TCN is an educational services and eLearning company which provides study material and support to help its customers pass college equivalency examinations.  TCN has assisted many customers in obtaining their degrees at the Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
 
[redacted] signed her Purchase Agreement and all applicable documentation for her degree program on May 29, 2013.
 
However, as a good corporate citizen TCN is willing to grant [redacted] request for cancellation under the following conditions.
 
TCN requests that [redacted] execute TCN’s Release and Settlement Agreement.
 
TCN will refund [redacted] all monies paid to date with exception of a Settlement Fee in the amount of $1,000.00. TCN is refunding [redacted] in excess of the cost of the four Comprehensive Study Modules included on her account at a total of $2,520.00. 
 
Monies retained by TCN will be treated as an “Educational Credit” which can be utilized by [redacted] at any time in the future to complete her non Certificate TCN educational program using TCN materials.

[redacted] enrolled with TCN on October 15, 2013 for the purchase of Comprehensive Learning Modules related to the Associate of Science in Nursing degree program offered by Excelsior College*. TCN recently processed a loan modification per [redacted] request.     
 
TCN would like to take this opportunity to remind [redacted] that his TCN program has a “Lifetime Guarantee”, including a testing guarantee**. In addition, TCN has developed the Academic Guidance Planner and TCN Resource Center.  Those features were designed to assist TCN customers in reaching their educational goals.  The Academic Guidance Planner offers resources to help TCN customers determine what type of learner they are and the best way for them to study, organize their studies, and have a point of reference for their degree program progression. I love TCN! I still don't understand why all of the complaints. Before I signed up with them, I asked all of the questions. Yes they were pushy but were also very concerned that they answered all of my questions. I am not sure if I didn't ask the questions, how they would respond. I work very hard earning my BSN in Nursing. I have to pay $12,000 including interest in 5 years just for Gen. and Pre-req courses. I hope and pray there is no problems getting into Indiana State University after completing these courses. Even though, I will be paying $$$$,it was worth it to me. I am older and I learn better studying at home. There's so much more reasons why I chose the TCN route. It would be interesting to find why the complaints have been filed clearly. It sounds to me people who are complaining are mad at themselves because they were too anxious and thought they had an easy way out with learning. Truth of the matter is, TCN courses are extremely hard. Exams taken under a microscope. Example: I turn my head for a second and the "proctor" told me to keep my eyes on the screen. I think the subject material is so hard for me is due to learning 4 year university material verses a 2 year college. I just don't understand the complaints. I assume there are thousands of nurses graduated from TCN and onto ISU or Purdue, etc. Am I in the dark too? I sure hope not.

I have already complained about this in June. I viewed the letter that was sent from the college network that the checks will be mailed so that I can pay for my exams. But, I still have not received anything from them. The agreement we made in paper from the beginning was that I pay a loan through Southeast Financial so they can get their money right away. In return, they will provide the study guides/modules to help pass the exams and to mail a check for each exam. I still have 2 exams left to do and they have not honored their contract by mailing my checks to take the last 2 exams. I have waited over 12 weeks as they stated that was the wait time and still no checks. I would like to get the check as soon as possible since I am meeting my contract as to pay the loan through Southeast Financial, which they helped me receive in the beginning. I would like the last 2 checks that the College Network owes me so that I can take the exams I need to pass. They are $325 each and they have not honored their agreement by stating, "checks will be mailed after 12 weeks." But, nothing has been done and it's been well over 12 weeks since my request in April 12, 2015 and I have the emails to prove it. Or they can pay off the remaining loan I have through Southeast Financial which is about $900. [redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.This resolution does not resolve the matter of the learning modules not being beneficial for the testing purposes, etc. I have taken multiple tests and don't feel that the materials that are supposed to help have been of any benefit. Not to mention, the amount stated in the contract is not realistic, and does not mention the extra amount of money that has been required to Excelsior yearly. Also - it is obvious that the representative that got myself and multiple other people signed up, is no longer with the company and I was told that it was because, "he didn't want to lie to his customers anymore, like he was doing." How am I supposed to get out of the program in 3 days, without knowing what the materials include that are given to us as students and what the tests will be like before that 3 day period is up? I also contacted the company that the loan is through (Southeast Financial) and they stated that the loan I have through them is a PERSONAL loan and not a STUDENT loan...which was also not told to me when signing up for TCN. I have not received statements from Southeast Financial since June 2014 - even though they said THE COMPUTER generated the statements for all months after June (besides November and December). How is this loan company supposed to verify that these were sent out when a computer generates them. I feel like I am rambling on about this and not getting anywhere. How would you feel if you child signed up for something, thinking that they were going to benefit as a student and progress to their future career - only to find out that they can't do that because the program that they are going through is not beneficial and is making them fork out an over-abundance of money that they financially can't afford and then not know where their money is truely going because they don't receive statements. Maybe you should improve the learning modules so they are more beneficial. I just don't understand how you can lie to your customers and expect them to be ok with it. I am not asking to completely get out of my contract, but some help from them would be nice. I would really like to go through a different school to set a better future for myself and my career goals and that is not going to happen through TCN. I should have just went through Excelsior College and not through TCN as well. Regards,[redacted]

If I have not passed the CLEP, DANTES or Excelsior College* Exam for a particular TCN Comprehensive Learning Module after two attempts, TCN will pay the future cost of re-taking the exam in question, up to the maximum attempts allowed (if any) by CLEP, DANTES, or Excelsior College*. Additionally, TCN will provide me with specific study plans with one of its Academic Advisors and/or the use of an approved tutor in my local area.
