Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/07/08) */
Looks like the order shipped under tracking number [redacted] and was delivered on 7/8/2015.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2015/07/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Finally came...

through and shipped the product.

[redacted],            We have serviced Mr. [redacted]’s firearm under our warranty including having it test fired to ensure it is functioning properly. We have also been in contact with Mr. [redacted] and request that he test fire the firearm to make sure it...

functions properly. We would be happy to send a box of ammunition for him to use for his testing. There is no reason for Mr. [redacted] to have to put a scope on the gun to test the extraction of the fired round.  Again, we tested the firearm with factory ammunition and it performed fine. If Mr. [redacted] still has an issue with the extraction of the fired rounds we would be happy to evaluate his firearm again but will need more detailed information as to the ammunition he is using (i.e. brand, grain weight, bullet type, etc.)

I am rejecting this response because:
This is complete and utter hogwash.  I examined both the slide and the guides on the frame myself.  If there were any marks on the slide itself, I either did not see them or they were so light that I didn't pay any attention to them.  On the other hand, the gouge on the left front guide was glaringly obvious.  The other guides were still black with very, very light marks were some of the paint had been rubbed off a little bit from a few hand operations of the slide.  On the other hand, the left front guide was bright, shiny aluminum where the slide had made a gouge in it.  If there is no gouge on it now, then somebody at Remington has filed it smooth.  This will result in a guide that has different dimensions than the other guides.  Not good.  I am kicking myself now that I did not take photos prior to sending this defective gun back to Remington.  I foolishly assumed that Remington was a reputable company that would make good on a defective firearm.  Big mistake.  Remington is lying through its teeth.  Simple as that.  I have purchased many firearms and I have never--ever had an experience anywhere like this.  Simply unbelievable.  Why would I purchase a pistol and go through all of this hassle if the gun were not defective?  Also, I have strong doubts that this pistol was ever test fired by Remington prior to being sold.  You can pretty much always see some brass from the cartridge head on the bolt face when this is done.  I saw none of this. I can't say for sure, but it certainly didn't look like it.  I really don't believe that this gun was ever test fired by Remington.  Before I bought this gun, the guy at the store warned my about Remington and the company it has now become.  I foolishly bought the gun anyway--mostly because I was somewhat intrigued by the Pedersen delayed lock-up system on the R51.  Big mistake.  Prior to making the purchase, I spoke with a lady at Remington to gain some assurance that Remington would make good on the pistol because of all the problems that they had with this model.  I was assured that the problems had been resolved and was further assured that any problems with the gun that I purchased would be corrected by Remington.  Another mistake on my part for believing her. Still another strange thing is the requirement that Remington has for sending a firearm back to the original purchaser (they require it to be sent to a FFL).  As a former FFL holder this makes no sense to me.  I already completed the 4473 form, so this should be unnecessary.  On a final note, I checked after the fact to see how many Revdex.com complaints Remington had compared to the company that sells more firearms than any other, [redacted].  Remington had 87 complaints.  [redacted] had 3.  That's approx. 30 times more complaints than [redacted].  This alone should speak volumes.

[redacted],            We will be happy to resubmit the rebate if Mr. [redacted] can provide us with copies of the receipts dated 11/24/2016.

They are replacing the frame on the gun and I am waiting to see what gets delivered. That is if the new frame has the same defect. Thank you, [redacted]

I am rejecting this...

response because:
There were 5 boxes that were 50 round and 10 boxes that were 100 round.  At least 5 of my boxes should have qualified and the other 10 they should stand good for because that is what I was told at the time of purchase.  Either way I am at least owed for 5 of the boxes and they will not make good for that.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and I accept it pending the receipt of a replacement.

[redacted],            Since Mr. [redacted] advised us that he did not receive his original check we have placed a stop payment on that check and have issued a new check on 9/6/2017, check number [redacted] We anticipate he should receive it shortly. We sent...

ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I received an email this afternoon that my replacement pistol is scheduled for UPS delivery tomorrow, 8/5/15. This should satisfy my complaint. I just wish it had not come to this level with a company as reputable as Remington Arms and I hope other customer's do not have a similar experience in the future.

Our rebate center has advised us that the check will mail out today. [redacted]Revdex.com Note: The tracking number for the check is [redacted] USPS

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Dear Ms. [redacted];
First, Remington Arms Co has been reporting to me that they are processing the check for almost two weeks, nearing three now.
Second, they did not comment on their position to change the language of the offer so that it indicates that the rebate is a once per lifetime offer. That is what Remington Arms Co has interpreted the offer to mean. Yet it does not state this.
Third, Remington Arms Co did not address rectifying the situation with all previous customers. Initially I would have accepted their actions. But now it appears to be a pattern of deceit with no intention to change.
Respectfully,
[redacted]

I am not sure why I received this complaint again? we advised that it would take 5 - 7 business days for Mr. [redacted] to receive his check. Per USPS tracking [redacted], the check was delivered on June 25th, 2016.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2016/06/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Remington Arms is focusing on my receipt of the check and not addressing the remainder of the complaint. Their language in their rebate offer is in need of a change. If Remington is going to interpret the offer as a once in a lifetime, not per purchase, then the rules of their interpretation needs to be clear. They are arbitrarily interpreting the offer as a lifetime rebate by how they combine submissions, regardless of time interval. They need to change their language, otherwise this could end with a legal action against them. I'm hoping that the Revdex.com has enough clout to get Remington to review their offer, compare it to how my submissions were handled, and alter their language in their program to show that they combine all previous applications for rebate in calculating the cap on what a customer is entitled to. Remington needs to read my entire complaint, not just the fact that I felt the amount I was entitled was wrong. Remington did send the correct amount eventually. I'm not disputing that any longer.

I do not accept this response. This response implies I, the customer, am financially liable for this companies safety recall. The expenses incurred are a direct result of this recall. If I did not comply with this recall my daughter or wife could have lost their lives. Offering me a discount to spend money on their website is insulting.

The attached from is what we sent to Mr. Beckord. On page three you can see the guidelines we outline for firearm returns. We request that all accessories be removed from the firearm unless they are needed for the evaluation. Accessories including scopes can get lost or damaged resulting in additional time and costs.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 26, 2015/09/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have still incurred cost do to a recall of life threating negligence. My options were to not do anything and have a gun that could fire or kill at any time or have it repaired by the manufactures to the condition it was promised to be sold as, safe. I don't believe I should have to pay to have my rifle returned to its pre recall condition due to the negligence of a defective product.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/09/09) */
Mr. [redacted]'s order has processed and should ship within the next few days.
