Publishers Partnership Services Reviews (%countItem)

I received a card in the mail for *** from Publishers Partnership Services. I thought a one year subscription to *** would be a good gift for my mother. I sent in a check along with the payment card. Two months later, I am still awaiting to receive the first issue. The check cleared my account about five weeks ago so I expected the issues to start arriving. When they didn't I looked up more information on Publishers Partnership Services and find that it is a scam outfit.

This is a scam . I was sent 2 bills /invoices for a magazine that I receive . Each invoice was for a different dollar amount that the actual subscription ,that had already been paid for the next term.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 16, 2019

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your email.

Per our mailings, as stated on the bottom in bold red lettering and with a thorough explanation on the back of the offer letter, what you are receiving are only offers and not bills (unless you have already subscribed to a magazine and made an installment payment).

With regards to the invoice number and dollar amounts, each offer is unique and can only be offered for a specific period of time. As with anything, magazine publications can change their pricing which results in an increased price. The invoice numbers associated with the new change in price reflect a new offer.

For your convenience, we have removed you from all future mailings.

Regards

Horrible business and when you call them they have NO ONE to talk to. This is a fraudulent business. NEVER renew a subscription for anything through them.

Dear Mary,

We are sorry to see your review and would like an opportunity to resolve your issue(s).

Please let us know what we can do to make it right.

Regards

This organization consistently sends what appears to be a bill stating "Notice of Continuation New Order Offer"...and "Make Check Payable to:" So, while it appears to be a bill, in little letters at the bottom of the paper it says it's just an offer. I have previously returned mail, and called them requesting they cease and desist sending me these notifications; however, they persist. These pieces of paper they send DO in fact look like a bill and to an unsuspecting individual, I'm sure they would just pay it. Additionally, they send these 'bills' monthly with a new magazine offer each time.

I’ve received invoices that are trying to collect money from me for renewal of magazine subscriptions, in some cases, subscriptions that I’ve cancelled. I would like you to stop this company from sending these mailers to me and anyone else! It’s a complete scam and they have nothing to do with the magazines they claim to request payment for. Please have them remove my name and address immediately. Thank you.

This company sends me unsolicited mail to a private address. I call the number listed inside the envelope only to get a recording - with NO option to stop mail or speak to an operator. Additionally, when I pressed zero to speak to an operator, I was hung up on. I don’t want any more mail sent to my home, but this company will not allow me that option.

Dear Anastasia,

We understand your frustration and apologize for any inconvenience.

I can confirm that you have been removed from any future mailings.

I received an invoice from them for $59.95 in April for *** magazine renewal for 2 years. I sent them a check for $29.98 for a one year renewal. In May I received an invoice for $29.97 for the second year due 6/12/18. Thinking about I realized that I had sent *** magazine a check in January while in ***. I called ***. *** in ***, *** and told them the situation. They looked at my account and I was fine. They also told me that they had never received any money from PPS(29.98). I had never contacted PPS for anything and not sure why I was contacted. Now have received 5 other notifications for several other magazines and received 3rd notification for 29. 97 due 7/24/20 for ***.. I'm not sure why I have been chosen to receive these notices and I want them stopped!!! To me this is false advertising and a scam. On my part I should have looked up my check sooner but had totally forgotten about renewing in January and this was 4 months later.

This company sent me a bill for another $24.97 I had already sent the first $24.98...I should have known then it was too much money. When I made out the check to send. I noticed the address(this time) was different from the old addess where I send my Y.....bill FL. and also the price was way off from what I usually paid.I keep great records of what magazines I buy so, I checked . Publisher Partnership Services is a fraud. They will not receive another penny from me and I hope no one else gets dooped! They love us old folks!!! Thank you Revdex.com for letting me see the light.

Dear Joanne,

Thank you for your email.

As with any business, we strive to offer the best possible prices but, sometimes may not be the lowest.

We are happy you received your magazine, as is the case with anyone who orders through us. Additionally, as you may have noticed on the original offer letter, it is not a bill as indicated through the bold red lettering on the bottom as well as the detailed description on the back of the offer.

I can assure you that no one gets "dooped" and that we love everyone irrespective of age!

May 2019 be a great year for you and your family.

For your convience, you have been removed from all future mailings.

Regards

We paid money to PPS thinking they would pass the funds on to the magazine of choice. However, they have nothing to do with any of the magazines. So, we asked for our refund in May and still have not heard from them (end of July) or received our refund. Very bad way to run a business. So spread the word about them! This is not a good deal. They don't even deserve 1 star.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 16, 2019

Dear Marta,

You are correct, we always fulfill our orders. We apologize that either our corporation or the magazine publication dropped the ball and that you never received your magazine.

