Review: On June 1, 2015 I filed a police report with the [redacted] Police Department as well as filed an FTC Identity Theft Affidavit with the credit bureaus. During this time another collection agency had this "[redacted]" account in collections. I informed them that the address that they claimed was on the bill in Boise (they never validated anything in writing as requested) was an address that I had never lived at. In fact, I was living over 900 miles away and have proof of it (multiple proofs actually). That collection dropped off my credit report and per my police report and fraud affidavit that I sent the previous company they were by law required to immediately stop collection, delete it from my credit (unless they could prove it was mine, which was never done), and they were not authorized to sell the debt. This is federal law. So I was shocked when I seen this collection agency pop up tonight.....Months later while checking my credit report which I do on a weekly basis now.
To my surprise, I have also never received any written correspondence from this company prior to them showing up on my credit report. So you have bought a debt that is not legally collectable as it was identity theft and you legally cannot be reporting this on my credit report. This should have been solved with the last collection agency. Should you choose not to cooperate with this I will be sure to contact the credit bureaus and request a block which I am legally entitled to and you won't be able to report anyways, so let's make it easy for both of us. You have also clearly violated the FCRA by not properly notifying me via mail of this collection. I do have legal counsel who I am working with currently and I am willing to provide my police report and FTC affidavit showing that even the residence that is on the "bill" or claimed by the last collection agency is NOT mine. I have never lived there and I have never done business with [redacted].Desired Settlement: Remove this from all of my credit reports immediately and do not sell it to another agency. I am going to seek legal recourse against the previous collection agency who you got this debt from illegally. I suggest that if you don't want to be sued for the one FCRA violation I've already got you on and for further defamation of character that you remove it promptly from my credit reports.

Review: Stellar Recovery Inc received my unpaid balance for comcast. I paid Stellar Recovery in the amount of 280.00 for my bill from Comcast which was 255.00. I first of all was overcharged and this was paid back in Feb 2015. We requested a paid in full which was never sent. This charge is still on my credit report as a result and never removed.Desired Settlement: Correction to credit report with this charge deleted and a letter stating paid in full. Otherwise it will become a legal matter

Review: Recently I purchased a new cell phone from AT&T. This issued me a new number [redacted]. Since I have had this new number, I continue to get debt collection calls for someone named [redacted]. I have advised that this is a new cell phone number issued by AT&T, it is not [redacted]'s cell phone number and to remove this number from your database. To date Stellar has not removed my number from their database.Desired Settlement: I would like for Stellar to remove this number from their database.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of an inquiry made by [redacted]. Our records do indicate that the phone number of [redacted] was provided as a contact number by a client for a consumer with the name of [redacted]. On 8-15-2015, our records show that we attempted to contact that number, an agent spoke with someone who informed we had the wrong number. The agent removed the number from our system and placed the number into our internal do not call list. We apologize for the one call made to a wrong number. Our agent properly processed the wrong number in our system.
Review: I received a notification that this company reported a collection on my credit. After the collection is reported to my credit then I received a letter in the mail stating I owe the money for a Comcast bill. I was never notified in writing that there was an outstanding debt, and I never received a phone call. I contacted them to see about resolving this to get more information and they claim it is for a Comcast bill that was never paid. I asked them to delete it because it was not my account and I had no knowledge of it and they never properly followed procedures for communication. They stated they would not, then I contacted Comcast directly and they state that I have no past due accounts with them and have no collections with them.. I currently have 2 businesses and 2 residences with Comcast with no late payments or collections. However this company wants to negatively put it against my credit that I with them money for collection that does not exist. I requested that they send proof that I owe Comcast money, when Comcast could not even prove it. They said they would email it to me right then and there, and I never got it. I believe this company is a scam and is out to ruin people's credit and trying to collect debts that are not due to them. The account in question is reference number [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like them to remove this account from my credit bureau immediately. Per Comcast I owe them nothing, so I should not have to pay anything to get it removed. It is damaging to my credit and my business and I want it removed immediately.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted] Our records indicate that a file was placed into our office for collection by Comcast on 11-11-2015 under the name of [redacted] for services at [redacted]. Our investigation shows that we spoke with the consumer yesterday and the consumer indicated that he would be willing to pay this amount if we agreed to delete the credit reporting. Our agent informed the consumer that we do not have a "pay to delete" policy. The consumer then demanded validation of the file. The file history indicates that the agent took down the contact information and did place the file status as "validation." Normally, this process can take up to 30 days to complete. When Stellar received this complaint, which indicates that the consumer spoke with Comcast and they indicated that he had no past due balance due, we contacted our client directly and they said they would send out validation documents to our office. We did received these documents today and have e mailed them to the consumer. In review of the validation documents, we were unable to verify the balance we are currently showing and being reported to us from Comcast. The consumer was informed of this via e mail and was also informed that we are closing the file and sending it back to our client. All Credit reporting has been ordered deleted for the file and that he is welcome to contact Comcast regarding this file in the future.
Review: This company is working with Dish Network in a scam to consumers. When I canceled my service with Dish I was directed to return the materials and I did so. I was told by the UPS store that it was cheaper for me to ship myself than use the label provided and was also told to hold onto my paperwork because dish will claim I used the label and charge me. After a short period of time I received a call saying they had not received my items and after tracking showed it was delivered to them they said it must just need to be processed. About 6months later I was contacted about the $18 shipping fee and then explained to them once again I paid separate shipping they apologized and said it would be removed. Now this company has put this on our credit report and after explaining they are going to contact Dish about the label use. I believe this company along with Dish network are working together in a scam that most people may just pay because they did not hold information and are unable to prove. My complaint is with Dish as well as this collection agency that is familiar with the process!!Desired Settlement: I want this removed from our credit report!!

