I was satisfied with their responseUnfortunately they just told me over the phone that they are waiting approval for exchangeIn their previous response they said the exchange was approved a employee named *** called me and said the sameNothing has happened to date , no exchange, no tracking number that says they have even began to ship itIt has now been months and weeks since we sent our sons defective Christmas present to themI would think they would have shipped the gun out priority to keep a satisfied customerI am not happy about their customer serviceVery Poor

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are a gun manufacturer and they cannot find gun to offer us as a replacementThey received my sons gun in MarchWe prefer a refund or another comparable gun shipped out immediatelyThey are dragging their feetRemington has many dealers and factoriesThey must be able to offer us another gunCome on this is ridiculousI don't know how they stay in business if they treat customers like thisLet alone a young mans Christmas present that he has not used in 7+ monthsI think we would prefer at this point to receive a Full Refund and we can buy a Browning or other gun from a manufacturer who cares about the customerThank you

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/08/04) */

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2015/08/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept
the response from the business.)
At the time of ordering the item was listed as "in stock."

***, Not sure what you are asking me on this one? we created a new service request, ***, to get the gun in for replacement we sent Mr *** a FedEx label on 3/to his email address; *** We have no record of the gun coming in yet

I know this case was closed by the Revdex.com but I am now going on weeks and have still not received by firearm back from RemingtonThey advised that in accordance with their policy, I would receive my repaired firearm or a replacement within 4-weeks and that has not happenedThey passed that time by two week and have yet to make any attempt to contact me with the statusPlease consider reopening this case as Remington has failed to even meet their own terms

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2016/01/04) */
We apologize for the delay in replacing Mr***' RhandgunWe will not ship new R51's until we have satisfied our expectation for performanceTherefore, our offer still stands to replace his Rwith an Rauto, product number
or refund him the purchase price of his RMr***' will need to provide us with a copy of his paid receipt for processing
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/01/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not expect you to ship an unsafe firearmI do expect communicationI returned the original Rin good faith based on the announced timetable by ReminigtonOver a year later the only communication I have is what I initiated
The Ris now being advertised on the Remington websiteDoes this mean the replacement is shipping soon?
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 22, 2016/01/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have never seen an explanation as to why Remington has not kept in contact with their customers
Facts:
- originally lead customers to believe it would be months for a replacement; iwe have been waiting over a year
- absolutely no contact or update provided
- any contact with Reminington after retiring the gun was initiated by me and was always the same response, "the placement will be shipped in a few months."
- Consistently had provided untruths? Why can't Remintion provide truthful information? At the beginning they should have told customers they don't have an idea when or if a
replacement will be available
- Remington removed ALL references to the Rfrom their websiteNot even instructions on what to do if you had bought one of the defective guns
Final Business Response /* (4000, 34, 2016/02/08) */
From your correspondence it is our understanding that Mr*** is willing to wait for the replacement RAgain, we apologize for the delay but appreciate Mr***' patienceAs we advised before we will not be shipping out the new R51's until we have satisfied our expectations for performance

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/11/12) */
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused Mr***His firearm was just received at our authorized repair centerThe repair center will be evaluating his firearm under our warranty to determine the best course of action to
take
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/11/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
the best course of action to take is to refund my moneyI needed a shotgun that worked for immediate useWhat I got was a poorly made and poorly inspected inferior pile of partsThis shotgun should never have made it to a retail store
As I stated in my original post: My son now has a Mossberg that has been flawless
Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2015/11/25) */
According to my records we are issuing Mr*** a refund for his firearm
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 21, 2015/11/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept the refund of defective firearm
As the owner of 700s (of which I installed a timney trigger to avoid long warranty turn around process), a 11-87, a 1100, and a 788, I sincerely hope that Quality/Quality assurance improves

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I just received a notice in the mail that the expected time frame for my "repair" is six weekThis is not a case of a firearm being used and then breakingThis is a firearm shipped from the factory that DOES NOT WORKIt should be replaced or refunded immediatelyRemington shipped a completely faulty productI do not want them to repair the gun that didn't even work when they shipped it to the store that sold itI want a new and functioning firearm, like I paid for, or a refundI find it hard to believe that Remington finds this to be an unreasonable request

***, We have contacted the rebate center and asked them to process the rebate

I am rejecting this response because:
I was told when I purchased a case all I needed to do was send the case upc because each case has boxesBy looking up the case number it already had individual box number that was packaged in the caseTherefore why should the customer cut each individual box for the shells to fall outI was told one thing and now when it’s time for them to pay it’s a different storyAlso I turned this information in November and I checked multiple times for updates and I calledI was never told anything other than it’s processing and the rebate was on the wayAfter a long period of waiting I checked again and there was some mysterious letter that was supposedly sent on February I do not believe that was sent because I have never had problems receiving mail beforeI never got the letterIf I had don’t you think I would have corrected the info and resent itThey also have my email address and phone number and it would be just as easy to send an email as it would be to send a letterRemington never contacted me nor did they tryOnce I reached out to them the promotion was supposedly overSo Remington can take months to process an order, they can then find it invalid for any reason, they can send a fake letter which never arrives to the consumer, then the consumer can reach out to them to try to get the rebate, but oh wait it’s to late because the promotion is overHow can Remington take months to process a order and not give the consumer the same amount of timeIt’s a rigged processThey are crooked thieves

If Remington were to send a few magazines, so that I don’t have to have this argument every time one fails, as this is a recurring issue, I would be satisfied

I am rejecting this response because: Prior to sending this gun back to Remington, this gun had never fired one single round. NOT ONE SINGLE ROUND. I only had it for a few days prior to sending it back. There should be NO "metal to metal" wear on the slide rail guides at all! Zero, zilch, nothing! There certainly should not have been a deep gouge on one of the rail guides and shard of aluminum falling out of the gun (probably from the gouged rail). The assertion that this is somehow "wear and tear" is absolutely and completely absurd. I have been shooting and working on firearms for over half a century and have several pistols with steel slides and aluminum frames. I have NEVER seen this kind of damage to a rail guide--even after the gun has fired HUNDREDS of rounds. As to the function testing, of course the gun will still "function." Heck, it would probably still "function" with one of the guide rails completely missing if the other guides were still intact. The question is, for how long and with what kind of accuracyThe answer is not long and with not much accuracy. Remington has never denied the gouge on the rail guide or that the gun had never been fired prior to sending it back. In fact, the only movement whatsoever on the slide was a few cycles by hand, which should (at most) wear a little paint off of the guides and certainly not any metal. in fact, this is exactly the situation with this gun. When I removed the slide to check the internals, the other three guides had a very, very slight amount of paint that had been rubbed off from hand cycling the slide--with one of the guides (left front) with a large gouge in it a shard of aluminum falling out of the gun. This response from Remington is just plain ridiculous on the face of itRemington can keep their obviously defective gun as far as I'm concerned. I have no room in my collection for a defective firearm and will not sell it on to some unsuspecting person. I have several other Remington firearms that I have never sent in for issues because there were none. I even have a model that has been recalled that I have no intention of sending back because there is nothing whatsoever wrong with the rifle and the issue is only that people who don't know what they are doing have fiddled with the trigger. Henceforth, I will have nothing to do with Remington Arms. It used to be a good company. Clearly, this is no longer the case

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/02/18) */
We have contacted Mr*** and he is going to send us a receipt for the rear sightOnce we receive the receipt we will issue a creditWe have also sent him boxes of ammo as a gesture of goodwill for the scratches
Initial Consumer
Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2016/03/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
