I signed up for a free trial of their service and will be automatically billed on April 14th. However, they are not letting me cancel my subscription and have not responded to my numerous requests to cancel.Their app has a section to cancel subscriptions that is supposed to be active after 48 hours. It has been 48 hours and I'm still not able to cancel using their app. Also, they charged me 50 cents even though it's supposed to be a free subscription. I cannot afford to be fraudulently billed. There are numerous complaints on their Facebook about people being billed even after they cancel their subscriptions.

I had signed up for a free 4 week course to Shaw Academy through Tmobile. I had to add my card to do the 4 week trial so I did so it asked me if I wanted to purchase some tool kit for the course and I clicked no. Shortly after I had got a notification saying I can unlock my free tool kit that came with the course for my trial. I clicked on it and then it stated that I had purchased the packet. I went to look into my account and they pulled the money out $29.99. I have emailed them 6 times and I am getting no response. I cant find another way to contact them other then email.

Hello,Yesterday I signed up for several Shaw Academy courses when I was sent a link to a monthly free trial by a friend. The courses itself seemed to be alright however, when I checked my bank statement, I saw 5 $1 charges as well as a charge for $34.95, the price of a module toolkit. I did not authorize any of those charges as there were no prompts or confirmations. After emailing, I was told a refund would be impossible and when checking my bank statement again I saw yet another UNAUTHORIZED charge of $34.95 and two more $1 fees, totaling up to $76.90 in fees in less than 24 hours!!I explained that I need the refund because I lost my job due to COVID-19 and I was met, disappointed, with no response. This is highly unacceptable.

I signed up for Free Shaw Academy 4 Week Course to see what it was all about. Upon immediate signup I was billed $34.95. I started reading about all the negative reviews online and decided to cancel before even taking the course. The online website will not let me cancel, and customer service is non existent. I problay won't ever get my money back. I am reporting this to my bank now as fraud. Don't give these people your card information. They will exploit it and charge you for everything they can. Stay away!

I stupidly created two accounts with Shaw, with the intention of seeing which course I liked, and immediately canceling the other. What a mistake. This problem encompasses *** categories above. First, when signing up for a free trial, I have photo evidence that says you can cancel at any time. The advertising was very misleading and once logged in, was aggravated to see you still had to pay $30 to access every individual lesson and $30 for a certificate per lesson. At $60 per lesson, and 8-10 lesson per course, this is far from 'free'. I immediately knew I did not want my trial, and proceeded to cancel. For two days I was told online that I couldn't because my membership was processing (already false advertising of company policy). I then emailed from both emails I created accounts with, to be repeatedly blown off by Marcas. All they do is shove sales at you about how you don't know what you really want, and close the ticket. I keep reopening it, but this is still not resolved. I am now able to try to cancel it online. When doing so, the system badgers you about your regrets with a battery of questions, only to tell you to call a number that does not work. Coincidentally, Marcas finally told me today to call the number for help. Between false advertising, abysmal customer service, and the inability to cancel though EXTENSIVE efforts even though you should be able to cancel 'any time', I am furious. I am calling my bank to ensure that they are not able to take a penny from me after my trial, because I do not trust that they will fully resolve this. I would like the Revdex.com to assist in getting both accounts cancelled. I want proof of cancellation of both accounts from Shaw for my records. As mentioned, looking through other complaints filed here, I do not believe they will truly cancel it and will lie about it to close the ticket. I would like proof for my records, and will still try to contact my bank as a backup, as there is not an option to simply remove a payment type from the account. This way, if they were to charge me, I have further evidence of their negligence as a business. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi have been trying to reach out to them because I was supposed to get a free 4 week course. When I clicked on items to see what they even were I charged money and been charged numerous times a 50 cents charge to test my card. When I do get ahold of someone I am told very basic information and that they will not refund. I was told I will get a credit I haven't seen but if I cancel then I don't have access to anything. I didn't want to be charged in the first place and if I keep it open to use the credit I will continue to be charged the monthly fee. I am not happy or satisfied with this company. No one answers all of my questions and I'm just over it. I want all of my money back and my account cancelled.

