Semper Solaris Construction

My wife and I knew that going solar was going to be a process. First trying to narrow down the best companies and after meeting with our top 3 we decided to go with Chase at Semper Solaris. Our first impression of Chase was that he was professional and knowledgeable in the field, he informed us of all our options and made the process easy and pain free. Everyone else we came in contact with after was just the same, professional and friendly. Thrilled with our solar and with Semper and their team!

It would be hard to recommend the company whole heartedly. We really wanted to love this company, and tried to work through it the entire process. We provided specifics to what we would like our layout to be on our roof, but unfortunately the first design review had everything opposite, which includes our concerns to the actual site surveyor. Next, we were told our electrical was good to go and everything would be great. Unfortunately we were required to upgrade our panel instead, which increased the cost by another 10%. This was another loop we were thrown. I wanted to finalize the panel design before committing to the change order to upgrade the panel, but our sales person wouldn't let us proceed with a different design until we agreed to the change order. This was after already sending our deposit in. We got to talk to the sales person after and he ensured that the panel upgrade would be ok, and our old panel removed and we wouldn't notice it there after installation. We ended up agreeing afterwards and also after we were told that they would fix this relationship and have everything good to go from here on out. This wasn't the case again, we had our start date set in a Thursday, and we would get notification the day before to confirm. The workers didn't confirm and just showed up Thursday without notice. We then were rescheduled after things were not planned correctly. I was told this installation process would take 2-3 days, but it extended to nearly two weeks. The first hiccup was that they didn't know our roof was a certain pitch, which should have been know since there was a site survey. So the commencement of the project, which was reschedule to Tuesday , caused another delay. Next, the panels were installed not according to the panel design that I agreed to. I had to email and call to ask which design we were actually going by, which was the design I agreed upon. Well this caused another delay. Lastly, the panel upgrade mentioned early resulted in two panels and having the original in place and the statement retracted, stating that this would cost too much. I am overall not pleased with the communication, especially since these workers are military veterans. All these issues could have been resolved if there was any communication between me and the company. I cannot recommend anyone to do business with them if you're looking for a company that values customer service.

Rhami was the best through this process. It takes time to get it done, but it all worked out. Great communication. Great customer service.

We are writing this complaint to express our dissatisfaction with Semper Solaris, El Cajon in their lack of progress to complete a solar installation project at our residence. After seven (7) months, we have reached the final inspection phase of this project, which their local team has failed the final inspection phase three (3) times so far. Each failed attempt appears something new and related to their oversight. For instance, they failed to meet demands for the sub-panels and main panel codes, did not submit a permit order for our electric vehicle, and other oversights with our solar system. They only communicate to us that they need to correct some things, but then ask for us to incur the cost (directly communicated to us) to fix their main/sub panel oversight to pass inspection. To add insult, they do not communicate in a timely manner and rather, they point the finger at other employees during this phase, including us, the homeowners. Their company demonstrates a lack of knowledge of the permit process, local codes, and poor project planning appear: which appear to be the main causes for these delays. This placed us in a situation when our energy costs doubled, as we concurrently pay for power from the grid as well as for solar panel that are not operational, with no clear date set for the completion of the project. Their representative in the final solar phase has not reached out to us, nor informed us on how to remedy the final inspection. Further evidence of the lack of expertise in the permitting process is Semper Solaris’ El Cajon's failure to request a permit for the installation of an electric vehicle charger, which was added to the project on November 15, 2018. Semper only submitted the permit application for the EV charger on June 18th after lack of permit was identified by a local inspector, leaving us with limited inability to charge our EV at home.

After searching multiple solar and roofing companies here in San Diego, we landed on Semper Solaris due to the fact they had great reviews and they could do both our solar and roofing project at the same time. Now I know why Semper Solaris received such high marks! Rhami Hasenin was our solar rep and he was GREAT throughout the entire process. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and very responsive. If you're looking to go solar, I highly recommend giving Rhami a call. He'll treat you like family!

The crew that did my install was very courteous and professional. Mike V has walked me through every step of the process and continues to answer any questions I have. I highly recommend this company to install your solar.