As is stated on the initial offer, the best way to ensure a prompt refund is to mail us a letter with the specifics of your request.

I have taken the liberty of issuing you a full refund as of today (7/16/19) and for your convenience have removed you from all future mailings.

Regards

We received a bill for a magazine that we subscribe to, my husband paid it and and soon we received the actual bill for the same magazine saying that we needed to renew the subscription. My husband called customer service for *** Magazine and they said there was no record of the bill being paid, but they had heard from other *** that this had happened to them. We settled the bill with *** Magazine and decided to let this go. After paying this bogus bill, we have continued to receive bills for other magazines, sometimes 2 or 3 a day and this continues even though we have not sent any more money.

We have researched the complaint and are unable to locate an order under the information provided. If the order was placed under a different name / address please let us know. Also a copy of the cancelled check would be very helpful.

Thank you.

My mother receives *** magazine and she received what appeared to be an invoice for the magazine in the mail. Thinking it was from the company that publishes the magazine and that her subscription was up, she sent in a 2-year payment. Turns out her subscription was not up and this was an advertisement, even though it clearly states “invoice”, “amount due”, and an account number. Now we are receiving additional “invoices” from the company saying that only half of the payment was received and that more money is due, even though we paid in full by check.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 25, 2018

Thank you for your letter. We only have *** and *** in our database located at this address and no orders have been placed under either of these accounts. If there is another name we could research that would be helpful along with the cancelled check we are happy to refund your money.

Thank you.

I received a payment form in the mail for a magazine that I subscribe to. I mailed the amount to PPS that was on the form. I found out after contacting *** magazine they do not partner with this group, so therefore my payment was not going to be going toward my subscription. I tried to call the number PPS gives, 307-***, and there is not a way to contact a person using that number. It states any communication must be written. I then wrote my complaint about a refund, mailed it, and never heard back. I waited at least 30 days and repeated the process. It has been another 30 days and I still have not received a refund for the money I sent. The back of their order form states : All orders are fully cancelable and if your order has not yet been processed we will gladly refund 100% of your payment. My check was written on 4/13/18 and presented for payment on 4/20/18.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 25, 2018

Ms.,

We show that your payment of $79.97 check #*** was not honored at the bank. We will issue you a refund of your initial payment $79.98 on check *** less our cancellation fees. Your refund will be in the amount of $59.97.

Thank you.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

My mother is now in an assisted living facility, yet Publishers Partnership Services in Cheyenne Wyoming have been able to access her new address and continue to send her "bills" and "renewals" for (1) magazines she does not receive and (2) magazines she has not ordered. Because their "continuation" form looks like a bill, it has confused her as to whether or not to pay. What a shame that a company can scam our elderly. If we were not assisting her with her bills, mail, etc., she would have been drawn into paying this bill. How outrageous !

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 17, 2019

Dear Diane,

Thank you for your email.

We can certainly see why you would be frustrated at this stage in her life. Unless an individual has already placed an order for a subscription, what your mother is receiving is an offer. We do our best to indicate this by providing specific verbiage written in bold red lettering on the front and by providing a detailed description on the back of the offer clearly stating the purpose of the offer.

With regards to her address, chances are if she moved she filled out a change of address form and the offers were redirected per the official change of address.

We value all of our customers and want to ensure your satisfaction. If you would kindly mail us a letter with your mother's information, we would be happy to remove her from all future mailings.

Have a great day

I ordered *** Magazine this year. I sent two installments to cover a one year subscription. I received an additional installment notice from this company. It looked VERY MUCH like an invoice. On the side it says-- make check payable to PPS. On the bottom, in small print, it says "this is an offer, not a bill." What?? I called the main contact number at *** Magazine and they are aware of this scamming company but the operator I talked to would or could not tell me if anything was being done about this scam. I would not be surprised if hundreds, if not thousands of people have been sent extra installment notices by this fake company. This is possibly A HUGE SCAM! I tried calling PPS directly --there is an endless loop voice mail which says."We do not accept phone calls. " What?? Also, the return address on the envelope is different from where the envelope was mailed from-- *** . Additionally the envelope addressed to me is handwritten, in purple ink, obviously by a ***.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 25, 2018

Ms.,We are in receipt of your complaint to the Revdex.com. As was your experience with *** magazine, who is aware of our company and would not give you further information, we are not a scam contrary to your opinion. We are a third party agency for magazine subscriptions. As indicated and quoted by you on our mailing piece, it does state that this is not a bill. We have removed you from our mailing list and apologize if anything further crosses in the mail.Thank you.

