Contacted business on 11/18/to inquire about the services Was only interested in advertised $service planI Was led to believe the service could be provided then rep asked for name & DOB I needed to know why this was necessary for an inquiry I did not need feel comfortable with the request and decided to call back next day Call on 11/19/again stated I wanted the $package informed rep I did not have a landline, gave the ref# from previous day with offer, scheduled appt for 11/20/ Tech sched -8am to install, after drilling holes in wall, then he explains service and the work order after I stated again I only wanted $deal and there was no landlineI kept asking where is the contract I have not signed anything, I was told we are only gonna charge you $today, what's your charge card #, just touch his tablet authorizing payment Still no contract mins after he leaves, an email appears with my signature and intials on a contract that I ne
The biggest problem with this company is that they don't disclose that they are an authorized dealer for ADT and not the real deal They answer the phone as ADT and not as DEFENDERS so you have no way of checking their reviews, credentials, of Revdex.com standing I felt strong-armed into getting the system by his "installer" Rudy ***, while all the time I thought I was dealing with ADT itself He wanted me to sign blank documents on his iPad claiming he could not print them or modify them; however, he was able to produce a paper contract with the correct amount for monitoring that we had agreed on and not the amount on his iPad
I asked that all papers signed and/or initialled by me on the iPad be emailed to me and lo and behold, there were blank papers with "my initials." The next day they charge my credit card account for a strange amount and the first monthly charge came in at a higher amount Defenders is not an ethical company and ADT should cancel their contract with them They give ADT a bad name
I fix and flip homes At times, I need the alarm service anywhere from 3-months depending on the property This was explained in detail to ADT Defenders, and they assured me that given the volume of business involved, I would be able to cancel or suspend service in the homes I own without incurring any penalties or fines Now, they are asking me to pay the balance on their year coerced contract
I agreed to have Defenders come to my house and install an ADT Security system to replace our previous ADT systemThey came out and gave wild quotes without asking us what we were really looking forWe eventually agreed on an install and he began the processHe ran all new wiring which put more holes in our walls without using any of the previous hardware, like we were promised on the phoneIn the end he left without explaining anythingWe felt uneasy about the process as soon as he left, especially since he arrived in his personal car and not in a professional vanwe felt like we were talked into stuff that we didn't want and were extremely underwhelmed by the equipment, ieit seemed cheaply made and old fashionedWe made the decision to cancelWe faxed the cancellation notice days later, twiceWe then got a bill from ADT, so we called and confirmed they received the cancellation They then set up the time to collect the equipmentWe accepted the first time that was offe
In July , my ADT system by Defenders was set up in my apartment homeIn February I had an attempted burglary at my homeThe alarm was never received by actual ADTAfter service calls to both ADT and DefendersIt was determined that although my monthly tests were working that the actual alert alarms were not being received at ADTA defenders technician came to my home February 10th and determined that my system was not properly set up in July and that the original installation was faultyA particular receiver number code (daca?) was left empty at the time of programming causing my system to truly not be fully functional since July
I have an open case since February 10th but have not yet heard back from the loyalty customer service department and although I was told I would receive a call back within business week I have not yet heard from them and when I called to check I was told that they have thousands of complaints daily and that they have not had an analyst
Salesperson TJ C*** quoted a monthly monitoring fee to my husband and I He stated that his boss approved the $monthly monitoring fee for cellular service We agreed upon the price The first billing statement arrived stating the monthly fee was $ I called the office and was told there was nothing they could do When the ADT representative called TJ on a 3-way call, he would not answer and did not return my call after having left my number and stating the issue at hand I cancelled the service, had the equipment removed from my home by an ADT technician, and yet I continue to receive bills asking for payment
I've twice called and requested that this business remove me from their promotional mailing list - I've never been a customer, nor am I interested in their servicesI recently received another promotional mailing, so apparently my requests have been disregardedStop sending your junk mail to my home
Beware of working with Protect Your HomeThey are NOT ADTWe thought we were getting security equipment and monitoring from ADTPaid good money for installation and monitoring and are not satisfied with productCome to find out Protect Your Home is not ADT, but represents itself as ADT in promotional materialsWe are trying to get a refund and stop a three year contractA bit of a "Bait and switch" feel to this Don't use this companyHow do they have an A+ rating with 92% negative customer review percentage? Next stop MassAttorney General and investigative journalist
Technician was on time and very knowledgeable about ADT products as well how to make my home more secureSuccessful!
