovemberAfter purchasing a $security system, the tech that installed the security system did not know what the was doingThe security system never worked at allEach day between the hours of 2am -5am,the security system will go off own its ownEach day I would call the ADT support line and the company would have me call a company by the name of DefenderWhich is the 3rd party company that actually sales and service the ADT equipmentUpon calling ADT, they keep telling me that the system has a wiring issue and ADT could not monitor my systemBy the time that defender opens, I would be at workI would make an appointment for defender to come outAnd the company would send the same tech out that installed the systemThat is if the tech actually shows upBecause on two different occassionsThe tech never called and never showed upWhen he would show up, he would stay for about minutes and say the security system is fineThe tech then stated that the company policy is for us to call the tech directly to get faster serviceBecause the techs were also customer service reps as wellIn doing so, each time I called the tech directly as instructedThe company stated that their is no such policy in placeThey argued that I never placEach day on my lunch break, I would have to spend it arguing with ADT and Defender to fix the security systemAt this point, I would like for the company to come and get their equipment that has never worked and refund me ALL money spent with the companyThe company is a big rip-offThey keep telling me that If they get the equipmentI will still be responsible for the remaining year contractWhich will ultimately damage my creditI now have a system that do not work and have to pay for itThe earliest that ADT stated that they can send out a ADT technician and not a Defender technician is business days from nowIn which I am stuck paying for a system that does not work at all

ADT is just going down with this Authorized Dealer
1st - Incorrect Installation of the unit
2nd - System generated Faulty alarm to emergency services next day
3rd - Multiple visits by Technician and still system faulty (all liars)
4th - Constant incorrect billing (still fighting for incorrect Billing)
ADT is also equally responsible for it, as they say that they really dont have any control on billing or the authorized dealer
This is the worst security companyCurrently I am disputing charges using my bank now

I purchased a security system in June I was called by Defenders, ADT Protect your home or who ever they are this week I had to request a bill the first bill was half a month, plus, one whole month plus one month in advanced which was supposedly for august , I received an invoice in July, after I demanded a bill showing me what I owe, on August 9th I received a bill with an ending date of July 8th I paid the bill yesterday by money order thru the mail, I was called today by Michael a collector I asked why he was calling to my understanding my next payment was due September 1, , he became very rude he said a computer automatically calls every monthI explained that my account was current according to the bill no past due was entered I have yet to be sent a proper billing statement such a Amount owed, next due date last payment received as of June when I got the service I still don't have that information they pretended that they were ADT come to find out th

First, I live in California, but am filing against the company's HQ because I cannot discern who I am speaking with and where they are when I call the numberI never visited a location and my complaint is with their billing and collection practice, which I believe is centralized and thus handled by a specific location
As mentioned, the complaint is with their billing/collection practices Defenders is billing me a fee for purchasing an alarm permitThere are issues with this1) I never signed anything authorizing them to do this2) I did not need another permit as I had recently paid for a permit when I had a different alarm system installedIn LA City, you do not need a new permit when you change alarm companies3) Defenders has not produced any proof of that they purchased a permit for meWhen I emailed LA City, they confirmed that the only permit on file for my address is the one I paid for weeks before my ADT system was installed 4) I never even received a bill, jus

I agreed to have Defenders come to my house and install an ADT Security system to replace our previous ADT systemThey came out and gave wild quotes without asking us what we were really looking forWe eventually agreed on an install and he began the processHe ran all new wiring which put more holes in our walls without using any of the previous hardware, like we were promised on the phoneIn the end he left without explaining anythingWe felt uneasy about the process as soon as he left, especially since he arrived in his personal car and not in a professional vanwe felt like we were talked into stuff that we didn't want and were extremely underwhelmed by the equipment, ieit seemed cheaply made and old fashionedWe made the decision to cancelWe faxed the cancellation notice days later, twiceWe then got a bill from ADT, so we called and confirmed they received the cancellation They then set up the time to collect the equipmentWe accepted the first time that was offe

In July , my ADT system by Defenders was set up in my apartment homeIn February I had an attempted burglary at my homeThe alarm was never received by actual ADTAfter service calls to both ADT and DefendersIt was determined that although my monthly tests were working that the actual alert alarms were not being received at ADTA defenders technician came to my home February 10th and determined that my system was not properly set up in July and that the original installation was faultyA particular receiver number code (daca?) was left empty at the time of programming causing my system to truly not be fully functional since July
I have an open case since February 10th but have not yet heard back from the loyalty customer service department and although I was told I would receive a call back within business week I have not yet heard from them and when I called to check I was told that they have thousands of complaints daily and that they have not had an analyst

