RNN Group Reviews (%countItem)

This company has been calling my work every single day looking for employment verification. I gave them the correct number and they are still calling.
The people calling have stated that they are calling to verify employment and I have explained to them on several occasions that this is a city agency and employment verification has to be requested through a particular number. I have given several different callers the number, and they continue to call my phone after I've asked to have us added to the do not call list.

Desired Outcome

Call the correct phone number for employment verification.

RNN Group Response • Aug 01, 2019

Hello, I am sorry for any confusion. If you can email ***@rnngroup.com with your full name and the name of the employer, we will make sure to update our directory. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. We perform over 1M employer verifications per month. The contact in compliance is Ashley. Thanks so much

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Company contacted my place of employment for personal information.
RNN Group is a company who contacts your place of employment under false pretense stating they are doing an employment verification. They faxed my place of employment with the last 4 digits of my security number requesting my address and other personal information. I feel appalled that a complete stranger contacted my place of employment phishing for personal information. This is a total invasion of privacy.

Desired Outcome

Do not ever contact my place of employment.

RNN Group Response • Aug 01, 2019

Hello. I am sorry to report your statements are incorrect. We only contacted your employer based on their required process to request employment status. We contact employers based on our clients permissible purpose and the contract you signed with them to confirm if the employment information they have on file for you is accurate. A Yes or a No. We do not collect payroll information and only verify by full name and last 4 digits of your social security number. We do everything we can to support consumers and I appreciate if you do not make false statements about RNN anymore.

This company harasses people by calling their employer numerous times under the guise that they are conducting an employment verification. Several Revdex.com complaints have been filed against them, to which they have responded indicating that they will only "attempt" to contact an employer once every 72 hours and no more than three attempts will be made in total. This is false! They relentlessly harass consumers and their employers and violate privacy laws. A class action lawsuit should be filed against them.

Called employer on July 11, 2019 asking for me from my previous married name. I have not had that name since 2007. Lady on the phone was extremely rude and very pushy.

I received an email on my work email for Employment Verification for *** M *** (former married last name)
I received an employment verification request email from RNN Group. I called the XXX-XXX-XXXX from the email and pressed option 2 for the consumer option. All I got was a looping message. Below is the email that was sent to me. I don't know who they are and what they want, but I am unable to speak to a live human and I will not leave a message with my phone number as I do not know if it is a phishing scam.

Thank you for your inquiry and I apologize for the call routing. We have 2 options- 1 to be transferred to a manager and the other is a recording on what RNN is. I will forward your note to our department manager to reach out to you by email.

Thanks so much,
Donna

RNN Group s a company who fraudulently calls your place of employment stating they are doing an employment verification,
They called my previous place of employment not even asking who they were speaking with they gave my personal information to a secretary that was covering for the regular secretary who was out they gave my social security number asking for the last four requesting my address and other personal information. This company is trying to locate people who owe bills this is not me. I feel appalled that they gave all my personal information to a complete stranger I don't even know something must be done to stop this it an outrage.

RNN Group called my employer trying to verify my employment
rnn group called my employer to verify my employment and I happened to answer the phone. The woman's name was Ashanti and she claimed she needed to verify my employment for a client but would not tell me who. she then gave me an email and reference number I could use to find out who their client was. I sent an email and it was returned. the email she gave me was ***@rnn.com.

Desired Outcome

DO NOT CONTACT MY EMPLOYER

RNN Group Response • Jun 18, 2019

Hello, thank you for your inquiry. It seems you didn't send the email to the correct address, so please send it to [email protected]. Your email address is just missing the group.

We will provide you our client information so that you can contact them to inquire on why they have asked us to verify they have the current employment information on file for you!

RNN Group called my work asking for me for a verification of employment. But I haven't applied for any credit.
On 5-9-19, the caller, Mary *** identified herself as working for RNN Group and said she was verifying my employment. I asked her why since I had not applied for any credit. She said there are lots of companies they work for, credit card companies, student loans, etc. She asked if she could confirm the company I work for, and she did correctly, but then she asked to verify my birth date, she rattled off a date, it was incorrect and I told her so, she also asked if she could verify the last 4 of my SS# which was wrong too. She said "we will update our records." Then she hung up. The number that called me was *** One of two things this could be, the company is shady or someone has applied for credit under my name. This is very sketchy and I want it to stop.

Desired Outcome

Stop calling for fake employment verifications.

RNN Group Response • May 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
After writing numerous times to a previous email address and having it kick back, in this last response from RNN I was given a different address, ***@rnngroup.com, that one worked. I have received a reply with the information requested. This matter can be closed.

This company contacted my employer via fax. I do not know who they are but they say that they wanted personal information from my employer.
On May 9, 2019 RNN faxed over a request for Employment verification. I do not know that this company is trying to do. They have asked for personal information. They already had the last 4 of my social security number and my first and last name, along with middle initial. I do not have any business with this company.

Desired Outcome

I want this company to stop contacting my employer with fraudulent requests. I have not applied for any financial resources and I have not given anyone permission to contact my employer to obtain information about me.

RNN has emailed my work and is now calling trying to do a employment verification. They have my personal info including my ss number. I have not applied to any jobs, applied for any loans , credit cards ect. I do not owe anyone anything. They have zero reason to be trying to verify my employment. When I try to get information they will only tell me to email customer service and ask in a email then wait for a response. They will not tell me anything only stating they have be hired by the company to get the required info.

