They've refused to allowed me to cancel my free trial account that would allow me to not pay the full membership fee.
I signed up after seeing an ad for a free 60 day graphic design course. After realizing that it wasn't go-at-your-own-pace and they made you arbitrarily decide what time you could access the course material every week, meaning your online class where you view recorded content was only available twice a week at the time and day you at the beginning of the course, I decided to cancel.

The cancellation was a nightmare. I first had to confirm 7 different times that I did want to cancel as they tried to convince me to stay. I was then given a phone number they told me to cancel through, but it was only available at certain times, so I had to wait for working hours, but the whole phone call ended up being a recorded line with no human interaction.
I then decided to email them. I felt I shouldn't have to call to cancel. An automated person told me to cancel through the website which said to call that number after 7 more reconfirms that I didn't want their service.
I again had to confirm 7 times over 5 minutes that I didn't want their service. They switch up the number for confirming I didn't want their service so I had to listen to the recorded line's entire message.
Each time she said, if you would like to give up on your goals press this #. It was incredibly annoying since I clicked on randomly as an advertising link. I plan to learn graphic design through a company better able to gain and keep customers off the quality of their program.
At the end of the line, she then gave me an email to cancel with. I couldn't believe it. I still haven't sent the email, but it was such an unbelievably bad experience I had to let others know. I just wanted to ensure I didn't forget about it and accidentally pay the $60 automatic fee at the end of the free trial and their plan was to keep me around by annoying me beyond endurance.

I then emailed the email given to me by the recorded line and have received no email back. As of now I have an active account with no way to cancel.

Situation is resolved. They canceled my account as soon as I forwarded them the complaint I filed here.

I on 13th march 2020 registered on shaw acedemy just because they were providing free course so I was just looking into website and register for 0 charge one month free trial and added my debit card on their website I was browsing over the website and suddenly saw a message on my phone 500inr deducted from your account by shaw acedemy I was shocked as I didn't provided them otp and they without my consent deducted my money so I made a complaint to there email and they said you have purchased module e certificate which I dont even purchased and when I ask for refund they tried to explain me their terms and conditions..they try to provide me some more free kit to compensate and I dont want anything from them I had to block my card from the bank and file an fir against the fraud what just happened to me ..the company is a fraud company and they should be ban from all over the world they just loot the consumer ..and I want the shaw acedemy to refund my money back to my bank account or else I will go to indian government hope they get this message I need my money back

I signed up with this after I saw an ad on social media for a graphic design course. It advertised a free trial for 4 weeks and you can cancel any time. After signing up I read reviews and quickly realized this was a SCAM. I attempted to cancel within my account, but it said I had to wait 48 hours. I tried to email to cancel but got no response. 48 hours went by and I went back in to cancel. After it promoted me through almost 10 screens, it said I had to call to cancel. I called the number and it kept me on an automated line for over 5 minutes trying to convince me not to cancel. Finally, the recording said I had to send an email to cancel. So after giving me the run around, I sent an email. I got a response, not confirming cancellation but trying to tell me not to cancel. I REFUSE to pay for this as it was advertised as a free trial and now they make it so you can't cancel, this is robbery and a scam. I have no way to remove my card info from my account and they have no customer service to call. Anytime you try to call their phone numbers it either won't connect or says it's an internet line. The resolve I'm looking for is for cancellation of my account and not being charged, I am well within the 30 trial period as I signed up on 03/23/2020. PLEASE HELP ME!!! This 'company? is a scam

I tried a free membership offer because Im a Tmobile customer. I decided after the second class I wanted to cancel. However there is no actual cancel option. You click the lick saying to cancel which just offers you more courses for free. I kept choosing the cancel option only to be given a fake customer service number just like how the number on here is fake. It does the same thing it does online. I choose to cancel and it offers free course then at the end says to email ***@shawacademy.com but it bounces the email because it is fake. The number they provided on paypal is fake as well for some place in Ireland. I also tried the email paypal provided I want to cancel membership and permanently deactivate the account.

Shaw Academy charged me for the Certificate without any purchase confirmation and it happened right after I've registered for the 4-week free trial, even before I started any lessons. Appears button I've clicked to learn more about Certificate was 'one-click buy' but it didn't say so or gave any indication it is a buy button.

