Tricon American Homes has an online application process that collects data from potential applicants wanting to rent a home My personal data was compromised and I was made aware through a Credit Alert on 10/ I reached out to the credit screener and was then directed to Tricon America Homes I made phone calls to the Application Supervisor (Renee ***) and was being told "Jennifer ***' did not submit nor apply for a home On the 5th call I was located and told that someone was renting a home in Hollywood, FL on my behalf I asked how they were able to get through the screening process using someone else's information I was told no security questions were ask, a picture ID collected, etc since it was online My credit was perfect so they passed w/o any issues I have continued to reach out to the property manager in Hollywood (Wendy ***) and cannot get a returned call from her or Renee I have sent letters from the Federal Trade Commission along with my ID and

On Thursday I went to pick up mail that had been delivered since we vacated and that a neighbor was holding for usThe neighbors had mentioned to me that a lot of work was being done at 4408, so while I was in the neighborhood, I checked out the house we had lived in for yearsIt had been nicely painted inside and out, new carpeting had been laid in the bedrooms, the mailbox had been replaced, as
well as all of the plants that the original owner had planted in front of the house before we moved inThe front walkway had been repaired/replaced and painted, the roof overhang was clear of all that nasty black mold, and the roof looked nice and clean, etc Even the back patio had been newly paintedOf course, that is only what was visible to the naked eye...only Tricon knows for sure if the real issues under the surface were actually resolvedUpon speaking with the workers (who came all the way from Boca Raton), I was given a tour and told that they had found mold on the walls in the spare bedroom, (gee, what a surprise...and yet the "powers-that-be" at Tricon denied that)I also noticed that the septic tank people still had not finished their work, and the workmen informed me that since they have been there, the septic tank had caused the toilet to overflow and the toilet water got the new carpeting wet in the same bedroom
I used to sleep inThe same bedroom where the carpet had been contaminated with dirty toilet water (containing urine and feces) when the septic system broke down back in August 2015, and I was expected to live with that, because Tricon did not care enough about me or my/our health to replace that contaminated carpeting!!
The workmen told me that people had come to spray for termites in the garage and attic, and that the water coming out of the faucet still reeked of sulfur During my tour I also noticed that the disgusting old refrigerator we had to use, had been replaced, among other thingsAll of this confirms my suspicions that the "powers-that-be" at Tricon ignored our complaints and did not give a damn about us as tenants, nor about our health Rather than make repairs, get rid of mold, and be up to code, etcTricon just let us live there
with termites, mold, nasty water, bad plumbing, etc I threw out so many of my belongings that were damaged by the (supposedly non-existent) mold inside that house And, I spent a lot of money on doctors and medication to treat my mold allergies, asthma, etcIt disgusts me to think about the lack of concern shown us by the people that own and work for TriconEven giving Tricon notice that we were going to vacate did not get a response from anyone until it was time to "inspect" the premisesWe were never even contacted about renewing or not renewing our leaseTrican did little-to-nothing to address our concerns because obviously making repairs would have cut into their profitsTricon obviously did/does not care that people are actually being inconvenienced or that their health is being jeopardizedInstead, Tricon "hired" people to come to the house to "act" as if they were checking out and bidding on the duct cleaning,
the mold issue, etc Tricon saw no problem with making our lives miserable so that we would have no choice but to move out, meanwhile, Tricon obviously had no remorse about "demanding" and threatening us about our rent (which we always paid in advance) each monthThe only thing that Tricon did do, was to (temporarily, but not even officially) offer to let us out of the lease and then showed us a smaller, more expensive, rat trap of a house in a ghetto area of town where I would have been afraid to liveAfter my/our experience with Tricon, and after reading reviews about Tricon on Facebook, Yelp, etcI don't understand how the people that run Tricon and/or work for Tricon can sleep at night!! On the other hand, considering what the Republicans are doing to destroy this country...I guess I do understand It's all about power and money (greed)...not about the actual welfare of the peopleShame on all of you!!!
Again...my security deposit refund should be sent to the address below It is the very least Tricon can do, considering how they
(mis) treated us

