Weight Loss Grants Organization Reviews (%countItem)

In August 2017 I applied for the Weight Loss Grant program. I successfully lost the weight that I needed to, and after some back and forth, was finally approved for my grant on August 14, 2019. I have an email from the Weight Loss Grant stating I was approved for $1920. On Sept. 16, 2019 I followed up with the organization as to when I would receive the grant, as I was moving and wanted to make sure it was sent to the correct address. I was advised to update my address through the portal, which I did and was also told I would receive a tracking number when my cheque was sent out.

To date I have not received the grant money or any communication as to when the cheque will be sent out. I attempted to go on to the website today for an update, but the site no longer exists. I know that the organization was closing, but they seem to have disappeared, and I am still waiting for the grant I was told I would receive.

Desired Outcome

I am looking to receive the $1920.00 grant that I was approved for.

I signed on with Dale Wood and got a loan for my weight loss program through ifinance Canada. I lost the weight that I was supposed to lose, I did everything that was asked of me, and what was asked of me changed constantly but I made sure that I was on top of it to fulfill the obligations of the weight loss Grant. months after I had submitted all of my documentation properly I got a message saying that I was denied because I didn't sign a form that they sent to me after receiving my documents and send the form back. That form never made it to me.

Desired Outcome

I want the grant that I worked for paid out to me so that I can *** get on with my life.

Had followed all the Covid-19 direction to simit for grant payout, June 7, 2020. I did receive conformation that they received it. Have not had any response since then. I tried to log in on or around 07/14/20 to get an update and the site was down and the domain was for sale. I followed up with a call on 07/21/20 @ 15:50 left a message and still have not been issued my grant payment.

Desired Outcome

I would like my full grant pay out.

I was approved for a grant in 2017. Upon becoming pregnant in 2018 my grant was placed on hold. In the fall of 2019 I resumed my grant and coordinated with *** via email and phone to resume. Now that I have lost the weight and I'm ready to apply for my grant this organization appears to be gone with no contact to me. I spent $2400 on a weight-loss program and now I have seem to be unable to claim my grant.

Desired Outcome

I would like someone to reach out to me from the grant organization to give me a status update on processing my grant claim I have lost more weight than I was required and I feel like I have been wronged.

I signed up for this weight loss grant because I thought it was a government grant on November 20,2018. I had to pay in full $2,950.00 in full upfront. I achieved my weight loss +1 extra lb. at the exact date. Got my weight in form from my dr submitted all paperwork perfectly and in time. I got nothing back but frustration. I went to their offices 2 and *** told me his name was ***!! (Found out now) ***.

Desired Outcome

REFUND

I enrolled in a weight loss program that guaranteed me 80% of my money back if I lost my goal of 50 lbs. I did such within the time allotted and, followed all criteria during the weighing out process, including attending the Dr.'s office and recording it all on video. This was all done on the exact date I was told which was November 27th. It was confirmed with me that all documentation had been properly submitted, and that my file was under review. I sent a message request a few times for updates to which I was told my file was still under review. I sent a request last Monday July 6th, 2020, and 1 the previous weeks with no response. I go to the website today which no longer seems to exist.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be reimbursed the funds that were promised to me and the reason I signed up for this grant, which is 2000$.

I initiated the "Ontario Weight loss Grant" with "Dalewood" Program Contract on October XX XXXX.
I paid in full the Contract Balance owing on that date Invoice # XXXXXXX.. on the premise if I completed the criteria/fulfillment as clearly outlined I would be Granted back up to 80% of Invoiced amount $ 2,950.00 paid in full by Credit Card. I was serviced @ Trillium Weight Loss (Previously known as Dalewood) by Customer Service Rep ***. I have completed all Documents as required.. I have complied with all of the rules and regulations.. I have made several attempts at getting an update on the progress of my claim, handed it on required date Nov 01st/2019.. with responses initially claiming they were overloaded with processing claims and that I was to be patient. evolving to no response at all.. to then having the website totally gone from the web..