Re: Stellar Recovery, Inc. - I was contacted by this agency regarding an outstanding balance on a cable company which I did not incur. I explained this to the manager and he promptly stated well your family can help you pay your bills, since I am not working and staying at home with newborn. They have continued to harass me on a daily basis even calling on holidays at around 6AM and continuing throughout the day. Today I counted 10 times and its only 2PM. I told them when I got income I would call back. Needless to say they did not agree and have gone the route of constantly ringing my phone which has a limited amount of time for usage and have ruined my lifeline minutes. Are their not laws that protect the consumer against these type of calls?
Review: Stellar Recovery contacted me by mail in February by mail with a letter offering a settlement for a debt. I called the same day and paid it 2/24/2014. When I called I noted that this debt did not appear on my credit report. The rep told me that they had just recently obtained the debt. I asked specifically if I paid would it appear on my credit report and I was told NO that I had called soon enough. Much to my surprise today 3/6/2014 I received an alert that a collection account has been posted to my credit report. I check it and it was from Stellar Recovery. Not only did they post this account to my credit report after I was told they wouldn't it is reporting incorrectly. I find the practice of taking money from people and then going ahead and damaging their credit anyways completely unethical. This has cause a significant drop in my credit score. The account is also report to [redacted] as 90 past due as of March 2014 which not right considering I paid it in February.Desired Settlement: I would like these entries removed from my all of my credit reports. The account was paid and I was told it would not be reported. I find it completely unethical to report it just to damage someones credit.

Review: I recently checked my credit and noticed an account from Stellar Recovery in collections. I was never notified by this business. This collection was apparently opened in July. I sent a letter requesting validation over a month ago, and have yet to receive anything. Since making the validation request (which asked for what they say the money I owe is for, how they calculated what they say I owe, copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay it, to identify the original creditor, proof that they are licensed in my state, along with license numbers and registered agent), they have removed the collection from one credit bureau, but is still on at least one, possibly two.Desired Settlement: For Stellar Recovery to permanently remove their records from all credit bureaus.