I highly recommend Semper Solaris as the company to hire for your solar and roof projects! I had gotten more than a few bids but they earned my trust and business starting with our initial energy consultation with Roland O. who was professional, very knowledgeable, and on time for our meeting ;). Frankly, he put myself and my wife at ease, laid out reasonable expectations and the pricing was right. Semper Solaris Team managed both projects, which was also a deciding factor of choosing them. My wife and I had a pleasant experience from start to finish and they must be considered when thinking about solar and/or roofing. Thank you all at the Semper team for a job well done!

Semper Solaris was defiantly the best company we could have went with.

After much research we decided to go with Semper Solaris for our solar. Billie our project manager took excellent care of us throughout the entire process.I really felt like Billie had our best interest at heart and was always so accommodating. She has so much solar knowledge it was quite impressive. This company cares about its customers and it shows.

I have researched for different solar installation companies over the past two weeks and decided to hire semper Solaris for our solar project David Kaul was our energy consultant and he explained everything in detail and we felt that this company would do a good job. We are very happy with the complete process and installation of our roof and solar definitely recommend them to anyone who's looking for a great roof and Solar Company.

We interviewed 4 different solar and roofing companies and decided to go with semper Solaris. The biggest reason was the fact that they hire military veterans and they also give back to their community. Our representative David K was very thorough not only in his presentation about the company but when he put our numbers together what it would cost it became a no-brainer, semper Solaris is definitely our Solar Company!

After several weeks researching the best company to go with we decided on Semper Solaris. This was an easy decision for us after meeting with our consultant Roland we found out our electricity bill would be cut in half!! We also feel really good supporting a local veteran owned company as we are a proud American family who loves to support our veterans! I recently met with Roland and have to say out of all of the consultants I met with he was by far the most knowledgeable. I also really appreciate the fact that he never made me feel pressured during our consultation. Roland has made the whole solar process enjoyable and I have to say that I’m really impressed with the overall quality of Semper Solaris!

I looked at several companies for solar before going with Semper Solaris. Gavin came out and was great at providing an overview of their product and how the system would work. The project manager (Mark) and installer (Mike) were amazing. They communicated with me all the way through the process. They shared tips on the system and completed the job in less time than I expected. I saw an immediate difference in my SDGE bill after the first cycle. Semper even did a final walk through (thanks Courtney) to show me more about the system and monitoring app. Thanks for the great service. I'd highly recommend.

Outstanding company! Semper kept me informed throughout the project. They sent me periodic emails to let me know that we were still waiting (about 6 weeks) for the city permit. Once the permit was approved, the installation was the following week. The work crew was on time, and completed the work in 1 day. There were a couple of roof tiles that were broken, not sure if they were pre-existing or were broken during the installation, but Semper replaced the tiles the very next morning because rain was in the forecast. Billie Y, the Installation Coordinator, was great to work with. She always answered my questions/concerns promptly. If she did not have the answer, she passed me to someone who did. After the installation, via the iPhone app, I noticed there was one panel that was under producing relative to the other panels. Semper did the troubleshooting remotely, and promptly called to explain the situation. Overall, I am happy to have gone with Semper Solaris.

This is a great company to work with. They are awesome about communicating through every step of the process. Everyone in the company that we dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. No hidden costs, very up front and made sure we got exactly what we needed. Thanks!

Excellent! My solar ground mount looks great and although it took awhile to be completed because the County of SD is very slow; we are happy. The crew was gentle when working around my wife's plants and garden which we very much appreciated. We worked with Rhami during the sales process and he was informative and always available to us which made us feel in good hands. Thank you Rhami! Our scheduler Billie called us to see what days worked best for us and answered our questions. She was very nice on the phone. Pricing, product, customer service and execution were all great. Highly recommend Semper Solaris!

I am not satisfied with the solar system I got from Semper Solaris. I was told that the system would cover at leat 90% of my electricity bill. At the end of year one I had to pay over $1200 to SCE. That is a huge bill I was not prepared for and not what I was sold on by Bob K the salesman. I have been trying to determine the issue with Semper Solaris and Tony the service manager would not take my call. Whitney who helped me on the first few calls is no longer with the company. I have spoken to about 5 different people over the past three weeks and have not received any explanation as to how this could have happened and how to resolve/ fix the issue.
They had David come out after a week or two, and I was assured my online monitoring combined with my SCE bills would explain the situation. I delivered all invoices and and the monitoring system still says that I am producing 0 kw of power from my solar panels.
I have several times over the past month and do not have any explanation at this point.
I am getting no where with this company. I would not recommend this company for solar power!
