The Travel Center Reviews (287)

Review: I recieved a fax for a vacation to Hawaii for 6 nights 7 days. This was a perfect pkg for my family. I contacted the travel center and purchased a group vacation. 9 adults and 6 children for $4500. Once I recieved paper work there was immediate problems. There was various companies running this vacation and everyone of them had different policies. I am told that my children can not go on this vacation and we can not travel as a group. But yet I purchased the group pkg. they are now telling me to call a company that does not exist "[redacted]". They are not giving me any additional information and no one knows how to help me.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the vacation which was $4500, plus $70 per activation of each voucher which is $5,550.

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

Review: I received a faxed advertisement for a low-cost trip to Las Vegas. I hesitantly called the 888 number, armed with skeptisism and did agree to purchase after some convincing. Weeks and MONTHS went by before I was able to understand the full terms and conditions which did not meet the needs of my travel plans, which I had originally layed out before ever purchasing. Upon discovering new terms each time I spoke with representatives, had been hung up on, spoken to rudely and aggressively for no reason, I began to think of this as a scam! My travel dates and needs have since passed and I never recieved the resolution of refund which I had been promised. When I did call to follow up, I was told by one particular individual (having put some trust into) that I was "lying" and that "I was making the whole thing up". I am out $1464 dollars!!Desired Settlement: I would like to recieve a full refund (despite their original terms and conditions) - per the word of "[redacted]" and "[redacted]" for the misunderstanding, misrepresentation, and disappointment of not being able to travel as desired. I had reason to agree to the terms and conditions with the full belief that I would be able to travel as it was sold to me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

In response to the letter sent to me, I do recognize that The Travel Center was ONE OF the entities involved in this transaction. I DID send an email to [redacted] (see attached) and DID NOT receive a response. I spoke several times with representatives from The Travel Center and was not given an answer as to why my email was never responded to. When I did try to call and express my concern, I was hung up on. The level of customer care seemed to "tank" again, once my suspision increased about the legitmacy of the purchase and I made it clear that there were inconsistencies in the way my situation was being handled. I was again HUNG UP ON which illustrated a severe lack of regard for me as a 'customer made to be unhappy'.

Please see the attached copy of an email that I sent on December 10, 2012. The email was sent early on in the course of events once I was made aware of some other terms and conditions - this led to me being even more persistent in trying to obtain a refund.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

True - my request in my December of 2012 email was for a phone call. In never recieving a phone call, I did pursue calling back several times myself to which I never recieved an actual response. Every converstaion that took place left me either hanging for days without resolution to a question, wondering if I would be able to even use the travel that I purchased for the dates I had intended. My intention and approach was never to be upset, but the hostility which I recieved from the representatives (including being hung up on) casued me a great deal of frustration and anxiety - no customer should ever be treated that way. To turn around and to write a paragraph acusing ME of being "rude" or "using abusive language" is a misrepresentation of the truth in this matter. My involvement with this company was to have made a memorable trip for my brother and friends, and it ended up costing me money out of my own pocket, in addition to the money I spent to make a new travel plan and itinerary. I work hard for my money and don't appreciate it being stolen this way.

I do not wish to have this case closed until my refund is made in full for services that were sold to me which were not at all fulfilled. I am happy to provide any other information which might clarify this in more detail.

Regards,

Review: In May,2013,I received an offer over the fax at work for 4 days3nights at an all inclusive with airfare included. I called to inquire and spoke with [redacted] on speaker phone so my spouse could hear the answers to my questions. He stated for 179.98 per person we would receive vouchers for hotel and air.We also had to pay an additional $69.00 per person and $150.00 at the resort. They neglected to tell that the 72 hr cancellation period expired before we received the info. Then they tell you that $99.00per person has to be sent to [redacted] .Travel Center wrote no refunds would be issued. We opted not to proceed because [redacted] listed no email or phone contact and I found reviews by hundreds of people like myself who sent money and never got the trip.In conclusion I am out $1095.96 for four person trip to celebrate my daughter graduating with her Masters. There were many strange things about this'd deal you had to send an open check from a personal checking acct. Thank goodness I opened a separate account to avoid more theft.

We will be more than happy to process their refund request. Please have the client enclose the name of the client that paid the Travel Center along with their contact information. All refund requests must be received in writing.