Desired Outcome

I am expecting fulfillment of the Contract on WLGO's end of receiving a Grant Allowance of approximately $2,360.00 for complying with the Contract Obligations as Advertised on National Media.

I followed the Trillium weight loss program. I was compliant with the rules and reporting. I met my goal but I have not received my money. I have tried to contact them several times via phone and email but no one replies. I weighed out and provided all my information on January 13 th

Desired Outcome

They owe me$1250

WLGO date started March 16,2018. end date: Septemer 16, 2019.
I have sent many messages to WLGO's messaging system. I was told that an empoyee will be calling me in March 2020, However I have not heard a thing by email or their messaging system.
I paid $2500.00
I followed all the parameters.
And since completion of the criterion, WLGO has completed another round of weight loss recipients.

Desired Outcome

As the contract says Participants "Get up to $2500.00 for most Weight loss programs." "Up to $3 million in reimbursements grants allocated each year to help people lose weight and take control of their overall health." Where has all the money gone? Resolution: receive the grant I was supposed to get.

Patti B Hi everybody my story is the same as all of you guys. I paid 3000 bucks too and lost all my weight. Did everything 100% We all probable saw the commercial on TV Maybe we should do a class action suite on Dalewood - Trilluim WLGO and The TV network who received $$$ from all of us. They are all responsible...

I successfully completed the program and submitted all the necessary documentation at the exact time frame as indicated by the program along with a video of my weigh in and my doctors proof etc back in Dec 2019. I have reached out a few times and no one has replied or have yet to receive any payment in the mail. This company should be ashamed of themselves. They were quick to take peoples money, quick to close offices like the one in Windsor to leave us to hit our targets on our own. And now no answers from anyone.

In Dec 2018, I entered into a weight loss programmed 80% funded by WLGO, as long as you hit your target by a specific date. Which I did, I followed all criterior and hit my target and weighed out as per company instructions and agreement. I made many attempts even month to follow up with the company and see where my $2500 grant was. I received very little communication and then all com, munition stopped in Feb 2020. I have been waiting for nearly 1 yr to receive my grant.
I have left many voice mail messages, non of which are ever returned, even though they say they will return your call within 1 business day. E-mails are returned, as no longer in use. There is no complaints or customer service department and no way to contact anyone regarding this. I paid a very large sum of money up front, which I should have known better than to do, for a 2 yr weight loss program, which doesn't exist now either.
This company is in breach on their agreement and I am helpless to do anything about it.

Desired Outcome

I wish for the business to make contact with me in person and be able to discuss my case with a person. I also wish to receive my 80% refund which I am entitled to, since I provided all information required and 100% conformed to our contact.

I signed up for the weight loss grants in the Hamilton location of the Dalewood clinic. That clinic has now vanished without a trace or correspondence. Through great effort I was able to complete all aspects of my contract, including those that were changed after the contract was signed. I was told there was a backlog and that a resolution would be made by March 2020, my weigh out was in September 2019.... To this date I have received no information or correspondence regarding the status of my contract. While I understand that I have been taken for a sucker, trying to better my physical health for the future, I feel that the company has taken advantage of people in need for their own personal gain. I only hope that they have the decency to see the error of their greed and issue the contract payments to those who have earned it.
I have waited long enough and the maximum payment owed to me needs to be made. The amount listed on my contract is $2500

Desired Outcome

As stated above, I would like my contact payout sent immediately to the maximum amount owing. Listed as $2500 on my funding certificate.