I received a charge to my bank account of $69.99 from Shaw Academy. I had never even heard of them, let alone purchased anything from them I had to Google them to find them. I sent an email to them and tried desperately to find a phone number to reach someone there, needing to know who they are and why/HOW they have gotten my banking information.I have had no response. Now I am having to file claims with my bank to get this money back and change all my banking information which is a huge inconvenience to say the least. I am beyond upset and very disappointed, when coming to their Revdex.com complaint page, I was able to note that (unfortunately) I am not the only person who has had bad experiences with this company. I am thankful for my bank and the protection they provide me, but highly upset with this company.

I accidentally purchased the toolkit for the graphic design course and would like a refund. The transaction happened on one accidental click, possible because of the one-click/one-purchase option which was hidden in their terms and conditions, and I was planning to cancel my courses and membership already. I emailed the company and they provided me with free additional class modules and a hard copy diploma but I never intended on participating in the class, I was simply going to review what was offered. The need for your card information stated that it was for the future should I extend my membership past the free trial and didn't warn of any additional supplies I would buy or be offered to me. In addition to this, I've been getting a default response from the company that seems to be their response to others with similar issues and I don't feel that an actual human is responding to me because I asked for a phone number and I keep getting the same type of response each time I send a reply. In all the emails I sent I did not receive a phone number of the company nor can I find one anywhere online so I have to rely on their automated emails. Finally, I recently tried to cancel my membership and the website doesn't seem to do anything after it tells me I've successfully canceled my membership. It stays the same as if I never canceled it and gives me the option to do it again, which I have multiple times and yet come to no different result. This is especially concerning considering the fact that I am in a free trial and would not like the membership to extend to the point of payment.

This company offers a free trial and does not allow cancellation of membership and automatically charges you without permission.
I sent an email to this company to cancel my membership. I tried their free trial and then found out I would not have time to do the courses. I have since sent 6 emails and made a phone call to them and have received no response or confirmation. I am now going to look into cancelling my debit card to prevent them from charging my account.

They will not let me cancel my account. I called to cancel but every representative was supposedly busy, then I emailed to cancel and was told to call, so I called again and was told to email to cancel. They are going to run me around in circles until my free trial ends so they can charge me.

I have been trying to cancel a subscription to this website, but after clicking no fewer than 8 links saying "I still want to cancel my subscription", I then get a page claiming I have to call to cancel the subscription. The problem is that I have not been able to get through to anyone to actually cancel the subscription. With all the job uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, I should be able to cancel a subscription online without having to play phone roulette.

I wanted the subscription canceled.

Shaw Academy has a system of one click to make purchases which they don't make very visible. I clicked on a link and got charged $29.99 and when I asked for a refund they wouldn't give it to me and supposedly extended my trial membership. My mistake so I took it on myself. However, I sent one last email to them to ask them to stop my membership and delete my account. I received no response. This morning I suddenly get two charges of $29.99 from Shaw Academy. I was on a client call and on my company google drive. So I was not on the Shaw Website and never authorized or clicked on anything that would make me buy anything from their website. I learnt that they tried to make three purchases of $29.99 from my Paypal without authorization and two purchases went through. I have sent numerous emails to them to get the second two charges of $29.99 reversed and have heard nothing. Shaw Academy is fraudulent and have places on there website that if you click you will get charged without any notice.

I have emailed them and they eventually refunded me only 2 out of the 3 classes worth of what they charged me.

What I would like is insights in how I can show that they are illegally creating a one click bait and switch with customers and creating havoc and time drain on our side.

At this point I do NOT want to pursue further as they have already taken a lot of time away from my work.

I have subscribed to 30 days trial class on March 19, 2020. I have not taken any class and have been cancelling it online. They ask to make a call at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX to complete cancellation. I called them many times but they don't answer the phone. I have emailed them at ***@shawacademy.com many times and they reply back saying they don't recognize my email. They are just not cancelling it. I don't want to take any classes and enroll with them ever in my life.

This is resolved now. But had a very bad expereince.

I signed up for a free 30 day trial to check out some online learning programs. After one class, I decided it was not for me and tried to cancel. I clicked on the calendar link on Shaw's website and doing that charged me $39 for a toolkit, although I did NOT click on the toolkit purchase link. I then tried to cancel my membership. I followed the link online, which led me to a phone number, which I called and followed the automated system, which then led me to email *** The response I got from them was to login to my online account and follow the steps- therefore starting the cycle again!

I signed up for Shaw Academy about a week ago. It was advertised as the first month free and then $69.99 thereafter. I signed up for a 16 week course. I intended to pay the $69.99 a month following my first month. However; I've now been charged 3 times $29.99 for items I did not order or want. When trying to communicate with their customer service rep Vladik, I would receive unhelpful emails and then no response. I have not been refunded any of my money, and now I'm concerned they are just going to keep charging my card. Their customer service is awful and very sporadic in responses. I canceled my membership today and will not finish the class now.

