The customer has clearly laid out the circumstances which we also documented while working through them with the customer. In my last communication with the customer we pointed out the problems he had with the tires related to a defect in the tires. Once that was determined we adjusted
the tires out at no charge to the customer and returned the original tires to Michelin. As for the wheel covers, we take full responsibility for the loss of those. We have tried to locate them, but have been unsuccessful. The dealer has told us those are discontinued although we did learn when available they cost between $and $80.00. As we feel responsibility for the wheel covers we would like to reimburse Mr*** $for each of the wheel covers (including the one he still has in possession), for a total of $400.00. Let us know if you need anything further to update this ticket or take care of Mr***

We stand by our work that we performed in AprilThe failure of the engine in mid May was unrelated to any work we had performedWhen we performed the service in April, there were no apparent symptoms to indicate there were any issues with the engineSince the vehicle has internal engine damage unrelated to the oil change or other services we performed, Tire Discounters is not responsible for the engine damageWe will cooperate in any next steps

We reviewed this and the challenge at first was our customer was a third party that arranged for the oil change to be done. Once we learned that, research was made easier. I sent the following email to Mr*** today, “***, I think the quickest and easiest way to handle this is
to issue you a refund request for the amount we charge ValAir for oil changes. Based on history it looks like we charge them $for Oil Changes. I can request the refund and we can have a check for that amount sent to your home or office. I just need the address. Please let me know if this is acceptable and I will take care of that. Thank you again for your time. *** ***” Let us know if you need anything further to update this ticket or take care of Mr***. Thank you for alerting us and allowing us the chance to connect

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Regarding the response I have to say it is upsetting to.know that they can document anything they will without any consequenceThey can word things to benefit themIt is upsetting to know I was taken advantage of the day their worker originally stripped the plug outThey were very forthwith on the issue caused by them and repairing the issueI was so satisfied with how theu5hamdled the situation I didn't feel I had to cover my tracksThis is proof now where they got their slogan from "out the door with more " You do get more when getting serviced theirYou just don't realize it until it's too lateThey are willing to own up to minor cheap repair mistakes but not costly onesThey are the exact reason my wife and grandmother don't feel comfortable taking their cars in for repairs these daysThey always say they will get taken advantage ofThis is proof that it can happen to anyoneDefinently loss for words with their actions related to this issue and their dishonesty They are too big of a corporation these days and don't worry about losing valued long term customers apparently.

In this matter we appreciate Mr***’s acceptance of the offer to reimburse him a total of $for the center caps. As for the remainder of his request to resolve the matter there are some challenges. First there is the request to have the installation charges reimbursed. Tire Discounters does not charge for installation when the tires are purchased from us (see the attached invoices). The second matter is the request for reimbursement for the “mark up cost put on the tires”. As we resolved the issue with the tires we do see how this relates to this matter

I discussed this with the person who makes the final decisions on refunds and it was explained to me that the tire manufacturers do not put a warranty on trailer tires so there would be no proration on the tires. However, we do agree the Road Hazard should not have been sold on the tires, so
that has been refunded the customer in the form of a gift card. Let us know if you need anything further to update this ticket or take care of Mr***

According to our records on this matter, Mr*** filed a claim with his insurance company. Tire Discounters also filed a claim with our insurance company and they deemed it mechanical failure and not improper install. They did issue Mr*** a check in the amount of $for good
will. Tire Discounters also offered to provide a good will reimbursement of $as well as a $TD gift card. Tire Discounters stands firm on its decision that this was due to previous damage and not improper install. However, our offer listed above is still available. Let us know if you need anything further to update this ticket or take care of Mr***