I signed up to the Weight Loss Grants program in a last ditch effort to lose weight and become healthy. They provided the name of a weight loss program, *** Metabolic Reset, I signed up to this program at a cost of $2,000. In order to received the 80% grant, I was required by Weight Loss Grants to go to my doctor to get weighed and provide weight loss grants with a copy of the weigh-in document from my doctor, which I did. According to my weigh in information I was to lose 43 pounds in order to get my grant. I was very successful with the *** Metabolic Reset program and lost almost 55 pounds, 12 pounds more than I was required to lose in order to get 80% back of the money that I paid to the weight loss program. The term of my contract was six (6) months. I went to my doctor to get weighed for my "weigh-out" on the exact date that was indicated by Weight Loss Grants and received the document indicating my weight. I submitted this document to Weight Loss Grants, but they changed the rules one (1) business day before my weigh-out and were now requiring that the weigh-out be videotaped. I attempted to get this video, which I knew was a huge invasion of privacy not only for myself, but also for the doctor, but was unsuccessful and only ended up in my getting chastised by doctors for wasting their time with such a ridiculous request. Weight Loss Grants accepted the written document for my weigh-in, but not my weigh-out?? Both documents came from the same doctor, my family doctor who I see on a regular basis. I attempted to email people at Weight Loss Grants, but was met with adversity *** or they just ignored me.

Desired Outcome

I would like Weight Loss Grants to pay me what they agreed to pay me, $1,600, which is 80% of the money I paid for the weight loss program per their contract with me plus an additional $700 as I relapsed and ended up gaining some weight back due to the fact that my weight issues are largely due to my emotional status and when I am in a highly emotional state I eat things that I shouldn't. I never thought when I joined this program that they would refuse to hold up their end of the contract, so I was blindsided by first them changing the rules and then refusing to pay my grant. The additional $700 is requested to cover additional monies I had to pay to lose the weight I gained back.

I joined up on May 28, 2018
I was hearing a lot about people not getting paid but it was too late to pull out. Hoping things changed.

My end Date was Nov. 28, 2019
I lost my goal weight 31 pounds by the deadline. Got the doctor to do a video of the final weigh. Paper signed on video from my doctor. All paper work was sent back to the grants program in time.

I have been disqualified with no reason. Reached out to see why I have been disqualified no answers. Apparently I didn't upload a form at the beginning of my start date. No one mention this form at the beginning. I found the form and uploaded it but they said it was too late it needed to be uploaded when I started.
I have all the documents.

I really didn't get help like the contract said from Dalewood/Trillium and especial nothing for the grants program. Uploaded a file files for you to review.

6 steps was completed.
I submit the 6 steps on November 28th December 2 submitted all the other 5 steps.
Final message from *** Weight loss grants program "Hello ***,

I am sorry, but the adjudication committee applies the rules and regulations equally to all applicants. The decision that they made is final."

Desired Outcome

I'm hoping to get my money back I paid 2640.If I reached my goal I would get 80% back. ***. I saw so much media on this but I was too late for me to pull out.

I signed up at for a weight loss program through weight loss grants.org on May 31, 2018. The organization had Dalewood Health Clinic (Regina 2019 11th Ave. S4P0J3 306 206-2825) now Trillium Weight Loss? provide the services to weigh in and support. Dalewood is no longer in business in Regina and has shutdown. I continued to lose weight on my own meeting the criteria of losing 20% of initial weigh in. As required by WLG.org I submitted 3 pieces of documentation to redeem my 80% on payment made for the program ($2,640.00). I followed all the rules of the contract and waited for a response. There is no phone number to reach WLG.org and communication is only through an online bulletin board with little support to me of when the grant would be paid and I would receive reimbursement. Then there was a message on the bulletin board that they were not processing forms and were shutting down. No response for many months. Finally messages sent to my bulletin message board said that my submission was denied. They had sent a registered letter to the mediclinic where I had my weigh-in and received no response from the doctor. This process was not in effect when I signed my contract and I feel that it was another way to defer payment. I followed up with the mediclinic and doctor (as they signed the registered letter). The Dr administration indicated the letter was not in my file and was misfiled). Dr administration staff said if organization sends another letter they will keep their eye on it arriving and do whatever required. They did have my signed weightless form from June 16, 2019 in my file). When I asked WLG.org to resend, they indicated my file was rejected. This is unacceptable as I entered into this contract with 3 documents that I submitted with ligitimate validation/signature from the Medical Clinic (*** St. Regina) Dr. M.*** on July 16, 2019. I also have a weight declaration signed by my family doctor Dr. *** however it was not admissible as the weigh in had to be on July 16, 2019 for some unknown reason. Researching WLG.org I see that I am not alone in meeting the criteria for grant funds as agreed as others are experiencing the same denial of submission when we follow their instruction. One note, this organization made it necessary for me to write a letter thanking them for helping in my weight loss program. I only provided this to get reimbursement as instructed. I am being taken advantage of and this organization should be held accountable for my reimbursement/payment. This is a financial burden for me to not be granted what was agreed to in the contract. If there is any additional information on what I should do in order to report this ***, please let me know. I am frustrated that this has taken so long and I am no closer to resolving. Thanks for your help!