HelloI have been going through a domestic violence issueI decided to get alarm systemI called adt number and I didn't know it wasn't adt but an authorized providerI told of my situation and that I wanted cameras outside to be able to monitor the doors.I was told that they were going to hook me upThe people on the phone said that they were going to charge me only payment for the first monthThey basically gave me the equipment and offered me a gift cardOne rep said she understood my situation and had been through something similarThe next day the installer shows upAfter two hours of installing the door monitor and three window bells as well as two door dingers I asked if he was installing the camera that day alsoHe said they didn't have camera not until next monthAnd at that point I could add as many as I liked for ten a month more per cameraPlz note the whole point of having this installed in my house was so I could see if there was trouble .today I was t
Purchased ADT in May for an apartment while I was house hunting, knowing I wouldn’t be there but a yearMy father and I were told “no problem” the contract was for one year, repeatedlyThe system worked well for about months, and then I had issues with my sensors falling off and being set off because they were not placed properlyThe Cincinnati police department was notified twice of the alarm while I was out of the country, and arrived to find a alarmI received an $bill for them to show up, nothing was ever mentioned while purchasing the product that there may be additional feesLuckily I did not have to pay this feeAt the time the sensors fell off, I contacted ADT who told me that Defender serviced the account and forwarded me to a number that linked back to ADTAfter being incorrectly transferred several times Defender said to buy an adhesive and try thatI did, which also did not workI called defender several times after that who said it was ADTs issue
went to www.official.adt.com and saw the special of $per month with over $in security equipment and over $of extra things that they provideIt stated: Help Protect Your Home for only $and if you're not happy within the 1st months, we will refund your money for the installation plus the monitoring fees and any fees associated with the accountWe called to confirm that it came with all the bells and whistles like the application, cameras and the touch pad was the one in the pictureThe girl stated that everything was correct and made the appointment for the guy to do the installation By the way, the call was recorded. The guy comes out and the system looks like it's from before the computer was inventedMy husband shows the guy thats not what we orderedThe guy calls the supervisor in from of us and assures us that he'll come back to exchange it but in the meantime we need protectionIf we're not happy, we can cancel When the guy didn't come back, we r
I called to check price and see what they could do to use the existing system I called who I thought was ADT but turned out to be these guysThe representatives arrived dressed in an ADT shirt and had an ADT ID card I was told my card would not be charged unless I signed with the representative coming to my home I was assured of this several times They are not ADTI did not like the representatives HIGH PRESSURE sale pitch They charged my card anyway This is fraud
I feel that I was misled/manipulated by the company in two ways
(1) I contacted this company to inquire about an offer to reactivate service at a lower price, around $per month The offer was agreed to over the phone and an appointment was set up At no time during the call was I told that this offer would not be honored if I did not have a landline connection When the installer arrived, I was told the monthly rate would go up to over $per month because it had to be over a cellular connection Had I known this in advance I would never have agreed to such a rate I do not feel this is an ethical business tactic An important detail that would make such a big difference in rate should have been revealed to me before I agreed to their offer, was charged $and set up an appointment
(2) In addition, during my initial phone call, I was told the $fee would be refunded to me in the form of a gift card At no point during this initial call was I i
I purchased a security system in June I was called by Defenders, ADT Protect your home or who ever they are this week I had to request a bill the first bill was half a month, plus, one whole month plus one month in advanced which was supposedly for august , I received an invoice in July, after I demanded a bill showing me what I owe, on August 9th I received a bill with an ending date of July 8th I paid the bill yesterday by money order thru the mail, I was called today by Michael a collector I asked why he was calling to my understanding my next payment was due September 1, , he became very rude he said a computer automatically calls every monthI explained that my account was current according to the bill no past due was entered I have yet to be sent a proper billing statement such a Amount owed, next due date last payment received as of June when I got the service I still don't have that information they pretended that they were ADT come to find out th
I am in shock that I have just experienced what everyone else has below in the commentsIt is a bait and switch scamThis is not ADT, but a "dealer" of which I was not aware when I allowed this company through my doorADT does not stand by the "month-satisfaction guaranteeThey have told me that I need to cancel through Defenders (after only days of service in which the install was incomplete and what was installed did not function after hours)Defenders refused to let me cancel because of the 3-day cancel policy, even though the technician assured us this was not the case the day he installedThe installation tech stated that he would finish the install the next week because he didn't have all the components in his truckHe never returned and thus delayed our ability to cancel the services within the allowed window of time
Disgusting, unethical business practices by both ADT and Defenders
informationInformation contradictory to local ADT dealerAdded billing/contract information after cancellation
On the 26th of February we signed a contract/installed security system with the local ADT authorized dealer PHY (Monitoring Account #***) at our house in Venice Beach, CAA year later, February we moved that system to our new address in Westchester, Los AngelesOn March I cancelled the service since we were moving out of state and were not 100% pleased with the service provided by ADTWhen canceling the account, I was told there was a cancellation fee since we'd only had the system for yearAfter correcting the service representative she realized we had indeed had the system for years and she told me there was not going to be any cancellation feeToday, April 14th a representative from the local ADT dealer (a MsLaraysha Webb) called me to charge a USD fee for cancellationI explained the previous conversation and tha
I had contact with this company this evening and wanted to have someone come out just to go over equipment options and to give me a price The first guy I talked to wanted my social security number I would not give it to him He got someone who said he was the manager, he wanted my credit card number to pay $for them to come out and give me a price quote Just to get a price, they claim they need my social and credit cardOn their website it has the Revdex.com logo but when I put in the business on your website it says it is not Revdex.com accredited I just want to warn people about this company
I called ADT to get a home security system installed at a veteran home I operate under the nonprofit HOBS for combat veterans living with PTSD and TBI We are a 501ctax exempt, both federal and state I stated what I needed in a system, to include an outside camera and all doors and windows alarmed They took an immediate authorization on our credit card for $plus tax, while stating that would be changed, since we were tax exempt Then the service tech shows up and tells me to do what I want, will cost another $3,and instead of $39/month, it will now be $59/monthThey also promised that since I was a veteran I would get a $Visa Card from the technician Today they charged me another $20+ dollars and want another $plus tax on Monday, when they install the outside camera
