The movie ticket prices are high as *** in Canada, when they launched in Canada, it would be a pity not to sign upI pay $for two movie tickets each month, one of them can be used toward IMAX, dBOX, ULTRA AVX or screenings like thatIt's working well for me or anyone who wants to do saving on movies or going outThe app is okay, and the customer service is not perfectBut overall, it's a corking service

HorribleCheater and fraud company
I subscribed for monthly membership with no commitment, but these guys charge me for annual feesWhen I asked to cancel my subscription and return my balance, they declinedWhat is the point of getting a non commitment monthly plan when you will have to pay the full year fees and cannot cancel whenever you want?
At the time I bought the subscription, I received a message stating that I will get my credit card in a week or 2, but there is a fees to expediate the shipment of the cardI decided to wait for the card for couple of weekNow it's been months I have not yet received my cardWhen I asked for the card, I have received the response that I subscribed for the non card option and if I want the card, then it will be a $fees for the card
I never got any indiaction at the time of subscription that they will charges an additional charge for using there non card based service for convenience fee, but since they don't want to give you the card, I am forced to use the non card based service to watch any movie and they do charge $per movieThis is a fraud company who does not give you clear indication at the beginning and later on once you got stuck, they will apply different kind of charges to watch any movie
Customer support is horribleNot sure if they have any English speaking support or non English speaking supportNo matter how clearly you describe your problem, you will always receive a negative response
I would highly recommend to stay away from the membership of this companyI would rather pay full price per movie rather than using this company

Has not sent card / Family plan is misleading
I signed up for the annual Family Plan and was activated on 9/20/I've attempted to contact Sinemia multiple times and haven't heard back
Family Plan: It was not made clear that signing up for a Family Plan would entail both users seeing the movie together, and that one user seeing it by themselves would count towards the twoI've asked for my annual plan to be transferred to two individual plans and have heard nothing back
Card not sent: The debit card to purchase tickets has not been sent, as promised in agreementsInstead, I'm forced to purchase tickets online and pay a fee

when I signed up for this service I was under the impression that I would be billed monthlyThey billed for the whole year at time $
I then found out that there was an additional fee to purchase the ticketsI sent e mails to cancel the serviceThey deactivated the service but never sent a refundThey will not respond to e mails or phone callsI just want my $to be refunded

I have not received my card, and they do not respond to email They only have a q&a that tells you to download the new app for cardless use, but that app never appears in the Playstore! I am still trying to get a response and a card for my "Premium" membershipI will file a complaint if there is no resolution but I am trying to wait longer for them to respond

At first, Sinemia seemed like a good service and alternative to MoviepassHowever, after being a member for less than a month, I *** honestly say that in many ways, it's much worse than Moviepass *** a downright scam of a businessFirst of all, when you sign up, it isn't disclosed openly that you're going to be charged numerous BS fees like convenience fees, that Moviepass *** charged forSecondly, I thought the customer support at Moviepass *** bad, but at Sinemia, it's legendarily horribleIt takes longer to receive a customer response from Sinemia than it is for me to get an appointment at the DMVIronically, they respond faster through Twitter than via email communicationRecently, I forgot to check into a theater after purchasing a ticket and now I'm being charged a misuse fee equivalent to the value of my movie ticketI sent them an email and twitter with proof that I actually did attend the movie, so let's see how long it takes for them to reply and which communication method they use to reply to meI should not have to be charged any misuse fees for a simple oversightIt's not like I'm trying to purchase a ticket and not show up to the movie, which I think is that the chefeature is designed to preventI may revise my review to a higher rating if I get my misuse fee reimbursed/canceled

They blocked my account and are trying to charge me for the ticket I boughtThey said it's because I did not check inHowever, I actually did click the check in button when it poped out in the app But Sinema said "their app works smoothly " to refused to admit it's a glitch in the app
To prove I did check in, I also provided the movie ticket that printed in the theater but they just ignored itTheir App works really bad most of timesIt happened to me many times that I clicked the check in button but nothing happened! Instead of blaming it falsely to the customer you should do a better job to improve your App and provide a better customer service! Very disappointed experience! If they do not restore my account I will report this to the California Attorney General office! They should be punished

