very positive experience at Toyota of Gladstone

We went looking for a RAVand we found one but it was too expensive so we had to walk away, but the very next day we get a call about one within our price rangeIt was perfect, and we settled a deal that dayNow we are the proud owners of a Toyota RAV

I love the service department at Toyota of Gladstone! The people are nice when I arrive and they work quickly to get the maintenance service done At the end of the appointment, they tell me what was done and what might be coming up at the next appointment This is the only dealership that I have used that runs on time--my appointments have only taken an hour--I'm happy about that!

To whom it may concern:
On November 13, 2017, I purchased a Toyota 4Runner from Toyota GladstoneI originally came there for a Black Toyota 4Runner which I made an appointment at O’clock with one of the Toyota Sales RepresentativeThis Sales Representative was referred to me from one of my close family memberWhen the time came closer, I received a call from Kristen, another Toyota Sales RepresentativeShe asked me if I was still planning to come see the vehicle as there is another customer who is looking to purchase the vehicleShe told us that they’re waiting on us to make the decision since we already booked the appointment to see the vehicleI confirmed with her that I’m on my way and will be there by 3P.Mas scheduled (I live an hour away from Toyota Gladstone)When I got there, the sales rep we originally scheduled with was not there but another sales rep, Kristen, introduced herself to us and walked us toward the vehicle (Toyota 4Runner)I started off by walking around the 4Runner and inspecting all the pros and consI then realized a lot of damage around the bodyWhile I was inspecting the vehicle, the Sales Rep was persuading my younger brother to start the credit applicationI felt like she was really impatient and was rushing us to speed up the processIt was a red flag to me when she keeps on suggesting for my brother to start the credit application process while I inspected the vehicleI told my brother to hold on and for us to make sure this is what they’re looking for before signing any documentsI pointed out to the Sales Rep that the vehicle has been into an accident on the rear passenger panel and bumperShe responded and reassured me that the vehicle is CERTIFIED which means that it has never been in any reported accidentsShe stated that even CARFAX shows no accident and said she could lose her license as all vehicles must pass their inspection in order to be CERTIFIEDI told her that I myself do vehicle body work and I’m a mechanic so I wonder how this vehicle PASSED the inspection to become certifiedI pointed out that all tires have pressure crack and a huge dent on the rear passenger panel (Looks like someone has tried to pull the rear panel to make it not so noticeable)I pointed out to the Sales Rep for her to touch it herself and compare to the driver’s sideShe came and touched the damageStating that it’s nothing and that’s how it isThe two front tires were about 70% and the rear was about 50%I even pulled her up closer to see the pressure crackYou can clearly see that the tires itself is not good and will need to be replacedShe didn’t respond to me and said it passed inspectionI then ask her if the price was negotiable ($32,999) and she mention that at this point, it’s not because someone is looking to purchase the vehicle if we are notAfter inspecting the vehicle, my younger brother still wanted the vehicle so we walked inside the store to discuss to start on paperworkI’ve mentioned to the Sales Rep that we have already got pre-approved from our bank and we don’t need to re-run our credit scoreShe continually tells me that they can’t take our pre-approval letter as they need to run our credit in order for us to take the vehicle homeIt didn’t make any sense to me why they would not take my pre-approval letterAfter going back and forth, I’ve mention multiple times that I would rather not re-run my credit as we have already got pre-approval and I know rerunning it will drop my credit scoreI then ask her for a purchase order so I can bring a cashier check back tomorrow for the vehicleShe then told me that if we’re not going to run our credit, we’re going to lose the vehicleShe told me to hold as she needs to partner up with her Sales ManagerAfter minutes, she came back to tell us that the vehicle has been sold to the other partyI can’t believe I drove hour and she just sold the vehicle right in front of me while asking for a purchase orderI was so disappointed and angry that this Sales Rep for wasting my timeShe didn’t even apologize for wasting my timeShe’s so unprofessional and unwelcoming from the beginningAs I was about to leave, my younger brother saw another 4Runner sitting in their front lotI mention to her that I’d like to look at the 4RunnerNow, she’s more cautious of me since she watched me inspect the previous vehicle and suggested that I take the vehicle for a test driveI mention that I trust her and don’t need toShe replies that I must take it for a drive for her to feel more comfortable and just in case it’s not what I expectedI took the vehicle for a drive and told her, we’ll take this oneWe went back inside to start the paper workAgain, I mentioned that I’ve already gotten the pre-approved letter from my bank and don’t want to re-run my credit scoreThe Sales Rep decided to partner up with the Sales Manager about our pre-approval letterThey both came back and stated that they’ll beat our APR score with a 2.7% APR (we got a APR with our bank) if we have a or higher scoreI told them that I myself have a higher score than and if they’re willing to beat the ARP score, I’ll run my credit score and finance through Toyota DealershipAfter they ran my score, it came back with a and my younger brother had around somethingThey told me that because he has never purchase a vehicle before, the score they can give us is 5.9% ARP and they’ll not be able to give us the 2.7%.ARPI mention that they have said if we have a or higher, they’ll match and that is why I agree to run my creditNow, they’re flipping their words around and saying we’ll have