This is probably the most AWFUL company I have EVER dealt with The agents and property managers are some of the most unprofessional people around When you can ever manage to get them to actually answer their phones their lies start immediately They will promise getting back to you and you will never hear from them againyou then have to try calling them again, but wait, now they screen your number and wont answer their phoneso you try leaving them a message asking for them to get back to you and even this doesn't work The only time you can manage to talk to them is if they want more money from youIt doesn't even matter if you call the main office number to try and talk to somebody higher up in the company as they will always feed you a line of BS and transfer you to the person that wont answer your callI'm so frustrated with this company right now and I Don't know why anybody would even consider letting this company mange their property

I am a home owner, I am also a landlord who just happens to be renting from TRICONAfter moving in the AC and Pool pump did not workI was informed that it had not worked for months since IRMA hit in September I was unaware of this and of course we notified themThe AC was fixed or days laterThey keep saying they have a work order out to the pool company however the Pool company said they have been sending TRICON notices since Sept that the pump was broken and no responseWe are being lied to and our children have gotten sick after swimming in this pool before we knew it had not been filteredThe pool company is able to keep it from turning color but the disease within is not being filtered out...This Is my public attempt to fix this situation after trying repeatedly through email and phonesI am a reasonable person and I am also a landlordThis type of business practice is unethicalI pay my rent you take care of your homeI keep the house prestige and take care of it as it is my own...You want people like myself in your homeNext will be civil

I currently rent a home from Tricon, which I began leasing 7/25/after a move across the countryUpon arrival to the home, it was extremely dirty, had an ant infestation (which the realtor told me to deal with myself) and the pool (a major reason the cost of the property was exorbitant) was a foot low on water, green, and had tadpoles swimming in itI have made numerous complaints since my arrival, including to the realtor who indicated it was "move in ready" the night before we arrived, and while the company attempted to offer a cleaning service to make up for the state of the home when I moved in, the pool has been a continuous and arduous battleIn now nearly weeks of living there the pool has been usable for days, and repeated attempts to contact higher ups in the company yielded no outcomeI could deal with the house being full of shoddy craftsmanship, it needing major repairs since moving in (which the company did deal with), and even that they are not about customer se

I started renting my house from Silverbay property back in My lease end date ALWAYS ended on 12/in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, Without my knowledge once Tricon purchased out Silverbay they decided to change my lease end date to 12/to stop from having so many month end move outsI signed my lease not noticing the lease end change dateI'm in the process of moving out and they charged me an additional They fee was for days at the higher rent amount and days prorated month to month fee which is ridiculousI have been questioning my lease end date and only explanation I recieved was YOU SIGNED A LEGAL CONTRACT until I escalated for answers on why after all these years my lease end date changedI've never been late paying rent in years so the final month of me there I feel they nickle and dime you out of additional moneyThey refused to work with me even though my question about the date change sat in someone spam inbox unansweredIf I honestly had ample notice I would have been moved by lease end dateThis company is terrible for treating a year renter like thisYour not valued your just a number

I lived in the home at *** *** *** *** for almost two yearsI had a few difficulties when I was in the home with my then husband having surgery, job layoff, and my own emergency surgeryThey were fine to work with until I was moving outMy now ex-husband emptied our joint bank account and left me to cover a returned checkI planned to honor thatI also had no issue with honoring a few of the items listed such as one of the blinds in the master bedroom had to be replacedI was charged for painting the entire home, which is sq ft; there was nothing wrong with the paint other than a stencil had to be taken down and it was not glued downI was also charged for pressure washing the home which was not done at the time I moved inI was charged for an additional month of rent because the keys were sent to them in the mail and they reached them after the first of the next monthI want a fair an equitable settlement for both Tricon and myselfI even asked them to split the cha

Back in May of 2018, I received a certified letter in the mail from FL Legal GroupAccording to the document, Tricon has never paid the HOA from Jan 1, I sent the copy of the letter to Tricon and they advised me that everything was handledFast forward to October 8, at 8:00PMI was served foreclosure papersThis is absolutely ridiculous! I need them to take care of this issue immedately!

