Just got off the phone with TCF representativeMy account got charged dollars in overdraft protection fees that the bank neither did honor payments for the vendors/services neither did they stop them from taking money outThe person I talked to were not able to help me, and one of them were interrupting while I was talkingThis is mainly my grandparents account who are senior citizens over years old and were out of state for few weeks while this whole nonsense happened with their accountThey are loyal customers since day one for many many years, probably at least Is it time to move on to another bank? I have been with TCF bank for more than years and I know all their little tricks of scamming customers They don't care about their loyal customers at all All they care about is scamming, nickeling and diming you nowadays Years ago I used to deposit thousands of dollars at a time in one hundred dollar bills Imagine depositing or $bills at the same time One miscount and they will have stolen $from you That's what happened The branch manager at TCF at the Cub Foods on Maryland Ave always refused to count my money in front of me I am sure they had stolen thousands of dollars from me and unsuspecting customers Today, they still won't count my money in front of me Some very good bank tellers and NON-lazy ones will count right in front of you Most of them take it to the back and let the machine count So, what if the machine says something more and you're just saying yep That's right Scamming!!!! I have paper checks automatically sent from another bank to TCFMy mortgage payment comes out of my TCF accountThis has been in place for several yearsMy two December checks (12/and 12/30) were issues from bank #1, but by 1/7/17, they had not been depositedWhen I spoke to the TCF the local assistant manager about the missing deposits, he went out and checked the mail where he located my two checksNo one had checked the mail in three weeksThey then deposited the checks causing my account at bank #to become overdrawn by $When I asked for TCF to refund the overdraft fees due to their negligence, they refusedMy bank of origin, even though they had nothing to do with the situation, refunded me three of the NSF fees

I was charged overdraft fees in the past weeks for actions which I have taken before to cover any negative amounts in my bank account even though I have been taking the same action in the past and they have never charged an overdraft fee beforeI don't know what type of games they're trying to play by stealing money from me, but they're not going to have me as a customer for much longer if this doesn't changeExample: I had a charge come thru after midnight and the same day before business opened I already had money transferred and it covered the transaction perfectly-- I have done this before and have never received an overdraft fee and now all of a sudden they want to begin charging me?!?!

I went into the branch located at ** ** *** in Chicago, IL to have my bank account re-openedI started a new job and wanted to set up direct deposit to itI asked them with the reopening of the account and receiving the deposit would the funds be immediately available and I was told yesThis morning after checking to see if the deposit was made and accepted and learning it was, I attempted to use my bank card twice and it was declinedI called the customer service line for the bank and was told by different employees that there was no way I could have access to my money until Tuesday even though my account is showing an available balance todayThe employee at the branch purposely mislead me into thinking that I would have access to the account right awayI am now stuck going almost days without access to my funds

On 11/27/my spouse informed me that he used a debit check card attached to our joint account for bill payThere were no funds in the account to cover the purchase (which I was aware of) so I immediately attempted to go online and make a transfer for the purchaseHowever, I could not make the transfer because the system keep displaying an error messageI checked for any information about the error online and there was nothing explaining the errorI waited a couple hours and tried again, but got the same error messageThis morning I attempted to make the transfer again and I got the same error message this time with an explanation stating the site was having "issues." TCF Bank willing delays showing overdraft transactions in an effort to charge overdraft fees to customersThey have done this multiple times on my accountTheir online system is not clear as to when overdrafts happen and therefore fees are charged

TCF bank closed my account without notificationI have not received my money back I called their customer service , and the reps told me that the check was mailed to my previous addressI asked to send the check to my new address in CanadaThe reps told me he couldn't do anything about my checkPlease help me get my money back!!!

My check card was canceled by this establishment since they decided to issue me a new card years before the one I had was set to expire, despite having not received nor activating said new cardThey made no attempt to verify the new card was received or activated before canceling my existing card without notificationThis caused me no end of frustration in the mean timeSo I transfered my payments to my account at another bank and weeks later went in to close my account with themI was told I could not close it because there were pending transactions on my inactive, invalid cardThe card they canceledAnd apparently they have no way to cancel those transactions even though the valid account holder was standing there saying to do soThose transactions will never be processed, as the card is invalid, and the account owner is telling them, in person, that they do not have the card and it should be cancelledDuring all of this I pulled up my online banking, which shows no pending transactionsThis is an unfathomable, and unacceptable, level of ineptitude for any establishment handling money

My husband recently made a car purchase as a birthday gift for me back on April The purchase was suppose to have been a partial payment of $cash and and $paid by our VIsaThe merchant agreed to let my husband bring payment back in cash but he charged our card several times until the money actually went through Also, the puchase price we negotiated to be was for $Down payment was $and finance the remainder or $to help build my husband's credit a little moreOnce the Bill of Sale was printed for him to sign, we noticed the "sale price of the car" was $So we asked why is the sale price diffent from what we agreed to? TCF is the worst bank to bank with they have a terrible rating on everythingThey charged me to close my accountWTF is a closed account fee? sounds like they are trying to make off unsuspecting peopleI will never go to them again they are terribleall locations and corporate sites

