signed up for a trial course, I decided I no longer wanted the course and tried to cancel my membership. I have been given the run around in doing so.
I signed up for a 4 week trial but realized I dont want to attend these classes with 24 days left of the trial. I have not joined a single class and tried to delete my account and membership. When I tried to online they told me to call a number, when I called the number they told me to email, and when I emailed they told me to go back online and cancel. Shaw academy seems more interested in my money then making It easy for me to cancel. I recieved multiple calls at 5am during hours that I'm sleep and the entire process has been frustrating. Most companies with free trials dont make things this difficult.

Desired Outcome

I would like account and membership canceled immediately and reassurance that I will not be charged.

Signed up for the free 4 week trial. Shortly after my card was charged numerous times.
Signed up for the 4 wk trial. Card was charged once then refunded. Then again for an much larger amount. It has not been refunded yet. I did not authorize this. Calling the bank to report them for fraud as that is exactly what this is. You can not offer a 4 week trial then charge the card less than 30 minutes later. I did not sign up for any additional tool kits or anything. It kept asking for my card and now I know why. I am shocked and very upset considering this came out of my rent fund. I am now unable to pay my rent and we are in a virus crisis to boot.

Desired Outcome

I want the money returned to my card immediately.

I tried to cancel my free trial, but I had to schedule courses to get to my account page. I did not end up using this service once and therefore canceled after the free trial and accepted the one month charge no problem as I canceled long before the renewal date, which was confirmed by the support email they had sent. Everything seemed to have gone well, but today I found out my card had been billed another 49.99 and only after then it was changed to "non renewing". Also they "added a 6 months free" but I would not fall for it then get charged 299.99 after for a service I will not use. I had to call my bank and initiate a stop payment to prevent anything else happening with Shaw Academy and attempt a refund.

This is a scam! 500 customer reviews - most in the past few days because they are a scam company trying to take advantage of people during an economic downturn. After clicking through the website repeatedly stating I wanted to cancel my account, finally being required to call a number to cancel, punching through on the automated system repeatedly again to cancel, only to be told I then had to send an email, only to have my emails bounce - you cannot contact anyone at this company directly. They are abSCAM! Do NOT give them your money, you'll never get it back!!!!

Shaw Academy took my money even tho l cancelled the free trial.I did not approve of this they took 49.99 from my account for something I'm not interested in

I am attempting to cancel my 4-week free subscription, but I continue to get the run around and it has yet to be cancelled.
I recently subscribed to a 4-week free subscription to Shaw Academy. After reviewing the classes, and realizing there were other fees, I decided not to continue with Shaw Academy. I went through the steps online to cancel the subscription. After going threw several steps to attempt to cancel, there was a message stating to confirm my cancellation, I had to call (XXX) XXX-XXXX. When I called the phone number, I had to go through approximately four steps to finally reach the end of automated system to cancel my subscription. However, at the end, I was again told they could not cancel my subscription over the phone, and I would have to email ***@shawacademy.com. When I emailed them, I received an email back from "Gomes" stating "due to security reasons" they were unable to cancel my subscription from the support end, and had to pass it over to their relevant team. In the same email, I was told I would be updated with 48 hours. It was past 48 hours, and nothing had been updated. I emailed again, explaining the whole situation, and I received another email, this time from "Roy" with the same response as "Gomes". My subscription has yet to be cancelled. The phone number provided does not provide anybody to speak to a representative. I have searched throughout the website to find any type of point of contact, but I still am unable to get one. I am unable to remove my credit card information, and I am afraid this would continue and be charged at the end. I deactivated my credit card so that I would not be charged. I have made several attempts to contact Shaw Academy, but there has bee no indication, or notice that my subscription has been cancelled.

I would like Shaw Academy to confirm they have cancelled my subscription, with an email response. I just want this done.

Shaw Academy finally emailed me and told me my subscription was cancelled.

Cyber fraud done by this company. They use you credit card details to charge you for unauthorised purchases. Will not let you cancel your subscription letting you no other choice but to cancel your credit card and get a new one.

