WebsiteBackup Reviews (199)

My company in MN also received a fraudulent invoice for $70. There were no disclaimers indicating that it is not, in fact, a bill ... which according to law it MUST have. My research has revealed that this is an illegal act. WebsiteBackup, LLC needs to be investigated by the authorities and shut down.

Website Backup is a dirty business. We received an "Account Summary" that looked like a bill. Fortunately, we didn't blindly send in the $70.00 payment and actually researched it. Yelp had lots of reviews from people who had received the same mailing. There is no telling how many people were tricked into signing up for their service through this. Any business worth working with would not need to stoop to this kind of misrepresentation.

I received an invoice dated 3/16/15 for an annual website backup service. It even had an account number and our website listed on it. I have never ordered any backup service from this company or had any contact with them. I just read several other complaints from other people of the same nature. I've seen similar "invoices" that are really a solicitation for business but there is no mention anywhere that this is a solicitation for business. This is a scam.

On March 26, 2015 I received a physical letter by [redacted] of "Account Summary" which was to made to look like an invoice. It was for services not provided nor requested.
I have reported this to the [redacted] Postal Inspection Service

we received an invoice from WebsiteBackup, complete with a tear-off mailback stub. We have no such business relationship with this company, yet they have the correct address of our company and the way the billing states is that we pay for a "WebsiteBackup Pro"
with no other services included "free"...

I received a bill for $70.00 annual fee for web hosting and backup for my company website. We use another company and have not looked to replace them. For as small as we are, it is not likely that an invoice would get paid without a full review. I made sure with my owner and employees involved with our website to see if they had been shopping for better web hosting companies and nobody had. When researching online I found the following reviews where people said they had received invoices for services they had never asked for or received. I called the customer service number listed to see how and when they managed to get our information and set up an account but I got a voice machine saying the wait time was high (about 24 minutes) and that they would call me back. It's been a couple days now and still no phone call.

Received an invoice from this company for web site backup. Never heard of this company nor have I ever requested any service from them. I have no need for the services they are billing for. When I call to question the invoice there is a recording that the wait times are 20+ minutes and to leave a message. Have not received any call back.

Websitebackup has been a savior to our small retail shop! Our online store is the main source for shoppers to visit us from out of town and it out performs our retail store in profits. Two years ago we had a crash and lost thousands of dollars in sales over it. Now that we have Websitebackup our site has been able to stay up and recover from crashes easier than ever. We have had a very positive experience with Websitebackup. We would highly recommend them.

Website Backup sends out bogus bill made to look like an invoice hoping you will pay. DO NOT PAY. Total Scam. They do not answer phone calls or take you off their mailing list.
SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.

I received an invoice stating I owe them $70. I have never even heard of them. They have you leave a message and say they'll call you in 22 min. I left 3 different messages and finally heard back from a call center 2 days later. She told me there's no money due but asked me if I would like to use their services. What kind of marketing scam is that? I asked her if I could talk to a supervisor. Thats when she said it is a call center and they have no number to reach someone at the company.

Received an invoice at work today. This company stole at least 20 minutes of my time while I figured out it was a completely bogus invoice for services never asked for. Very deceptive practice they are indulging in...is this form of solicitation even legal? It shouldn't be.

Like the rest, I received a fake $70 invoice. It sure looks real but it's not. No one ever answers phone. You always get the same wait time when you call, when ever you call.

I received an invoice for $70 for website backup services that I did not request. I have never contacted this company about providing service. I believe this is a phishing scam.

Same as above. Rec'd what looks like an invoice reference my real website. Knew that my backup was free with GoDaddy so called them to report the scam/phishing incident as well.
Tried to call the #. Recording said there was a 27 minute wait time and I could leave a message; during the transfer to leave a message I was cut off.
After reading the reports here, I will ignore the invoice and not bother calling them.

Upon receiving an invoice for services never rendered I called the so called Website Backup to only get an automated service that no matter which extension you choose it waits a few seconds and then goes.. Due to the high volume of calls your wait time is 32 minutes. Then it sends u to a generic voice mail service. And no one EVER calls you back. Contacted Revdex.com and they have had over 60 complaints about this company!!!! Do not do business with this company!

I also received a fraudulent invoice for $70 - when I tried to call them to check into it there was a 22 minute hold time and they automatically sent my call to voice mail - big surprise!!.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - ITS A SCAM!!

We received a bill for $70 for services never requested. Name of the company is WebsiteBackup Company. Uses a drop box type mail service. Can you say, "FRAUD"?

BOGUS INVOICE: Beware! These fake invoices are going to multiple businesses. File a complaint with the USPS also. The invoice, as with the others reporting, is for $70.00 website backup.

Our company received an invoice for services that were never ordered. When I called the number on the invoice, their message said they are experience longer than normal wait time and my call would be answered in 32 minutes, then it was followed by a message saying I was being transferred to the support team mail box and to leave my account number and call back information. I am concerned that this is a scam.

Company sends out bogus invoices showing an annual charge for a Website Backup Service Plan that has not been ordered by your company. Payment stub warns you not to send cash or post-dated checks. Cancellation policy offers a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial plan sign-up date, but the sign-up date is considered to be the date they receive your payment. After that period there are no refunds. When you call the number given on the invoice, you receive no answer and in order to get anywhere you have to enter your account number from the invoice. The website is shown in fine print on back of invoice as the 'general promotional website' and is maintained to inform visitors about their branded services and products offered. 'Any information transmitted to WebsiteBackup through the website by a visitor is considered non-confidential and may be used by WebsiteBackup in its sole discretion'. I believe this to be an attempt to get your personal information and to collect funds for something that you never ordered or requested.