August 12, 2014 Dear [redacted],After reading the letter and pulling [redacted]'s file this is what was found. Here at the Travel Center we do not sell, advertise or give presentations. In the letter a reference was made to Promo Code [redacted] this company puts on Presentations and our information was given to [redacted] at that presentation. On October 15, 2013 we received a check from [redacted] for two travelers. Then [redacted] sent in his booking information form requesting his airline booking documents. On November 4, 2013 the booking documents were mailed. We have no further correspondence from [redacted] in his file.[redacted] will need to contact the booking company to book his reservation on the signed document I have enclosed for your record that [redacted] signed it covers our refund policy. It states that Once travel documents and booking codes are ordered and purchased by the Travel Center at your request, there cannot be any refunds of any fees collected by the Travel Center. The Travel Center is not responsible for any advertisement of the product you purchased or written and verbal agreements made by the company you purchased it from. If you have any questions about the package please call that company. I suggest that [redacted] get in touch with [redacted] in Florida to find out where his booking documents are as to the airline tickets he is requesting. Since the Travel Center is not the booking company we cannot assist [redacted] in this matter.Since the product that [redacted] purchased from the Travel Center was received almosta year ago there is no way we can assist him here in this office since those documents were time sensitive [redacted] will need to deal directly with that company.Sincerely,Donna Comptroller

Review: The advertisment was for a cheap vocation for places such as the Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen. The tell you to send so much money for starting the process, then send money to set up for the flight. Then they send you to another travel agency which I find now has a bad reputation, "[redacted] request more money and what type of vocation your interested in. My last reply was to send my information by June 28, which I did. I also sent the 3 different dates I requested to go. Since then no response. I called asking [redacted] no reply. I finallly called the originator and they say they will get me another company and send it e-mail. Still no reply. So I am out of about $900 Dollars.Desired Settlement: I was hoping for the vocation but I would settle for any refund.

July 28, 2014Dear [redacted],After reading the letter and pulling [redacted]'s file this is the information I have. In [redacted] letter he is requesting a refund of $900.00. This amount was never paid to the Travel Center. [redacted] will need to go back to the company that those funds were paid to.On March 11, 2013 [redacted] sent in a payment of $138.00 to the Travel Center on or about March 18, 2013 the booking information sheet was faxed to our office. On March 29, 2014 the booking documents that were ordered from [redacted] was sent via certified mail. I have provided proof of delivery from the post master that the item was delivered on April 1, 2013.Our records do not show any correspondence from [redacted] until May 15, 2014. I can only guess that [redacted] called our office and requested another booking company since I am sure the first booking company voided his vacation documents. I have enclosed the signed booking information request form from [redacted] that states our refund policy. He must have spoken to one of our Managers that sent him a peak season email giving the guide lines to the restrictions on travel booking dates. [redacted] has not responded to the peak season email so that we can give him the access codes to go on line and start the booking process. Please keep in mind that the vacation that was mailed to [redacted] has expired we were attempting to help [redacted] to take the vacation of his choice. On July 17, 2014 [redacted] called our office and was complaining about the first booking company [redacted]. My customer service representative was attempting to make sure he understood the online process but [redacted] kept interrupting the agent with complaints about the first company. We are [redacted] and we are not the company that sold [redacted] anything. The Travel Center does not advertise, sell or promote anything the clients contact us for our services. We make every attempt to insure the clients understand the booking process via the signed documents I have provided and the online booking site.So please send this complaint sent to the company that [redacted] paid the $900.00 to. Since the Travel Center has made every attempt to get [redacted] to a booking company for the vacation that can be done on line. If [redacted] requires our office to resend the peak season letter again please instruct him to call or office or email us at info [redacted] to start the process again. Since the Travel Center has offered the vacation of his choice no further correspondence is required from the Travel Center.Sincerely,Donna Comptroller