I have lived in a home managed by this company for over years at this pointI always knew they were cheap and wanted to cut corners but I didn't have anything serious go wrong where they refused to fix itHowever I have been without AC in 110+ degree weather going on three days now! I have called times and received one phone call from an employee trying to give me a time frameI've been told everything from someone will be there today, to we haven't gotten a response from any of our contractors, to somehow I see that it was put in as an emergency but was actually listed under high insteadI've been told that someone accepted it, people would follow up, the main dispatcher would contact me and still have nothing! It has been consistently over degrees in my house and this company apparently can't fix it! One rep even told me to call and report it because emergencies can't be ignored and that the response time was unacceptable! And he works for there! I'm so fed up with this company giving me the run around! No one knows what is going on, apparently their after hours crew can't see what their standard customer service crew said/didAt this point I'm ready to pay someone to fix it and when I move out take the parts that were used to fix it with me! I understand it's a holiday weekend but not all of your local contractors have been busy with emergencies constantly for days!

I recently moved out of one of Tricon American Homes propertiesI signed a month leaseMy lease agreement ended December 31st I left the house in great condition and now they are $my security depositThey are claiming that I am responsible for things I should not be held responsible forPrior to me moving in I did a walk through with an agent to note all the things that were wrong with the inside of the houseOnce I moved out I performed another walk through with a different agent, but this time the agent was noting things that were wrong with the inside and the outside of he houseMy dispute is that they are trying to hold me accountable for things such as the carpet and the flooringI have pictures and video of the condition of the carpet and flooring prior to me moving in and when I moved outThey are also claiming that I moved out after my move out dateI have emails with the manager that dates that I moved out as scheduledI am currently disputing these c

Currently looking for a new place to liveFound a number of properties with Tricon American HomesThe initial contacts with the company started greatWe were able to meet with a leasing agent who showed us a number of propertiesOn the visit the agent mentioned that there was $non-refutable application fee as well as a $hold which would be refunded in the event of being declined for the home or no longer wanting the homeAlso the agent informed that there was going to be a $pet fee with $additional to rent each month for the pet fee
My family and I expressed further interested and proceeded to apply for a home with Tricon American Homes
After being approved this is where the company and its many employees changed their demeanor towards the sale
Management at Tricon American Homes told us we would need to pay $pet fee as well as $per month for the petWe explained that their leasing agent less than a week ago told us something different and expre

I rented a home this company managed from June 2014-May My family experienced excessively high electric bills the entire time which we paidAfter several complaints and repeated requests over the years asking for repair of the HVAC UNIT and electric inspection the company was not only untimely in thier responses but they also never repaired the problem We were always on time with rent payments but the burden of electric bills as high as $per month caused by the faulty electric wiring was overwhelmingAs tenants we were forced to exercise our right to vacate due to Tricon failing to uphold the landlord-tenant duties outlined in the leaseUltimately it was confirmed in in May after thorough inspection by thier contractor *** that indeed the problem was caused by the wiring of the HVAC and throughout the homeTricon admitted thier fault and liability for not providing timely repairs, agreed to dissolve the lease, however has ignored or request for payment of the rema

On Oct2, I called (Tricon) three times that day to ask questions about their process for leasingAfter speaking with two different people I was told that I needed my driver license and pay stubs (only) uploaded due to my pay schedule to be considered for the processAfter that point I did an application to lease a house from this company on Oct3, on their websiteMy mother also had to do an application online which she completed on Oct .5, At that time we both had to pay a $application fee per person and a $holding feePayment was submitted and automatically an email was sent to both of us with a response (once we hit enter on their website) for an approvalThe email stated that our application for *** *** *** *** (Concord NC) has been approved pending upload proof of identification and income which was doneThis same day Oct5, my mother received a phone call and was asked questions and based on her answers was told by Tricon that

I own my home and the beside me is managed by Tricon American homesThe had a water leak in the front yard and it flooded my yard and turned into a mud pitThey eventually hired a contractor to replace the pipe and they put it more than halfway in my front yard I am upset and want my front yard the sodded and the pipe redone and put in the correct propertyI contacted the company and have gotten no resolutionI had my front yard tore up and my property damaged and I am not happyI now have a pipe in my yard that belongs to the house next door and I am not going to be responsible if it burstI am trying to get the company to make it rightI just want the pipe to be put in the correct yard and my front yard soddedI have suffered property damage and undo stress from tracking mud in my houseI spent hours for days cleaning up the mud that was tracked in my house from the mud pit that took weeks to fixI had to steam clean my carpets and incurred undue expensesI am very mad