I have received correspondence from this company that looks like an invoice. This is not the first time. I had cancelled this subscription so I became suspicious and looked the company up online. I saw the Revdex.com's dealings with this company. No matter what this company says it looks like an invoice.

I received a mailing from Publishers Partnership Services requesting a $39.95 payment on a 1-year subscription for Guideposts Magazine, with a first installment of $19.98. Considering that I have ALWAYS renewed my subscription directly through the Guideposts site and never paid more than $16.97 per year, clearly PPS is in the business of ripping people off. BEWARE! This company is not legitimate and do not be fooled by their scam! I have ignored their requests. They need to be shut down before anyone innocently falls into their trap.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 17, 2019

Dear Stephanie,

Thank you for your email.

We are proud to work directly with the vast majority of publishers and our partners to process magazine subscriptions for consumers throughout the US.

While we strive to remain as competitive as possible we always encourage consumers to verify that they are receiving the product they want for a value fair to them. Understandably, In some instances, the publisher may offer steep incentives to purchase directly from them in which case it can be difficult to compete.

We always fulfill our orders and are happy that you have been able to source the magazine you enjoy for a price that works well with you.

As a courtesy, we have removed you from all future mailings.

Regards

This company is totally misleading. I got a mailing which appeared to be a bill I owed for a magazine that I have not gotten in years. They claim that you can "save money" on subscriptions through them. The National Geographic magazine they wanted me to purchase is available for $19 for a year of print issues from the publisher, but Publishers Partnership Services wanted $59.95! WHY are they still in business?

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 17, 2019

Dear Sandy

Thank you for your email.

Understandably, In some instances, the publisher may offer steep incentives to purchase directly from them in which case it can be difficult to compete.

Unless you had previously subscribed to a magazine, many times this is just a renewal notice and/or an offer. We have done our best to indicate this with the bold red lettering on the bottom of the offer and by providing a detailed description of the offer on the back.

As a courtesy, we have removed you from all future mailings.

I received what I thought was an invoice shortly after signing up for a magazine. I sent a check for 69.98. A week later, I received an invoice from the actual magazine for 24.98! Of course when you call PPS they wont talk to you and instruct everyone to send any inquiries to a PO box, as they do not accept phone calls, emails, or credit cards. I suspect this is so you cannot dispute the charges. I have stopped payment on my check and notified my magazine who says they do not do business with PPS.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 17, 2019

Dear Kathy,

PPS works with many magazine publishers. We work directly with the publishers and our partners to process magazine subscriptions for consumers throughout the US. When we receive an order from a customer we transmit it to the publishers’ fulfillment centers.

While we strive to remain as competitive as possible there are some instances where the publisher of the magazine may offer incentives directly to the consumer in which it can be difficult to compete.

We would be happy to issue you a full refund should your check have cleared and as a convenience have removed your contact information from all future mailings.

Have a great day

This business is running a scam and pretending to offer magazine subscriptions.

I received an invoice from Publishers Partnership Services for a magazine subscription; it offered a renewal of a current subscription for $39.98 (to *** Magazine). I sent a check for this amount and it was cashed. About two weeks later, I received a further invoice for $39.97, stating that my renewal was actually for $79.95. I was surprised and I tried to call Publishers Partnership Services, but they have only a recorded message. I called the magazine directly and was told that Publishers Partnership Services does not handle subscriptions for this magazine; that the magazine will bill me directly and that my subscription did not need to be renewed until the end of this year.

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Jul 25, 2018

Ms.,We are in receipt of your complaint from the Revdex.com. Your order was for one year at a price of $79.95 as indicated on your order form.We will refund d you the amount you paid of $39.98 which is being sent out today on Wells Fargo Check#***.Thank you.

I received a notification to renew my *** magazine that I’ve been receiving since 2012 thinking that it was from *** magazine out of *** I sent a check for $60 which is the half price and told them to bill me into equal payments to keep my *** magazine subscription coming. Unfortunately it was from PPS *** magazine instead of just *** magazine which I didn’t know the difference and I haven’t received my *** magazine’s and I got a bill from the *** magazine company in *** and they said that they were going to have to cancel my subscription because they had not received my $60 come to find out I didn’t send it to them I sent it to *** PPS so I don’t know who they are they cashed my check but I haven’t received *** magazine and I’m receiving 4 or 5 other magazines that I never ordered.