Review: I was referred to The travel center from [redacted] travel regarding a 3day 2 night vacation to las vegas. I have already filed a complaint on [redacted] travel for their dishonesty. (Revdex.com complaint#[redacted]). I am filing a seperate complaint against the travel center because they were dishonest regarding their refund process. After sending in $414 booking fee for 6 people, I was told that in order to activate the vouchers there was an additional $600 needed. This was not explained by either company and I just had had it, I wanted my money refunded back to me. I spoke to an [redacted] at ###-###-#### . She is an representative that works at the travel center. I explained to her my dispute with [redacted] travel and she explained to me that they no longer work with [redacted] travel company . (I wonder why?) She said I could send the vouchers back in to them and I could get a refund for the $414 that I paid (minus any cancellation fees) Ok I got the address and sent the vouchers from the post office certified mail directly to them. I called to see if they were received and was told the only thing in the envelope that they received from me was registration for**. That was a lie, I know what I sent in, I had the receipt. I spoke with a manager name [redacted] (refused to give a last name) and she said she personally opened the package and nothing but the registration for** were in there. Not true at all. I sent back exactly what they sent me. She becomes beligerent when I suggest that the vouchers could have been misplaced or something. She was very very rude and unprofessional and straight out called me a liar. This is how they treat their customers. That is unacceptable for a business manager. No apology, no concern, no empathy no nothing from her. I'm thinking why would you personally open a package and you are the manager? it didnt sound right for her to say that and then get so mad about it. She said they didnt receive the vouchers and I couldn't get a refund. I tried calling and emailing other people to no avail they just stated what [redacted] says goes. No escalation of the complaint or anything else. I feel that I was all around scammed by these two businesses and It's a lesson learned. I just want my hard earned money back that I paid to these companies for the vegas trip. I paid the travel center $414 in booking fees and I want my money refunded as they said. When I sent the vouchers back they clain they didnt receive them. That's totally untrue. I have my certified receipt that shows I sent a package to them. What manager opens mail anyway? These businesses are not on the up and up and I just want my money back. Please help me.. Thank you!Desired Settlement: I would like the money I paid the travel center to be refunded to me in full. I would like $414 refunded to me for the booking fees that I was charged for a trip for 6 that we will never take.

Dear **. [redacted],

In reading the letter from your office and in pulling **. [redacted]’s file this is the information in her file I have provided copies with highlighted areas for your quick reference.

In **. [redacted]’s letter she states she was not aware of our refund policy. I have provided three copies of different signatures from three different people stating our refund policy on the same document it clearly state the booking procedure prior to the Travel Center mailing the vouchers. This document should of made **. [redacted] aware that the travei dates that [redacted] Travel insured travel for was not possible since a 90 day advanced notice is required from the date the voucher are submitted to the booking company. **. [redacted] should of address this issue prior to submitting her selection to our office on May 24, 2013. Nowhere on her forms did she supply our company with a travel date. We can only hope that our clients read the documents before signing and submitting them to our company.

In **. [redacted]’s emails you will read that we do refund clients that send back the complete documents. This includes the cover, terms and conditions and the registration forms. We did receive one total package back from **. [redacted] and a refund was issued to her on November 12, 2013 check number [redacted]. On the signed document it states no refund will be issued once vouchers are ordered and received. In the email conversations **. [redacted] was aware of the refund amount she would be receiving for the two packages she was returning and the instruction on when and how to receive the extension for the third voucher.

Since **. [redacted] refund has been issued for the one complete voucher package returned and if **. [redacted] is able to locate the other items from the other packages that were sent to two different people a refund will be issued at the time we receive them. **. [redacted] is requesting a full refund from your agency but in the emails provided you will read she agreed to a partial refund once the complete package was returned.

Please close this case since the refund has been issued to **. [redacted] that was agreed upon. Once this case is closed **. [redacted] can submit for the extension and the documents required as per the instructions in the email

Sincerely,

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I did not know of The Travel center until my money was already paid to [redacted] Travel center. I paid [redacted] $900 for 6 people. I was guaranteed a certain date from [redacted] travel for our trip. This $900 was to cover the trip in its entirety. I was told it would cover roundtrip airfare and hotel. [redacted] did not give me any sort of information on the travel center, so how was I suppose to know about their 90 day policy for booking? I only found out about the travel center when they sent information regarding booking and processing. The only reason I paid The travel center $414 was because I could not get my money back from [redacted]. Now, once I paid the travel center $414 for processing, they sent 3 vouchers, supposedly covering 6 people (2per voucher). I spoke with [redacted] at the travel center about the vouchers and thats when I found out an additional $99 per person was needed before trip can be planned. By this time I felt that the entire trip was a scam and I wanted my money back. I was told to send in the vouchers (which were all together) for a refund minus the $25 fee per person. I went ahead and agreed to the partial refund. First I sent in 2 vouchers (everything that they sent with the vouchers were included) I sent them both back certified mail and I still have the receipt of what I paid. I call the travel center to see if it was received and they tell me they only received 2 registration for**. How can that be? If you received the registration for** which were inside the booklet then you received the booklet and vouchers as well. I called to speak with a manager and their manager [redacted] straight out called me a liar and said they didn't get the vouchers and I didn't send them. So what was I charged for at the post office? I tried to explain to her that everything was sent back, could it have been misplaced at their company and she just gets beligerent with me. I asked if their calls are recorded and she hung up on me. That is no way to treat your customers. I am the one who is out of my hard earned money for a trip that we still have not taken. What can I do with the vouchers? I can't do anything with them and plus they were already paid for. So after that little scam from the travel center, I was advised to send in the third voucher for a refund and just cut all ties with this dishonest company. I sent in the voucher package as I did before (they did say they got that one) I figured they couldn't use the same line that they did not receive it this time. So now im told we received the 1 voucher back and a partial refund of $88 was sent out to you on November 12, 2013. Today is December 4, 2013 and I have yet to receive that check. Honestly, I don't think anything was sent out. Regarding their response No I have not received a refund check from them and I don't believe that they sent it out. I have no proble** with the postal service in my area if it was sent out I would have received it by now. I called the travel center and inquired about the refund for the third voucher and was told quote : since I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com they cannot give me anything until the complaint is resolved and this was the end of November. So tell me how was a check sent out on 11/12 if they told me that they recived a complaint from the Revdex.com and nothing can be done until its resolved? So that further let me know that this entire trip was a scam. I am wanting my money back from all 3 vouchers as I know they were paid for by me. I have no use for the vouchers which is why I sent them back for a refund. I do understand the partial refund amounts, because of the $25 fee per person. But, I deserve my money back. I have not recived anything from this company and they know it. they can check and see if that check was cashed or not. I can tell you it was not becuase I have not received anything from them. This is a very fraudeulent and dishonest company that they are running. They say they no longer work with [redacted] travel, I wonder why? Because that company is a fraudulent dishonest company as well. I have been scammed all around regarding this trip and I am just requesting my money back for the 6 vouchers that I sent to them. [redacted] is being handled on a different case, so I ask for my refund from the travel center. I have receipts for everything I have sent to them. In response to their letter, I would like to say please do not close this case until my money is refunded. To this date I have not received anything back from them, Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Regards,