I am so displeased with the service I received through Defenders Protect Your HomeFirst, I thought I was signing a legal contract for a certain price which was signed by myself and the technician, hours later I saw a different amount was charged to my cardMy roommate called Protect Your Home's customer service to inquire about the high price, the women who claimed her name was Payton spoke openly about my account to someone who is not listed on the account without my permission/acknowledgmentI think that is a huge invasion of privacy, and quite honestly I am afraid for my information going forwardOnce I was aware my account was spoke of I called what I found online as the corporate number, the women on the phone stated the higher price was protocol until ADT "accepted my contract" at my quoted price, however no one explained that to me during my install processI find that very misleading, fraudulent that no one explained I would be charged a different amount then I signed forI then wanted to speak to a supervisor about the matter so she transferred me to someones voicemail and I left my contact information and problems/concerns via the voicemail and it has been three business days and I have not received any responseI am very upset and will never use this company again, nor recommend it to anyoneI wish my business was more valued and the customer service made me feel like I was heard, this is a poor way to run businessNo one reached out to me to help or calm my un-nerving feelingsVery displeased and will not be back

I called to check price and see what they could do to use the existing system I called who I thought was ADT but turned out to be these guysThe representatives arrived dressed in an ADT shirt and had an ADT ID card I was told my card would not be charged unless I signed with the representative coming to my home I was assured of this several times They are not ADTI did not like the representatives HIGH PRESSURE sale pitch They charged my card anyway This is fraud

went to www.official.adt.com and saw the special of $per month with over $in security equipment and over $of extra things that they provideIt stated: Help Protect Your Home for only $and if you're not happy within the 1st months, we will refund your money for the installation plus the monitoring fees and any fees associated with the accountWe called to confirm that it came with all the bells and whistles like the application, cameras and the touch pad was the one in the pictureThe girl stated that everything was correct and made the appointment for the guy to do the installation By the way, the call was recorded. The guy comes out and the system looks like it's from before the computer was inventedMy husband shows the guy thats not what we orderedThe guy calls the supervisor in from of us and assures us that he'll come back to exchange it but in the meantime we need protectionIf we're not happy, we can cancel When the guy didn't come back, we r

Salesperson TJ C*** quoted a monthly monitoring fee to my husband and I He stated that his boss approved the $monthly monitoring fee for cellular service We agreed upon the price The first billing statement arrived stating the monthly fee was $ I called the office and was told there was nothing they could do When the ADT representative called TJ on a 3-way call, he would not answer and did not return my call after having left my number and stating the issue at hand I cancelled the service, had the equipment removed from my home by an ADT technician, and yet I continue to receive bills asking for payment

I am in shock that I have just experienced what everyone else has below in the commentsIt is a bait and switch scamThis is not ADT, but a "dealer" of which I was not aware when I allowed this company through my doorADT does not stand by the "month-satisfaction guaranteeThey have told me that I need to cancel through Defenders (after only days of service in which the install was incomplete and what was installed did not function after hours)Defenders refused to let me cancel because of the 3-day cancel policy, even though the technician assured us this was not the case the day he installedThe installation tech stated that he would finish the install the next week because he didn't have all the components in his truckHe never returned and thus delayed our ability to cancel the services within the allowed window of time
Disgusting, unethical business practices by both ADT and Defenders

Back in November I signed up for ADT I was told I had 3days to change my mind so the next day I called and asked for everything to be taken away because for one the consultant didn’t explain the prices clearly or I wouldve let him walk away So U I was told ok well send someone out so about days later someone finally comes and unfortunately I wasn’t home but my husband had made it home from a dsployment and they told him they were coming to take away SOME equipmentThats not what I wanted so I called back the next day after work and then was told I have missed my deadline to have the service canceled.so at this point I tried to explain and noone listenedSo I requested that my bill be lowered yo the dealSo they sent out paperwork about a week later only for it to say So I call back again and they told me I had to sign and send back in in order for it to be correctedSo I didWaiting almost a month I called back and they acted like I never requested it ! So they se