I cancelled my subscription right when I signed up , just so I can use the free trial and not forget to cancel later on . Today I was charged 50$ and needless to say I am fuming in anger . I tried to cancel again today and this time recorded the screen while doing it , it does not let me cancel . I'm assuming this is what happened the first time . This is a scam , I clicked cancel subscription 20 times and followed all the prompts and nothing changes with my membership . Again I have a video of myself doing this

So I did find an email in which I cancelled the service on January XX XXXX. The money was refunded to me , however it was not easy , even though I had an email confirming I cancelled the services before the trial subscription ended , the person handling my case said they " would do it this time for ME".
I showed them proof that I did in fact cancel . Why would anyone answer me saying they would do it exclusively for me this time but normally they wouldn't have refunded anything even though they were in the wrong ????
People need to be informed of this SCAM company and this company needs to be reported . Maybe someone isn't as lucky as me in finding an old email and wouldn't insist to get their money back . That's how they feed off of people .

I was charged for a "Toolkit" I did not ask. They refused to cancel it and refund me, even though I asked for it immediately.
I subscribed for a 4-weeks free trial, providing my billing information since it was a requirement. A couple of weeks later I was charged with the cost of a "toolkit" I never asked for. Immediately, I contacted customer service, explained the situation, asked for them to cancel it (since it is something I don't need nor want) and refund me, but they refuse.
I am the victim of a scam by Shaw Academy. They knowingly and on purpose get credit card/PayPal information from the users, to later bill them and trick them into buying this extra services all through the website to trick the users and force them to pay and keep using a deceptive service.

Desired Outcome

I would only accept a refund from the company, in this situation.

Unable to cancel subscription
Tmobile has a program called Tmobile Tuesday. Shaw Academy was offering a free a 4 week course through Tmobile Tuesday. Since I trusted Tmobile, I enrolled in the free membership on 03/25/2020 even entering in my card information. The same day I tried to cancel the subscription but was told that I had to wait 48 hours until im able to cancel. After the 48 hours, I have been trying to contact whether it be emailing them or calling them to cancel the subscription. I've sent over 7 emails to ***@shawacademy.com and I've contacted the XXX XXX XXXX over 15 times. It is a vicious cycle of email to website to phone number. I have yet to speak to a real person/representative. I am not the only person who has had this issue. If you research their instagram account, hundreds of people are having the same issue. If you search on youtube, there are other tmobile customers that are voicing the same issue.

I signed up for the free trial on 20th of JanuaryI signed up for the free trial course on January 20th and I canceled on February 10th. I sent many emails to different areas trying to receive an answer and a solution. In all emails I explained that I received a charge on my account card *** on the 15th of February when I had cancel previously one week before to finish the membership and I wanted to get my money back because it *** fair. Besides that, I never received an email from them to tell me that my membership it will be going to finish. Today (one week after send many emails) I received an email in which they stopped the communication with me and they consider fixed the issue. Also I spoke with my bank and they couldn't dispute the charges without the authorization code when the transaction clears that only Shaw Academy can provide.

My subscription is canceled long time ago, actually I finished my course after my membership. I just wish refund my money back. I didn't want have to fixed by another way. Shall Academy is a scamp. They are stealing money from everybody and this is unacceptable.

After signing up for a free trial, I have discovered that they will not allow me to cancel my subscription.
I signed up on March 27th for a 4 week free trial of the nutrition class. While a credit card is required to sign up for a free trial, the company claims it allows you to cancel any time. However, clicking through the « cancel my subscription » link leads you to a phone number you must call to cancel. Calling the phone number leads you to an email address you must send a request to. To date, my request for cancelation has only resulted in an automatic return email, and my membership has not been canceled. Further calls to customer support lead back to the same automated messaging system, and finally back to the same request to send an email to cancel membership.

Desired Outcome

I would like my membership canceled before my credit card is charged.

