WebsiteBackup Reviews (199)

Received unsolicited bill for $70 dated 3/16/15 for my website for an annual charge for which I made no such request for their services. This is fraud. I tried calling their phone number. Upon answering they require entry of their erroneous account number they established for us and then we are told there will be a customer service rep in 21 minutes.

This business sends out fake invoices by mail. They say you owe $70.00, but for services you have not requested. Buyer beware.

This company should be shut down and the owner(s) arrested for sending out invoices to companies for services not rendered. We have never heard of them until today. We will never use their services. We can do it ourselves far cheaper than they can.

we received an invoice from WebsiteBackup, complete with a tear-off mailback stub. We have no such business relationship with this company, yet they have the correct address of our company and the way the billing states is that we pay for a "WebsiteBackup Pro"

with no other services included "free"...

WebsiteBackup invoiced our company for service that was never authorized, and was unreachable by phone except for endless looped recordings, one citing a "26 minute wait" due to heavy volume. Sure.

Scam Alert! Company sent me a fake invoice for $70 in violation of Title 39, United States Code, Section 3001.

On March 26, 2015 I received a physical letter by [redacted] of "Account Summary" which was to made to look like an invoice. It was for services not provided nor requested.

I have reported this to the [redacted] Postal Inspection Service

I received a bill for $70.00 annual fee for web hosting and backup for my company website. We use another company and have not looked to replace them. For as small as we are, it is not likely that an invoice would get paid without a full review. I made sure with my owner and employees involved with our website to see if they had been shopping for better web hosting companies and nobody had. When researching online I found the following reviews where people said they had received invoices for services they had never asked for or received. I called the customer service number listed to see how and when they managed to get our information and set up an account but I got a voice machine saying the wait time was high (about 24 minutes) and that they would call me back. It's been a couple days now and still no phone call.

Company is a scam. Trying to trick business owners into thinking they owe them $70 for backing up of their website. Do not contact them or pay them.

Like the rest, I received a fake $70 invoice. It sure looks real but it's not. No one ever answers phone. You always get the same wait time when you call, when ever you call.

received bill for services that were never rendered. We have never conducted business with or interacted with this company at all and received a bill for $70.00. Attempted to call and was unableto speak with anyone when I attempted to contact the company regarding their error.

Received what looks like a legitimate bill for their services which was not true. I've never used this company or hired them for anything and yet received this bill for $70.00.

This company submitted two invoices to us for payment. Each invoice was for $70. I have seen "resolutions" where this company claims they are "advertisements" and do not say bill or invoice, however the paper says nothing about an advertisement and is presented identical to a bill with a detachable portion at the bottom to submit with your payment and an account number that goes with an account that has already been created in your name without your permission. I have called four times now. Each time I have been given a wait time of over 20 minutes (after having to enter my "account" number) regardless of the number I press to speak to a department, followed by a request to leave a message. I have left two messages and have received no phone calls in return. This does not appear to be a legitimate business, it appears to be a scam.

Received an invoice from this company for web site backup. Never heard of this company nor have I ever requested any service from them. I have no need for the services they are billing for. When I call to question the invoice there is a recording that the wait times are 20+ minutes and to leave a message. Have not received any call back.

I received an invoice showing a balance of $ 70.00 for therer back up service plan...

We have not subscribed or use their services.

I called to investigate this invoice, and was unable to get through, had to wait 30 minutes, I was able to leave a voice message.

I have not heard back.

I also emailed this company, and have not heard back.

I believe this is fraudulent behavior and company should be looked into.

This "company" sent us an account summary for the amount of $70. We have never even heard of them. SCAM. The solicitation appears to be an Account Summary with an account number, date, and detachable portion to return payment. We have never heard of them, worked with them, or requested any of there services. Fake Account # **SSN**

Hello I am a local self-employed web designer located in New Mexico. Recently two of my website clients here in NM have received billing invoices from the business above for services they did not request or authorize. The invoice states it is for annual backup protection for the amount of $70. It includes the company's name, address, domain name and a fictitious account number. I have tried to contact the company via phone and email but have not received a response. I believe this to be false advertising and/or a scam to send out billing invoices to companies for services they have not requested or authorized. BEWARE!!

WebsiteBackup sent a fake invoice via the US Mail to my place of business (a non-profit school). The mail looks like a real invoice and only after reading both sides (front and back) did I find this under their Cancellation Policy:

"We offer a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial WebsiteBackup plan sign up date. Sign up date is considered the date WebsiteBackup receives your payment."

We received a bill for $70 for services never requested. Name of the company is WebsiteBackup Company. Uses a drop box type mail service. Can you say, "FRAUD"?

This company is a scam. We received an " invoice" in the mail complete with our website information, charges, and account number. It stated that we owed 70$. We have never used this company and they do not host our domain name. DO NOT PAY THESE BILLS. If we didn't know our vendors we would have just sent them a check with the 30 other places our office pays. Very deceptive marketing .