Desired Outcome

I am seeking 80% of the contract amount of $2,640.00 as a refund/grant reimbursement.

I entered into a weight loss program recommended by the Weight Loss Grants Organization based on a guarantee that if I met the set goal, I would receive a grant of 80% of my funds back. It was supposed to include cost of the program and any recommended supplements, but when I received the certified grant certificate, it indicated a max payment of 80% of the program itself and not the recommended supplements. As I had already paid out the money, I continued, but did submit all amounts paid when submitting proof of payment. When I reached my goal, I was told they had changed their process and I could not weight out until my originally set date although I had been told upon starting the program, to set my date for the max of 18 months as I could weight out early. A month before the end, when I hit my target, I was told that I couldn't weigh out until 3 days before but would have up to 30 days after to weight out and submit due to recent, non-communicated or agreed upon, changes. The new change meant right I had to wait until right after Christmas, Dec 30, 2018, when my doctor was unavailable. Despite the lack of notification of the change, I was given no option but to wait and attend an urgent care (which I felt was a waste of valuable health resources) to complete the process. I had originally been told that it would be 14 days after I submitted proof of completion that I would receive my grant. I repeatedly asked about the delay and was told it was still in verification, finally being told they were waiting on the confirmation from the doctor- which it appears they never actually sent. They then denied my claim for not uploading my weigh in documents to the portal upon starting the program - the portal that did not exist at the time I started in June 2017 - documents which they confirmed receipt of prior to granting the certified grant certificate. I started an appeal, shortly after which they finally actually submitted the verification form to the completing doctor. This was nearly 6 months after I was expecting and had budgeted on receiving my funds back, but I felt some relief that it was finally being looked into. It's been over a year, and after getting the run-around for this entire time period, I'm now being told I have to wait about another year before I receive anything, which is completely unacceptable.

Desired Outcome

Although I feel I should also receive interest and there should be a penalty for the stress caused by the lack of timely follow-through on their end of the agreement, I just want to finally have a resolution and put this behind me. I would like to receive the $1830 owing to me - the guaranteed grant of $1800 and the $30 I was told would be refunded for the cost of the newly required weight declaration form signed by a medical doctor.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • Mar 12, 2020

Ms. grant application was rejected because she did not comply with all the requirements for documentation.
Ms. did not provide us with her initial weigh-in Weight Declaration Form that she received when she had her first visit to her service provider. That document declares her true starting weight. Without that document, the adjudication committee cannot verify her starting weight, and cannot determine how much weight Ms. lost.

Customer Response • Mar 12, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Documentation was provided and receipt confirmed. It was not until after the organization received and confirmed that initial weigh-in information that the organization sent me the confirmed grant certificate which validated the initial weight and detailed the amount to be lost and deadline for same. I also received confirmation verbally that all of my documents had been received.

. I2 fell into the Trap and paid almost $3,000 and got nothing back. It devastated me so much that I emotionally ate and gained most of the weight back. You can't do that to people give them false hope and then deny them these are people that had eating disorders and emotional problems and they're making it worse.