Review: When I closed my Time Warner account, I had returned the loaned hardware and my account was paid in full. They sent my account to Stellar Recovery anyways. I had not received a notice of the debt, from either Time Warner or Stellar Recovery via mail or any other way. The only way I found out about it was from checking my credit report, and by then it was to late.Desired Settlement: I would like the false Collections Account to be removed.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Our records indicate that we did receive a Time Warner Cable account in our office on 8-3-2015 for a [redacted] for Services at [redacted]. Stellar sent a letter regarding the account to Mr. [redacted] on 8-3-2015. Our investigation shows that the account in our office from Time Warner Cable was placed with a delinquency date of 9-9-2014. Mr. [redacted] has never made contact directly with Stellar Recovery in regards to this account. Validation of debt will be requested from the client on [redacted]’s behalf. We will order deletion of the credit reporting for this account during this validation process.
Review: Stellar Recovery went ahead and reported an account as delinquent on my credit report that was not my account in the first place. They made no effort to even contact me about the account, with [redacted] network, which happens to be from my son, whose first name is the same as mine. Because I am attempting to rebuild my credit score, I contacted Stellar immediately, and the girl on the phone was able to verify in a minute or less that they have the wrong person, but then she said I have to fax in to them a copy of the credit report, and a copy of my drivers license, in order to remove this from my credit report.I did this about May 14, and today, May 27, I get a notice that they are continuing to come after me, and reporting negatives to the credit bureaus. When I called today there was no answer. Everything they have done here is wrong, from not verifying the account holder's identity, which took literally a few seconds, to putting things on my report without contacting me, to making me do the work in order to potentially fix their mistake,to not acknowledging my fax to them two weeks ago, to not updating the report as they should have, to continuing reporting negatives that do not exist, to not answering the phone when I call. It looks as though Stellar Recovery uses the credit bureaus to bully people into contacting them.Desired Settlement: I want immediate action to undo what damage has been done to my credit score, since these scores are important, and the process is slow. I want immediate acknowledgement that the problem is now fixed. I want a statement that Stellar Recovery will stop the practices mentioned above for everyone, not just me.

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. On 04-10-2013, Stellar Recovery did receive a past due [redacted] Network account in hte name of [redacted] J. [redacted] for services at 3[redacted] Jacksonville FL 32246. A letter was sent out to this address on 04-24-2013. Stellar Recovery, per our contract with [redacted] Network, did begin reporting this file on 05-10-2013. Stellar Recovery is a "data Furnisher" with the Credit Bureaus, we supply information received from [redacted] Network, then the Credit Bureaus identiy the consumer based on the information supplied, sometimes an error can occur with the Credit Bureaus especially if names are Senior or Junior, we have no control over who the Credit Bureaus assign the information to. On 05-14-2013, we received an e mail from the consumer regarding a notice he received from the Credit Bureaus and believed his son "[redacted]" was the responsible party. he ask us to phone him. An agent spoke with Mr. [redacted] the same day and advised him that the credit bureaus may be listing the wrong party and we would correct this. On 05-14-2013, deletion was requested by the Credit Bureaus for this file and the file was coded "not to report" after the deletion was corrected. Mr. [redacted] does need to allow the time for the Credit Bureaus to respond to this deletion request. We have also performed a manual AUD deletion today to all Credit Bureaus, confirmation # is [redacted], in order to make sure this has been notified of the request. Our agent did apologize for the error on behalf of the Credit Reporting Agencies.

Review: Hello, my name is [redacted] and on Friday, September 6, 2013,1 picked up my mail from the mail box and received the enclosed Collection letter. As you see, it is addressed to "Screening Co Criminal" which is not me, but this is my address. I have lived at this address for a year and have had cable service from [redacted] for way over a year. I was totally "offended" by the name it was addressed to "Criminal" and that also, my [redacted] account has never been in collection. I did call [redacted] that day and they told me that my account is in good standing and is not in collection. I tried calling Stellar Recovery over the weekend, but I guess they are closed on weekends, so I left my name and number, which they did not call me back. I ended up calling them...which they were not at all nice. They told me that this ms the address that [redacted] gave them. I am so offended by all of this and having something like this put in my home mail box as a CRIMINAL Either the Collection Company "Stellar Recovery or [redacted] needs to explain this on how it happened and if my Social Security was given since [redacted] gave the collection company my address. I have my credit monitored so I am waiting to see if this was reported on my credit and if it was, I will be sending out another letter. As for now, I would appreciate something done with [redacted] and Stellar Recovery for address a collection letter to me as a CRIMINAL.... Thanks for your time and attention on this manner.
Desired Settlement: This is unacceptable and I want someone make sure that this is stopped and that this is not reported on my credit for their errors. I would like a letter apologizing for addressing to my home address as a “CRIMINAL".

