I too was scammed. I made multiple calls to their sales department and customer service department, being put on hold, then being told to leave a call back number due to a 28 to 30 minute wait time. they did call back in the middle of writing this complaint. I should have looked here first.
This company is a scam. We received an " invoice" in the mail complete with our website information, charges, and account number. It stated that we owed 70$. We have never used this company and they do not host our domain name. DO NOT PAY THESE BILLS. If we didn't know our vendors we would have just sent them a check with the 30 other places our office pays. Very deceptive marketing .
We received a bill for $70 for services never requested. Name of the company is WebsiteBackup Company. Uses a drop box type mail service. Can you say, "FRAUD"?
WebsiteBackup sent a fake invoice via the US Mail to my place of business (a non-profit school). The mail looks like a real invoice and only after reading both sides (front and back) did I find this under their Cancellation Policy:
"We offer a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial WebsiteBackup plan sign up date. Sign up date is considered the date WebsiteBackup receives your payment."
The most unethical practice I have seen. Company issues a fake invoice for $70 for a website backup service plan. Looks totally legit, until you read the fine print on the back that states "Sign up date is considered the date WebsiteBackup received your payment." Unbelievable!!
I would definitely recommend Websitebackup. They are a reputable company and we are very satisfied with their service.
We received a bill for $70 for services not requested or signed up for. No place on the invoice did it state solicitation for services. I called the customer service number and Andrew contacted me back. He was unable to provide me with a zero statement or anything other than apologized and stated he cleared the system.
I am a General Contractor and I received an invoice for $70.00 from WebsiteBackup, LLC. I am very aware of the companies I do business with and my monthly billing. Once I received the false invoice, I checked the Revdex.com and have found numerous complaints within two weeks of others receiving these fraudulent invoices. This company is a scam and I will be reporting, once I am finished with my review, and as should all - to the Attorney General, the way this terrible company conducts business. This is theft and those who not know, will pay their fraudulent invoice. This company needs to be shut down!
My client received invoice in mail even though no services requested. Obviously this is a advertisement disguised as a faux invoice.
This "company" sent us an invoice for the amount of $70. We have never even heard of them. SCAM.
This company sends out what I would consider fraudulent invoices for work never performed in hopes that companies will not investigate the invoice and simply pay them. I've called the company repeatedly but they have not returned any of my calls. Companies like this should be shut down.
This business sent my company bills for services that were never ordered. A quick we search shows that many others received the same invoice. Just another scam. The bogus invoice does not say "This is not an invoice" on it like some semi-scams. It was sent from AZ to NY so is mail fraud under federal law.
I received a bill from this company. I do not recall ever having solicited any service from them. The bill makes it appear so. I have tried calling 2 times and am told that the wait time is 30 minutes and then forwarded to a recorded message to leave my account number and call back information. I am concerned that this is a scam.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].I find the apology with their proposed resolution satisfactory. I simply want them to stop advertising with solicitations that appear to be invoices. If they actually stop this practice, I will consider this complaint resolved.
Regards,
It appears this company's idea of an ad is to send a bill for service that has not been ordered. I have received a bill in the mail for $70 for services that were never ordered or rendered. A phone call to the company directs me to an answering machine which phishes for more information.
Same as above. Rec'd what looks like an invoice reference my real website. Knew that my backup was free with GoDaddy so called them to report the scam/phishing incident as well.
Tried to call the #. Recording said there was a 27 minute wait time and I could leave a message; during the transfer to leave a message I was cut off.
After reading the reports here, I will ignore the invoice and not bother calling them.
This company is sending out solicitations that look like invoices in the hopes unsuspecting recipients will just pay $70 for a service they neither asked for or are receiving.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. They send out fake invoices and then make it unable to reach them. Do not send them your money.
Website Backup sends out bogus bill made to look like an invoice hoping you will pay. DO NOT PAY. Total Scam. They do not answer phone calls or take you off their mailing list.
SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.
this business sends out phony invoices in the hopes it will get paid. I have never heard of this company before, but it sent me an invoice for $70.00 for services for backing up my website. Scam.