Charged for a eCertificate I was not attempting to buy. Floating purchase button on course page clicked unintentionally. Card charged immediately.
I was just charged $34.95, but I was not trying to purchase anything. I was enrolling in courses and trying to download the starter materials. When I went back to the resource page, it may have mistakenly clicked on the floating box for the toolkit. However, I do not wish to purchase or be charged for anything at this time. Please assist with a refund at this time. The floating box is very obtrusive on the resource screen...not very customer-friendly layout...almost impossible to avoid a mistaken purchase.

I signed up for the free trial graphic arts program, on May 27/2020 after realizing I'd have to spend money to use the software I canceled on the 29th
So far I have canceled 2 times but it still says I'm active and another class has been added. I don't want any of the free trial classes, I was also charged 50 cents 6 times on the 27th for what I don't know. I want those funds returned and I want to be canceled from all free trials, I've emailed, called the number nothing happens. I do not want to be in any of the programs I am 3 days into a 30 day free trial and it is impossible to get a hold of anyone or have the status changed in my members area, it says in trial and premium. Please help me get back what is rightfully mine I have used none of the classes and I've only been signed up for 3 days.

I want my 6.00 back and I don't want to be charged for free trials vi have canceled 3 times now and will call again tomorrow.

The only way to cancel my free membership was through the phone. I did it a few hours to late thanks to their hours. And they are refusing a refund.
On Monday morning March 30th my free trial ended. I realized my 30 days was up last night. By the time I went to cancel my membership it was too late for me to call. Also didnt realize I couldn't delete my membership online I had to call. After them trying to persuade me so much I went a head and canceled, but that was this morning when it was too late. They had already processed my card. When I called it was all an automated service of which I couldn't actually talk to a person. I then had to email them to fully cancel my subscription. I sent them an email stating all that was going on even the fact of covid 19 and how its impacted my money situation and they denied me a refund. Theres no actual person to talk to.

Fraudulent cancellation policy. They do not honor or respond to cancellation requests and so the buyer ends up with fraudulent charges.
I signed up for SA on a 30-day free trial on Feb 29th, with my credit card for billing after the 30 days were over. On March 26th I accessed the site to cancel, but the website does not make cancellation possible. See attached screenshot for the final, useless, confirmation-less screen of the cancellation process. I contacted *** academy (there is NO phone number for this company) and received a vague response encouraging me to continue, and not in any way assisting in my request. Even though I responded and insisted on cancellation, my request for cancellation was not honored. On March 28th, I was charged 60 dollars for SA despite working to cancel it for the past two days. Please see attached screenshots of these fraudulent emails. I have since disputed the charge with my bank, but I need assurance that these scammers have deleted my information permanently, will never charge me again, and will refund their fraudulent charge of 60 dollars.

Desired Outcome

I would like Shaw Academy to remove ALL of my information permanently from their records and systems. I would like Shaw Academy to completely cancel my already fraudulent membership and never charge me again. Finally, I would like a refund of the 60.00 that I was charged, again FRAUDULENTLY, on March 28.

I got a message from them recently saying the subscription was finally cancelled, after lots of run around and excuses from them. I have not heard anything about it being extended to October 2020! Their email indicated it was cancelled, and said nothing about refunds for the fraudulent charges. They DID say they are giving me two more months on the site, which I DO NOT want. I am worried they are going to continue with this scam indefinitely. If they are extending the subscription until October, we have a real problem here. It is straight up thievery! I have all emails and documents here, attached below is the message of "cancellation" I received in early April. Thank you so much for your time! I appreciate your help!

