WebsiteBackup Reviews (199)

Upon receiving an invoice for services never rendered I called the so called Website Backup to only get an automated service that no matter which extension you choose it waits a few seconds and then goes.. Due to the high volume of calls your wait time is 32 minutes. Then it sends u to a generic voice mail service. And no one EVER calls you back. Contacted Revdex.com and they have had over 60 complaints about this company!!!! Do not do business with this company!

As others have indicated, my business received a $70 invoice-like letter from WebsiteBackup Company. At first I was confused because I didn't remember ordering their service at all and then I remembered that I never had ordered their service. This is a pretty sneaky and underhanded way to advertise their business, but also quite unethical. How many businesses unwittingly sent them a check? Well not this one and hopefully you don't either.

Scam $70 invoice. I will report to USPS as well as the above reviewer

This company sends out what appears to be an invoice in the amount of $70.00 for a website backup service plan. Upon reading the very small print on the back of the invoice, it is apparent that you have not even signed up for this service.

We received a very legitimate looking bill for $70 from these people, saying we owed for "backing up our web site." We've never heard of them before, never hired them or contracted with them to perform any services to our web site. A quick internet search revealed that their m.o. is to send out fake bills in hopes that someone will just pay them without checking. Their web site has the "mailto:" link intentionally disabled.

This company sent us an invoice in the amount of $70 for website backup services. We have never done business with this company, but there is an account number on the invoice. Our accounting almost paid it, luckily they contacted our IT guy first who handed it off to the web guy (me).

Website Backup is a dirty business. We received an "Account Summary" that looked like a bill. Fortunately, we didn't blindly send in the $70.00 payment and actually researched it. Yelp had lots of reviews from people who had received the same mailing. There is no telling how many people were tricked into signing up for their service through this. Any business worth working with would not need to stoop to this kind of misrepresentation.

We received the same "solicitation" mailer as the others.
If you wish to believe the company when they state the confusion was unintentional and they have since stopped using it, go ahead, but this mailer is clearly intended to look like an invoice or statement with an account number and payment stub.
I don't know what your definition of a scam is, but this fits mine.

Company sends out bogus invoices showing an annual charge for a Website Backup Service Plan that has not been ordered by your company. Payment stub warns you not to send cash or post-dated checks. Cancellation policy offers a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial plan sign-up date, but the sign-up date is considered to be the date they receive your payment. After that period there are no refunds. When you call the number given on the invoice, you receive no answer and in order to get anywhere you have to enter your account number from the invoice. The website is shown in fine print on back of invoice as the 'general promotional website' and is maintained to inform visitors about their branded services and products offered. 'Any information transmitted to WebsiteBackup through the website by a visitor is considered non-confidential and may be used by WebsiteBackup in its sole discretion'. I believe this to be an attempt to get your personal information and to collect funds for something that you never ordered or requested.

I received an official looking invoice for $70 from this company. It was unsolicited and I do not intend to respond

This company send what appears to be an invoice via the US mail. The invoice is for $70USD for back up service for a website. When you try to call the company to inquire further the automated system requires you to put in the 10-digit "account number" that appears on the invoice. Wait times will be extremely long 20+ minutes.

When I finally spoke with someone, the hard sales pitch kicked in. Essentially they are searching the WHOIS database to see who will simply pay the $70 and who won't. Pretty much a scam.

We also received a "bill" for $70 from this company. It looks just like a real bill and I read through the whole thing and it doesn't state that its an advertisement. I decided to check them out here and see that its an on going problem. just wanted to report it.

I am so glad I checked out Revdex.com as we received a $70 invoice as well. This is a fraudulent invoice and the company is unreachable. I hope that the owner of this company gets arrested for trying to steal money from small businesses.

Like the other reviewers, I received a fake invoice for $70 noting they have rendered services regarding to my website. This is a terrible company, should be sued, and put out of business.

This 'company' sent a very real looking invoice for $70 for services I did not order nor need. When I tried to contact them I was put into a hold cue that was 32 minutes and then pushed into a voicemail. I left a message and was never contacted back. We will not be paying this and I would hope that no other companies fall for their ILLEGAL tactics.

My company in MN also received a fraudulent invoice for $70. There were no disclaimers indicating that it is not, in fact, a bill ... which according to law it MUST have. My research has revealed that this is an illegal act. WebsiteBackup, LLC needs to be investigated by the authorities and shut down.

WebsiteBackup Company is committed to providing high quality backup solutions at a fair and competitive price. We have carefully checked our records and this person is NOT AN EXISTING CUSTOMER of ours. It has recently come to our attention that a commercial solicitation was sent out to businesses...

that may have caused some confusion. If any business has received a solicitation that was not marked "Bill" or "Invoice" they are under no obligation to pay. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and will no longer use that solicitation in the future.WebsiteBackup Company

I have been a happy WebsiteBackup customer for over two years now. Our website is vital part of our family owned jewelry business as almost one-third of our sales come from the Internet. We cannot afford to have our website go down or to rebuild it after a crash. WebsiteBackup takes all the mystery and difficulty out of it. Our IT professional recommended WebsiteBackup and we're glad he did!

We received an unsolicited invoice from this company in the mail. We went to their website and submitted an online request for information regarding who at our company initiated the request for their service. There has been no response. The invoice is very misleading! NO WHERE on the invoice does it indicate that this is an advertisement.

I received this phishing invoice for $70 recently so they are still sending this scam mail out. I also contacted my [redacted] to alert their consumer complaint dept.
