Thank you for your inquiry.  Phoenix is a third-party debt collector.  We do not purchase or otherwise "pick up" debts, all accounts are placed by the creditor with our office for collections.  Notices are sent on all accounts prior to credit reporting as required by law.  Notice was sent on this account on 4/13/17. However, credit reporting has already been removed due to dispute and additional documentation requested to be sent to the consumer for their review.Thank you,Kimberly E[redacted], CCOPhoenix Financial Services

Thank you for your inquiry. We do show a letter sent on the account on 5/2/2017 as well as a telephone conversation with the spouse on 6/14/2017 at a phone number ending in [redacted].  The original complaint does state a telephone conversation took place, so perhaps there is confusion on the complaint this response is attached to.  Additionally, Phoenix Financial Services, LLC is a third-party debt collector and does not purchase or otherwise acquire accounts.  Accounts are owned by the creditor and placed and Phoenix Financial Services, LLC for collection. However, we do show the credit reporting was removed due to dispute previously.Thank you,Kimberly E[redacted], CCOPhoenix Financial Services LLC

Upon conclusion of my internal investigation, I determined the following:
?
We do not see any conversations on the account with a third party or information given to anyone otherthan the account-holder. The caller identified herself as the account-holder and we then verified the last four only of the social security number. Additionally, the account-holder then requested a statement be sent and we verified the address she would like the statement sent to as part of the same conversation after identity was established. Upon conclusion of my internal investigation, I determined the following
I have sent to the Chief Operations Officer to review calls. It does appear during the initial call, the consumer
stated that she thought we had the wrong person. Therefore, no information could be given regarding the
account. Although frustrating, legally no information can be revealed to a potential third party.
I have requested additional documentation from the creditor to send to Ms. [redacted] when received.
Though there have been no communications since June 2015, I have placed the account in a cease

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The reason I reject this response is because the company is in violation of FCRA and my consumer rights. They have had to request said documentation from another party because they aren't sure that the account belongs to me. This is something that I have already told them. How can they report an account and not know whether its my account or not. Meanwhile, they continue to ruin my credit worthiness and state in WRITING- they aren't sure it is mine-by requesting documentation. Delete this account and cease and desist further damaging my credit worthiness.Regards,[redacted]