DO NOT RENT with this companyIf you value your time and money, save yourself the hassle and rent with someone (ANYONE) else
We rented a home in Porter TXOur a/c thermostat was broken for about months costing us $450-$in electric bills EVERY MONTHThey kept sending out terrible help that would tell me what the problem could be, leave, and never come back to FIX it I seen like different "technicians" until one finally fixed itSame thing with our septic system, that was STILL not fixed before we left
They told us we would get compensated through our rent ledgers, which happened once for like $So the women (more than one, yes...about -AT THE HOUSTON BRANCH Angela, Jennifer, Amanda, Yolanda) who handled our case at different times informed us that they would come up with a reduced rent price for one more month(November)Everyone was all good and understanding until months later, still no word on that months rentJust an EVICTON NOTICE months before our lease is up because we were waiting on a number from them!!!
It feels criminal, what they did to my family and IWe are so glad to be DONE with this company! I will never reccommed them to anyoneWorst rental experience ever! I feel bad for the people who get that home next...they will probably deal with the problems we had that never got fixed

It has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE since Tricon took over SilverbayThe maintenance response has been UTTERLY EMBARRASSINGIn June, our A/C went out in the middle of the day on a SaturdayI immediately called and made a maintenance requestI was told they would contact a vendor and someone would be out as soon as possibleSeveral hours later, Tricon called back and said they couldn't find someone to come out because they couldn't find a vendor that services my area, but someone would definitely be to the house on SundayI ended up having to put my large family in a hotel room for the nightSunday came and wentI talked to Tricon multiple times and all they ever said was that they could not find a vendor that services my areaMy family again had to stay in a hotel roomTricon said someone would definitely be out to the house on MondayMonday afternoon came and Tricon still had not found a vendorAfter multiple phone calls and raising enough fuss, I finally got to speak to someone in my "local" Tricon officeTracy D*** (portfolio manager) assured me that someone would be outI finally got tired of waiting and my family needed to be able to go back homeSo I called my own repair guyHe was there within hoursAnd he had the problem fixed in under an hour
I called Tricon and explained that it cost a lot of money to put my family in a hotel room and I had to pay out of pocket for the A/C repairTracy D*** emailed me and me to send her my hotel bill and repair bill and she would submit it for approval for reimbursementAfter another week of calling and emailing with no response, she finally responded that Tricon would reimburse me for the repair, but only $a day for the hotel! Tricon expects a large family to be able to stay in a hotel for only $a day?! I explained to her that she never mentioned a limit for reimbursement and that this was unacceptableShe told me she would get in touch with her bossIt's been several days since I've heard from her nowIts ridiculous that this company expects a family to pay out of pocket to stay at a hotel for more than $a day
Last week, we went through the same type of issue with a busted water pipe in the front yardIt burst in the middle of the day on a week dayWe immediately reported it, but Tricon claimed they couldn't find a vendor that services my areaIt took them a day and a half to get someone to come repair it
How are you a national rental company, but you can't find vendors that service areas where you own property?
Lately, I have tried to call two different people in my local Tricon office: Tracy D*** and Abby B***Neither one of them ever answer their phone or return phone callsThis is pathetic customer serviceI will not be renewing my lease at the end of this term and if I could find a way to get out of the lease I have now without paying an absurdly high penalty, I would

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I know for a fact that I never listed the house I was applying for as my home address on the applicationThis company is just full of lies.
Regards,
*** ***

This company has been horrible at addressing maintenance issuesMy air conditioning unit stop functioning when it was degrees in PhoenixThe company was unresponsive and rude when calls were made to address the issueMy home was over degrees inside, which is a safety issueThe work was finally completed three days laterIn trying to address my dissatisfaction with the company's handling of this issue, the customer service representive was rude and ultimately hung up on meThis is totally unacceptable to hang up on a customerI would not recommend renting property from this company