to take it or leave itI was so pissed because they basically lied to me so they can run my credit to reflect their daily forecastThe Sales Representative told me that re-running my credit score will not affect it much“Only a few points will drop and it’ll climb back up within a few months”I told her that what she is telling me is informationIt doesn’t drop a few point, it drops tons of pointsIt took me years to build this creditSince they couldn’t match our score anymore, they told us to now just bring in our check from our bank, but they would still need to do a bafinance through them in case our check doesn’t come throughI told them I don’t want the 5.9% APR, but She mentions that it doesn’t matter on my APR because we are going to re-finance elsewhere so our APR with Toyota won’t matterShe then continued with her story to go off topicI then ask her what is the turn-around time that we are allowed to refinanceShe told me guarantee days to a week After going back and forth, the Sales Rep decided to bring in the Finance Manager Vic since it was getting complicatedI asked him the same question of the turnaround time for refinanceHe then told me he can only allow days turnaround as he’s leaving for vacation and will not be able to extend any longerI was so disappointed at this Sales RepNothing but liesI then told the Finance Manager that we have already gotten pre-approval and don’t need to finance through them He told me that why didn’t we mention that in the beginningI told him that I repeatedly told the Sales Rep that I got pre-approval letter for the vehicleShe then look at me and the Finance Manager and said we didn’t tell herI couldn’t believe what I am hearing out of this Sales Rep mouthNothing but garbage words out of her mouthI didn’t want to continue this transaction any more so I told the Finance Manager to just finish up the paper workAs we wrapped up the paper work, I asked for the Finance Manager business card so I can contact him the next morningAs the next morning came, we tried to get in contact with the Finance Manager and our creditor to finish the paperwork in the morning (9AM)Our creditor mention that they need the (Application of title) and a copy of the purchase order in order to start the transactionWe then contacted the Finance Manager Vic once again for the documents but couldn’t get a hold of him at the timeWe continually called over phone calls and no answersI gave my bank the finance manager’s contact number and even then, they were not able to get a hold of himFinally after so many calls, my creditor was able to get a reach out a finance person from there who mentions that they’ll fax over the documents to my bankOne hour after another, no documents have been receivedAt this time, it was already 3P.MI give the Finance Manager a final called and was able to get a hold of himI mention to him that is not a game and he needs to fax the document over cause he’s delaying my timeI told him I’m going to be on the phone and he need to email the documents to me and the bank while I stay on the phoneHe then finally emails all the documents to me but when I got off work, the bank was already closedI finally was able to finalize all the paperwork the next morning with my bankTwo days that I and my brother have missed work all because the lack of customer service of Toyota GladstoneAn hour later after I have completed signing the documents with my bank, the GM of Toyota Gladstone decided to call me because of the issueHe introduce himself to me and stated that he review all my documents before contacting me and is aware of the issueHe stated that it was my fault for not understanding that I must have points of higher in order to get the ARP and as of the Toyota 4Runner, the other party has already shake hands and purchase the vehicle before we got thereHe stated that they don’t hold any vehicle for anyone and its first come first serveWhile I was trying to talk to him, he told me I needed to listen and he understand that student fresh out of college will always have student loans which will not look good on their recordI told the GM, first of all, your Sales Rep lied to me about this vehicle being certified and provided information to meSecond of all, I test drove the Toyota 4Runner before the other party even purchase the vehicle so how did they shake hands on it while I was inspecting and driving the vehicleI’ve also pointed out how they inspect cars to be certified when it was obvious this car has been in an accident plus tires have pressure crack? He didn’t respondI told him that the Sales Rep and Sales Manger told me if I have a or higher, they’ll match due to seeing my pre-approval letterThey didn’t mention anything about or higherI told the Sales Manager and Sales Rep that I got pre-approved with a ARP and that was why they offered the ARP to meThey said if I have a point of higher, they’ll match and that is why I ran my creditI have witnesses with me during the time they gave me the offerI’ve also said that I got a score of and that is only points away from their requirementIt didn’t make any sense to me about lying to re-run my creditI told the GM it took me almost a full day before even receiving the documentation to my bank from their Finance Manager Vic I’ve mention to the GM that I’m a mechanic myself I do body work on vehicle and I use to work at a car dealership dealing with finance, legal, and partnership with Salem Headquarter DMVI questioned him about all the information his employees have told me and all he could say to me was sorry and apologizedThe Sales Rep, the Sales Manager, the Finance Manager and the GM all tried to gain up on me thinking I didn’t know what I was doingJust because I’m young, they think they can do whatever to meAll I got from this store was dishonesty, discrimination and stereotyping me, and lack of and disgusting customer service This is my first and will be my lastThis has nothing to do with Toyota or the 4RunnerIt’s the atmosphere of this place and the employeesThis is the worst place ever to purchase a vehicleI thought it was only the bad salesperson, but it ended up being all of themI am very outraged and disappointed with my experience at Toyota Gladstone