TCF Charged me overdraft fees in the amount of dollars on 02/08/for items that over drafted my account on 02/07/ I believe that this is not only an error by TCF but a business practice the cheats customers out of moneyThere were checks that all came in at the same time 02/07/These checks were written out over a period of over daysI believe that TCF held these checks until the most inappropriate time and put them through all at once knowing that the very next day I was getting my unemployment causing my account to overdraw and then charging outrageous fees because of itAt the very least I was overcharged because only items overdrew my accountTCF continues these business practices of underhanded deals in an effort to make more money from customers

I paid for the groceries of a man who had left his wallet at home, with the condition he send me a check He took my address, and to my surprise, he actually did mail a check to me He didn't get my name, nor I his, except on the return address where he placed his last name, city, and zip code He addressed the envelope to "Good Neighbor."
I deposited the check through an ATM on Lyndale in Cub Foods in Bloomington MNThe amount was $TCF has refused to cash the check because I filled out my name on the "To" line and endorsed it, and this was stated as making the check "non-negotiable." He filled out the amount and signed the checkAfter almost minutes of various customer service calls, ranging from "well it's the computer", to fraud, to fonts, my branch is refusing to cash the check I have been a TCF customer for yearsI haven't committed fraud yet; I wasn't planning on starting today
They told me to send the check back to this stranger whose name I don't have

I applied to TCF bank based on an advertised promotion of $for opening a checking account and engaging in certain activitiesI completed those activitiesI never received the $I called TCF, and they said that even though they did have this promotion active when I applied, the promotion is not notated on my account, so I can't get it, even though it was advertised and I created an account solely due to this advertisement

On June 18, I submitted a complaint with TCF Bank because a company took two drafts from my account, one I authorized one I did notThe one I did not authorize put my account into over draft, I was charged fees that still a month and a half later this matter has not been settledI was told that the first person I spoke with on their customer service never put in my complaintsI had not heard from them after ten business days so I called back, then I was told to get this matter resolved I had to go into a branch and fill out paper workI went in filled out paper work and still this matter have not been resolvedI can't understand how as a long time customer of TCF Bank it has taken this long to resolve this issueI have been unable to get my finance back in order since this matterTCF Bank has dropped the ball on this matter, and the customer service was very poor

TCF is absolutely the WORSTTheir fee system is set up in a very predatory manner $to use any ATM that isn't theirsThis is on top of any other additional ATM fees If you get anywhere near a Zero balance - FEAR FOR YOUR LIFEThey claim that "we cannot control the order that merchants post payments." It's very strange that, with BARELY going into Overdraft, even when I make attempts to rectify it immediately, the order in which the merchants process things always seems to benefit the bank over the customerSince January, I've had to pay nearly $1,in fees to the bank$to be exactJust in FEEsThey've figured out a way to make me petrified to get near a $balanceIf I go over, there goes half my paychecksI cannot control the way merchants process their payments eitherAll I can do is operate in real time, in real life as it goes byI was in a position where I was living paycheck to paycheck, but even when I got out of that hole, TCF still found ways to make incredulous amounts of money off of meI've switched banks, and my new bank is nowhere near this terrifyingEnjoy the free money TCF - you're not getting a dime more from meHopefully not from anyone who cares to read this

I checked my account balance today via the TCF app and found my savings was -$I called customer service and they told me the 3rd party collection agency has taken out the money as it's from a previous account of which I was never notified of and there's no record of who took the money as it just shows I am negative $I am talking to RGS Financial(the collection agency) and they told me if they had collected the money from my account then it would've came out as "RGS Financial" in my statementsWhat's weird is they took it out my savings account but not my checking account

On 12/I initiated an AT&T withdrawal for $120, accepting that my account would be assessed a fee of $for overdrafting the accountThis was done with the knowledge that I had not used my debit card that day for any transactionsHowever, I now see multiple fees for payments that were made days before the 12th that did not post until the 12thSince the ATM withdrawal did not post until the 13th, it doesn't make sense that TCF would penalize my account if the charges and withdrawals were not posted on the same day

Tcf charged me $in excess withdrawal fees without telling meThey sent me a letter saying I am withdrawing from savings too many times a month and will take action against it by CLOSING my account (never mentioned any fees)Instead they charged me $SEVENTEEN timesThey never informed me I would be charged (not even in the letter about the problem) and didn’t even show the fees on my account until the end of the yearThe whole time I did not know and the charges were not even showing on my accountWhen I called I was told it was in the fine print which I understand but why would it not be in the letter they sent me regarding the action they were going to takeHow much money would they take from me before they would finally do what they told me they were going to do? They also charged me the monthly maintenance fee every month despite them informing me you only get charged that fee if you have less than $in your account, which I haveTcf should not even be a financial institution anymore when they are stealing money from the people who trust them
