Better Business...

Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I don't have a problem with the resolution but I've been hearing this same response since the end of May.  First they said a check had been mailed, then they claimed it had been put back in my checking account.  I haven't received the refund either way. Please don't close the case until you hear back from them that the money has truly been refunded and I can verify that I've received the refund. Thanks.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/02/13) */
A refund in the amount of $81.29 was sent on January 28, 2016. I apologize any frustration with our customer service.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 9, 2016/02/16) */

I am sorry that our services have changed.  The Friday and Wednesday issues will no longer be included with your delivery schedule.  Thursday and Sunday deliveries along with your special discounted subscription rate will not be affected.  You can continue to receive the same service...

for $.50 a week or a 7 day subscription for the low rate of $3.00 per week.Thank you reading the Pioneer Press.

I am rejecting this response because: This is the same response over and over. It is like a broken record. I repeat, this is NOT the Bulldog Bargain product that I'm receiving. I am receiving the daily Newspaper to which I have never ever subscribed. The Pioneer Press is in denial. I wish they would just admit that they are inadvertently delivering the daily Newspaper to my driveway. Then we can work towards a solution with starts by notifying the delivery driver that they are delivering a daily newspaper to the wrong property. Please. Let's start by getting the Pioneer Press to admit they are inadvertently delivering their daily newspaper to my address occasionally. Then we can work to find a solution. Up until now they keep saying it is some Bulldog Bargain which it is NOT. Stop littering my driveway with your daily Newspaper.

I am sorry that this is not resolved yet.  There is no excuse for the paper not to be delivered to your address.  I have involved our Operations Manager for assistance.  Please feel free to reach out to me directly, Sharon @###-###-#### if the matter is not resolved this week.

I have processed this refund.  It will go back to your credit card ending in [redacted] next week.  I apologize for the delay, the refund request was incomplete, I've completed and released it.

The delivery of the paper will be stopped and the invoice has been deleted.  My apologies for this error.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/10/08) */
According to our records your last payment came out on September 3 and a stop was put on the account Spetember 4 (although the stop was entered on September 2 it takes 2 days to take effect). I apologize for the delay, a refund was processed on...

October 2.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/07) */
There are notes on the account that the account was flagged for a refund in the amount of $32.21 on 9/17/15. It was sent, apparently to a wrong address.
I will find out where the check went and get it refunded to the address noted on this...

complaint.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/02/11) */
WHY? I am due a refund! I only keep getting the run around. They said they put it back into a Visa card - an old one, so a paper check was to be mailed. It never was! I never rec'd a refund!
I am due my money back, with interest too!!!!
It is terrible how a company can keep your money for items never rec'd and tell you they are working on it, takes a long time, it was sent to you. I NEVER REC'D THE REFUND!!
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2016/02/12) */
This is a bit confusing. Our records indicate that a refund in the amount of $32.21 was sent on 9/17/15. The account further states that it was refunded to a credit card on file but the card was no longer valid so a check was mailed, apparently to a wrong address. I will reach out to our AP department to see when/if the check was mailed and if it was cashed. I will use the address noted on this form, 3105 35th Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55406 for the address. I will get this refund sent.

This offer was for new subscribers and it looks like the account was active at the time of this special offer.  I see notes on the account that someone changed your rate and wants a gift card sent, I will honor this request and a gift card notification will be sent to the email you provided...

([redacted]@yahoo.com)  this week.

I am rejecting this...

response because:
The Pioneer Press is missing the point.  Their advertising does not state those special offers are for new subscribers only.  They had no right to reject my initial purchase at Menards and to add insult to injury they didn't even bother to tell me they rejected it.  I found out weeks later from their subcontractor after bumping into him at another store.  My carbon copy from Menards sale did not say anything about current subscribers not being eligible.  I read the fine print on both sides of the printed receipt.  What I wanted was the offer they ran in the 12/18/16 BullDog Bargains Pioneer Press which was $26 for 52 weeks, including home delivery Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday, plus access to the e-Edition, plus a $20 gift card, promo code GFTCRD16.  I still have the printed copy of the advertisement the Pioneer Press ran.  When I went to web site specified days before the 12/31/16 expiration (Twinoffers,com/deal/July 2016), that offer wasn't accessible, but more expensive subscriptions were.  I saved the screen prints.  I also Googled the "Twinoffers" ad and discovered someone else complained on the Internet saying the Pioneer Press didn't honor the offer when they originally ran it back in July either.  Besides the great deal, that offer specified a bill would be mailed to the delivery address.  That's my preference over giving out a credit card number over the phone to someone I don't know or over the Internet.  The paper is running bogus ads that they are not honoring.  I believe its called "bait and switch" and I have a feeling its unlawful in Minnesota.  If need be, I will contact the MN Attorney Generals Office next.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/09/24) */
Our records show that a refund in the amount of $16.94 was process on 9/17/15. I also checked the records to make sure you were given all the credits from missing newspapers from 9/7 to 9/12 (the paper was stopped on 9/13) Credits were issued...

9/9, 10 & 12 but I do not see credit issued for 9/8 and 9/11 which totals $.44. I can send that to you if you wish. I will mail you a copy of your service history from your last payment to you stop date. I apologize for the difficulties getting through to our customer service center and for the lack of a return call, we need to do better in both these situations.
I am sorry we lost a good customer and hope in the future you might reconsider.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/09/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are requesting the amount due of $.44. We also have not received the service history from 01/01/2015 - 9/13/2015. We have all the dates on record of when credits should have been made throughout the year and feel we did not receive these credits. For many years we have received a full year subscription starting in December of each year. For these many years there has been no lapse in service. Why all of the sudden was our subscription ending in October? We have not got our questions answered!! Also, we have been receiving recent phone calls to subscribe and many attempts letting them know to TAKE US OFF YOUR CALLING LIST! We DO NOT want anymore calls from the Pioneer Press. Maybe this is a situation one of the news stations needs to investigate!
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/10/07) */
I will mail the $.44 to you. Your service history was sent last week and I will add your phone number to our do not call files. I do apologize for your poor experience.

I am rejecting this response because: I will accept it because I called them that day requesting yet again not to be contacted or billed. Perhaps they took it seriously. Thank you for your follow-up

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/04) */
I apologize for the missing newspapers as well as the troubles associated with our call center. We had a change in distribution and did not anticipate fully the increased calls because of this change. I checked your account to be sure all...

credits for missed editions had been applied. The service in Eagan is starting to improve so we hope to gain your subscription back in the future.

There seems to be some confusion on this account. As of July 30, 2015 we have you transferred from [redacted] in Cn Rapids to [redacted] in Woodbury. Are you in Cn Rapids or Woodbury, either one I can help with...

your delivery. Please let me know, Sharon [redacted].
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/08/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes THE ACCOUNT WAS transferred to the woodbury address.
Delivery of PP WSJ and ST are by the same individual, and it is inconsistent at best.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/08/14) */
I am sorry that you are still having inconsistent service. All newspaper products are delivered by one person now. I will forward your complaint to them to ensure that you are not missed moving forward.

There is no active subscription at this address, I have requested that the Bulldog Bargain TM not be delivered here either.  This address is coded not to allow any starts or sample papers. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The invoice was sent in error to Mr. [redacted],  I apologize.