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. On 08-28-2013, our office did receive a [redacted] file in the name of Screening. Co Criminal , for services at [redacted]. A letter was sent out to this name and address on the same date. We received a call from Ms. [redacted] on 09-09-2013, our notes indicate that she lives at this address but has never heard of this company. The agent that took the call, closed the file immediately and ask for it to be returned to [redacted] based on the information and the strange name associated with this billing. We also received a letter on 09-12-2013 with the same information provided to the Revdex.com, the file had already been closed and returned based on the phone call from Ms. [redacted]. We do apologize, but the information on the name and address were provided by our client. We have closed the file and returned it to our client with information provided by Ms. [redacted].
Review: Was quoted for a settlement offer on a bill in collections. They quoted me $122.90 and charged my card for $152.59 . I confronted them about it and they said they couldn't refund me the difference only refund me the whole thing but it wouldn't resolve my bill in collections. I feel they should refund me the difference and they pay that part. I asked for a email receipt 3 times but never got it and they have admitted on a recorded line that they messed up but after they already charged me.Desired Settlement: O I'd like the refund of $29.69 difference only
Business
Response:
Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. We have reviewed the file and recordings and the consumer was told that a settlement on the file would be $122.90 total. The system processed the approved settlement parameters of $152.59. We have spoken with the agent and they should not have advised that a refund was not possible for the difference. A refund has been process in the amount of $29.69 today, confirmation # [redacted] and a credit will process on the card used by the transaction. We have gotten an approval for the settlement of $122.90 by our client and the file has been again closed as settled in full. A settled in full letter is being processed and will be sent to the e mail on file. [redacted] . We apologize on behalf of the agent as we certainly do have the ability to refund a portion of any payment made in our system.
Review: Stellar Recovery has reported on my credit report an uncollected debt of $46 from 5 years ago. The debt was due to a billing dispute and should have never been a collection issue, as I have emails from the company (Comcast) that shows they owed me 5 months of credit on my account. Comcast never contacted me about this debt, and 5 years later Stellar Recovery has not contacted me about this debt. Instead, I used my free annual credit option and discovered this is being reported as a current debt. Stellar Recovery is required to contact me through US mail to notify me of their intent to report to the credit agency, but they have not done that.Desired Settlement: I have disputed this transaction with the credit reporting agencies, have contacted Comcast to get this item removed from my report, and am asking Stellar Recovery to do the same

Stellar Recovery is in receipt of a complaint filed by [redacted]. Our records indicate that we did receive a file from Comcast on 11-20-2014 for a [redacted] for services at [redacted]. We do show that several attempts were made to contact this consumer at the phone number of [redacted]. On 7-8-2015, we did receive a notice with the credit reporting agencies from the consumer, it indicated "this was a dispute from 3 years ago. Comcast agreed to credit my account because their service technician could not fix our equipment and we were without internet service for 5 months. I returned to Comcast and this balance was never mentioned." Our administrative staff noted the file and properly closed the file as disputed and ordered a AUD deletion of the credit reporting, confirmation # [redacted] on this date We also show that we received an e mail from the consumer on 7-9-2015, claiming that Comcast owed her money, the file had been previously closed but we noted the e mail and prepared a closure letter to be sent to the consumer. The file is closed as disputed and will be returned to Comcast with the information provided by the consumer.
I have been receiving messages from this company for months for an person that I assume used to have my phone number. I spent 13 minutes after a 2 week vacation erasing their messages. when I called them to ask them to stop calling me, the woman who answered hung up on me. when I tried calling back, the call wouldn't go through. this was 3 days ago. today, another call. their cambridge, ma office called me from 617-275-2458. they are horrible.
Stellar continues to contact our work for debts on old employees. I have told them we do not allow personal phone calls on this "work line", and we are not allowed to give personal information on employees. They continue to call with the recorded messages. They are extremely rude and continue to waste me and my fellow workers time and wages with their phone messages.
Daily robo debt collection calls from Stellar never identifying who they represent or the nature or amount of e debt. I have a near perfct credit score of 825 and owe no one an overdue amount.....never have. I have never received any maiil regarding this matter and am certain this is a scam at its core.
This company is terrible. Do not rely on what they tell you verbally and do not rely on them to do anything that requires even a basic level of competence. They reported me to the bureaus for a debt THAT I NEVER EVEN OWED. I explained to them that I never owed this debt and that Comcast made a billing mistake. I even got a verification # from Comcast and provided it to Stellar so that they would see I never owed this debt. They took the number, closed the file and reported to the bureaus which tanked my credit. I immediately caught this and brought to their attention and they refused to correct it. This company is despicable.
Review: I am writing to place a complaint against Stellar Recovery for continue to report and update account # [redacted] to my credit files to the credit reporting agencies without proper validation that the debt is mine. I called orginal credit and spoke to [redacted] with employee ID1262 as they state and was told they have no record of the debt. yet, Stellar recovery continues to update and report this account. This is a violation of the FCRA. How can they continue to update this account without validation?Desired Settlement: Remove all existence from credit bureau!!