I recently found ShawAcademy on instagram as an advertisement on classes for kids. After further investigation, this is not for my kids.
Problem Date April 3rd 2020, Purchase Date March 31st 2020, Account Numbers (none), Payment amount is at a total of $2 as of right now.

Desired Outcome

I was looking for classes for my children during this COVID-19 crisis (preferably free or within a reasonable cost as I am currently under financial strain). I signed up on March 31st. Then I received a phone call from someone in NY on April 2nd 2020 about the course. She was asking me questions and I said how this was just for my kids (Coding for kids with a picture of a kid). She kept talking about the course being important to me. Despite the fact that I just said it was for my kids. After the call, I just felt as though this was not an avenue for my kids and I best look for other curriculum online. I went online and checked my banking. I was charged 4 times ($1) each time and then refunded twice ($1 each time). Which was incredibly strange to me. All of this at this point has/had left a bad feeling and I didn't want to sign on any longer. So I went online to cancel. I clicked through 7 times and got to an eventual phone number. I called. It had 3 different questions/promotions to cancel. Using words like "or if you wish to give up on your goals press 4". Which again really only reiterated my dislike with their advertisement geared towards kids. I finally got to a message that stated to email ***@shawacademy.com. I started to write the email and simultaneously check their reviews. Which only unsettled me even more. They state you can cancel but have made it next to impossible for not only myself but for many others. I am now an hour in after phone calls, emails and now this trying to make sure I don't get charged more than the $2 at this point. We are literally in a pandemic where parents are just trying their best to educate their children and a company who is taking advantage of that and not being entirely transparent with what their cancelation process is. I am 100% not okay with them having my credit card information even after the fact and that adds more discomfort and work having to potentially contact my credit card company to change my card. I want this resolved, I have gone through many companies in my life and have never come across one so eager to take your credit card information and not give you a clear path to cancel. My complaint is that I want to cancel. I want the company to email me with confirmation of that cancellation and my account to no longer exist. Thank you.

Shaw academy offered a free 30 day trial with certificate. I clicked the link and signed up. After signing up, I saw the classes would not suit my needs and decided to immediately cancel my trial (less than 30 mins after putting in my credit card information.) There is no way to cancel on the website, and as I was looking around to try to cancel I noticed my credit card was charged for FIVE "authorization" charges of 50cents each as well as $29.99 for a diploma! I did not authorize that many charges or the diploma. I emailed customer support as well as billing with no response, and the information they have provided me on Facebook says they don't refund for diplomas- even though I had been a member less than 1 hour and had not even taken a single class yet (first class would have been 3/23) - yet they want to charge for a diploma I did not order that was supposed to be part of the free promotion.I want them to CANCEL my trial so I am not charged and REFUND the $29.99 for the certificate and the $2.50 for the FIVE authorization charges.

I accepted their free 4 week course but I wanted to cancel a few days after. I have sent countless emails. That say I have to call, but the calls end up telling me I have to email them to confirm. There's no way I can talk to a live person. And I'm trying to cancel this subscription before I get charged. This has been going on for days now.

I am just happy someone responded. Continuous calls and never got an answer, it would eventually just hang up on me. So happy I don't have to deal with it anymore. Thank to Revdex.com for helping me resolve this issue before they started charging me.

They are committing theft and fraud with a scam of signing up for a free trial and then making it impossible to cancel membership.
They were offering a free month trial for an online course and then after the they will charge $69.99 a month. They explained that we could cancel any time before the trial is over and not be charged. Two days into the program, I wanted to cancel my membership because I didn't want them to continue messaging me and wasn't liking the products. When I tried to cancel my account online, it took me through a guilt trip on if you cancel you won't be successful. I continue pressing the button that says "yes, I want to cancel". At the end it says to cancel and confirm cancellation call a number ((XXX) XXX-XXXX). Once I call the number, the selections take me in more circles and guilt trips trying not to cancel. After continuing to stay firm in my decision, there was no live person to talk to and there's just a recording saying "to cancel membership, you have to contact us through email". The company is a complete scam and I am not the only one they are doing this to. I had to change my debit card because there was absolutely no way to cancel my membership. They are advertising themselves on Instagram and scamming a lot of people. They need to be stopped. They have negative reviews online saying the same thing.

I wish to have the peace of mind that my account is finally canceled and that they aren't going to find ways to find me and charge me and continue to scam me and others.
