I originally contacted this company via phone back in May They claimed to be a consolidation company affiliated with the Department Of Education They stated they could provide services and assist me with my current student loans that my actual student loan provider could not I paid them an initial "fee" of broken up into payments between August, October, and November of (200.00, 197.50, 197.50) Then continuing "service fees" monthly for which began in December My loans were then consolidated with the actual company *** *** *** and are not affiliated with the third party company which I discovered in April Per a representative, *** *** *** provides the same services at no charge that Student Loan Service claimed *** *** *** could not do So Student Loan Service took in "service fees" over the last years, charging me for a service they claim I could only get through them and not my actual student loan compan

This company told me that they would be helping with my loan forgiveness process, not that they were a third party servicing companyI was informed in July of that with a fee of $695.00, they would assist me in forgiving my loanI was not told that this was a third party company who would only refer my service to Fed Loan, and do not believe that their service was neededIt was not until today, 8/17/that I was informed that they are not affiliated with the Fed Loan company I have my consolidated loans through

I have been working with this company since December of I just found out for the second time in Feb that another one of my loans was not consolidatedThis company came recommended to me from the FAFSA program where all of my student loans originated fromI applied for consolidation years after graduating from collegeEvery time this happens I am given the run aroundI paid $up front for service and was insured that it would be a smooth and easy processYes my school payments came down from $per month to $but I am also paying a monthly fee for their services that I currently feel is a waste of my hard earned dollarsI have been beyond frustrated since starting with this company just over a year ago and I fear although I am on a loan forgiveness track I may not qualify just due to sheer disconnect with themI have held up everything on my end why is it that they keep dropping the ball

On Aug 26th I spoke with a rep from Student Loan Svcs (*** ***) who offered me this great program where she says that I could go on an income based repayment plan and after paying this lesser amount of for years my student loans would be forgiven She said I had to be "approved" for the program I asked her if this was guaranteed and she said it was I was told I was being charged a setup fee and another which I broke up into two payments on the 9/and 9/ She explained that I would be receiving documents in the mail shortly As time went on I received nothing but my cc was charged the I started to research the company and found that many people filed complaints against the company because what they were guaranteeing was actually not true They were promising and charging for something that they could not deliver since the individuals income would most certainly increase over the next years they would most likely not be eligible for any

I hired Student Loan Services to consolidate my student loans and apply for an income-based defermentWhat was unknown to me, was they did not consolidate all my loans, leaving outside of the consolidationI was not aware of this until the loans were in collections, and my credit score took a significant hit
I have been paying Student Loan Services for year, and no payments have been made to my loansI understood that my payment would have a processing fee, but not one cent when towards my loans, not the interest, not the principle
When reviewing my forms there were multiple errors, I asked for corrections to be made that never wereNo attention to detail

SLS charged me a monthly fee and said that my student loans would be forgiven after yearsThey are basically doing what only FedLoans is able to do but saying they will do it and charges a fee based on your income

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
It has been over the days mentioned in their document and response I still do not have a payment plan in place and interest keeps accruing on my account I resent the documents per their request and no confirmation Why do they avoid people when you call about a concern? Why isn't my financial advisor returning calls? The whole thing seems a little fishy to me and I am not convinced that my information is secure and my payment plan is actually going to happen I signed up in November and it is already April I don't have a good gut feeling about any outcome happening out of this All of the consumer reviews sound like the same nightmare If something is wrong, why don't they fix it? Why do they keep getting the same exact complaints without a happy ending?

I recieved a call from *** *** representing Student Loan Services advising that I might qualify for Student Loan Forgiveness through the William Ford Act where I would have one monthly payment for years, afterwhich (if paid consistently ontime) my student loans would be forgiven He advised that he was not with the dept of education but instead a private company that would help me reduce my payments by doing all of the necessary legwork and paperwork When I asked how he would do this he said that we could include anyone who I may have supported financially in the past in my family size (leading me to believe that this was an acceptable practice) as he was representing a companyI was also promised a case manager who would be responsible for my account and communicating with my lendersI payed two payments of $for a total of $as their initial fee to "lock in" my monthly payment of $a month After a year of making payments (for my loan and fo

A representative of SLS mislead me to believe I would be receiving help with my student loan forgiveness but I was never informed that this process could be done for freeI was initially contacted by a representative named *** *** back in December That particular day he urged me to follow through by paying $so the consolidation would beginI was also asked to send in an income reportI was told that a fee of $would be debited from my account monthly to go towards my loan paymentsMy account was debited in two payments of $on January 19, and February 1, and once in January 13, for $The issue is that I was never told that my consolidation can be done without charges and monthly feesI found this out when I contacted Nelnet and the U.SDepartment of Education on February 23, They both informed me that this was a student loan scam and I shouldn't have been charged for this processThey also informed me that NO payments had been made

In September of I received an email from SLS (Student Loan Service) regarding loan forgiveness for public service employeesI responded to this as I have a sizeable amount of student loans and had been working in a low-income school district for the past yearsSLS seemed more than happy to assist me and explained that they would consolidate my loans and enroll me in the loan forgiveness programI needed to give them my personal information including proof of my employment and a $processing feeMy loans would then go into forbearance for the next months while they worked on consolidationI was told I would begin paying $a month starting on March of Like many other applicants, I thought, this was payment towards my loans
The $continued to be withdrawn from my account monthly (months) until I received an email from FLS (Fed Loan Servicing) in December of stating I would need to set up automatic withdrawal for my repayment planI explained I alread

I had a similar problem to the person who posted 9/11/ I have put in writing and a phone call, stop removing the 39.00/month I switched to another legitimate agency But for the past year they are still taking out 39/mo I cannot get them to stop this payment They have done nothing for me! Actually because I rectified through them, I got a withdrawal for my student loan today So from 49.00/mo to This is because it was never re-certified
