The deserve zero stars: We have been in our house for 5 years. We have put in several maintenance request to have the washing machine repaired. Finally on the 24th I receive a call from Jackie in the maintenance dept. saying that they aren't responsible for fixing the washer and that we have to pay for the repair ourself or purchase one ourselves. I told her that the washer and dryer came with the house and that they repaired it 2 years ago. She said my request was cancelled . So I pulled out my lease and it does not a say we are responsible for repairs. I tried calling today was told that they will email the property manager to have them call me. That was around 9:30 this morning and no call yet . Tricon was great in the beginning but now they are the worst. I will never ever refer anyone to them!

I would also give zero stars if I could.

We have been excellent tenants for multiple years. The houses appear nice on the exterior but the interior is very, very cheap and falls apart easily. We do all of our own minor maintenance and we constantly get compliments on how nicely we maintain our unit.

I have been asked to give a positive review of the company in the past in exchange for a starbucks giftcard and then never received the starbucks giftcard.

It is a huge hassle to deal with management and maintenance when scheduling any maintenance. The maintenance techs cancel multiple times, show up unannounced and have done subpar work that we have then had to fix. Management simply blows it off and says that there is nothing that they can do. Extremely poor customer service.

We have also had to deal with many issues with other tenants and Tricon did not step in. Multiple animals would roam around off-leash and poop in our yard multiple times per day and destroy flowers. Police have been called because other tenants were too rowdy or violent. The first year that they raised our rent, they told us that they couldn't reward us for being good tenants because we hadn't complained about all the infractions our neighbors were committing. The following year, I notified them of each infraction that I was victim to or witnessed and they raised our rent again and said that they couldn't do anything about the other tenants.

Deserves zero stars. Lost the renewal lease then called me 3 months later stating they will send me an email notifying me of their significant increase in rent. Notified them same day emailed received (2 weeks left in the month) of my not renewing lease. Moved and turned keyed house in 2 weeks and was completely out. Called on 4th of September for a walk-through appointment, representative as a no call and now show. Called corporate office in California, made them aware of no call and no show. Rescheduled for the following Monday. Same thing happened; waited 40 minutes, no call, no show. Again made corporate office aware of the shoddy performance of local representatives.
Made application for new housing. New housing manager requested rental verification multiple times and they never returned the requested information. Called California and they sent a rental ledger. Tried to transfer utilities only to find out someone from Tricon had placed services in their name, violating their own lease agreement. This company will get what they deserve. All those doing wrong will pay dearly for their miss treatment of others.

Worst ever...applied and got approved in June, never even got to see the home till Sept 13th. They pushed back my move in date 4 times after I had the utilities connected and disconnected. Shanae Wiggins was rude and could care less. Needless to say I got married and we never had a home to come home to because of all the delays and unorganized communication this company has.

Never again Tricon.
Hope you go out of business.

I moved out on 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing from these people about my security deposit. I see mentions of a move out walk through, but was never contacted for that. I've emailed and even provided payment history, I've called the local office and the home office and no one can tell me anything. I'm glad I downloaded the lengthy maintainance request history because my account has been wiped clean. has anyone else had difficulty getting monies owed back from Tricon?

I have not had a good experience with this company. I put in about 4 applications and sent an email requesting my money back. I kept getting emails that the property was available and to finish my application . I completed applications to no avail..properties are not available as they said..
This is very unprofessional. No one answers, emails or phone calls. I will not ever recommend this company to anyone as they in my experience unreliable.

01-2018 Response from Tricon American Homes:We would like to thank Ms. [redacted] for taking the time to express her concerns to us, regarding her move-in experience (Reference Revdex.com Complaint # [redacted]). July 25, 2016, Ms. [redacted] moved into her new rental home. She reported that the home was dirty and...

that the pool looked uncared for. Tricon American Homes offered to have a cleaning service come clean them home. Additionally they issued rent concessions to cover multiple days of rent and pool maintenance. We appreciate Ms. [redacted] bringing her concerns to our attentions so that we could work with her offline in addressing them. As of June 1, 2017, Ms [redacted] has signed another 12-month lease agreement with Tricon American Homes. We look forward to continuing to serve her in excellence.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Tricon admittedly did not respond to this concern in a timely manner.  The dates listed in this response did not include over 10-20 times we corresponded about the issue (see few attachments, more available upon request).  We spent so much time reaching out to Tricon from Sept 2015 until move out May 2016.  It is only after I decided I had had enough of their delayed responses and the unresolved issue, did I send an email/letter stating my intent to move.  Tricon THEN issued a 3 day notice to me/my family.  I did not send them a 3 day notice.  I agreed to comply and move out because the electric issue remained unresolved.  Tricon is also not mentioning the electric company [redacted] who came out in the last week I was there.  The contractor was finally able to identify the problem.  The rep determined that the home needed rewiring, and the HVAC was actually over working due to a mismatch with the required energy vs the breaker wattage.  The answer to the problem came just a little too late.  My family suffered a great deal of discomfort over this ordeal, financial issues, and many cold nights.  Tricon did not respond timely to any requests, was very dismissive at times, and after I ageed to move was not willing to pay the remainder of the electric bill.  What I am requesting is not even half of the amount I paid over my tenancy in the home with faulty wiring.  It is not fair for Tricon to apologize for never resolving the issues, reply to requests months late at times, and ultimately admit the issue is in the wiring, yet be unwilling to share in the financial burden.  After I moved, I made attempts to contact the companies highest executives in writing certified letters to at least three.  I sent the letters to explain the hardship, and explain the issues I had as a tenant.  I did not receive a response from anyone.I have all the emails, etc. as proof of my persistence to get this fixed.  I did not want to move my family but with consistently high electric bills and unreliable and slow assistance from Tricon. we no choice.
Regards,
[redacted]

Do you have the property you applied for and I'll be able to help? We do not have homes in Virginia

The worst experience with this company....nobody answer respond to emails or voicemails....had multiple issues just filing an application...website would not let me add documents and tried to call and have fix on one or more occasion when I finally thought everything went through on my side my application was cancel with a email and name to send in the items I believed I already sent but once again the website did not except tried to call and ask Manager questions and emails keep getting the run around from receptions and never an response but they took my money of course I'm am not satisfied....I would not recommend this company....I don't even want to finish this long process of the application going on 3 weeks and surprisingly it's still on the market just to take people money for applications and act like there website failed...

They still pocketed my money and refused to provide a refund of our application that was never processed or even provide the decency to return my phone calls. And now here we are 7 months after my initial complaint to say well in the future we will do better. They need to refund my application fee in order to rectify the situation.