Scammed by instituion with good chance of them doing it again and again.
I saw an ad on my social media channel for a free four-week trial in digital marketing that I was interested in. I looked up the reviews of academy and saw that they got good reviews from several peer-review websites, including trust pilot; so I decided to sign up and test it myself. One of the prerequisites was to record the credit card information; At the same time, the website stated that before you end your free trial, you will receive a reminder at least three days prior to the trial ending, but you could also also cancel your membershi any time (I never received a reminder email even though I decided to cancel my membership much earlier ). After my first session, I quickly found out that this course was not for me, and that I prefer a more intensive curriculum. Almost ten days before the trial was over, after which I had used my membership since the first session, I logged in to cancel. I navigated through the steps given to complete the cancellation, but found no exit button, I was only sent around in circles. I sent an email to the academy informing them of the problem and asking them to cancel my membership. The answer came a few days later and it was filled with a long, ambiguous and philosophical answer on how not to give up on dreams and goals. They did not address my wish for cancellation, it was simply ignored. In doing so, I sent another brief email asking them to release me from my membership. I got another long answer, but this time they gave me a link to their site where I can cancel it; which turned out to be the same place I used when I tried to cancel it. This caused me to send a third email reiterating the problem of not finding any cancellation option there, and that I wish to terminate my membership. Finally I got a definitive answer where they said that they can't find an active subscription nor my credit information, so I don't have to worry about canceling or being charged for anything. This gave me a brief relief, until I saw that the next morning my account was charged with $77. Which led to me sending three additional emails, and four-five comments on their social media channel which are either being ignored or deleted.

They did not cancel anything. I was compelled to block my card as they performed and unauthotized charge. My membership was confirmed inactive with no charges to be made on 19th of March 2020, but on 20th March money was taken from my account from them. And since that they've kept ignoring my emails. If l had not blocked my card they would've kept withdrawing money. They don't do anything aside from scamming money from people.

Organisation wont respond to the cancellation of a free trial and they have my card details
I responede to a Facebook ad for a "free Trial" of Social Media classes. The company then took my card details. Immediatly after this they tried to sell me a "toolkit" which I needed to do the "free" classes. I replied to thier DOZENS of texts saying CANCELL. They keep texting me. I do not want them to charge me for a "free" service which was not FREE

Charged for items I did not purchase and they will not cancel my account and it is prior to the trial ending by far.
Took trial course attended 2 out of 8 classes. I wanted to cancel as this was not valid education in my opinion. They wanted you to pay to get normal course materials and the diploma. I opted out online said I wanted to cancel. Then after that goes through it makes you call a number to verify. You call and 4 different recordings say "are you sure?" and attempt to guilt you and pressure you to stay. I still said no after each offer and it says "Okay now in order to cancel you must write and email to ***@shawacademy.com. I wrote to them detailing. They sent back a "response" saying nothing about my request but offering me "FREE hard copy diploma and 3 of the "toolkits" I sent another message telling them that I looked to be fair and those were NOT added on my account and that I don't wish to continue, just cancel me. They write AGAIN saying they are GIVING me these FREE just that I should continue. The account still doesn't show those and sure enough it still doesn't show that I cancelled my account. I write again saying no please just cancel the account I don't wish to continue. Then I checked my Paypal and see that they charged me $34.95 for materials that I did not order AND when I send an email about it I keep getting automated responses saying "Sorry we can't refund but we did GIVE you this and this and this" You never get a person and they plan to keep charging my Paypal though I definitely cancelled SEVERAL times.

I want my money refunded immediately and I want the account cancelled as I requested. I have no interest in doing business with this company. I am convinced that there are no actual people at this business. I have only every gotten automated responses. Also I found that the courses aren't officially accredited in the United States. They should not be allowed to do business.

Why is the date of cancelation 2 months later than the actual cancelation? Regardless, the school has neglected to admit that they have made mistakes and failed to correct things.Their business practices need to change.

It doesn't matter if they keep it open. I don't go over there and never will again. Just as long as I am not being charged.

They will not cancel my subscription and I feel they will charge my credit card. I've emailed them 6 times to cancel and I have had no response.
I signed up last week and decided that I cannot continue with the course, so I contacted them to cancel the subscription. They say you can only do it via phone, and then on the phone you have spend 10 minutes waiting to get to the cancellation email address to contact. Then I emailed them and received an ID number to cancel #XXXXXXX and then still no response, so I tried contacting again and I got a new number #XXXXXXX. I need this cancelled.