They lure people to sign up with a 4 week free trial but unlike normal websites this free trial they make almost impossible to cancel! They justify requiring credit card details for the free trial so users don't abuse and have multiple free trials but really it's so they have you trapped as then if you don't (as it's virtually impossible to cancel) they charge your card. Also to be fair it's also not really a free trial as all material has to be purchased if you want them. Overall, the business practices of this company give online education platforms a bad reputation. If they are a legit business make it possible to cancel online with just 2/3 clicks not led around in circles. This is the standard business practice of other online education providers they let you cancel easily with 2/3 clicks.

Company closed my account by cancellation. I still feel they should improve their business practice. Improve their customer service as per all negative feedback online. They should also be an honest company and make it possible to cancel at a click of a button instead of leading through a process to cancel online, then asking you to call and loads of automated messages until they finally say email to cancel.

To whom it may concern,I am deeply concerned by and disappointed in the way Shaw Academy's Billing Department staff, namely 'Patrick ' is handling a matter pertaining to a refund of an unauthorised charge of ï49.99 during what should have been a 6 month free membership period.To elaborate, I signed up to their free 1 month trial programme on 7th December 2019. On the 8th of January 2020, ï49.99ï was taken from my account as I had missed the cancellation deadline by 1 day.I initially requested a refund on the 8th January, as I hadn't accessed a single class in this period, and hoped as a gesture of good will, it would be granted. It was refused by Patrick under the T&Cs that I had agreed to, so I didn't challenge this and just required the membership to be cancelled. Instead of cancellation, I was rail-roaded into accepting, as recompense, 6 months free membership. One I was very reluctant to accept and did not require. Moving forward, only 2 months has lapsed and I have received a subsequent charge of 49.99.ïNo payments should have been taken between February 2020 and July 2020. To add, paid subscriptions should have recommenced no sooner than 8th August 2020. This is not in line with Section 5 of the Shaw Academy Terms of Use:"1. Billing Cycle. The membership fee for our service will be billed on a on a recurring basis in accordance with your membership plan. You will be billed to your Payment Method on the calendar day corresponding to the commencement of your paid membership."I have been in dialogue with Patrick via several emails and despite my efforts to challenge this unethical and unlawful acquisition of monies, The refund has been denied and once again I'm being rail-roaded into accepting another membership offer.I am finding Patrick's approach to customer care highly offensive, passive *** and very stressful.I have pre- existing health conditions which are exacerbated by stress and anxiety and this situation is doing just that. This matter needs to be resolved promptly as it's causing me significant distress and inconvenience. should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to ask

I have tried multiple time to cancel my membership before the trial was over. I went thru the steps to cancel my membership up to phoning the number to cancel. Each time I have phoned the number to cancel it goes thru the voice directory about business hours and then hangs up on me. There are no options to speak an actual person. I've tried this during business hours on other days and had no luck. I never used the academy during the trial and have no intent in using the academy for the monthly cost. I've also sent an email to support requesting a refund and cancellation of my membership. The response I received was the exact same that other people who have filed complaints about this business have received stating they will not refund my money and will give me a 6 month membership at no extra cost.

I tried to cancel a course (the subject matter was not what I expected) and the website glitched and interpreted my selection as "Purchase the Toolkit". There was no verification message, it went straight to charging my credit card. I contacted the customer service email yesterday (as the company has no listed phone number; which is concerning in hindsight) and received a response today. They gave me a whole spiel about why the toolkit is important and how I made a commitment to my education so I should follow through on those promises. Then they said they gave me a $199 credit so I can purchase the remaining courses' toolkits. I was very clear that I do not want a credit, I want a full refund.

Unfortunately I signed up for Shaw Academy's "free trial" without googling the company first. I was immediately dissatisfied with the course content, it's delivery, the constant bombardment to spend more money within the program, and the spammy amount of texts and email I began receiving right after signing up. I followed the steps to cancel my trial, at the end of which you are asked to phone a number to "confirm your cancellation". I have called this number dozens of times at all times of the day and it is never answered! If I log back into my account it says nothing about my account pending cancelation and after reading other reviews of this company I am sure they are going to continue charging me despite my having attempted to cancel my account as per their directions, as well as writing them several (unanswered) emails requesting cancellation.

Signed up for free 30 day trial account after multiple attempts of contacting the company to cancel my membership before being charged for the service and wasn't given any reply or confirmation of the cancellation. The company then went ahead and tried to charge the full amount of the course after I repeatedly tried to contact them to cancel the account, through their given 'support team'. It's a scam of the highest degree.