I feel that I've been misled and *** by The Weight Loss Grants Organization.
In May of 2017 I signed a contract with the Weight Loss Organization. In the contract I stated that I would lose 40 pounds beginning June 21, 2017 and would lose the weight by Dec 21, 2018. I paid Dalewood, a weight loss program $2100 for their services and the contract was that I would receive $1800 from the Weight Loss Grants upon completion. I fulfilled my commitment and lost the 40 pounds following all their policy details.
My grant request was denied on May 9, 2019. I followed the appeal procedure and submitted my appeal and extra documentation by June 30, 2019 as required. On December 4, 2019 I was denied again. I sent them stood at the time of my weigh out. ***
They state as the reason for rejection to be that I did not weigh in on the specified date, Dec 21, 2018. These documents prove that the policy on that date stated that I had 30 days to weigh in and get the paperwork in to them. I called the Weight Loss Grants Organization twice to clarify and they said I had the thirty days. The specified day was Dec. 21, 2018. My doctor was not available over Christmas and was next available on January third. I saw her that day and had the paperwork in by January 5, 2019. I was not concerned about the wait because the policy was clear.
I am contacting the Revdex.com to resolve this with the Weight Loss Grants Organization and have them pay me the $1800 I am entitled to.

Desired Outcome

I would like the $1800 promised to me by the Weight Loss Grants Organization.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • Dec 30, 2019

Ms. deadline date for demonstrating that she reached her goal weight of 160 lbs was December 21, 2018. At that point Ms. had 30 days to upload all her supporting documents and request that her grant application be reviewed.

Ms. weighed out 13 days later than her deadline (January 3, 2019 instead of December 21, 2018).

Unfortunately, we are unable to give Ms. the benefit of the doubt that she had reached her goal weight by her deadline date, as it was possible for her to lose extra weight during this extended time. Her goal weight was 160 lbs. and her end weight was 157.8 lbs, a difference of only 2.2 lbs which could have easily have been achieved over the additional 13 days.

If for example Ms. took an additional 13 days to conduct her final weigh-out, but she weighed 150.0 lbs, then we could assume that she had reached her goal on December 21, 2018, and she would have been awarded her grant.

The policy at the time states that I had 30 days to get weighed and upload the supporting documents.

After I lost the weight, by December 21, 2018, I received the following email on December 18, 2018.I removed my name from the following email for privacy purposes. I can send a copy of the actual email if necessary.

WEIGHT LOSS GRANTS ORGANIZATION

I called the Weight Loss Grants Organization two times to clarify exactly what it meant. The people on the phone confirmed both times, that I had 30 days to do all the steps including getting weighed.

I also have a printout of the policy at the time, ***. It says " You will then have 30 days to do the following:
1. Weigh out at an authorized medical facility and have the clinician sign your form verifying your weight.
2. Upload the verified weigh-out form, along with your supporting documentation into the document portal.
3. Once your documentation is uploaded, click the 'Request Grant' button. This will allow us to begin reviewing your documentation."

***. It was with the documents I sent with the complaint.

My doctor works part time and was not available through the Christmas season. I saw her the first day she was back. Since it had been made clear to me that I had 30 days to weigh out I did not worry about the 13 days between December 21, 2018 and January 3, 2019. The policy gave me the 30 day leeway.

I am entitled to the grant based on the policy at the time.

I don't accept this response. There is no new information. The Weight Loss Grants just copied and pasted their last response. It is not acceptable to me. I have sent copies of the policies as they stood on the dates in question. They are simply not following their policy and that is not acceptable.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • Feb 06, 2020

Ms. weighed out 13 days later than her deadline, January 3, 2019 instead of December 21, 2018.

Ms. grant request has been denied for this reason.

We consider this case closed.

I paid $1800 to join a program to lose 80lbs and was promised the money back through weight loss org. I lost the weight and I provided legitimate documents to them for proof and they never gave me the money.

Desired Outcome

I want my $1800.00 cheque as promised.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • Dec 06, 2019

We are in the process of verifying the documents that were submitted to the grant organization. Once we have the doctor's verification, we will be able to conclude the review.