Our own realtor found a Tricon rental and took us to see itWhen she called to start the application for us, no one returned her call for weeksI called headquarters only to find the house had been rented a week before we saw itIt came back on the market and the rental process went fairly smoothlyThe house is priced above market for it's type the area, but it looked nice and was where we wanted to beWe moved in December 10th - months ago
The dishwasher had not been installed as promisedWhen they came a few days later, it took THREE DAYS for the installer to get the job done and had destroyed the cabinet doing itI insisted he fix it which took another day
Right after Christmas the master on suite shower started leaking into the garageAfter inspection, bid and bid approval it was a week before the job was startedFOR THE NEXT THREE DAYS two incompetent plumbers JACK-HAMMERED the entire brand new floor of the bathroom and showerIt became clear why Tricon requires you to have renters insuranceAfter the first day of hours of jack-hammering and concrete dust throughout the house (the plumbers didn't have the money for plastic and tape to seal off the room) we had to leave the house and stay in a hotel for daysMy husband, a decorated Vietnam Vet, was still recovering from chemotherapy and staying in the house was a health hazzard for himTricon didn't pay for the hotel, nor did they give us any rent credit for loss of use which the property manager had promisedThe poor insurance company got hit with the $hotel bill after just one $premium paymentThe short story on this, one of many problems with the house, is that I am sitting here waiting for a plumber to come and fix this same leak for the third time in six months
Two plumbers have come to fix the other bathThere is a crack in the tub that was one of the things we signed on forThere is no way of knowing if water is seeping through the crack and for how long with a disconcerting mold potential underneath the tubThe fixtures don't work and the tub won't hold water The only way to get water into the tub is to turn on the hot water full on but the shower sprays while the tub is filling - broken mechanismI've reported this a few times and vendors have come to inspect but none have come back to repair it
The dishwasher broke after months and had to be replacedThe "new" one doesn't dry the dishes properlyHaven't reported this yet as I'm getting tired of all the problems
In January I reported that the oven heats up OUTSIDE THE UNIT to the temperature of the inside and will burn your hand if you touch itIt also heats up the cabinets and counter around the oven to burn temperaturesSomeone just came today - months later - to check the oven doorApparently all is well with a bottom of the line - swamp bottom - oven
The fridge started leaking water from somewhere onto the top shelves of the fridgeI had been using dish towels to soak up the water and have to change them ever few days as they become soakedWe inspected as closely as we could without taking the back off the fridge and cannot see why this is happeningWe have adjusted the freezer and fridge temp several times hoping that was causing the problem and would fix it but it has notTook a week to get it fixed
There was an electrical problem with some of the plugs and a breaker switch (dis-related)The plug in the master bathroom came out of the wall when I pulled a plug out - it had just been shoved in there, not mounted to anythingWe replaced a ceiling fan ourselves when the low end one broke in our bedroom after a few weeks of useThere was no protective box - just bare wiresBased on the competence of prior vendors, I'm guessing the electrical is not to code
There is a wasp nest inside the walls of the houseA few have made it in the front door to the living room where my year old grandson was playingThey say pests are my problem per the lease agreement, but the wasps are in the walls due to holes left by contractors before we moved in so it's their problem per the lease agreementIt has been weeks since I reported itThey did send someone who simply knocked off a small mud daub nest and "couldn't find any holes" even though I had sent photosI have since sent photos times but for some mysterious reason they don't get themThey get all the other photos I send, but not theseSame camera, same method of sending them
The fan in the attic broke affecting the A/CIt took several days to get it handledFortunately it was not hot, but it's just another thing on the list that happened in the first months
Here's how it works, so be preparedSomething goes wrongYou report it online or by phoneSomeone comes in a day or maybe a week later to inspect, take photos and place a bid for the jobThe bid is reviewed over the next day or week or so and approvedThe vendor makes an appointment with you that day and hopefully you aren't going anywhere, or a week or so later when you can be home all dayThey "fix" the problem hopefully for good, or like in my case, the cycle starts again
This company is penny wise and pound foolishIf they hired competent vendors in the first place for a few more dollars and spent a few more dollars on even slightly better quality appliances and fixtures their tenants wouldn't be excessively inconvenienced like we have and I'm sure it would save them money and increase profits
If you notice other reviews here, the only good ones are about the signing processThe rest are 1-star CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTIONBut why should they care? They've got you locked in for a year and they'll make a good profit even if you leave and they have to start all overI'm guessing getting our deposit back will be a fight over some petty issue