Desired Outcome

No further contact by the busi I want my information wiped from their systems. I do not want some random company having my ss number at all. Do not contact my job or any place requesting info for me.

Hello, I apologize for any confusion our service to verify accurate employment has caused. Also I reviewed our rep's recording and they followed our required scripts. Left a message with a coworker (not even my boss, as I am the general manager) my full social security number on his message and wanted him to verify my employment. I have called this number and emailed the company to explain why they would be leaving my entire social security number on a message to a employee who does not have the ability to verify my employment.

Desired Outcome

No further contact by the busi I would not like any communication by this company other than through mail and/or in writting. Never should they ever call and leave another message with my entire social security number to a random employee.

RNN Group Response • May 01, 2019

Hello, I am shocked by your note and will be reaching out to our verification center executive today to research your account. Please email me at ***@rnngroup.com so I can follow up with you. This is not our policy.

Customer Response • Jul 02, 2019

The Manager called me to explain this was not their policy. She continued to ask me regarding my employment. I asked her for information on the debt she was seeking the information for. She informed me their company was not a collection and she was simply seeking information to pass to another collector. However, 07/01/2019, I received a letter of garnishment for a debt I did no know of, they dated the letters at the beginning of June but did not send it out until the end of June. Giving exactly 20 days, so they can charge me more on the debt they failed to be honest about in the first place. Now, they have a garnishment through the court and additional amounts plus the garnishee fee.

RNN Group Response • Jul 08, 2019

Hello,

This is ***, the President of RNN Group. Please note our customers do not sure the nature of your business or account with our team. We are simply hired to verify the employment information they have on file.

There is nothing we have done that should be of shock to anyone, as we are not the debtor, loan originator or the law firm they hire. We are not part of this process or contract in any way.

I am sorry for what happened to you, and we offer to provide our client information so anyone can contact their loan company directly to manage their account. Again, this is the very best we can offer given we do not have access to any consumer's personal account information.

This company has faxed information to my job for employment verification in which I have not given consent for them to verify anything nor do I have any idea who this company is or what it is they want. I do not want this company contacting my job if they want to talk to me then they need to contact me directly.

Desired Outcome

No further contact by the busi If this company is trying to collect something or wants information then they need to contact me directly. I have not signed any documents with this company and I want them to stop sending faxes to my employer. They have no right to request information without my consent.

This company has called my HR/employer and was transferred to me. They would not tell me who they represented but asked for me to verify my identify by my social security number. They claimed it was for "employment verification" but refused to tell me why. The person did not sound like they were in the United States.

I refused to give them any information unless she told me who she was calling for. She would only say RNN Group and said it was "an auto loan, student loan or credit card." I don't have any auto loan and my student loans are up to date.

When I told her I refused to give her any info and take me off their list, they turned around and dialed our main office number again, then hung up.

My complaint type is really potential identity theft; however, the Revdex.com does not list that option, so I chose service.

On 4/8/2019, my employer received a faxed Request for Employment Verification from the RNN Group, Inc. They had my first name, middle initial, last name, last four digits of my social security number, and the name of my employer. They wanted verification if I was currently employed by this company, if I worked over 30 hours per week, the name and title of the person completing the form, if the name of the company was correct, and if the company address was correct.

I had not recently applied for a position with another company, not had I completed paperwork for financial reasons. I

I left a message for this company, citing the reference number, that if they did not return my call and explain what this was for, I would file a report with the police for fraud. I am also filing this complaint with the Revdex.com.

Desired Outcome

Contact by the Business I want to know how the RNN Group, Inc. got access to some of my personal information, and for what purpose.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't have outstanding debt for a company. There is no company needing to verify that I am still employed. To follow their process is to verify information without knowing who for in advance. So, I do not accept their response.

Customer Response • Apr 29, 2019

There apparently is no resolution.

RRN Group contacted my employer requesting a verification of employment. I have NOT requested any loans, DO NOT owe any money. They had the last four digits of my SSN and my name! I don't know who or how they obtained my information. I have NOT signed any release to contact my employer for any verification.

Desired Outcome

No further contact by the busi DO NOT contact my employer until you provide a reason why you are and WHO is requesting this information.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
That does not explain how they obtained my information and for what purpose without my authorization.

RNN Group Response • May 01, 2019

I apologize I was not clear enough on the service our company provides.

When you sign any loan or line of credit application, there is language that allows the Loan originators (known as permissible purpose) to confirm the accuracy of data they have on file, at any time.

RNN provides an employment accuracy verification service to loan originators ranging from credit cards, auto, student loans and so forth.

So we are calling to verify based on our client's authorization and permissible purpose.

Per my first response you have full access to the name of our client that submitted your account by contacting us.

Thank you

This company contacted my employer to verify my employment but was unable to provide consent to access my employment data so the information has not been provided.
I have never heard of the company and it seems they provide a function related to collection which scares me because I dont think I owe anything. I would hate to have to fight some issue after some weird item posts to my credit report. It took months to fix last time.

Desired Outcome

Contact by the Business I would like to be informed 1. If this company has a legitimate purpose and what it is 2. I would like to know who RNN's client is 3. If the company is legit why are they facing requests for information over without a consent to do so?

All consumers we have in our inventory have signed a contract with our client, so is the reason we do not require a signed release.

It is critical that you receive the name of our client as quickly and easily as possible, upon your request, and that our representatives do not make so many multiple attempts to verify if you are employed, so I have updated our processes.