The business advertises a free one month trial membership with the ability to cancel your membership at any time. They require you to enter credit card information to complete registration. Once I was all signed up and ready to begin my free trial I decided I did not want to continue my membership and I decided to cancel. In order to cancel my membership I had to click through 5 separate links to confirm I wanted to cancel my membership and after that I was told that in order to actually cancel my membership I needed to call this number. The calling service is only available for limited hours. After I had called this number I was hung up on repeatedly. After finally getting ahold of this calling service I selected to have a representative call me back. Once I was called back I was told everyone was busy. I have yet to be actually contacted. It is in my opinion this business is making it unnecessarily difficult to cancel my account to prolong my membership and collect money because of it.

I applied for a free trial with Shaw Academy on 28th February for a four week Digital Marketing Course. I quickly realised that I did not want to continue with the course and attempted to call the company to cancel my subscription. I found that the lines were always 'busy' or I had an automated message saying I could have a call back. I opted for this but the call back was another automated answer saying all lines were busy and then cut the line. I tried numerous times to get through but to no avail. Shaw academy then took 69.99 from my bank account and I had to ring Fraud Department to stop any further payments leaving my account. I've tried emailing but all I get from a member of staff called Parnel, is further offers of the course at a drastically reduced price. I don't want this, I just want a refund. End of.

Subscribed for a 4 weeks FREE TRIAL (like I did a hundred times at many others places without any problem). I tried 2 lessons, found it was not what I was looking for and wanted to cancel my membership before they charge me.When you want to unsubscribe, they ask you to click of different versions of the phrase : Yes I want to cancel. After clicking a bunch of time, you finally get a message that you need to call to confirm your cancellation. This is absolutely ridiculous, I shouldn't have to call for that, but I did. They number either not work or is busy, I never was able to get the line. I tried to remove my credit card number from my account but on the mobile app, I can't load the payment page, it just never shows. I went on the web base and was finally able to get to the payment option but I CAN'T remove my card without adding another valid one.So basically, I CAN'T UNSUBSCRIBE. I am still in the 4 weeks of free trial and I want to cancel it before it ends. And of what I heard, even if you cancel, they still charge you! I sent an email saying clearly that I want to cancel my membership right now (as the date of today, March 23)

After signing up for the supposed "free" course, I was presented an offer to get an add'l toolkit for $29.99. Small price to pay for bonus materials! Then I learned ALL the modules do this...AND You have to pay $50 to get the certificate! 1 app reviewer spent nearly $300! Everybody complains of not being able to get ahold of them or receive refunds! I emailed them twice and eventually found a contact form that was buried hidden deep on their site if filed a complaint they're submitting it twice and I have yet to hear back anything whatsoever!Here at Revdex.com as well as the app download people are complaining saying they would cancel it the same or the next day and they would still get charged or when they finally got a hold of them they would say they couldn't find the account but then days later they would find it and reactivate it so I'm going to have to end up reporting my card lost or stolen to avoid being charge which would be false and unethical!I'm a disabled vet on a fixed income and I've had family members laid off from the coronavirus and was simply looking for a free course and not the hassles worrying about these charges that seem to be almost required in order to successfully complete set 8 modules in 4 weeks!

While I can verify my account is canceled in the app, the charge of $59.99 has not been refunded to my account. The request to cancel was sent well in advance of the trial period being over. To fully resolve this matter, I need a refund of the amount charged.

Refund has finally processed. This has taken way too long. I definitely do not recommend this program to anyone.

I saw an ad for Shaw Academy's social media course on facebook , and it was for free. I noticed they said you could cancel right away, if you wanted. Well, I immediately began receiving a plethora of phone calls, text messages and emails about the course. I wanted to cancel asap. When I attempted to do so , they said wait 48 hours. I waited over 72 hours before I was able to attempt to cancel from the page, but then it said I had to call a cancellation phone number. I was unable to cancel because every time that you attempt to cancel, they are unavailable. I would say that it has to do with the covid19, but its not preventing them from conducting classes or emailing me obsessively regarding course. They've even called me, and the rep rudely informed me that she wasn't with the cancellation department. She even refused to transfer me. It shouldn't be this hard to cancel a course that I was told I could cancel at anytime. It won't allow me to remove my payment information, so I believe they are going to try to charge my card no matter what!