Business

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have not received my refund amount. They say a refund check was mailed out on 11/12 but I have received nothing from their company and it is now 12/17/13. Why is that? they say lost in the mail but I know that's a lie. Nothing was ever sent out to me. So, why do I have to wait 90 days to get my money back? They can clearly check to see if a check was cashed or not. And why would I have to pay a $35 stop check fee? as much as I'm going through with this company, why wouldn't they just stop the check and re-issue another one to me? They are not trying to work with me at all and I find that very disturbing, especially since this is a world wide business. I have been screwed out of my money since day 1 with [redacted] and then this company. They know what happened with [redacted] because I explained everything in my email to them, so why put me through more of this mess? It all comes back to 6 people paid for a trip that we have yet to take! We have received no money back from anyone! Again, travel center policies were not disclosed until after [redacted] was paid the $900 or so for 6 people to take the trip. After that was paid, we were told about the travel center and whatever other company was involved. So the travel center is incorrect in saying I was never given a date for the trip. I was not only given a date, but a certain date was guaranteed to me. [redacted] was a partnering company of theirs, so they should have some type of consideration to customers. Especially customers like me who has gotten scammed out of money and hasn't taken a trip yet. [redacted] has a suit against them as well. What i'm focusing on now is this company and the 3 vouchers I sent back. You received your packets back and I still haven't gotten a refund. Yes I was aware of the partial refund because of the $25 cancellation fee. In my emails it clearly states I'm aware and I agree to a partial refund, but I have not received anything from your company. Why is that? I know you received the first two vouchers back because you said you received the registration for**. All of that was together so you received the vouchers. Why you are being dishonest is puzzling to me. Only reason I can come up with is that this too is a dishonest scamming company just like [redacted]. You already know the vouchers were paid for, by me. You already know a trip has not been taken. So why not refund my money? especially when you know nothing can be done with the vouchers, so what reason do I have to lie about sending them back? please answer that for me! I can do absolutely nothing with those vouchers! I want my money back (partial refund) and you can take your cancellation fees out. But, it's not fair for me to get nothing back from either company. The travel center did not send you all of the email correspondence that was sent to them, by me. Their manager is rude and has no customer service skills. She supposedly runs the whole company, which I think is false. But that's what I was told in an email that was sent to me. So [redacted] answers calls, opens mail, refunds checks, she basically does everything in this company, which I don't understand. A supposed company this big cannot possible be run by 1 person. Something is not right about this company and I just want my money back that was agreed upon. I shouldn't have to wait for my money, they did not wait to get it. The money order was sent certified mail and they send their correspondence regular mail. Why is that? why couldn't I receive my refund on the third voucher certified mail? at least it would have been documented that I received it. I'm requesting the partial refund for the first two vouchers as well. So I ask you not to close this case but to continue to investigate this company because to my knowledge its a fraudulent company and I have been scammed. Again, requesting my money back! Thank you!