I have not received any offer at all from Tire Discounters, nor their insurance company State Auto, about this matterWhen I dropped off my car to have the rear brakes fixed on October 17th, I did not even have second thoughts about doing such since I was under the impression that this was a reputable and honest company whose employees reflected these valuesObviously and unfortunately nothing could be further from the truthI shared my awful experience on this specific Tire Discounter's (TD's) website and I was told (** ***) that I would get a a call from the regional manager to resolve this issue, to this day I am still awaiting that callAfter less than hours of me posting my experience onto this locations website, my review was taken down so that other people could not see my review and so that the star rating on this TD shop would be higher. After I picked up my car and drove barely mile from the shop my engine just quit, it died while I was in gear and upon turning the key all that the starter would do is 'click'What I believe happened is that the bearings at the ends of the connecting rods that attach to the crankshaft have literally been welded together from the extreme heat they had to endure from TD's negligence. After my engine quit I immediately opened my hood and looked to see if any oil at all was in my engineUpon unscrewing the oil cap where oil is poured into the engine during oil changes I observed that smoke was rising out of my engineWhen I took out my dipstick to see if this was true smoke also rose out of the plastic dipstick guide tube and when I looked upon the dipstick to see how much oil was currently in my engine, there was literally none, The dipstick was bone dryI immediately took out my cell phone and took a video of this to prove my findings just in case I had to take any legal action, I am very glad that as such for it looks like that is going to be my only optionWhen I was sure that TD was at fault in this instance I immediately called the manager to report my findings and his response was "Yeah we didn't touch anything under the hood." I kept asking him if it was possible that there was some sort of mand my engine was drained of oil and not refilled he just kept denying everythingWhen I proceeded to ask him about the new oil filter on my vehicle he responded with "I have no idea what your talking about" and very rudely hung up on me.I believe the man that the insurance company sent out to verify my vehicle confirmed that my engine was seized from the starter only being able to 'click' and my engine not being able to turn over at all. Both my father and myself have done every oil & filter change on my vehicle ourselves and we have documented this every time in doing soWe only use one type of filter, of which my car arrived with on October 17thWhen my engine died I inspected this and it had been changedI now have it as evidence and this alone proves that TD's is at fault for draining my engine of oil and my vehicle needing a new engine entirely because of their negligence and incompetence.I have sworn statements from two eyewitnesses of whom can confirm everything that I have stated, as well as video statements from an engine expert that also confirms my findingsWhen the engine expert removed this new filter that TD installed on my vehicle it was virtually completely emptyThe only way that this is possible after an engine is started and driven for one mile is for the oil to be previously drained from the engineI have a video statement of him confirming that I will submit in court when I take legal action against this company.I thought being a company that had lasted for so long meant that TD still cared and respected their customers as well as having integrity to owhen a worker makes a mistakeI am a collegiate student who has been without their vehicle for almost weeks straight now because of this company's refusal to admit a simple mistakeThis is utterly ludicrous and ridiculous on the part of TDI will be filing for a lawsuit against this company as soon as possiblePlease e-mail me with anymore questions or concerns at ***

We have reviewed the customer’s concern and discussed with the Store Manager as well as the Regional Manager. The Store Manager has indicated it is a small dent that appears to have been caused by the door of an adjacent vehicle in a parking lot. While it is uncertain if that occurred in
our lot or somewhere else, Tire Discounters would like to offer to have that repaired by a dent removal facility. We have contacted that vendor and he indicates he would need the truck for two to three hours. If acceptable to the customer, he can arrange that appointment with the Store Manager. After research and contacting the companies that had on-line listings for the part number of the center caps, we discovered, although listed, none had any in stock. As we had previously determined, they are no longer in production. As a result our previous offer to reimburse Mr*** $!each for the caps (total $400) is still open

Tire Discounters takes great pride in our tire installation, including mounting and balancing. We also guarantee the work if not completed to a customer’s satisfaction. In this situation, the Customer brought four tires, purchased elsewhere, to our Frankfort, KY store for mounting
and balancing. He was charged $per tire. Customer was not satisfied that some of the sticky wheel weights fell off. Tire Discounters offered to rebalance at any of our stores which the Customer refused. Tire Discounters is happy to resolve the matter by warranty of the service at any of our stores the customer choses

I’ve included the receipt from my service at Tire Discounters, from *** *** (which includes a statement that the car was received with no drain plug), and the Service Warranty which I received with my Tire Discounters receipt However, the local Tire Discounters branch has already inspected the car at *** *** I believe that Larry is the one that carried out the inspection prior to the local branch denying responsibility The mileage was 160,when I got the oil change The mileage when the car was received at the shop was 165, I was at miles since my last oil change which is less than the service guarantee and less than my owner’s manual maintenance schedule which says my car needs the oil changed every miles However, even if I had been due for another oil change that would not have caused the drain plug to completely fall out and lock up my engine