I have reached out to Sinemia via emails, tweets and DM's, and through three different twitter accounts After a month, the finally responded with a form letter indicating that they would not address my issues, and which also contained incorrect information I have yet to get another response or the addressing of my actual issue
They cut off my cardless service after I did not check inHowever, the problem was that half of the time the credit card numbers that they provide didnt work, so my wife couldnt buy a ticket to the same movie that I had just bought a ticket for....so we could not go We couldnt cancel the transaction inside the 3rd party app we used to buy the ticket We cancelled the transaction too many times inside the SInemia app, in order to get more credit card numbers, and eventually just got stopped by the Sinema app and told we could not make more cancellations in an attempt to buy an actual ticket
Now my cardless option is disabled, Sinemia never sent me a physical credit card, and now they are asking me to pay $for this card which they promised me for free, asking me to pay $for the "missed" movie which I tried to cancel but failed because their app is terrible, and will not respond to my customer service inquiry

Service never available for advertised price
This company provides a certain number of movie viewings for a certain price
In the last six weeks I have tried to use the service and it gets declined EVERYTIME (except once) Each time it's declined I email their provided "service" department where I'm provided with a standard "try now, we've resolved the issue"
I shrug my shoulders and think, ok, we will see Then I go to another movie a week later, and I get the same result I'm now up to my forth experience with this service not working I have a screen grab showing the error, but I don't see a place on here to upload I have emailed their terrible "support" email, but I know nothing different is going to happen

This is the second complaint that I have made against this companyIn the beginning, when I signed up back in july, I was told that I would receive a physical card in a week if I paid $plus $i would get my physical cardI waited but a physical card never showed up because sinema decide to go cardless which did not work from the beginningIt was a nightmareNow, sinema has decided, in their infinite wisdom to bring back the physical card at another charge of $with a lot of hidden charges as wellAlso, I have to wait another days for the cardI have had it with this "company"I want to close my account but they wont let me

I have been trying to contact a customer rep for over weeks via FB, email, and their web site but there has been no reply

Lack of customer service and on going changes, not for the better is the reason my husband and I canceled our other movie service plan
The reviews before joining sinemia were positive but now we in the same boat again

My spouse and I were enjoying the service for a couple of months until we ran into an issueWe purchased an advanced ticket for a movie 1+ week prior to the show timeThe day of the movie, we found our showtime had been canceledWe received no notification from the theater or from SinemiaWe tried to book another showing with Sinemia but were unable to because the app assumed we already had a ticket and you ***'t have two at the same timeWe called the theater and thankfully they refunded us the movie ticket, but no one from Sinemia replied to our email to refund the Sinemia processing fee or convenience feesMy husband sent multiple messages on Twitter trying to get this resolved for weeks, and they simply did not understand the issue or refused to acknowledge that we were due a refund, so we decided to initiate a credit card chargeback for the processing fee or convenience fees (it was my husband's credit card)Sinemia has a rule that they will suspend accounts that chargeback, so our account was suspendedWe requested they either refund the remaining portion of our annual fee OR reactivate our accountAfter more long delays in responses from Sinemia, our bank ruled in our favor and credited us the feesMy husband notified them of this on 12/5/18, and on 12/6/Sinemia then said "in order for us to re-activate your account, you should send us the letter provided by your bankAfter that we will re-activate your account and you will be able to use your Sinemia membership." We provided the letter from the bank on the same day, 12/6/They did not respond, so we contacted them again on 12/8/We contacted them again on 12/11/after no responseWe again contacted them today 12/13/After this many days without a resolution, we've decided we have to make this complaint here at the Revdex.comWe did not want toWe tried to contact Sinemia over and over againWe followed all their instructions in a timely mannerNow, after paying the annual fee for two people, we've been unable to use my account for well over a monthThose unused tickets are now lost foreverThe only fair resolution is to either Reactivate our account AND refund us for one month of membership OR Refund the remaining months of our annual membership starting from the date of the disputeIf they refuse to do so, we will be forced to contact an attorney to ensure we are dealt with fairlyAgain, we don't want to do so and have tried to avoid it, but now we're left with no other choice if they do not respond in short order
So in short, the service was good when it workedIf something goes wrong, Sinemia is simply not able to correct it as you *** see from the many other reviews posted here and elsewhere

I used the app for couple of months with no processing or convenience fee (as none are charged by the theater chain I use)Now 1.80$ processing fee started in last month
If terms and conditions said only movie ticket is covered, how *** new processing fee show up when it was not part of expenses by Sinemia for last few months?
So, basically new fee is being charged under the guise of 'processing fee' though it was not necessary in the first few months
